Never Use Your Key Again With Lockly Secure Pro

The Lochley Secure Pro: A Comprehensive Review of Its Features and Functionality

The Lochley Secure Pro is a smart lock that offers a range of features and functionalities, making it an attractive option for those looking to upgrade their home security system. One of the main reasons to get the Secure Pro is the ability to unlock your door without having to carry a key with you. This can be done through Bluetooth functionality, PIN Genie technology, fingerprint scanning, or using your existing keys.

Bluetooth Functionality

The Secure Pro comes equipped with Bluetooth functionality, allowing you to unlock your door by pulling out your phone and entering the app. While this feature is convenient, I rarely use it due to the numerous other options available. The PIN Genie technology on the faceplate allows users to type in their PIN, which changes every time the device is turned on. This adds an extra layer of security, as even if someone is watching you, they won't know your PIN.

Fingerprint Scanning

I had no issue using my fingerprint to unlock the Secure Pro, with the feature working seamlessly once I waited a few seconds for it to recognize my fingerprint. The device's ability to adapt to my fingerprint was impressive, and I appreciated the convenience of not having to carry a key or enter a PIN code.

Keyless Entry

The Secure Pro also comes equipped with rekeying capabilities, allowing users to work with existing keys. This feature worked well for me, as I could use my existing keys without any issues. The device's compact design and sleek appearance make it an attractive option for those looking for a secure lock.

Smart Lock Features

In comparison to other smart locks on the market, the Secure Pro offers a range of features that set it apart. One notable feature is its ability to integrate with over-the-internet functionality, allowing users to unlock or lock their door remotely through the Smart Link app. However, I experienced some issues with the range of this feature, which was disappointing.

Smart Link App

When connected to the Secure Pro via the Smart Link app, users can control various functions, such as locking and unlocking their door using voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The integration with these virtual assistants is seamless, allowing users to manage their home security system with ease.

Google Assistant Implementation

The integration with Google Assistant, however, presented some limitations. I discovered that I couldn't unlock the door using Google Assistant on my phone due to its inability to accept PIN codes. However, when using the Smart Display or Google Assistant through the app, users can enter the PIN code and access the lock's status.

Amazon Assistant Implementation

In contrast, the integration with Amazon Alexa worked smoothly, allowing users to control their home security system with voice commands. The device's ability to detect whether the door is locked or unlocked was accurate, although I experienced some occasional discrepancies due to connectivity issues.

Smart Display Integration

The Smart Display integration also provided an interesting feature: it would display the lock's status in real-time. While this worked well when connected, I noticed that there were instances where the display inaccurately reflected the lock's status, likely due to connection issues.

Design and Durability

One of the standout features of the Secure Pro is its design and durability. The device itself is compact and sleek, making it an attractive option for those looking to upgrade their home security system. However, I did experience some occasional malfunctions with the door locking mechanism, which required manual intervention to resolve.

