The Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition is to DIE FOR! _ REVIEW

The Lexus LFA: A Driving Experience Like No Other

As I sit inside this incredible machine, I am reminded that some things never go out of date. The police car I was driving seven years ago had a reversing camera and an entertainment system that was considered advanced at the time. But here, in the Lexus LFA, I find myself surrounded by technology that feels like it belongs in a futuristic cityscape.

The digital display for the driver is a marvel of modern engineering, offering a level of sophistication that was previously unimaginable. And yet, as I delve deeper into the car's features, I am struck by how much of this technology was ahead of its time. The infotainment system, with its intuitive controls and impressive sound quality, feels like something from a sci-fi movie. But it's not just the tech that makes this car special – it's the way everything comes together to create an experience unlike any other.

As I explore the LFA's interior, I am struck by the attention to detail that has gone into every aspect of its design. From the carbon fiber key and separate immobilizer to the massive ceramic brakes and lightweight wheels, every element feels like a masterclass in engineering and craftsmanship. And then, of course, there is the sound – oh, the sound! The Lexus LFA is known for its ear-shattering engine note, and I can see why. Inside the car, the sound is almost palpable, a rumble that vibrates through every part of your body.

As I take the steering wheel in hand, I am struck by how well it feels. The leather wrapping is supple and comfortable, while the paddle shifters behind me offer a level of precision and control that is hard to put into words. And yet, despite all these modern conveniences, there's something undeniably old-school about this car – a sense of nostalgia and romance that is hard to ignore.

I spend a few moments exploring the LFA's features, fiddling with the buttons and controls on the steering wheel and center console. The shifter paddles are beautifully designed, with a subtle click when you pull them out. And then there's the reverse gear – an odd little button that I'm not entirely sure how it works, but somehow manages to conjure up a sense of drama and flair. Meanwhile, the mirrors control panel is cleverly hidden away, adding to the overall sense of sophistication and refinement.

As I get back behind the wheel, I am struck by how well this car handles. The steering feels responsive and precise, with a subtle weight that suggests it's built for speed rather than comfort. And when you press the accelerator, the engine responds with a ferocity that is almost overwhelming – a sound that ripples through every part of your body and leaves you breathless.

After a few laps around the track, I take one final moment to explore the LFA's design. The exterior shape may look sleek and aggressive, but it's the aerodynamic efficiency that really sets this car apart. Every curved line and pointed edge is designed to reduce drag and maximize downforce – a testament to the incredible engineering skills of the Lexus team.

As I step out of the car for one final time, I am struck by its sheer presence. The massive ceramic brakes and lightweight wheels make it look almost brutal, while the carbon fiber accents and metallic trim add a touch of sophistication that is hard to ignore. And then, of course, there's the design – a masterclass in aerodynamic efficiency that somehow manages to evoke both speed and stealth.

Finally, I take one last look at the LFA's interior. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and Alcantara-clad seats are sumptuous and comfortable, while the button controls on the center console add a touch of old-school charm to this already incredible machine. And then there's the sound – a subtle growl that hints at the power and performance that lies beneath.

