Samsung Galaxy S7 vs Samsung Galaxy S6 Camera Test Comparison

**Camera Comparison: Samsung Galaxy S7 vs S6**

When it comes to camera capabilities, the Samsung Galaxy S7 offers several advantages over its predecessor, the S6. One notable feature is the use of dual pixel autofocus, which provides faster and more accurate focusing than the S6's single-pixel autofocus. This results in improved performance in low-light conditions, making the S7 a better choice for those who want to capture high-quality images even in dimly lit environments.

In terms of image quality, both devices produce excellent results, but with some notable differences. The S6 has 16 megapixels and produces 16x9 images, while the S7 has 12 megapixels and produces 4x3 images. However, when sizing up the images side-by-side, it becomes clear that the S6's higher pixel count provides slightly sharper results, especially when cropping in on the image. This is due to the increased resolution of the S6's camera.

Despite this, the S7's larger pixels prove to be a significant advantage in low-light conditions. When testing both devices under various lighting scenarios, it becomes apparent that the S7's improved camera capabilities result in brighter and more detailed images. The S6's camera struggles to capture as much detail in low-light situations, resulting in noise and loss of image quality.

The front-facing camera on both devices also produces excellent results, but with some subtle differences. The S7's camera has made significant improvements in low-light conditions, while the S6's camera remains slightly better suited for good lighting scenarios. However, when it comes to taking selfies under artificial light, the S7's improved camera capabilities make it a clear winner.

**Racing Camera Comparison**

The racing camera feature on both devices provides an interesting comparison. With the S6 producing 16x9 images and the S7 producing 4x3 images, it's clear that the S6 has a slight advantage in this regard. However, when sizing up the images side-by-side, it becomes apparent that both cameras produce excellent results.

One notable difference between the two devices is the camera's performance during HDR mode. When set to automatic, both devices use HDR, but the S7 performs significantly better, providing a brighter foreground and maintaining more detail in the clouds. This demonstrates the S7's improved low-light capabilities and ability to capture more dynamic range.

**Low-Light Test**

To truly test the camera capabilities of both devices, it's essential to perform a low-light test. When moving under room lighting, both cameras produce excellent results, but the S7 takes the lead in terms of brightness and detail. However, when the light is further reduced, the S7's improved camera capabilities become even more apparent.

The S7's dual pixel autofocus proves to be a significant advantage in low-light conditions, allowing it to capture high-quality images with minimal noise and loss of image quality. In contrast, the S6 struggles to capture as much detail, resulting in noticeable noise and degradation of image quality.

**Image Comparison**

To provide a more detailed comparison between the two devices, I have sized up several images from both cameras. When viewed side-by-side, it becomes clear that both cameras produce excellent results, but with some notable differences. The S6's 16 megapixels result in slightly sharper images, especially when cropping in on the image.

However, the S7's larger pixels prove to be a significant advantage in low-light conditions, resulting in brighter and more detailed images. This is evident when comparing the two devices under various lighting scenarios.

**Video Comparison**

When it comes to video recording, both devices produce excellent results, but with some notable differences. The S7 has made significant improvements in terms of autofocus, providing faster and more accurate focusing than the S6. This results in improved performance in low-light conditions, making the S7 a better choice for those who want to capture high-quality video.

**Should You Upgrade from the S6 to the S7?**

Ultimately, whether or not you should upgrade from the S6 to the S7 depends on your specific needs and preferences. If you're looking for improved low-light capabilities and faster autofocus, then the S7 is undoubtedly the better choice.

However, if you're happy with the camera performance of the S6 and don't need the additional features offered by the S7, then there's no compelling reason to upgrade. The S6 remains a great device with excellent camera capabilities, making it a solid choice for those on a budget or who don't need the latest and greatest technology.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy S7 offers several significant advantages over its predecessor, the S6. With improved low-light capabilities, faster autofocus, and larger pixels, the S7 is undoubtedly the better camera device. While the S6 remains a great choice for those on a budget or who don't need the latest technology, the S7 is the clear winner when it comes to camera performance.