Conclusion

The Lochley Secure Pro offers a comprehensive range of features and functionalities that make it an attractive option for those looking to upgrade their home security system. Its compact design, sleek appearance, and seamless integration with various smart home systems make it a top contender in the market. While some limitations were encountered during testing, such as the Smart Link app's limited range and Google Assistant's PIN code acceptance issues, these did not detract from my overall experience with the device.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enin today's video we're going to check out the lochley secure pro this is a smart lock that allows you to enter your home in many different ways with pin genie technology a fingerprint on the side or even a key let's get started everybody welcome to tech with Bret where I help tech work for you lochley reached out to me and asked if I wanted to check out their secure Pro deadbolt edition so they did send out this product so I could check it out for you guys today and through this video I'm going to be setting it up and show you everything that it can do now the first thing that I really wanted in a smart lock is the ability to lock it with Google assistant or with Amazon's assistant so this does have that you also receive a wireless door sensor it has advanced 3d fingerprint technology and then inside this particular box it does include the secure link so it does give you that option for a smart assistant which is really nice so I'll be using this at home but this is a great option to lock your office or maybe a rental space and it does work over Bluetooth so looking at the side of the box it talks about a few things it can do it has Universal Direction installation so you could install this on a deadbolt that uses the right or the left side it's packed with the latest technology it has offline access codes the world's first secure digital touch screen advanced 3d fingerprint access premium grade quality easy installation secure link Wi-Fi included and then it will work on Apple devices as well as Android devices so you will need to download the lochley application and then here on the back it just shows the deadbolt shows you a little bit more about what this is all about and lastly over here on the side it shows us everything that is included here in the box again it also comes with the door sensor as well as the Wi-Fi bridge and this model that I'm using today is the satin nickel but it also comes in Venetian bronze as well as matte black now you also have the option to get this in a latch model and you have the same color options there set nickel the Venetian bronze as well as matte black I decided to go with the satin nickel version and because it didn't match my doorknob I will be replacing that as well so let's check out what's inside the box so here inside the box you have some information about lochley and then here you have all of the installation manuals and everything you need now this is a very important part here you have the initial code so this code allows you to activate your lochley device and if you ever need a factory reset you will need that code again to get it set up now here we have the back plate so this will go on the inside of your door and this is where you will place the batteries inside here and how you can lock and unlock your door inside here's all the screws the batteries as well as the key and everything that we'll need to get this installed and then here we have the door sensor and the secure link USB that gives you a Lockley secure Pro it's smart functionality and then here is the deadbolt pretty hefty nice size really excited to get it installed so not only does it have the fingerprint sensor right here on the side to get in but here on the faceplate you can add your pin code using its pin genie technology and then if those fell for any reason you have this option to use a key to entry and then down here if the battery dies you can put a 9-volt battery up to this to power it up so that you could actually gain access if the batteries run out of juice on the inside and that is where we will put in the batteries to get it all set up and then on the back pretty simple you can just lock and unlock it like that so let's go and get it installed everything you need to know is contained within the manuals here so there is a manual for the installation as well as for using the lochley secure Pro as well as there's plenty of options to go and get help you can actually go to this build application that will run you step-by-step in how to get it installed so I used a combination of all of those but I highly recommend following along and reading each page twice before you go to the next step so you don't miss anything as I did a few times during the install so here are all the different buttons you have on the device and you will need a screwdriver to get installed it comes with the battery and all the other things that you will need now the first step to installing the lochley secure Pro is actually to take off your old deadbolt and see what size of hole that you have in your door this step I did not do so right now while you're watching this video go ahead and do this to see if the lochley secure Pro will fit your door after removing my deadbolt I found that I only had an inch and a half dead bolt hole where the lochley secured pro the deadbolt or the latch requires a 2 and 1/8 inch hole so for the next step I needed to figure out how to get my door hole to be bigger so like any home improvement project I headed down to Home Depot and purchased a 2 and 1/8 inch hole saw and then I taped up this little guide that luckily provided and I quickly found out that this is not the way that you drill a bigger hole in your door you'd need a few more tools to be able to do that so after putting a hole in the piece of paper putting some scratches in my door and getting my drill bit stuck I decided to call in the pros so I actually called around to a few different door places and they said they couldn't do this but I ended up calling a locksmith who said that he had the tools to come over and do that so with the right drill bit and this little door anchor he was able to quickly drill a hole in my door that was 2 and 1/8 inch size not only that but I was able to have him rekey my lochley secure Pro so it is the same key that I used on all the doors in my house so I don't need to have a separate key just for lochley now that of course is not as secure as having different keys for your home but I wanted everything to be all one in the same so it's nice that you do have the option if you want to rekey the lock and now we have the right size hole to install the lock ly secure Pro when installing the deadbolt make sure that you have the deadbolt extended or you're gonna have a bad time and you're gonna have to redo it three times not that I have any experience but that is something that you need to know next we are going to adjust the deadbolt so the latch full sit Center on my new door hole so there is a 2 and 3/4 inch length or a two and 3/8 inch length so you will use both hands here to twist it apart and to put it back together until it is aligned properly once the Plus latch hole sit Center and the deadbolt is able to go in all the way we're ready to screw in the deadbolt now I did need to make some modifications first so that my deadbolt would fit flush on my door so I simply used a chisel to chisel that out a little bit to get it to fit flush and then I was able to screw it in next we are going to install the exterior assembly first route the cable underneath the latch so there is an adhesive strip at the top that you can just place on the door and it will stick in but if you want to you can screw a hole in your door and screw that in and then we need to make sure that this rod is set in a vertical position and then we're going to stick it through the latch like so and then we're going to make sure that it is aligned with the door and then I'm going to press on it firmly to adhere it to the door now to install the mounting plate to pull off the paper for the adhesive and then we're going to route the cable through the middle hole down here and lock it into place then align it with the door and make sure that through the screw holes you can also screw in through the latch now screw on the two screws all the way through into the exterior assembly and tighten those up make sure it's not stuck test out your key and then remove your key while the deadbolt is extended to move on to the next step now we are going to plug in the interior assembly by using the red part on the cable and aligning it with the plug on the red part of the assembly once plugged in make sure that torque shaft and the turn shaft line up on the bottom and then you can screw in the interior assembly with the two screws here now at this point we pretty much have everything installed the last thing is we need to make sure that the thumb turn is vertical and the deadbolt has been extended before we move on to the next step if not you might want to go through the instructions one more time like I didn't do now we are ready to install the batteries for this you want to only put in three batteries at first and before you put in the fourth battery you need to hold down the program button while you put in the battery when you put in the battery once it beeps then you let go of the program button and it will do its initial check once you turn it on and set it up properly this self check will then determine if it is a right open or a left open door now at this point if yours is acting like mine and it's not going in I actually had to take everything off and twist that torque blade around because I had set it up improperly too many times and and the third time I did it it all worked out just fine doing the program button again so if there are any issues again that might be the problem now the actual last step to installing the deadbolt is to install the included door strike with this door strike that I was already using it just didn't fit properly so I ended up removing this chiseling out a little bit so that I could get the lochley door strike to fit so it was a little bit abrasive and I didn't end up putting this little black piece in because I didn't want to dig too far down into my door I think it worked just fine