The Unboxing and First Impressions of the iPhone 5S

As I lift the lid off my brand new iPhone 5S, I'm immediately struck by how much lighter it is compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 4S. Coming from a device that weighed in at around 140 grams, the 5S feels like a feather in comparison, weighing in at a mere 122 grams. This significant reduction in weight is just one of the many improvements that Apple has made with this latest generation of iPhones.

One of the first things I notice when holding the phone is how nice the home button feels. It's got a very premium quality to it, and I can tell that Apple has paid close attention to the details on this device. The volume up and down buttons, as well as the silent switch, are all located in convenient positions and have a nice tactile feel to them. The front-facing HD camera, which is now a FaceTime camera by default, looks beautiful and takes some great photos. I'm excited to see how this new camera will perform, especially in low-light conditions.

As I turn on the phone for the first time, I notice that the flap logo opens up to reveal the iPhone 5S's internal components. It's always cool to get a glimpse of what's inside your device, and Apple has certainly done its part to make this process easy with the new design. The SIM card slots are also located on the top of the phone, making it easy to swap out my current SIM for the new one that came with the phone.

I've always been a fan of taking selfies and photos of myself, so I'm excited to see how the front-facing camera will perform. It's not entirely clear from the specs what we can expect in terms of quality, but Apple has certainly made some changes to improve this camera over the previous generation. On the back of the phone, we have the usual suspects: the LED flash, 8-megapixel sensor, and f/2.4 aperture.

Now that I've turned on the phone, it's time to set up my new device. The setup process is straightforward, with most of the options being pre-filled in based on my existing Apple ID. I choose English as my language, set up a Wi-Fi network, and enter my password - all of which are very easy to navigate. Next, I'm prompted to confirm my phone number, which I do using the built-in keypad. This is where things get a bit tedious, as I have to re-enter my last four digits from my old SIM card - something that Apple could probably streamline in future updates.

With my account information all set up, it's time to activate my new iPhone 5S. The activation process takes a few minutes, but once it's complete, I'm ready to start using my phone right away. As an added bonus, I've still got access to the family plan that I was on with my old iPhone 4S - something that's saved me around $50 per month.

As part of the unboxing process, Apple has included some standard accessories like a pair of earbuds and an AC adapter. The earbuds are very cool, especially considering that they're only $19 for a spare set. And as for the AC adapter, it's always nice to have one on hand - something that I can use to charge my iPhone in different locations.

Finally, I take a moment to note that the iPhone 5S has come with some changes to the Lightning port. Apple has introduced what they call "fingershake" sensors to the Touch ID system, which could potentially allow users to unlock their phone with just their fingertips - or even other body parts like my nipple (just kidding, I wouldn't recommend that). In all seriousness, these new features will likely make a big difference in terms of convenience and security.

like my iPad unboxing I guess a year and a half ago two years ago whatever it's been I am doing a completely new start except my contacts on this iPhone 5S so that means no music no photos no apps I'm starting from completely just a new slate and I'm really excited about that because I like that new feeling but again except for contacts obviously I need my friends and family in there to call and text and whatever so here we go first opening this is mine This is actually M oh my God holy holy that is hot oh my God I was a little concerned about it being a little too gray but I got to say that looks hot as hell it's so shiny this is actually mine welcome to my world now I got to say it's very very interesting that the home button is completely redesigned in terms of the square missing that's been there since 2007 I got to say I'm going to miss that but not that much because this has a built-in fingerprint scanner also known as Touch ID and okay you guys got to understand I am so excited about this for several reasons one it's a completely new device for me because again I'm coming from the 4S number two that means larger screen and yes going from 3 and a 12 Ines to 4 in is kind of a big difference so that means I get an extra row of icons true 16x9 widescreen video fast as hell performance I mean this is practically triple the performance of the 4S since it's double that of the five and just the camera is going to be incredible the the iOS 7 experience from the beginning the camera optimization in uh iOS 7 and did I mention the touch ID sensor yes I did but I'm going to mention it again because I'm so excited about doing that so looking at the back again space gray looks very hot there's the 8 megapixel camera with the dual tone camera dual tone or Duo tone I think it's Duo tone I forget but it has a warm and a cool flash that way it evens out your flesh tones but honestly I'm not going to be using that often I don't like flash even on Pro Camera such as the one I'm using now uh except for if it's like an external flash but that's beside the point sleep weake button as you would expect we have the volume up and volume down button as well as the silent switch which is very nice the home button which has a very nice feel to it and guys I got to say this thing is so light coming from the 4S to the 5S huge difference in weights and I cannot wait to see the difference in the performance and of course over here we do have the uh usual SIM card slots so turning it on for the first time beautiful flap logo oh by the way the front-facing HD camera the FaceTime camera I should say is now censored unlike the 4S which is awesome and it's an HD FaceTime camera because I'm kind of the person nowadays who likees selfies and taking pictures of myself with my gadgets and my wobble coffee hey that's just who I am and I love it but unfortunately the front- faing camera on this thing is not that great unless you're in really good natural light then it looks fine for the most part but what I'm trying to get out here is this front phasing camera is going to look great no matter what unless I'm in pitch dark you know complete blackness obviously but I'm so excited okay slide to set up English United States choose a Wi-Fi network the frankco media headquarters put my password in now obviously this isn't that exciting as you guys can't see the screen up close may take a few minutes to activate your iPhone confirm your phone number that is my phone number next activation billing zip code I'm going to have to get the social security number again the last four digits cuz again I'm not the account holder since I'm still technically part of the family plan I save literally like $50 a month even though I don't live with my family it's still legit so I greatly appreciate that so anyway I'm going to have to stop here because I can't get past a step without texting my parents again to ask them for that number because once again I forget it but I can continue on with the rest of the unboxing which I actually almost forgot about so here we have the usual book probably fingertips iPhone 5S as well as two Apple stickers awesome actually they don't call it fingertips actually maybe they don't even have it anymore that could be just an iPad thing you do get the included earpods very cool I may not use these that often but hey it's always good to have a spare pair of headphones in my opinion AC adapter which is always good obviously and yes finally I get to enter the world of lightning in terms of iPhones all right so I do have an iPod touch you know the newest generation iPod Touch which does use lightning but I'm just glad to finally be able to use lightning on my iPhone because I'm always having to use my 30 pin connector my 30 pin cable I should say in my living room to charge both my iPhone and my iPad so yes that means the only device that I have to convert from 30 pin to lightning now is the iPad and hopefully I'll be selling my iPad third generation in just a few weeks on eBay which means I could be getting the iPad Mini with retina display if Apple announces it please make it happen I need that red display it it just looks amazing and that's it guys thank you so much for watching there's really not much else I can say about the iPhone without having to get past the activation step that's obviously a big