As I walk away from the LFA for one final time, I am filled with a sense of awe and wonder. This car is truly something special – an engineering marvel that combines speed, power, and style in a way that's hard to match. And as I make my way back to the office, I can't help but feel grateful for the chance to drive it – and share this incredible experience with all of you.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys I'm Shmi and today you join me to take a look at this car of a Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition now my friend the owner has left me the keys to show you the car and take it out for a drive and see what it's about and believe me when I tell you now this is one of the best sounding cars you will ever hear let's get started then with a little look around it before I take it out for a test drive to see and experience something that is truly rare and special in fact the LFA Nurburgring package there are only 50 of them in the world and it's really quite likely that this is the only one in the United Kingdom at all so out of the 500 LFA is that normally had 560 horsepower from the 4.8 liter naturally aspirated v10 the Nurburgring packages took that up by 11 horsepower added the fixed rear wing and carbon fiber at the back configured everything slightly more aggressively and prepared it for a 7 minutes and 14 seconds Lapidus Leifer which at the time was one of the fastest cars so this launched in 2010 they were built with the week between 2010 and 2012 it was created as an experiment by Toyota under the Lexus brand to build something truly truly special so they partnered with all sorts of companies that could help Yamaha for the acoustics from the exhaust noise that you're going to hear shortly the design is really quite aggressive but very very much Lexus so it has a luxurious honest to it it's a front engine GT rear-wheel drive driven has a 6-speed sequential manual gearbox it has that long look to it but such clean lines the way you can see them going all the way down the car and I think it's one of the best-looking cars that I've seen in recent times to be honest I loved it the first time I drove an LFA in California and in fact on that day I had the same kind of low Sun that we have today as well but you come around here it's got such distinctive shapes got these little lip spoilers at the side combined with that massive carbon fiber fixed wing that's so high that you actually look out the rearview underneath it down here you've got the signature triangular triple exhaust pipes that like I said make one of the best sounds that you can ever hear from any car believe me and then if we come and have a little look at the interior the doors open the button just here that you press in the Nurburgring Edition it's all Alcantara the seats fit very very snugly inside either side at the central console tunnel and there are many quirks and things that are unusual not hugely familiar so let me just jump in actually and show you one or two things in here so put the key in there start it up with the button on the steering wheel and that noise that noise let me just close the door for a moment the dials digital display and it is actually digital because the needle Suites so fast when you rev it that an analog dial couldn't even keep up which is just a crazy statistic but it's sport mode you have this dog dial here that goes up for sport down for wet and then you get that view which just looks cool you can control a series of settings and menus and as you can see the rev counter actually moves across the screen as you go through all of this and I've shown this actually in my video but it was three years ago so many people would not have seen it for the moment though let me pop the window down just listen to this that noise is ridiculous and the general design in here the carbon fiber the Alcantara it's super cool and it was really quite very far ahead of its time you've got a cursor which is a little bit funny and outdated now but that was a bit forwards at the time just generally though it makes you feel so good being in here when you open up the bonnet which is down here somewhere there we go actually should probably just switch it off for the moment jump out take a little look under the hood round here leave if I can find it there we go pop that up it needs to be supported with a rod so I'm just holding it by my hand for the moment but you can see the carbon fiber finish of the panel the whole body is made out of a special composite but that's the 400 and sorry the 4.8 liter naturally aspirated v10 571 horsepower capable of nought 62 miles an hour in about 4 seconds and a top speed as to Mitch over 200 miles per hour got that back down you've got all of these lines for cooling through the car cooling through the engine of C air through for the wheel wells here coming back through again to cool down brakes everything everywhere you look and there are clever things like the bottle for the water liquids sorry for the windscreen washer is down here in the side because there wasn't any room with the big engine that kind of thing but I think I should jump in now and go for a little Drive and experience one of the greatest I think modern supercars let's see what this is like gentle whale in the background of the v10 on the countryside roads here fourth gear go up and down the gearbox is not necessarily the best because is this automated sequential manual so six-speed gearbox you have to fluctuate through often slightly but this is in normal mode and it's just heavenly there is quite frankly nothing better from that sound then I thought what the eighths are typically might think but this this is just astonishing the sound is tuned by Yamaha to make it sound even better Japanese working magic on baton is quite a special thing about the car the time it came out but it's such a fast revving sound in blips beautifully it's just even when you're idling it like this right now it sounds truly dreamy now I Drive you around some testing bumpy countryside roads when naturally this car is not the batter before it's created for the millah burger in quite a smoother race circuit particularly in this version although even a standard car is that way inclined you have this carbon fibre and Alcantara steering wheel flat bottom feels great in the hands and then you have a toggle here let's put it into sport mode so we're in sport mode I'll turn to the countryside lanes and just listen it's just absolutely amazing that downshift noise