without it now this step is optional but I did do it because it just wasn't fitting properly in to the door well now if you do buy the lochley smart lock and don't want to set it up with your phone or with your smart home you actually use the program button here on the back and you can follow these instructions up here to set up different access codes and different fingerprints to get into the door without setting it up with your phone so you can choose that I read the whole manual seemed pretty simple but if you carry on and link your phone to the smart lock the program button then becomes obsolete and so you can't use those instructions anymore so I'm going to skip past that step because these instructions are now useless now that the door shuts properly I'm going to screw on the battery cover and we have finished installing the lochley secure Pro now this install actually wasn't that bad the main issue I had was I took a break from when I started the install I had my door hole cut out and then I finished the install if I would have done it all at one time I don't think I would have really had any problems getting it installed so now we're gonna head into the lochley application to fully set up our device so here at the bottom we're going to sign up for an account again this will work on Android and iPhones so here we're going to accept and continue and then it's going to ask for all kinds of information you will need to put in your phone number so in case you forget your password they can send you that info and then you'll actually need to verify the number that it sends you to secure your account and I think that's a great way to do that now that we have secured our account we are ready to add our lock so here we're going to select add a new device here you have all the different options and here we are using the deadbolt edition and we have the lochley secure Pro so I'm going to select the top you can get this of course without the secure link now we are going to use that code that we had at the very beginning and link our device with our deadbolt and here it is saying that you do need to have bluetooth on you won't set this up in the bluetooth menu so if that pops up select cancel just make sure that your Bluetooth is on on your phone and now we can select get started and here's a notice that there is only one administrator per lock so if you have multiple people on multiple devices that want to use the administrator account just log in with the same account on both devices now once the administrator is logged in you can then go ahead and add different pin codes for different people and fingerprint and all that so we'll get to that in a minute but now we are ready to scan the serial barcode if for whatever reason it doesn't scan select can't scan at the bottom and you can type it in now here on Android is asking for device location for permission so I'm going to allow and then here you have your Lockley that shows up and then you just select it to connect and for some reason it didn't login the code so now I just need to type it in manually once it is accepted then you will put in an admin to code this is a six to eight digit code that you will use to unlock the secure Pro and then here you need to type it in again on this kind of pin genie pad to confirm the number that you put in and then here you're going to register your product so you choose exactly where you purchased it from and now your Lockley has been fully set up so here on the screen you can see that we are connected Bluetooth and when I tap on it it then unlocks the door and then when I press it again it locks the door so anytime you open the app on a register phone and you are able to do that when it is connected over bluetooth next we're gonna head into the settings here and we're going to change the name so there's originally a long name here I would suggest naming it something like your front door back door or even door if you only have one smart lock door in your house that just makes it easier when we add it to your smart assistant later on so there are actually five different ways in which you can unlock your lochley secure probe so the first way is to use the keypad so you just have your six to eight digit pin code that you put in press the button it unlocks the second way is to use the fingerprint with theory B fingerprint technology over here on the side so you just press your fingerprint on there and if it gets a good reading it will then unlock it now with my door here it being a left swing it is a little crowded right here so if your door swings the opposite way it's probably better in that area but I can fit my finger in here to unlock the door just like that the third way is to use the key so you can use the actual key that came with the lochley secure Pro or actually talk to a locksmith and have him swap mine out so it's the same key for this door as well as the doorknob now the fourth way is to just use your phone so you can open your phone up it will connect to bluetooth to the lochley secure Pro and then you can lock and unlock your phone that way and then the fifth way is to use the secure link with your smart home where you can ask it to lock your devices with the Amazonas system or Google assisted so now that we have that cover let me show you some other cool ways in which you can lock it with the application so when you open the app it will automatically connect to the lochley secure Pro over bluetooth when you are nearby and then you can quickly lock and unlock it now let's talk about how to have access through the lock basic here so here on the keypad display when you swipe over you now have the option to enter your pin code so you have two options you have the pin genie option or you just have the regular keypad option so you can see the pin genie option scrambles up the numbers so that you type in your PIN code or if you hold it down it just shows the numbers all in a row both options work great it just depends on if somebody's watching you from behind you may want to switch from one or the other and you do that by long pressing on the ok' button for three seconds now the pin genie option is actually really cool because not only does it scramble it up but because the numbers are all in just four sections it's pretty impossible to guess what I had actually entered in if you were just to watch me type it in now let's add a pin code the access tab on the bottom so here you have three different options you have a trusted user you have a guest user and then you have a one-time access code so first let's start with a trusted user so this would be somebody else in your family you always want them to have access through a pin code so here I'm going to add my wife and then I'm going to set a simple code so two two three three four four you're going to confirm the code and then select confirm and now you can quickly share this code with them and if they download the application they can add it into the app and it will let them remember their code and give them access so here in the lochley app they will just need to select the menu and then here you have the option for I received an invitation and this is where they would paste that ikki and then it would add it into their application now next we have guests so let's say you have somebody that's staying at your house for a temporary amount of time here you can come in and add the guest name and then you could also leave a guest message and they do need to add this code within 72 hours or it does expire so here you can do a certain period or you can have it reoccurring so let's choose a different period so let's say they can have access from now until two months later so we're going to select confirm and now there are two ways in which I can send them the access code so one I can just send them the code and they can use it and I can do that because I'm connected to bluetooth right now to the lock or I could say no generate ikki and then they can take that ikki and add it into the application and then it will give them access so I'm going to select know generate a key and then it will give me a code that they can enter into the app now lastly we have the option for a one-time access code so maybe somebody's coming over for a surprise party or something and you want them to access once here you can set how long you want it to be available and then it gives you a code that you can share once they come up to the keypad they can then enter the six digit code press the OK key and then it will let them in and then that has now expired and it disappears from the application next you have offline access codes so this allows you to give a code to anybody via text or email with actually having them download the application so this is an encrypted code so it's a very secure way to send the code and then you can also set the amount of time in which you allow them to have access through the lochley secure so down here at the bottom we are just going to select retrieve and access code and then here you have the option to create an access code with an expiration date or a single-use access code here you can give it a name so let's say we wanted to make this for an air B&B and then you're going to leave a message as well and then you're going to choose the period of time in which this code can be used so we can set the date and time and now here are all the instructions in sharing the access code so when you do send this access code they will need to enter it two times into the keypad for them to receive access and then here at the bottom you do have the share to your guests and it pulls up a little web page that you can share to them and then they will have all these instructions on how to enter and looking through the settings it doesn't look like there is a way to delete those offline access codes so you either need to use them or the period of time that you set them up needs to expire before they go away and now it is time to add our fingerprint so before we add the fingerprint there are a few things you do need to know make sure your finger is dry cover the entire fingerprint reader and make sure you slightly move it each time to have the best reading possible now here it also mentions some things that you need to know about fingerprints so if you have certain cracks or maybe your fingerprint just isn't made a certain way it might actually not