The Beauty Review: January Favorites and Must-Haves
As we dive into the new month, I'm excited to share with you my favorite beauty products from January 2014. From powder to eyeshadow, highlighters to eyeshadow palettes, and brush cleaners to all-purpose cleansers, this article will take you through the best of the best in the world of beauty.
One of my absolute favorite products of the month is the Chanel powder powder. I've been raving about this product for a while now, and it never fails to impress. It's so finely milled that you don't even notice it lying on your skin. The texture is soft and silky, making it perfect for creating a natural look that lasts all day long. Whether I'm wearing it as a base or adding a subtle glow to my complexion, this powder has become an essential part of my beauty routine.
Another product that caught my eye is the Mac extra Dimension eyeshadow in "Natural Flirt". This shade is truly stunning, with a vanilla pigment that's both warm and sensual. I've been using it as a highlighter on my face for days now, and it adds a beautiful glow to my complexion. I also love using it on my inner corners to create a subtle sparkle effect. It's one of those shades that makes me feel like a million bucks, and I'm obsessed!
When it comes to eyeshadow palettes, Mac's Makeup Studio durable eyeshadows are definitely worth trying. These stay-on formulas are made for busy bees who want to look flawless all day long. I swatched all the colors available in stores right now, and four of them became my absolute faves: Bronze, Edgy Emerald, Turquoise Treasure, and Violet Vanity. Together, these four shades create an amazing look that's both effortless and chic.
Another product that impressed me is the Balm's "Over/Under" eyeshadow in "Sex Pot". This shade is everything I love about highlighters - it's shiny, light-reflective, and utterly gorgeous. When Miss Fame used this product in her drag tutorial video (which you can find on YouTube), I was immediately hooked. The way she applied a small dot of this pigment to the tip of her nose created an instant wow factor that I've never seen before. Trust me when I say that this shade is a must-have for anyone who wants to add some serious sparkle to their look.
In addition to eyeshadows and powders, I also wanted to give a shoutout to my beloved brush cleaner. When I discovered H&M's brush cleanser in January, I knew I had found a game-changer. This product is essentially the same as Mac's brush cleanser, but it's more affordable and comes in a convenient travel-sized version that's perfect for on-the-go touch-ups. Whether you're using high-end or low-end brushes, this cleaner is a must-have for anyone who wants to keep their makeup tools in top condition.
Last but not least, I want to talk about my favorite brush that I've been using non-stop since January: the Makeup Studio durable eyeshadow mousse by Mac. has been dealt with it is over January was good as you know I left my agency and uh a great things are about to happen I've been doing a lot of shoots I've been doing a lot of other uh Pro makeup artist hair artist stuff uh some of you wondered if I by leaving my old agency also quit doing the pro makeup and pro hair stuff no I did not I just I I'm just working more than ever I'm doing more shoots and shows than ever and it's been amazing and uh so I'm good I'm totally fine I'm not quitting my professional makeup and hair artist life never ever I am really looking forward to this video because where other months I barely came up with 10 hits today I think I have 20 the first hit for this month is by Mac and this is from the prep and Prime line and this is called natural Radiance what this is is sort of a base slash moisturizer that you put on before concealer and foundation and this is the natural Radiance Illuminating base in radiant pink this is definitely not a primer it does not make your foundation stay on longer or make it last longer it's none of that I find it more to be a good uh sort of Base to start your entire routine with what I do with this is I put two pumps over my entire face and it just makes the skin really uh moist and dewy this has definitely made my uh Foundation routine a lot easier um because it just it adds that sort of um nice moisty feeling to I hate that word it makes your skin feel uh hydrated and and ready to be glammed up with it's just perfect to kind of start your routine with I've been really liking this I think like a month or so ago I completely changed up my Foundation routine I do not use any foundation anymore all I do is do concealer I use a lot of concealer but I just use concealer I don't do Foundation anymore so what I used to do was a lot of foundation a lot of concealer and powder and I kind of skip the entire Foundation part now and just do a lot of concealer so I've been trying a lot of new products to sort of uh come up with something new and try new stuff out because I I was in a rot I was just the same routine every day and H it was getting so boring and I wanted something else I wanted to try new products and new stuff and for a month or so I tried this and oh it's so good it's so great so amazing the first concealer I've been really loving and I've had kep this for a long while now this is NYX HD photogenic concealer in lights I really like this concealer it's pigmented it's dewy you blend it out like a dream it just looks good on the skin it doesn't cake up it's a really good concealer and the best part of it is that it is so cheap but I have been using this for quite a while now to highlight my face and sort of do a light contouring I wanted to try something new and I've Heard lots of great things about the Nars radiant creamy concealer so I ordered one for myself as well this is number light one and it's called chantilli and I get the hype if these two were brothers the Nyx and aars one the Nyx would be a younger sort of a little bit less experienced part of the family and Nars would be like like the grandpa with all the knowledge it had more sort of life lessons my description suck anyways the Nars radian creamy concealer is amazing I'm wearing it today as well to sort of highlight my face and conceal the next concealers I'm going to talk about are concealers that almost ended up in the agano