again I really don't think it possibly could be oh this roads a little belt the bumpy side like I said I'm just tested for it tastes a little bit you definitely feel it all the suspension is set up for the Nurburgring but please know just look around and try taking everything that I've got in this car to look at and the controls it's everything's lifted straight out of a regular Lexus model except for the engine they attempted I mean my goodness oh my gosh now see this is the left hydro car in the UK that takes a little bit of the mind calibrating but you just feel a true sense of special occasion in here you've got great visibility actually I mean it's a GT star configuration you can see the intake vents through the door mirror it's such a high pitch perfectly tuned sound it's I guess I'm probably using every adjective a profit possible can to describe it but it really is that kind of true true true spectacular sound you just pull out them to smooth them in a road there I just thought I'd land a card into talking for a moment so I think it doesn't matter and I possibly can honestly hi this is just incredible let's put it back to normal and then go into whammo just to experience it or gently can actually go or somatic on the gearbox but we don't really think you ever would want to when you've got manual I think in today's manual so what about XX gear cruising along where it's a little bit quieter bit more relaxed and gentle actually becomes quite civilized to be honest with you you know you've got all your media all your entertainment all your controls from that point of view we've got various things you can change and toggle putting it into reverse as a slightly unusual feeling because you have to do things straight away and and a bad job will go down some gears that ever wants to go back into manual to be honest so we just keep it comfortable so it's pretty much the same I believe I get sports I'm lost for words guys this is just monumentally awesome intern traction off would let me do that Wow now this little loop has some amazing roads let's just experience this again to get the flip of the red line even just the overrun noise bubbles are anything we're just lifting off and hearing that tone that frequency not pitch maybe it's such a magical thing with this car honestly as an experienced we think some things are out of date obviously it's a car there was police seven years ago now things like the entertainment system they're all there the reversing camera and all of that which was super far ahead at the time back there you know digital display for the driver that was basically well non-existent back then it was a completely new thing whereas now you'll have it on your regular hatchback or a golf that kind of car lately in love with an engine sound the Lexus LFA is one of the very best if not the best that I have driven inside I mean outside it's not that loud but inside boy you can feel the car I don't know the exact weight but it feels a little bit of a heavy side for the kind of car steering feels pretty good could maybe be slightly more precise and it's not the way to the engine up front but all of these things just come together to make this car money and it's really something incredible to drive let's just take another little moment to explore around here again then I'll show you some things in slightly more detail than we saw earlier on and please excuse quite how bright that sunlight is appreciate it's a little bit annoying but you've got a couple of settings and things you can control in here go through the different menus it's just I don't know it's really really futuristic when you think when this came out and when this was launched on the steering wheel that's controlled through that button but you've got the shifter paddles fixed to the column behind which are really really nice paddles to pull there nicely nice long shape easily accessible then the reverse gear that I mentioned before you pull and hold this which is odd I think marine fog for the Nurburgring Edition is the button just back there and lower down the traction control your mirrors are controlled down here please excuse me for the light then you've got the infotainment system or this side of things which like I said it's a little bit old school and kind of out of date now but hey it was cool at the time and this car is not about that to me it's about how it drives and what it's actually like and you've got just like a computer really the buttons to go forwards and back and click things then little bit of glovebox over here actually quite a decent glovebox looser space inside there and then all the Alcantara and the seats have airbags and the seatbelts sorry which is unusual quite nice when you're wearing them and then these Alcantara clad seats I think custom for this car again very very cool with a parcel shelf back behind us and the number of the LFA on this plaque in the middle back here so it's really quite ridiculously cool if I just open the door and show you the seat controls you move your seat with this so that's forward some backwards all the other way around the mouths of the backrest and then you've got I think seating down there at the front and the button to release it to fold it forwards if that's what you want to do door pocket amazing sound system it's all the the metals and things you touch they're all really nicely finished awesome feel to everything everything that you touch so let's turn it back off check out the key key is this carbon fiber piece with a separate immobilizer but it's a little bit out of date it'd be nice to have that updated and tidy back up now but let's just step out one last time the final little look around the car lighter weight wheels massive ceramic brakes sits quite low and then this design all these shapes that are created for aerodynamic efficiency and airflow cooling and keeping the car and making it possible to do what it can do which was very much based on the lexus race cars at the time competing in the nürburgring Nordschleife erases the end 24 and events like that but this thing to me it's all about the sound and when it comes to sound there is nothing that does it better than the LFA nothing that's all so this has been a pretty epic experience an amazing opportunity to drive this car and share the video with you so huge thanks goes to the owner whose Instagram link is down below go check it out we've seen a few of the cars before the SLS Black Series Koenigsegg Agera RS Neriah and a few others but today has