work so here is all of their instructions and one of the other cool thing is you can have up to 99 different fingerprints so if you want to add all of your fingers or you have that many people living in your home you could do that so here I'm going to select next step and here I'm going to add a name and now the lochley secure is ready for me to add the fingerprint so there you can see the flashing six that's showing how many times you need to register your fingerprint so you're going to press your fingerprint on there till it beeps and then remove it and do it again until that number goes all the way down to zero and here you have a pass on-screen and now over here on the phone I'm going you select successfully added and select done and so now my fingerprint has been added so let's lock the door here and test this out on the kids okay so I'm gonna walk it alright now put your fingerprint lochley does recommend that kids 12 and under shouldn't use the fingerprint just because their fingers are still changing and they're growing but here I tested it out on my 8 year old she had no problem entering her fingerprint I tried the same thing on my 5 year old and while it was able to add her in it wasn't able to unlock the door and with the pin code my 5 year old wasn't able to enter one end but my 8 year old had no problems putting in a pin code and unlocking the door now for some final settings within the lock the application so here in the app you do have the option to turn on notifications for the door sensor here you can also change that original access code that I set up so if I wanted to adjust mine I would be able to do that and then here I have an auto lock time so you can make it so once you shut the door it will automatically lock after 5 seconds 30 seconds or you can disable that feature as well and then here we have touch screen locking so by default if you touch the touch screen it will then automatically lock at the top here you can turn that off so it's not going to lock the door when you press the keypad the second function here is door locked when keypad dim so it just as soon as the keypad dims it's going to lock the door and then the third option here is door locked after pressing the OK button so when you leave you press that button and then it locks and then of course if you have the automatic lock setting set it will automatically lock as well now if you do want to enhance the security of the lochley application here in the menu you can select app security and then here you can able a password for the app so nobody could come in here and adjust the settings or add or see your pin codes next we have the log tab so this will allow you to see every time the door has been unlocked so you can see when people come home and here you can see when I have unlocked it manually and that's all dependent on who you have added into the application on the back of the Lockley secured here you have the display keypad switch so when you turn this off it turns off the keypad on the outside so no one can actually enter a PIN code so that kind of adds some extra security without somebody trying to type in a bunch of options if the code is entered incorrectly three times the lock will actually enter Safe Mode and this will make it so that you can't access through the keypad unless you do one of the following to disable safe mode and to their correct code two times use the Lockley app use a physical key or use a registered fingerprint lock Lee says that the batteries will last for up to one year with normal use but when the batteries become low it will actually continually beep letting you know that you do need to replace the batteries but in the event that you do run out of battery and you don't have your key you can use a 9-volt battery on the bottom of the secure Pro to turn on the keypad to be able to get access into your home now the fifth way to unlock your door is through your smart home now to do that you will need this secure link so let's go through the secure link setup now so first we do need to plug it in so here it comes with the power brick and the USB dongle is the secure link and now we just need to plug it in within ten feet now my original plan was to kind of hide this in the room but even having it plugged in just around the corner from the door here I could not get it to work with the lochley secure Pro even though it uses a Bluetooth low-energy signal apparently around the corner it just wasn't able to work I tried in multiple places so I'm going to be using an extension cord to get this fully set up so you can see how it should work I'm going to select our T purchase connect now and here it gives you a full list of instructions on how to do this so the first thing is you need to have your phone already connected to your network and Bluetooth and now we're just going to long press here for two seconds lochley does recommend five seconds until it starts rapidly flashing here you're going to select the secure link add it to the Wi-Fi that you want it to be connected to and type in your password and then it is going to connect to your Wi-Fi network and now we are waiting for 15 seconds to make sure that the light turn solid red once it has done that we can then select yes it becomes solid red light and now it is scanning for the lock there it found the lock and so it has successfully connected now we are going to attach the door frame sensor by peeling off the adhesive on the back as well as the door sensor you should make sure that the arrows line up next to each other for the best performance and this will detect when the door is open and closed and there you can see it is indicated by the blue light that appears on the door frame sensor now that we have the door sensor installed we just need to select next here to pair the sensor here it is connecting with the secure link and now we are going to open and close the door to confirm that they work so here I'm going to open the door and now I'm going to close it and yes I have tried and it has successfully paired now that we have the link installed you can actually switch between being connected via bluetooth or over the link so here you see the blue Bluetooth icon that means I'm currently connected over Bluetooth now when I select the cloud I'm connected over the secure link now that we have the lock and the secure link setup I would suggest going into the menu and selecting firmware and then going through and making sure that you have the latest firmware update now you do need to make sure that you're connected directly to the lock via bluetooth to perform the update let me show you the final setup of the secure link so here I actually am using an extension cord and routing it up to near the door so that's in direct line-of-sight but it did actually allow my different assistants to work now I did one more test where I held the extension cord and moved around the room and the results are as long as it was in direct line-of-sight you could move seven feet away or so you know 10 feets pushing it I have other Bluetooth Low Energy hubs in the home that can work much further away I wish this could be incorporated the same way those are but if you have a plug that's too far away it just won't function with the door sensor and the secure link now let's connect luckily to our Google assistant so here we're gonna head into the Google home application selecting the plus select setup new device and then here have something already set and then you could search through this list or I'm just going to type lochley into the search bar there we see a Lockley smart home and then I'm just going to link my account that I set up in the beginning now we need to authorize Lockley to use the Google assistant and we are going to set a pin code so if you ask Google assistant to unlock the door it will ask for this code to be able to unlock it and for demo purposes I'm going to use zero zero zero zero now that it has linked at the bottom of the Google home app here we can see that we have Lockley now this is before I change the name I'm going to add it to my home and then I'm going to move device to a specific room so here I'm going to put it in the entryway and so here we have the Lockley lock so in the Google home application you actually can't lock or unlock it there's no buttons there that would be nice to have but you just see the lock here and then you are able to control it with Google assistant and with the smart displays with the lock Lee added to Google assistant here on the nest Hub at the top here you can see that it says front door is locked which is pretty cool and you also have the option to view the lock and unlock it in the home view section here now when you use it to unlock you do need to put in the pin code that you set up and then it will unlock your Lockley one interesting thing I found out about Google assistant and smart locks is if you try to unlock with Google assistant by voice you are not able to unlock the door you need to have a smart display to be able to type in the pin code also if I didn't have a great connection with this CareLink I would receive this error indicating it couldn't connect to Lockley usually it would still lock the lock but hopefully fixing the range of a lock would also fix this air as well ok let's move on to Amazon's assistance so here in the Amazon application you need to go into the menu you need to go to skills and games and then you need to search for Lockley here is the Lockley skill and so we need to enable to use and now we need to sign into our account and then here we need to authorize access and now when we go back to the devices here it's going to for new devices and here at the top you have a section that says locks and so I can tap on lochley and here in the settings you have a few different options so at the top here you have the option to unlock with the app here you have the option to unlock by voice and when you turn that on it then lets you choose your pin code in here so here we're going to choose 0 0 0 0 and we're going to type it in two times and now we need to verify our Amazon password to make that adjustment and then down here you can adjust the name or the type it is so now that we have it set up let's go ahead and try by voice what's your voice code for door unlocking hang on the door is unlocked lock the door locking hang on the door is locked yay we