HP X2 Review - Best 2-in-1 Laptop _ Tablet for Students
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys I'm random Frank P today we're going to be looking at something awesome for people who want a great two-in-one laptop and tablet solution we have the hpx2 on hand here they sent me this to take a look at it for you guys because with the holidays coming up this can be something on your wish list and is just perfect I think for students the hpx2 is a detachable laptop that doubles also as a tablet making this extremely portable for on the-go usage it is also very lightweight and thin overall so carrying this won't be an issue taking a quick look around it as you can see the included detachable keyboard is actually pretty nice the keys resemble the chicklet style keys and I found typing on it to be a pretty easy adjustment the way it connects to the screen is through these six pins and the Magnetic hinge is what's going to give you the freedom to easily take it on and off now using this as a tablet means you're not going to actually need the keyboard but if you still want to use it as a stand you can because the keyboard on the hinge has some nice versatility where if you put the screen on reverse it'll prop it up and enable the tablet mode automatically you can still enable tablet mode in the settings as well or have it come on when the keyboard isn't attached but it's cool you can switch between the different modes with the hinge recognizing that on the front we have dual front-facing speakers running alongside the screen which do get decently loud and should be fine for watching YouTube or listening to music and stuff like that on the right side is your volume rocker on the top is a little power button and down the right side is a Micro SD slot for expandable storage an HDMI output we have the USBC Port this is used for charging the X2 but can also be used to pass data if you have a flash drive or something that is USBC and then a regular USB 2.0 PCH we do have a front-facing camera for Skype or something as well as a 5 megapixel camera on the back side for taking quick photos or videos but don't be that guy maybe if you're out and about you see something cool you can take a quick shot of that or a quick photo of something as a reminder but most tablets have cameras on the back anyways now this model has an Intel atom X5 z8350 CPU with Intel HD 400 graphics and 2 gigs of RAM so you won't be playing OverWatch or anything on this but it'll be just fine for most applications on the Windows store and like I said earlier for just normal laptop or tablet usage then taking a look at the screen it is a 10.1 in touchscreen LED backlick display coming in at 1280x 800p it does get decently bright but I'd like to see it goes a little bit brighter the resolution and brightness setting is also going to help keep the battery up as well also included is the HP active stylus now since it is a laptop tablet hybrid here using your finger for the screen is going to be just fine but there is some nice additions you get when using an active stylus like this makes taking quick notes or jotting down something a breeze and integrated on the stylus itself is a button for things like going backward or forward in your browser some drawing apps let you erase the last Mark you drew and just overall the fineo tip on The Stylist really feels like you're writing with an actual pen or pencil it is very accurate and precise which is unlike a lot of stylus options out there right now oh when you're carrying this around the bottom of the screen uses those integrated magnets to hold the stylus in place so you don't lose it nice so I already mentioned it in the beginning of this video but I think the X2 is something great for students I already graduated from my University a few years back but thinking now I really wish I had something like this with me at the time just imagine just the quick and easy note taking with uh you know writing down with the stylus or jotting them down with the keyboard very easy to do and since it is so light and portable you can just bring it back and forth with with you throwing in your backpack and be good to go I had a lot of PR classes so you know writing up quick notes in a meeting or quickly jotting down or drawing a mockup logo for a client would have been so easy to do on this and it should last you a whole day the battery is rated at 10 1/2 hours and that's typically what I found when using this you know obviously more or less depending on your usage but what's really cool is in just 30 minutes you can get this charge up back to 50% so if you're in between classes or on a break a quick half hour charge we get the B battery back up to 50% so you can be back up and running but the reason I like something like this over like an Android tablet or something is one it's a lot cheaper than a tablet two you have Windows 10 on this so it's like an actual desktop experience in your hands and that's going to come with it being that two-in-one device here so you're getting a lot of freedom and versatility with how you use this and I think that's going to make any student's life a lot easier it has great battery life and that 30 minute Quick Charge is awesome the HP active Stylus is going to really eliminate the need for you to ever carry around notebooks again you can just have all your classes notes on this and it's built very well with it being overall pretty lightweight but solid at the same time and that magnetic hinge design is going to give you a lot of freedom when it comes to using this the way you want if I had to pick one con I guess it would be the screen it's going to be more than fine for people but I would have just liked a slightly brighter display and bumped up to a 1080p resolution but that's just me altogether the hpx2 is something that college kids can really take advantage of so I just wanted to get this video out before the holidays for you guys in case you want to add something like this to your wish list I don't think you're going to regret it at all all right guys that'll do it for my review of the hpx2 stay tuned for many more holiday Tech videos coming upwhat's up guys I'm random