If you're looking to upgrade from the S6 to the S7, then there's no doubt that you'll be making an excellent decision. With its improved camera capabilities and faster autofocus, the S7 is a must-have device for anyone who wants to capture high-quality images and videos with ease.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up YouTube saf here on super saf TV and this is the Epic super saf style camera comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 so a lot of you have been asking for this mainly to see if there's much different from the S6 to the S7 cameras and uh to basically decide if it's worth going over from the S6 to the S7 so in the usual style we'll be looking at both the front and rear facing cameras and that images as well as video to do also look out for the audio icon in the corner of the screen and that will indicate to you which device the audio is coming from to and we'll be switching between these two to give you guys a better idea of the differences in audio as well so we're currently indoors we've got plenty of light we're using the front-facing cameras on both devices and we are going to be heading Outdoors shortly and doing some rear facing camera tests as well then some low light test too so do hit that thumbs up button and let's get straight to it so we're now outdoors with both devices is filming at 4K now this video is exported out at 1080p but what this does mean is that we can crop in much further just uh taking a bit of a walk with both devices side by side to see if there is any major difference now going on to the S6 autof focus in relatively low light seems to be doing a pretty good job now same lighting with the S7 and that dual pixel AO focus is just crazy look at that just seamless just going from one to another now before we move on to the images just a very quick thanks to our sponsor for this episode which is dbrand dbrand have a huge selection of skins for the Galaxy devices as well as many more I'll be leaving a link to them in the description below so definitely do go head and check them out if you want to customize the look of your phone so kicking off with some selfies we've got a super saf style car selfie here and both seem to be doing pretty well and you've got lots of detail on both I think the S7 image is slightly sharper which I do like I think that is an improvement that we have here but you're not going to be able to tell too much in good light you have 5 megapixels on both I think low light is really where you're going to be able to tell more of a difference so moving on to a low light image here you can see that we've got a lot more detail on the S7 image and it's also a lot brighter the S6 has definitely lost a lot of detail there's some processing going on so if you look towards my beard and face you'll notice that everything is starting to smudge together so you can see definitely some improvements in terms of low light for the front facing camera on the S7 now another thing that the S7 has is a front-facing flash which illuminates the front display to give you some more light and lots more detail and you can see here that it definitely does help so that's another feature and another advantage that you're going to be getting with the S7 not sure if the S6 is going to be getting this with a software update now moving on to images from the racing camera now one thing to bear in mind straight away is that you've got 16 megapixels on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and you've got 12 megapixels on the S7 you've also got 16x9 images on the S6 whereas you've got 4x3 images on the S7 however I have sized them up so you can see side-by side differences so here for this image of the flower both seem to be doing absolutely great you've got lots of detail the S6 image does seem slightly sharper and if we go in 100% you'll notice why that is is because of those 16 megapixels you can crop in much further on the image of the S6 compared to that of the S7 now an out the wide image I think both are doing great and you've got some nice dynamic range on both here and you can't really tell too much of a difference so I thought I'd go into a more tricky challenging situation and here you can see that the S7 is definitely performing better HDR mode was set to automatic on both devices and both of them did use HDR but the S7 is doing a whole lot better you've got a much brighter foreground but it's not losing Details In The Clouds either so definitely doing really really good in terms of the dynamic range now to really test the S7 camera we have to go in low light situations so this is under room lighting and the S7 does look brighter here but let's dip the light down even further and now you can clearly see the advantages of having less pixels but those larger pixels are really helping give you a Brighter Image in low light you've got more detail you've got a lot less noise compared to the S6 taking this test even further I went outdoors and once again the S7 is really shining here in terms of low light and you can see we've got a much Brighter Image with a lot more detail if we go in 100% although you can crop in further on the S6 you don't have that detail because it's just not doing as well in low light compared to the S7 so this is a big advantage that you have with the S7 as opposed to the S6 now finally looking at the image using the flash I think both are doing pretty well there's not a huge deal of difference here just very slight differences in the color I mean this was taken on automatic so it looks like both of them have selected slightly different white balance settings but that's not much of a big deal I think both are doing okay so that was the detailed camera comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 now just a side note the S6 S6 Edge S6 Edge Plus as well as the Note 5 all have the same cameras so I'm not going to be doing separate camera comparisons for those they will have the same results and to summarize for video you're not going to be noticing a huge deal of difference in a good light one area where you will be noticing a big difference is in Focus the S7 has a dual pixel autofocus which works wonders and it's the fastest I've seen on any smartphone out there for the front-facing camera you've got improvements in terms of low light mainly you've got a lot more detail Plus that front-facing flash definitely does help for the rear facing camera the S6 is going to give you more detail in good light because of the 16 megapixels compared to the 12 megapixels but when it comes to low light you are going to be seeing some huge improvements here so I know a lot of you are going to be asking should you upgrade from the S6 to the S7 the S6 still has a great camera but if you want to take advantage of the autofocus and the low light capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S7 then it might be worth the UPG grade that's what I think anyway what do you think do drop me a comment below and let me know your thoughts I'm going to be posting lots more images from the Samsung Galaxy S 7 on my Instagram account which is @ suaf TV so definitely do go ahead and give me a follow on there I hope you enjoyed this video and found it useful if you did then please do hit that thumbs up button for me it really does help me out if you haven't already then be sure to subscribe I've got lots more S7 coverage coming up on here thanks for watching this is saf