had two successful attempts unlocking and locking the door now the good thing about Amazon's assistant I was able to use my Amazon speaker here as well as using Amazon assistant on my phone which is really great that it worked both ways now that being said even though I was able to get Amazon assistant to work much more I also received this error few times sorry front door is not responding I do like the in the Amazon assistant app you do have manual controls where you can tap to lock and unlock right inside the application as long as you have it turned on we've been using the lock they secure Pro for a few weeks now and I'm really impressed with the overall security of this product now I do want to mention there are really two parts to this review first we have the secure lock and then we have the secure link which gives it the smart home function so I'm going to break those up and talk about them separately first let's talk about the secure Pro so this device is so smart and so functional now the main reason to get this is you don't want to have to worry about having your key with you whenever you leave your home so you can easily enter your home without any additional key or anything like that and the lochley secure Pro can do it in so many different ways first you have the Bluetooth functionality so if you pull out your phone you can go into the app and unlock it now even though that's there I rarely used it because there are so many other options next you have the pin genie technology so right here on the faceplate you can type in your PIN I love that it changes every time you turn it on so if somebody was watching you they wouldn't know what your PIN is that's just so smart to have that happen the next way is with fingerprint I had absolutely no problem using my fingerprint to be able to unlock it right here on the side every once in a while maybe it didn't work the very first time I tried just wait a few seconds try again it would always let me in and then the other way to use the secure Pro is to use your key so I had this rekey so it works with all the keys that I already have and that worked great if I ever wanted to use that but I never did because the fingerprint worked so well for me now as for a smart secure lock this really has so many features compared to many of the other smart locks that are out there I actually just purchased the wise lock to test it out and I had to buy another keypad over here on the side that just doesn't look really great so I like that this is an all-in-one device everything is in one place and it looks really good now the only real problem that I do have with the lock itself is sometimes when my kids slam the door maybe it fixed itself this used to come off every once a while and so I'd have to come and put it on but so far it's been working great so I really like the design everything works great about the secure lock now moving on to the secure link so the secure link gives it the ability to use over the internet so you can lock your door or unlock your door when it's connected to the secure link now the main issue I've had with that is its range so it does say it's up to ten feet but here even around the corner it wasn't able to pick up this Kure link which is a bit disappointing I ended up using this extension cord so that it could see the lock and it's nice that I was able to get it out of the way so you don't see the secure link but when it works it's really great you then have all the functionality from your Amazon assistant you can lock it unlock with echo speaker or you can also use use the Amazon assistant on your phone and lock and unlock it with your pin code now when using Google assistant with the secure link you do have a different feature set available now this is because of Google assistants limitations when working with smart locks so if you want to lock the door at any time you can do it with your smart display or Google assistant on your phone that work really well but if you want to unlock the door with Google assistant on your phone you are not able to do that because it is not able to accept that pin code if you try to unlock it on your smart display you do have the option to type in the pin code so that works just fine again that's a Google assistant implementation why that doesn't work but everything worked great on Lockleys end now on the smart display it does show if the door is locked or unlocked every once in a while I saw that that was incorrect because I wasn't having a great connection with the secure link but as long as that was working well it seemed to tell the exact status of the lock overall I'm very impressed with the security features that are available on the lochley secure pro it's amazing that this can do so much all in one device I'm actually thinking about picking up the latch model for my shed in the backyard so that I don't need to worry about having a key with me when I'm trying to do yard work I can easily use the fingerprint to unlock it and it keeps all of my tools secured now if you're interested in picking up the luckily secure pearl I'll leave a link to it in the description below Lockley was also nice enough to give you a $20 discount I'll leave that code below as well so if you have any further questions about this or the secure link let me know in the comments below and if you'd like to check out some of my other smart home videos you can see those over here on the side thank you so much for watching we'll see on the next onein today's video we're going to check out the lochley secure pro this is a smart lock that allows you to enter your home in many different ways with pin genie technology a fingerprint on the side or even a key let's get started everybody welcome to tech with Bret where I help tech work for you lochley reached out to me and asked if I wanted to check out their secure Pro deadbolt edition so they did send out this product so I could check it out for you guys today and through this video I'm going to be setting it up and show you everything that it can do now the first thing that I really wanted in a smart lock is the ability to lock it with Google assistant or with Amazon's assistant so this does have that you also receive a wireless door sensor it has advanced 3d fingerprint technology and then inside this particular box it does include the secure link so it does give you that option for a smart assistant which is really nice so I'll be using this at home but this is a great option to lock your office or maybe a rental space and it does work over Bluetooth so looking at the side of the box it talks about a few things it can do it has Universal Direction installation so you could install this on a deadbolt that uses the right or the left side it's packed with the latest technology it has offline access codes the world's first secure digital touch screen advanced 3d fingerprint access premium grade quality easy installation secure link Wi-Fi included and then it will work on Apple devices as well as Android devices so you will need to download the lochley application and then here on the back it just shows the deadbolt shows you a little bit more about what this is all about and lastly over here on the side it shows us everything that is included here in the box again it also comes with the door sensor as well as the Wi-Fi bridge and this model that I'm using today is the satin nickel but it also comes in Venetian bronze as well as matte black now you also have the option to get this in a latch model and you have the same color options there set nickel the Venetian bronze as well as matte black I decided to go with the satin nickel version and because it didn't match my doorknob I will be replacing that as well so let's check out what's inside the box so here inside the box you have some information about lochley and then here you have all of the installation manuals and everything you need now this is a very important part here you have the initial code so this code allows you to activate your lochley device and if you ever need a factory reset you will need that code again to get it set up now here we have the back plate so this will go on the inside of your door and this is where you will place the batteries inside here and how you can lock and unlock your door inside here's all the screws the batteries as well as the key and everything that we'll need to get this installed and then here we have the door sensor and the secure link USB that gives you a Lockley secure Pro it's smart functionality and then here is the deadbolt pretty hefty nice size really excited to get it installed so not only does it have the fingerprint sensor right here on the side to get in but here on the faceplate you can add your pin code using its pin genie technology and then if those fell for any reason you have this option to use a key to entry and then down here if the battery dies you can put a 9-volt battery up to this to power it up so that you could actually gain access if the batteries run out of juice on the inside and that is where we will put in the batteries to get it all set up and then on the back pretty simple you can just lock and unlock it like that so let's go and get it installed everything you need to know is contained within the manuals here so there is a manual for the installation as well as for using the lochley secure Pro as well as there's plenty of options to go and get help you can actually go to this build application that will run you step-by-step in how to get it installed so I used a combination of all of those but I highly recommend following along and reading each page twice before you go to the next step so you don't miss anything as I did a few times during the install so here are all the different buttons you have on the device and you will need a screwdriver to get installed it comes with the battery and all the other things that you will need now the first step to installing the lochley secure Pro is actually to take off your old deadbolt and see what size of hole that you have in your door this step I did not do so right now while you're watching this video go ahead and do this to see if the lochley secure Pro will fit your door after removing my deadbolt I found that I only had an inch and a half dead bolt hole where the lochley secured pro the deadbolt or the latch requires a 2 and 1/8 inch hole so for the next step I needed to