section A couple of months ago what I'm talking about are the Laura Mercier uh secret camouflage concealers I got you I got number uh SC1 and I also got number SC2 to kind of get the perfect color match and to mix and match each other I always get two shades because I kind of always want to get the perfect match so I bought these along long time ago and I didn't like them at all they were super for my feeling dry and they didn't do anything and all my mind was saying was if Lisa loves these how can I not love them and these have grown on me so much I cannot live without these they are very different to other concealers on the market as these are quite dry they are drier than a normal concealer and also it seems like at first when you put it on it doesn't seem so pigmented but if you just put a little bit more work in it and actually pet it in right the coverage is amazing and the sort of the drier finish is perfect to make it stay all day long you don't see it that's the perfect stuff you don't see this on the skin and that is why it's called secret camouflage I definitely had to get used to these and I think that if you buy these and you get them for the first time you definitely have to get used to them as well just like I did but trust me if you keep working with these and you give them a couple of chances because these definitely needed more than one chance um you will love them a skin care product that I've been loving is by Hana and that is a brand that my mom sells in her web shop has H.L basically my entire skincare routine is Hana products just because I love the brand I love uh their moisturizers and their serums and their cleansing stuff so I'm just a huge big fan of Hana and as I told you in the beginning of this month my skin was so dry like I can assure you camel were walking all over it so what I do is I just cleanse my face I put all my serums and moisturizers on and then as last step I put the cell recovery cream from Hannah oh this moisturizer is so good it makes your skin feel like Angels another thing I bought because of Lisa eldrich is Chanel natural finish loose powder and I got it in number 20 CLA this must definitely be one of the best powders I've ever used because because it has sort of like micro light reflecting Parts in it that make your skin look super glowy it makes it look super healthy I've been actually wearing this in my last three videos and may I say it I kind of look good in there um and I definitely than this powder for that because it's just such a natural looking powder you don't see it lying on your skin it's super finely miled it's so soft and just when you put this on you just your your face transforms into a Chanel powder goodness an ey shadow that I've been loving is by Mac and this is the extra Dimension eyeshadow in a natural flirt I've been using this in a lot of videos lately and it's I would describe it as vanilla pigment but a little bit warmer and a little bit more sensual it has definitely that same sort of beautiful glow that vanilla gives you and it's so stunning I don't know if it's still available at Mac but a natural flirt extra Dimension eyeshadow by Mac is stunning I've been using it as my highlighter sort of glowy highlighter on my face for days now and inner Corner highlights on my eyes this baby right here is starting then I've been also loving the overshadow sex pot by the balm in uh no money no honey is that Boo Boo Honey Boo Boo a dollar makes me holla I've never tried the balm products before and when I saw here I go talking about the video again uh Miss fame's uh drag tutorial on here on YouTube and what Miss Fame did was she put a really small dot of highlighter on the tip of her nose and what she use for that is the overshadow sex pot pigment by the balm in no money no honey this color is everything it's so shiny and light reflective and just no word another thing for eyes that I've been loving are the makeup studio durable ey Shadow mouses I did a full blog post review on this and I will uh put a link down in the info box so you can check that out these are super hardcore uh stay on eyeshadow mouses they come in tons of colors and I actually swatched all the colors that are available in stores right now on my blog and I have four favorites my first favorite is B bronze then next is edgy Emerald also loving turquoise treasure and last but not least is a violet vanity these four colors together already make an awesome look and what I love about these is that at first when I tried the I I talked about this in the review but um at first when I tried these I wasn't really expecting anything because they were so wet and sort of jiggly and not really it just I didn't really expect anything from them it did not get off so that immediately changed my mind on these and I love the colors okay so the last thing I'm going to talk about is for my duchies only uh we all know the HMA and uh what I did not know is that the HMA has uh brush cleansers I always SP clean my brushes with my Mac brush cleanser but it's just it's too expensive for what it's really doing and I I never really like using it because it's kind of expensive and and it spills and it's not nice so then when I walked into the Dutch store HMA I found the Cosmetic brush cleaner and you guys it's exactly the same as the Mac brush cleanser I think this is even better because when I have like a deep deep black color in my brush and um I tried to get off with the spot cleaning method and when I use the Mac brush cleanser it gets gray but when I use this it gets white it like it gets clean and I think it was only €360 so that is amazing okay so I still have more but I feel like this video is getting way too long so I'm going to save this for February um and let's go on to the oh God knows oh God no for the oh God noos this month I have none I don't know maybe 2014 started off really really well for me but I do not have any a God knows like none none about the weather none about like something bad happened to me nothing product wise like everything I used this month and everything that happened to me this month was perfect and amazing and I loved it I have nothing to complain about I'm one happy bastard so yeah that's it that are all my loves all my hits for the month of January for 2014
