**A Troublesome Experience with a 19-Year-Old Car**
I recently had a frustrating experience with my 19-year-old car, which has been with me for over two decades. With over 260,000 miles on it, I expected some wear and tear, but what I got was a complete overhaul of its parts. One day, while driving, the car started to jerk and lurch when I pressed the gas during engine braking. The RPMs would decrease, giving me a strange sensation that the car's engine was breaking. I was taken aback by this unexpected behavior, especially since my loaner vehicle from the dealership didn't exhibit the same issue.
**Contacting Subaru of America**
I decided to take action and contact Subaru of America to report my concerns. I explained the situation to them, highlighting the fact that my loaner vehicle didn't experience the same problem. However, instead of taking immediate action to diagnose and repair the issue, the representative at Subaru told me that it was "normal" behavior for the car. This response was disappointing, especially since modern cars rely heavily on computerized systems for traction control, safety features, and anti-lock braking systems.
**The Importance of Independent Verification**
I realized that I needed to verify my experience with independent evidence. To do this, I decided to make a video showcasing the problem. I recorded footage of my car jerking and lurching when driving, as well as when pressing the gas during engine braking. This visual proof would serve as an objective record of the issue, which I could use to demonstrate to Subaru that it was not just my imagination.
**A Cautionary Tale: Loan Application Scams**
As I was dealing with the hassle of getting a new car diagnosed and repaired, I came across a disturbing news story about a used car dealer in Kansas City who was caught stealing people's loan application information. The scammer, Chris King, had been pulling off his scheme for over two years, using the stolen information to take out loans and keep the money without paying it back. He eventually got caught and was sentenced to four years in federal prison without possibility of parole, with a fine of $647,000.
**The Importance of Caution When Providing Loan Application Information**
This experience served as a stark reminder to be cautious when providing loan application information to any company. I realized that this type of scam is all too common and can have severe consequences for individuals who fall victim to it. It's essential to verify the authenticity of lenders before sharing personal financial information, especially for loan applications.
**Conclusion**
My experience with my 19-year-old car was a frustrating reminder that even after two decades, our vehicles can still break down or behave erratically. By taking action and providing independent verification, I was able to get to the bottom of the issue and potentially help others who may be experiencing similar problems. This cautionary tale about loan application scams serves as a stark reminder to exercise extreme caution when sharing personal financial information with any company.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enrev up your engines Thomas Taylor shot an email here's what he says hey Scotty I love your channel I have a 2021 Kia Soul it's a company vehicle with 24 000 kilometers on it now it needs a new engine even though we maintained it to their specifications it is the fifth one in our Fleet to have to have the engine replaced but the company is now paying me to drop my ultra reliable 2004 Acura MDX that has 350 000 kilometers on it until the key is fixed but worn out Honda that still goes good versus a Kia that's only got 24 000 kilometers on them buy a Honda product buy a Toyota product don't buy a Korean Kia younger they kind of own each other this is the same company basically you get crap quality this is the fifth one to have an engine go out on this company's Fleet of them I bet they wish they never bought that Fleet of vehicles right you know it's it's ridiculous the poor quality that that company has to keep saying they're making them better these were all 2021s those aren't old cars no way should a car engine wear out that fast but with the key is they do and here's more proof Nara says I got a 2014 Honda I have noise in my front passenger wheel well it flaps and bangs only when it's sad overnight when I drive after it's that it goes away after a few minutes you say it's your front passenger wheel well right do this take that tire put it in the back put the back one in the front if the noise moves to the back it's just a bad tire I see that all the time when the tires go bad when you sit overnight the belts say they're getting bad they stretch then when you take off flap flap flap but once it gets rolling they stretch out they don't flap anymore you probably just have a bad tire now do look there might be some Oddball thing like a piece of uh plastic grocery bag stuck in there that's flapping and then it stops flapping you got something wrapped around the axle lots of things could do it but from my experience it's normally a tire if you got a plastic bag great take it off pull the pieces up but normally it's the tires stretched it's worn it's not round it flaps until you start spinning then it's round again I've seen that happen so many Thompson crawl under there first you might be a plastic bag on your axle what the heck but if not put that tire in the back the noise moves to the back just buy another tire Bluebird Bob says the Toyota dealer didn't use the right oil grade that says on the cap of my Toyota I have a 4Runner which calls for 5W30 it says it on the cap the Toyota dealer put in 5W20 they didn't put full synthetic as we talked about they said they don't carry 530 anymore of course it's bad for your engine they're just taking inconvenience if you didn't carry 5 30 anymore so we'll put Five Points it was made for 5 30. it's a heavier go forget don't ever go to them again learn how to change your oil like I show people in my videos right then you get it done right or go to any oil change place they will sell you five w30 oil plenty of places have it solid or buy it and do it yourself their inconvenience of well we don't have that oil anymore well poo poo them don't go there anymore they're full of crap it was designed for 5 30. do not use 520. put in what they're designed for the engineers do that for a reason and they're just well we don't care anymore so put this other oil in a bunch of nonsense she shows you the crap that these dealerships tried pulling on people Wilmette 11 says I have rough acceleration I start my car and it'll go to 4 000 RPM off the Jump gets kind of loud then eventually it works its way now and it's rough when it accelerates check engine light came on and AutoZone said the fuel system had a problem if it's going way up too high doesn't sound like a particular fuel problem I'd want the actual color I got a question to ask me put in the cold year in the back of the car and the code like po83s do whatever put the code then I can do a very good analysis of it you got to give me the code because without the code I'm Flying Blind my experience with Volvos if they go real high RPMs and then later they go down one you're somewhat one they have weak Transmissions that do wear out quite often so it could easily be your