figure out how to get my door hole to be bigger so like any home improvement project I headed down to Home Depot and purchased a 2 and 1/8 inch hole saw and then I taped up this little guide that luckily provided and I quickly found out that this is not the way that you drill a bigger hole in your door you'd need a few more tools to be able to do that so after putting a hole in the piece of paper putting some scratches in my door and getting my drill bit stuck I decided to call in the pros so I actually called around to a few different door places and they said they couldn't do this but I ended up calling a locksmith who said that he had the tools to come over and do that so with the right drill bit and this little door anchor he was able to quickly drill a hole in my door that was 2 and 1/8 inch size not only that but I was able to have him rekey my lochley secure Pro so it is the same key that I used on all the doors in my house so I don't need to have a separate key just for lochley now that of course is not as secure as having different keys for your home but I wanted everything to be all one in the same so it's nice that you do have the option if you want to rekey the lock and now we have the right size hole to install the lock ly secure Pro when installing the deadbolt make sure that you have the deadbolt extended or you're gonna have a bad time and you're gonna have to redo it three times not that I have any experience but that is something that you need to know next we are going to adjust the deadbolt so the latch full sit Center on my new door hole so there is a 2 and 3/4 inch length or a two and 3/8 inch length so you will use both hands here to twist it apart and to put it back together until it is aligned properly once the Plus latch hole sit Center and the deadbolt is able to go in all the way we're ready to screw in the deadbolt now I did need to make some modifications first so that my deadbolt would fit flush on my door so I simply used a chisel to chisel that out a little bit to get it to fit flush and then I was able to screw it in next we are going to install the exterior assembly first route the cable underneath the latch so there is an adhesive strip at the top that you can just place on the door and it will stick in but if you want to you can screw a hole in your door and screw that in and then we need to make sure that this rod is set in a vertical position and then we're going to stick it through the latch like so and then we're going to make sure that it is aligned with the door and then I'm going to press on it firmly to adhere it to the door now to install the mounting plate to pull off the paper for the adhesive and then we're going to route the cable through the middle hole down here and lock it into place then align it with the door and make sure that through the screw holes you can also screw in through the latch now screw on the two screws all the way through into the exterior assembly and tighten those up make sure it's not stuck test out your key and then remove your key while the deadbolt is extended to move on to the next step now we are going to plug in the interior assembly by using the red part on the cable and aligning it with the plug on the red part of the assembly once plugged in make sure that torque shaft and the turn shaft line up on the bottom and then you can screw in the interior assembly with the two screws here now at this point we pretty much have everything installed the last thing is we need to make sure that the thumb turn is vertical and the deadbolt has been extended before we move on to the next step if not you might want to go through the instructions one more time like I didn't do now we are ready to install the batteries for this you want to only put in three batteries at first and before you put in the fourth battery you need to hold down the program button while you put in the battery when you put in the battery once it beeps then you let go of the program button and it will do its initial check once you turn it on and set it up properly this self check will then determine if it is a right open or a left open door now at this point if yours is acting like mine and it's not going in I actually had to take everything off and twist that torque blade around because I had set it up improperly too many times and and the third time I did it it all worked out just fine doing the program button again so if there are any issues again that might be the problem now the actual last step to installing the deadbolt is to install the included door strike with this door strike that I was already using it just didn't fit properly so I ended up removing this chiseling out a little bit so that I could get the lochley door strike to fit so it was a little bit abrasive and I didn't end up putting this little black piece in because I didn't want to dig too far down into my door I think it worked just fine without it now this step is optional but I did do it because it just wasn't fitting properly in to the door well now if you do buy the lochley smart lock and don't want to set it up with your phone or with your smart home you actually use the program button here on the back and you can follow these instructions up here to set up different access codes and different fingerprints to get into the door without setting it up with your phone so you can choose that I read the whole manual seemed pretty simple but if you carry on and link your phone to the smart lock the program button then becomes obsolete and so you can't use those instructions anymore so I'm going to skip past that step because these instructions are now useless now that the door shuts properly I'm going to screw on the battery cover and we have finished installing the lochley secure Pro now this install actually wasn't that bad the main issue I had was I took a break from when I started the install I had my door hole cut out and then I finished the install if I would have done it all at one time I don't think I would have really had any problems getting it installed so now we're gonna head into the lochley application to fully set up our device so here at the bottom we're going to sign up for an account again this will work on Android and iPhones so here we're going to accept and continue and then it's going to ask for all kinds of information you will need to put in your phone number so in case you forget your password they can send you that info and then you'll actually need to verify the number that it sends you to secure your account and I think that's a great way to do that now that we have secured our account we are ready to add our lock so here we're going to select add a new device here you have all the different options and here we are using the deadbolt edition and we have the lochley secure Pro so I'm going to select the top you can get this of course without the secure link now we are going to use that code that we had at the very beginning and link our device with our deadbolt and here it is saying that you do need to have bluetooth on you won't set this up in the bluetooth menu so if that pops up select cancel just make sure that your Bluetooth is on on your phone and now we can select get started and here's a notice that there is only one administrator per lock so if you have multiple people on multiple devices that want to use the administrator account just log in with the same account on both devices now once the administrator is logged in you can then go ahead and add different pin codes for different people and fingerprint and all that so we'll get to that in a minute but now we are ready to scan the serial barcode if for whatever reason it doesn't scan select can't scan at the bottom and you can type it in now here on Android is asking for device location for permission so I'm going to allow and then here you have your Lockley that shows up and then you just select it to connect and for some reason it didn't login the code so now I just need to type it in manually once it is accepted then you will put in an admin to code this is a six to eight digit code that you will use to unlock the secure Pro and then here you need to type it in again on this kind of pin genie pad to confirm the number that you put in and then here you're going to register your product so you choose exactly where you purchased it from and now your Lockley has been fully set up so here on the screen you can see that we are connected Bluetooth and when I tap on it it then unlocks the door and then when I press it again it locks the door so anytime you open the app on a register phone and you are able to do that when it is connected over bluetooth next we're gonna head into the settings here and we're going to change the name so there's originally a long name here I would suggest naming it something like your front door back door or even door if you only have one smart lock door in your house that just makes it easier when we add it to your smart assistant later on so there are actually five different ways in which you can unlock your lochley secure probe so the first way is to use the keypad so you just have your six to eight digit pin code that you put in press the button it unlocks the second way is to use the fingerprint with theory B fingerprint technology over here on the side so you just press your fingerprint on there and if it gets a good reading it will then unlock it now with my door here it being a left swing it is a little crowded right here so if your door swings the opposite way it's probably better in that area but I can fit my finger in here to unlock the door just like that the third way is to use the key so you can use the actual key that came with the lochley secure Pro or actually talk to a locksmith and have him swap mine out so it's the same key for this door as well as the doorknob now the fourth way is to just use your phone so you can open your phone up it will connect to bluetooth to the lochley secure Pro and then you can lock and unlock your phone that way and then the fifth way is to use the secure link with your smart home where you can ask it to lock your devices with the Amazonas system or Google assisted so now that we have that cover let me show you some other cool ways in which you can lock it with the application so when you open the app it will automatically connect to the lochley secure Pro over bluetooth when you are nearby and then you