Pixel C First Look!

The Pixel C: A Review of Google's Latest Tablet

As I sit down to review the Pixel C, the latest tablet from Google, I'm excited to see what this device has to offer. Josh Varar, from Android Authority, is here to show us one of the main features of the Pixel C - its light bar.

The light bar on the Pixel C is a design element that's reminiscent of the Pixel line. But what's interesting is that it comes apart, allowing for easy maintenance and repair. To demonstrate this feature, Josh slides out the light bar and shows us how strong the magnet is, allowing for a secure fit in multiple orientations. This design choice not only provides a unique aesthetic but also ensures that the device can be easily repaired or upgraded.

Now that we've seen the light bar, let's take a closer look at the tablet itself. The Pixel C comes with an updated version of Android, Marshmallow, and a 10.2-inch screen resolution of 2560 x 1800. This provides ample space for work, play, and productivity. As Josh shows us, there's also an Easter egg hidden in the settings menu, which is a fun nod to Google's commitment to innovation.

The Pixel C is powered by the Nvidia Tegra X1 processor, which promises high performance and gaming capabilities. Media consumption will be a key focus for this tablet, and with its powerful hardware, it should deliver an excellent viewing experience.

But what really sets the Pixel C apart is its keyboard. Josh demonstrates how seamlessly the keyboard integrates with the tablet, allowing for smooth typing and navigation. The keyboard has a chicklet-style layout that's similar to laptops, making it easy to use for both casual and professional users. Additionally, the device can detect when the keyboard is docked, providing an alternative input method.

One of the standout features of the Pixel C is its all-metal construction. This gives the device a sturdy feel and premium look, which is consistent with Google's design language. The light bar on the bottom of the device provides a glimpse into the battery life - 34Wh hours should provide enough power for 10+ constant hours.

The price point for the Pixel C tablet itself starts at $499, while the keyboard will be available separately for $149. While these prices may seem steep, considering the quality and features on offer, they might be worth it for those looking for a high-end tablet experience.

In conclusion, the Pixel C is an exciting addition to Google's lineup of devices. With its unique design language, powerful hardware, and well-integrated keyboard, this tablet promises to deliver an exceptional user experience. Stay tuned to Android Authority for our full review once we get our hands on a review unit.
