The World of Technology: A Look at the Latest News and Developments

If you're looking to upgrade your gaming rig but don't think you have the budget for it, there's some good news. The lower-cost Pixel 4A might become a reality in the near future. While details are still scarce, we know that the device will feature a reasonably sized 5.7-inch screen, a punch hole front selfie camera, and what's more, a headphone jack. Yes, you read that right – a headphone jack is a rare luxury these days.

However, not everyone will be thrilled about this development. The fact that it won't have dual rear cameras or face unlock may be a letdown for some. Additionally, we don't know exactly how much the Pixel 4A will cost or when it'll come out. But if it's anything like its predecessor, the Pixel 3a, it might just be less than $400.

The world of home internet is also undergoing a significant shift. At the end of last year, cable-based ISPs still controlled two-thirds of the market, while non-cable telecommunications providers lost internet subscribers due to their inability to build enough fiber-to-the-home connections. This has led some to wonder if wireless 5G to the home will change the balance of power anytime soon.

In the meantime, there's no better way to stay connected than by eating more kale – just kidding! While that joke may have been overused, it's clear that fiber is still the gold standard for high-speed internet. So, what can you do in the absence of fast and reliable internet? You could try gaming, of course!

Speaking of games, 2K Games has made a shocking move by pulling most of its titles from GeForce Now. This includes popular franchises like Bioshock, Borderlands, Civilization, and NBA, among others. But don't worry, folks – Epic Games is stepping in to fill the void with Fortnite and other Epic Game Store titles that choose to participate.

And then there's Amazon Go, the retail store that lets you just leave without going through a checkout lane. Several companies have come to terms with Amazon to incorporate this technology into their own stores. While Amazon hasn't revealed which companies they've partnered with, it's clear that more places are going to be adding this feature in the near future.

But what about the environmental impact? That's where Green Ridge Generation comes in. This power plant upstate New York is using excess natural gas energy to mine bitcoin, generating around $45,000 per day – or roughly equivalent to 11 megawatts of electricity. Not a bad way to turn waste into wealth!

Finally, fans of Call of Duty are in for a treat. The new Battle Royale game, Warzone, has been officially revealed. It's free to play and won't require any previous Call of Duty titles. But what about the aim assist system that was once used to track opponents? Epic Games has since banned it due to its exploitation by some players using keyboards and mice.

In other news, NVIDIA is still dealing with issues related to GeForce Now. While the service continues to grow, some users have expressed frustration with the lack of opponent tracking technology for console players. On the other hand, darpa – yes, that's right, darpa – has been working on a similar system to track opponents. It remains to be seen how this will impact the gaming world.

And that's all for now. Stay tuned for more updates from the world of tech news, and don't forget to check out LTX Expo happening August 8th and 9th at Intel DreamHack. You won't want to miss it!