can quickly lock and unlock it now let's talk about how to have access through the lock basic here so here on the keypad display when you swipe over you now have the option to enter your pin code so you have two options you have the pin genie option or you just have the regular keypad option so you can see the pin genie option scrambles up the numbers so that you type in your PIN code or if you hold it down it just shows the numbers all in a row both options work great it just depends on if somebody's watching you from behind you may want to switch from one or the other and you do that by long pressing on the ok' button for three seconds now the pin genie option is actually really cool because not only does it scramble it up but because the numbers are all in just four sections it's pretty impossible to guess what I had actually entered in if you were just to watch me type it in now let's add a pin code the access tab on the bottom so here you have three different options you have a trusted user you have a guest user and then you have a one-time access code so first let's start with a trusted user so this would be somebody else in your family you always want them to have access through a pin code so here I'm going to add my wife and then I'm going to set a simple code so two two three three four four you're going to confirm the code and then select confirm and now you can quickly share this code with them and if they download the application they can add it into the app and it will let them remember their code and give them access so here in the lochley app they will just need to select the menu and then here you have the option for I received an invitation and this is where they would paste that ikki and then it would add it into their application now next we have guests so let's say you have somebody that's staying at your house for a temporary amount of time here you can come in and add the guest name and then you could also leave a guest message and they do need to add this code within 72 hours or it does expire so here you can do a certain period or you can have it reoccurring so let's choose a different period so let's say they can have access from now until two months later so we're going to select confirm and now there are two ways in which I can send them the access code so one I can just send them the code and they can use it and I can do that because I'm connected to bluetooth right now to the lock or I could say no generate ikki and then they can take that ikki and add it into the application and then it will give them access so I'm going to select know generate a key and then it will give me a code that they can enter into the app now lastly we have the option for a one-time access code so maybe somebody's coming over for a surprise party or something and you want them to access once here you can set how long you want it to be available and then it gives you a code that you can share once they come up to the keypad they can then enter the six digit code press the OK key and then it will let them in and then that has now expired and it disappears from the application next you have offline access codes so this allows you to give a code to anybody via text or email with actually having them download the application so this is an encrypted code so it's a very secure way to send the code and then you can also set the amount of time in which you allow them to have access through the lochley secure so down here at the bottom we are just going to select retrieve and access code and then here you have the option to create an access code with an expiration date or a single-use access code here you can give it a name so let's say we wanted to make this for an air B&B and then you're going to leave a message as well and then you're going to choose the period of time in which this code can be used so we can set the date and time and now here are all the instructions in sharing the access code so when you do send this access code they will need to enter it two times into the keypad for them to receive access and then here at the bottom you do have the share to your guests and it pulls up a little web page that you can share to them and then they will have all these instructions on how to enter and looking through the settings it doesn't look like there is a way to delete those offline access codes so you either need to use them or the period of time that you set them up needs to expire before they go away and now it is time to add our fingerprint so before we add the fingerprint there are a few things you do need to know make sure your finger is dry cover the entire fingerprint reader and make sure you slightly move it each time to have the best reading possible now here it also mentions some things that you need to know about fingerprints so if you have certain cracks or maybe your fingerprint just isn't made a certain way it might actually not work so here is all of their instructions and one of the other cool thing is you can have up to 99 different fingerprints so if you want to add all of your fingers or you have that many people living in your home you could do that so here I'm going to select next step and here I'm going to add a name and now the lochley secure is ready for me to add the fingerprint so there you can see the flashing six that's showing how many times you need to register your fingerprint so you're going to press your fingerprint on there till it beeps and then remove it and do it again until that number goes all the way down to zero and here you have a pass on-screen and now over here on the phone I'm going you select successfully added and select done and so now my fingerprint has been added so let's lock the door here and test this out on the kids okay so I'm gonna walk it alright now put your fingerprint lochley does recommend that kids 12 and under shouldn't use the fingerprint just because their fingers are still changing and they're growing but here I tested it out on my 8 year old she had no problem entering her fingerprint I tried the same thing on my 5 year old and while it was able to add her in it wasn't able to unlock the door and with the pin code my 5 year old wasn't able to enter one end but my 8 year old had no problems putting in a pin code and unlocking the door now for some final settings within the lock the application so here in the app you do have the option to turn on notifications for the door sensor here you can also change that original access code that I set up so if I wanted to adjust mine I would be able to do that and then here I have an auto lock time so you can make it so once you shut the door it will automatically lock after 5 seconds 30 seconds or you can disable that feature as well and then here we have touch screen locking so by default if you touch the touch screen it will then automatically lock at the top here you can turn that off so it's not going to lock the door when you press the keypad the second function here is door locked when keypad dim so it just as soon as the keypad dims it's going to lock the door and then the third option here is door locked after pressing the OK button so when you leave you press that button and then it locks and then of course if you have the automatic lock setting set it will automatically lock as well now if you do want to enhance the security of the lochley application here in the menu you can select app security and then here you can able a password for the app so nobody could come in here and adjust the settings or add or see your pin codes next we have the log tab so this will allow you to see every time the door has been unlocked so you can see when people come home and here you can see when I have unlocked it manually and that's all dependent on who you have added into the application on the back of the Lockley secured here you have the display keypad switch so when you turn this off it turns off the keypad on the outside so no one can actually enter a PIN code so that kind of adds some extra security without somebody trying to type in a bunch of options if the code is entered incorrectly three times the lock will actually enter Safe Mode and this will make it so that you can't access through the keypad unless you do one of the following to disable safe mode and to their correct code two times use the Lockley app use a physical key or use a registered fingerprint lock Lee says that the batteries will last for up to one year with normal use but when the batteries become low it will actually continually beep letting you know that you do need to replace the batteries but in the event that you do run out of battery and you don't have your key you can use a 9-volt battery on the bottom of the secure Pro to turn on the keypad to be able to get access into your home now the fifth way to unlock your door is through your smart home now to do that you will need this secure link so let's go through the secure link setup now so first we do need to plug it in so here it comes with the power brick and the USB dongle is the secure link and now we just need to plug it in within ten feet now my original plan was to kind of hide this in the room but even having it plugged in just around the corner from the door here I could not get it to work with the lochley secure Pro even though it uses a Bluetooth low-energy signal apparently around the corner it just wasn't able to work I tried in multiple places so I'm going to be using an extension cord to get this fully set up so you can see how it should work I'm going to select our T purchase connect now and here it gives you a full list of instructions on how to do this so the first thing is you need to have your phone already connected to your network and Bluetooth and now we're just going to long press here for two seconds lochley does recommend five seconds until it starts rapidly flashing here you're going to select the secure link add it to the Wi-Fi that you want it to be connected to and type in your password and then it is going to connect to your Wi-Fi network and now we are waiting for 15 seconds to make sure that the light turn solid red once it has done that we can then select yes it becomes solid red light and now it is scanning for the lock there it found the lock and so it has successfully connected now we are going to attach the door frame sensor by peeling off the adhesive on the back as well as the door sensor you