The Element Case Sector 5 for iPhone 5: A Review

As I begin this review, I'm excited to take a closer look at the Element Case Sector 5 for my trusty iPhone 5. To start, let's take a glance at the packaging. Element has really outdone themselves with their recent design, and it shows in the presentation of the case. Inside the box, we have not only the Sector 5 case itself but also a pouch full of goodies that I'll get to later on.

Among the contents of the box, we have the installation instructions, which should provide clear guidance on how to assemble the case. We also find a package containing the back plate, a cleaning cloth, an applicator, and protective edges for the sides. Inside this carrying case, we have the tool that makes it easy to take off and put on the Element Case, as well as an extra screw that can be attached to your keychain as a spare.

I must admit, I'm a fan of minimalist cases, so I opted to apply only the element case bumper and Sector 5 itself. This allowed me to see just how seamlessly these components come together. To take it apart, I used the tool provided, which opens up into a tiny screwdriver. A clever design feature that makes this process much easier than it would have been with previous cases.

One of the things that caught my attention was the new hinged design of the Sector 5 case. This allows for an incredibly simple installation process – simply remove one screw, open it up, place your iPhone inside, and then close it around like a Transformer face hugger. It's a beautifully designed mechanism that ensures a snug fit without stripping the screws.

The material used in this case is still aircraft-grade aluminum, just as with all Element Cases. While this material may not be as dense or heavy as I've come to expect from previous models, it still provides excellent protection – especially when paired with the back plate and side covers, which offer a lot of extra shielding for your iPhone.

I do have to mention that the Sector 5 case is pricey, but I believe you're getting what you pay for. The high-quality materials and distinctive design make this case stand out from the crowd. While it may not be as minimalist as some other options, it's certainly premium and exclusive. And let's be honest – there's something special about owning a piece of gear that looks and feels so good.