transmission starting to wear out it's a 2000 so I mean it's you know 24 year old vehicle if that's the case now on the other hand if you do have a fuel problem the main problem of Volvos are the mass airflow sensors so have a mechanic like me check it it's easy we got a machine we plug it in we look at the data and if it's off you just buy a new one plug it in and Away you go it's a very simple fix if that is the problem but generally that won't make them go all the way up to four thousand that's normally really a transmission failure problem disaster Earl says my brake pedal sinks to the floor I got a 99 Chevy 100 000 miles the master cylinder is going bone dry when I press down it sinks to the floor and it's leaking under the center of the car but not leaking from any of the tires all right you say the center of the car generally when I do that they sink and you're losing fluid and you don't leak in any of the wheels it usually means your brake master cylinder is leaking so look at your brake master cylinder that bolts it to the booster and if you see at the back side between the booster and the master It Bolts and fluids coming out then you need a master cylinder and then quick take it off and suck all the fluid out of the booster you might be able to use your booster over right if that's not leaking there but you follow where the leak is coming up you could have a problem it is 99. you could have rusted line somewhere follow all the lines and see if anywhere the connectors are rusted and they're leaking there's an equalization valve in the middle maybe that valve is rotten and leaking and it's leaking you'll need a new out there trace the lines and see exactly where it's coming from but it's coming from the master cylinder the booster and going down and dripping you need a new master and you might have to replace the booster but you can suck the fluid out of the booster when you take the master off and see if it still works by putting a new master on if it works okay you can drive car owner says they got a broken dipstick on my Dodge Caravan 05. my original dipstick is a metal stick with a yellow plastic ring and that's broken off and it's stuck inside the oil change guide did it is this fault should he pay for the repair well of course Jesus fault he broke it I mean now it's not that big of a deal because realize this your dipstick goes into that tube the tube comes off of the engine there's just either a rubber o-ring or a little bolt you take off the bolt and you pull the whole thing out once you pull all thing out you can get the old dipstick out and then you can buy another one at AutoZone or any place Bolt the tube on and a dipstick will go right back in and Away you go it's not that big of a deal to fix it but they should fix it if they broke it make them fix it now if push comes to shove the plastic part's broken you can say look I'll buy the dipstick all you gotta do is take it apart and replace it but like I said it's so easy one little bolt and some of them don't even have bolts they're just an O-ring you wiggle it and pull it out you can easily do it yourself and you know though they will break I mean geez the thing's what it's 19 years old and that's 260 000 miles and it's plastic yeah just garbage they used to make them out of metal they never broke right now they make them up and some of them the whole thing is plastic even the dipstick and that's it worse then they'll snap often pieces could even get inside the engine rm60 says my brakes Lurch I got a 2023 Subaru Forester and I have 2200 miles and it lurches and jerks when I break at the end of the break when I press the gas during the engine braking there's a jerk and the RPMs actually decrease and it feels like it's engine breaking I took it to the dealership they said it's normal but the loaner they gave me didn't do this what should I do okay go to a different Subaru dealership don't lie about everything that's normal that's normal I mean it could be a situation where you turn your steering wheel to the left and the car goes right they'll tell you it's normal they don't make any money on warranty issues so they want to just chase Your Way find a different dealer and contact Subaru of America and say hey this is ridiculous this should you have some kind of problem now I know modern cars that's a 2023 everything's computerized it's got computerized traction control safety control anti-lock braking systems something's wrong with your car they should not act like that like you said you got in a loner of the same vehicle it did not do that but yours does line of baloney and if I were you I'd make a video the longer one show look this isn't doing it here's mine mine doesn't fix it and just give it to him say I bought this thing no fix it or I'll see you under the Lemon Law and I'll get a different car now our loss or that kind of stuff and they'll be lying to you forever it's not normal you did the most logical thing on Earth you said look the one you gave me doesn't do it how come mine does of course then they'll just well no you're Imagining the whole thing they'll say you know that's why you want to make videos get your phone video any problem your car has so you got proof that it's actually doing it because I just saying it didn't act that way for us you know because they're not making any money fixing warranty work they don't care they don't want to warranty they want you to go away and go to a different dealership so try another one but explain you've contacted Subaru North America already and then maybe they'll go a little bit further into it well a used car dealer in Kansas City got caught and was sentenced for 783 000 from Chris King it was 48 was pulling a fast one what did he did was he got people's information for car loans right and they didn't take a car alone they didn't buy a car from him but he took that information he took loans out himself and took the money now I could see if he did it and then I went to South America or something but he stayed in Missouri big mistake he's getting four years in federal prison without possibility parole and it's paid 647 thousand dollars in fines back he admitted he stole the people's information and took out loans and kept the money he had this loan money wired directly to his bank account from Credit Acceptance which is a company that deals in really bad credit people I'm sure the interest rates are really high right I'm sure the money was never paid back I don't know how they expect to get money from this guy's probably either spent it all hitting it somewhere he did at least 30 loan applications this money it's unbelievable of over 7 3 000 between November 1st 2018 and November 8 2020 but as the song goes he's in the Jailhouse Now for four years so be real careful who you give loan application information to it might be one of these clowns and you might have loans out there in your name that you know nothing at all about be very careful with the information you give anybody don't give any information to loan companies until you're actually buying something you might have a guy like this that oh yeah I'm sorry you didn't buy a car for me well that maybe better luck next time then he goes and takes money in your name and puts it in his bank account so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos remember to ring that Bell foreign\n"