should make sure that the arrows line up next to each other for the best performance and this will detect when the door is open and closed and there you can see it is indicated by the blue light that appears on the door frame sensor now that we have the door sensor installed we just need to select next here to pair the sensor here it is connecting with the secure link and now we are going to open and close the door to confirm that they work so here I'm going to open the door and now I'm going to close it and yes I have tried and it has successfully paired now that we have the link installed you can actually switch between being connected via bluetooth or over the link so here you see the blue Bluetooth icon that means I'm currently connected over Bluetooth now when I select the cloud I'm connected over the secure link now that we have the lock and the secure link setup I would suggest going into the menu and selecting firmware and then going through and making sure that you have the latest firmware update now you do need to make sure that you're connected directly to the lock via bluetooth to perform the update let me show you the final setup of the secure link so here I actually am using an extension cord and routing it up to near the door so that's in direct line-of-sight but it did actually allow my different assistants to work now I did one more test where I held the extension cord and moved around the room and the results are as long as it was in direct line-of-sight you could move seven feet away or so you know 10 feets pushing it I have other Bluetooth Low Energy hubs in the home that can work much further away I wish this could be incorporated the same way those are but if you have a plug that's too far away it just won't function with the door sensor and the secure link now let's connect luckily to our Google assistant so here we're gonna head into the Google home application selecting the plus select setup new device and then here have something already set and then you could search through this list or I'm just going to type lochley into the search bar there we see a Lockley smart home and then I'm just going to link my account that I set up in the beginning now we need to authorize Lockley to use the Google assistant and we are going to set a pin code so if you ask Google assistant to unlock the door it will ask for this code to be able to unlock it and for demo purposes I'm going to use zero zero zero zero now that it has linked at the bottom of the Google home app here we can see that we have Lockley now this is before I change the name I'm going to add it to my home and then I'm going to move device to a specific room so here I'm going to put it in the entryway and so here we have the Lockley lock so in the Google home application you actually can't lock or unlock it there's no buttons there that would be nice to have but you just see the lock here and then you are able to control it with Google assistant and with the smart displays with the lock Lee added to Google assistant here on the nest Hub at the top here you can see that it says front door is locked which is pretty cool and you also have the option to view the lock and unlock it in the home view section here now when you use it to unlock you do need to put in the pin code that you set up and then it will unlock your Lockley one interesting thing I found out about Google assistant and smart locks is if you try to unlock with Google assistant by voice you are not able to unlock the door you need to have a smart display to be able to type in the pin code also if I didn't have a great connection with this CareLink I would receive this error indicating it couldn't connect to Lockley usually it would still lock the lock but hopefully fixing the range of a lock would also fix this air as well ok let's move on to Amazon's assistance so here in the Amazon application you need to go into the menu you need to go to skills and games and then you need to search for Lockley here is the Lockley skill and so we need to enable to use and now we need to sign into our account and then here we need to authorize access and now when we go back to the devices here it's going to for new devices and here at the top you have a section that says locks and so I can tap on lochley and here in the settings you have a few different options so at the top here you have the option to unlock with the app here you have the option to unlock by voice and when you turn that on it then lets you choose your pin code in here so here we're going to choose 0 0 0 0 and we're going to type it in two times and now we need to verify our Amazon password to make that adjustment and then down here you can adjust the name or the type it is so now that we have it set up let's go ahead and try by voice what's your voice code for door unlocking hang on the door is unlocked lock the door locking hang on the door is locked yay we had two successful attempts unlocking and locking the door now the good thing about Amazon's assistant I was able to use my Amazon speaker here as well as using Amazon assistant on my phone which is really great that it worked both ways now that being said even though I was able to get Amazon assistant to work much more I also received this error few times sorry front door is not responding I do like the in the Amazon assistant app you do have manual controls where you can tap to lock and unlock right inside the application as long as you have it turned on we've been using the lock they secure Pro for a few weeks now and I'm really impressed with the overall security of this product now I do want to mention there are really two parts to this review first we have the secure lock and then we have the secure link which gives it the smart home function so I'm going to break those up and talk about them separately first let's talk about the secure Pro so this device is so smart and so functional now the main reason to get this is you don't want to have to worry about having your key with you whenever you leave your home so you can easily enter your home without any additional key or anything like that and the lochley secure Pro can do it in so many different ways first you have the Bluetooth functionality so if you pull out your phone you can go into the app and unlock it now even though that's there I rarely used it because there are so many other options next you have the pin genie technology so right here on the faceplate you can type in your PIN I love that it changes every time you turn it on so if somebody was watching you they wouldn't know what your PIN is that's just so smart to have that happen the next way is with fingerprint I had absolutely no problem using my fingerprint to be able to unlock it right here on the side every once in a while maybe it didn't work the very first time I tried just wait a few seconds try again it would always let me in and then the other way to use the secure Pro is to use your key so I had this rekey so it works with all the keys that I already have and that worked great if I ever wanted to use that but I never did because the fingerprint worked so well for me now as for a smart secure lock this really has so many features compared to many of the other smart locks that are out there I actually just purchased the wise lock to test it out and I had to buy another keypad over here on the side that just doesn't look really great so I like that this is an all-in-one device everything is in one place and it looks really good now the only real problem that I do have with the lock itself is sometimes when my kids slam the door maybe it fixed itself this used to come off every once a while and so I'd have to come and put it on but so far it's been working great so I really like the design everything works great about the secure lock now moving on to the secure link so the secure link gives it the ability to use over the internet so you can lock your door or unlock your door when it's connected to the secure link now the main issue I've had with that is its range so it does say it's up to ten feet but here even around the corner it wasn't able to pick up this Kure link which is a bit disappointing I ended up using this extension cord so that it could see the lock and it's nice that I was able to get it out of the way so you don't see the secure link but when it works it's really great you then have all the functionality from your Amazon assistant you can lock it unlock with echo speaker or you can also use use the Amazon assistant on your phone and lock and unlock it with your pin code now when using Google assistant with the secure link you do have a different feature set available now this is because of Google assistants limitations when working with smart locks so if you want to lock the door at any time you can do it with your smart display or Google assistant on your phone that work really well but if you want to unlock the door with Google assistant on your phone you are not able to do that because it is not able to accept that pin code if you try to unlock it on your smart display you do have the option to type in the pin code so that works just fine again that's a Google assistant implementation why that doesn't work but everything worked great on Lockleys end now on the smart display it does show if the door is locked or unlocked every once in a while I saw that that was incorrect because I wasn't having a great connection with the secure link but as long as that was working well it seemed to tell the exact status of the lock overall I'm very impressed with the security features that are available on the lochley secure pro it's amazing that this can do so much all in one device I'm actually thinking about picking up the latch model for my shed in the backyard so that I don't need to worry about having a key with me when I'm trying to do yard work I can easily use the fingerprint to unlock it and it keeps all of my tools secured now if you're interested in picking up the luckily secure pearl I'll leave a link to it in the description below Lockley was also nice enough to give you a $20 discount I'll leave that code below as well so if you have any further questions about this or the secure link let me know in the comments below and if you'd like to check out some of my other smart home videos you can see those over here on the side thank you so much for watching we'll see on the next one\n"
