**The Huawei Matebook X: A Premium and Compact Laptop**

The Huawei Matebook X is a laptop that has caught my attention with its super light weight, which is just over 1 kg. little bit today with this this is the Huawei mbook X let's get it unboxed and I'll tell you a bit more about it so Huawei is now moving into to the dedicated laptop space and I was in China with them checking out CES Asia and that's where they had the launch of this so on the box we've got Huawei mbook X got the logo Intel inside now it does have Dolby Atmos sound system so you've got a bit of a surround sound system going on here and it's a 13in laptop a little bit of info here on the side let's go ahead and get it out the sleeve and I'll pop it open so here it is charge the battery before powering on the device for the first time okay we'll see about that and this is the Gold version it's also available in a gray and sort of rose gold color as well let's see what else we have in here uh this looks like the power brick so we've got the European power brick here and that has a single USB type-c input and in this box here we have USB type-c to USB type-c cable which you're going to be connecting onto the charger and you also get this dock now this dock is going to plug into your us USBC Port we only have two USBC ports on the mbook X and this is going to give you a USB type A which is obviously going to be useful HDMI VGA as well as another USB type-c so that's definitely nice that it's included Inside the Box you're not going to have to SP spend anymore and have to go out and buy one uh but if you didn't want a different one obviously you can go ahead and do that so let's get to the laptop itself here wow okay now first thing I have to say is this is super light uh just over a kg I think it is and it also feels and looks very premium you've got a nice uh metal build all around uh the Huawei logo up front here on the bottom we've got these grips so this is going to keep it slightly raised when you've got it on the desk now on the left hand side is a USB type-c port we've got a battery icon here so this is the port that you're going to be using to charge we've also got A3 .5 mm headphone jack which just about fits in here this is super thin as well we're looking at 12.5 mm so that is absolutely awesome wow it's just like literally just fitted in on the right hand side we have another single USB port so I think that's awesome that we do have that dock included because no doubt you are going to be needing to use it now we've got this hinge here so let's go ahead and open this up all right so we've got this piece of plastic here here is the main keyboard feels quite nice we do have a little bit of travel I think it's 1.2 mm travel on the keys here there's also the speaker along here at the top now as mentioned previously this does support Dolby atomos we've got the trackpad which uh feels nice and clicky and there is also a fingerprint scanner so this is the power button as well as a fingerprint scanner oh I I switched it on I wasn't supposed to switch it on before charging it but I've switched it on is it too late to do anything now oops a few moments later so I've gone ahead and given this a charge for about 20 minutes half an hour and I have also set up the fingerprint scanner so we can see it live in action so I've shut this down and let's go and dry out this is live and we are in so by setting up the fingerprint scanner even when the device is shut off as soon as you press it it's going to recognize your fingerprint scanner and let you in straight away so that is super super duper quick and now that it's switched on the key standout feature that you'll see here is that displays 13 in but look at those bezels minimal bezels now here on super saf TV I know you guys don't like bezels I don't like bezels so the fact that the bezels on this are so small is absolutely awesome and it also keeps the laptop all together really compact let me just put the brightness up up slightly yeah now in terms of the resolution you've got 2160 x440 so that's 2K display which is very very nice and you also have an srgb 100% color gamut so that's going to give you some nice and accurate colors now specs wise this comes in a couple of different configurations you've got the 7th generation Intel Core i5 7200 U processor or the i7 7500 U processor there's the Intel HD graphics 620 you get either the 256 G G or 512 GB SSD storage versions and either 4 GB or 8 GB LPR DDR3 RAM now this should be more than enough for most people so if you're going to be doing things like word editing web browsing even some image editing should be absolutely fine on this some light gaming might also be okay on this but obviously if you're going to be doing some more heavy gaming and video editing and things like that then you're going to have to look for something with a more powerful GPU now for the battery you've got a 5,44 9 MH battery and they should last you up to 10 hours so that's if you're going to be doing some 1080 video playback now in terms of latest pricing availability I will drop some links in the
