Spin Masters Air Hogs Connect AR @ E3 2016

The Airhogs Connect: A Revolutionary Drone with Augmented Reality Capabilities

We're here with Spin Masters, talking about their latest innovation - the Airhogs Connect drone. This small quadricopter is designed specifically for augmented reality (AR) applications and can be used in a variety of settings, including gaming, education, and entertainment.

The Airhogs Connect drone is equipped with a full display screen that allows users to control it remotely using a tablet or smartphone. The camera on the tablet is used to capture footage of the drone's movements and display them in real-time, creating an immersive AR experience. When paired with an AR mat, the drone can fly in 3D space, allowing users to interact with virtual objects and environments.

Spin Masters has already developed a range of drones and RC helicopters in the past, but the Airhogs Connect is their most advanced creation yet. It's designed to be easy to use, even for kids aged 10 and up, but it also offers a level of complexity that will appeal to adults looking for a fun and challenging experience.

One of the standout features of the Airhogs Connect is its ability to capture and display footage in real-time. When we first started using the drone, there was an issue with pairing, which caused some problems. However, after a quick restart, everything came back online, and we were able to launch into the game.

The game itself is incredibly immersive, with a fully realized AR world that's full of challenges and obstacles. Players can fly through rings, land on pads, and even capture aliens. The game also features power-ups and other collectibles that can be used to make the experience more enjoyable.

One of the most impressive aspects of the Airhogs Connect is its ability to interact with the physical world. When we flew the drone over a table, it was able to detect the surface and adjust its flight accordingly. This level of precision and control is what sets the Airhogs Connect apart from other drones on the market.

The Airhogs Connect is available for both Android and iOS devices, although it's currently only available in a soft release phase. The drone itself will retail for $149, which is competitive with other high-end AR-enabled drones on the market.

We also have an Android tablet here that we're using to test the Airhogs Connect, and it works seamlessly. The app is intuitive and easy to use, even for those who aren't familiar with AR technology.

When we finally launched into the game, we were blown away by the level of detail and immersion. The world was full of challenges and obstacles, from burning buildings to tidal waves. We also discovered power-ups that could be collected to make the experience more enjoyable.

The Airhogs Connect is a game-changer in the world of AR technology, offering an unparalleled level of precision and control. It's not just for kids - adults will love the challenge and complexity of the game, as well as the sheer fun factor. With its availability in both Android and iOS formats, this drone is set to revolutionize the way we interact with virtual worlds.

Our experience with the Airhogs Connect has been nothing short of incredible. From the moment we started flying, we knew that this was something special. The level of detail, precision, and control is unmatched by any other drone on the market. We can't wait to see what the future holds for Spin Masters and their innovative AR technology.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthat's really fun hey it's Joshua gar from Android authority what's going on everybody and we're taking a look at an AR application yes this is on an iPad but this is also available on Android we're here with Spin Masters talking about the airhogs connect so Spin Masters already creates a number of different drones and RC helicopters and even they they made those Tech Decks back in the day but now we have a small quadricopter a drone uh that you can use for an AR application you can see right above me that there is a full display and I'm using the camera on this tablet here and you can see it moving around uh and what we have at the moment is the end of a mission but if I go over to you might see me go in and out of frame over here but if I come over to here actually I might be able to launch it from here there you go oh maybe not okay so we're doing take two because uh there was a bit of an issue with the pairing but we have it paired up again and you can see in the TV up here that I have the camera outputting the Drone in the middle of the AR mat so this world here is already being shown I can get really close to everything and this drone which looks kind of harmless in real life actually looks really badass on his television so if we take a look at all of the other elements we also have some Barracks some workshops and everything and an entire world is going to be made on top of this mat inside of the tablet augmented reality of course and I'm going to go and do that right now so you can see me go in and out of the frame a little bit but we're going to go ahead and have some fun with alien invasion so what we have here is just fly through the Rings and land on the pad now the thing I could tell you is that you don't necessarily have to play this game to have fun with this drone a remote control can be brought up inside of the menu before you get to the game and you'll be able to just play with the Drone which can go for up to about 15 to 20 minutes uh if you're not flying it around incessantly all over the place so we're going going to go ahead and hit play going to step back a little bit because it has to get the entire mat there you go now that now that I have it I'm going to go and come a little bit closer oh NOP better just going stay out here all right and here we go so you have controls for altitude as you can see from the grid to bring it uh bring it down also you want to keep it right in the middle of the frame in the camera so it can keep the control on it left joystick in order to move everything around and then once we're done going to bring it up I went under the couch went under the couch this is the best video ever by the way yeah oh oh I'll go ahead and let you fly so thankfully now we have a professional working on the Drone here and we're not going to have any problems with the Drone flying underneath the couch like I just did but you have these different objectives that you can do in order to get past these missions first of all we went through a hoop and then you're just going to have to land and uh this particular drone for this Mission there are a number of other things you could do as well like capture aliens save civilians and put out any fires and once the mission is complete you get a score so there's a lot of incentive to do pretty well and to fly the Drone properly which is something I wasn't able to do a minute ago but from there this is a great game that is available for kids 10 and up but it's also really fun and it's actually really involved very good for even adults to play because after all you're flying a drone the game also has a number of different powerups that you can collect and use to make your life a little bit easier uh for example you even have a burning building there you could do a tidal wave or you can put down a super Commando to take out all of the different aliens around the airhogs connect Mission drone is Avail is going to be available rather this fall in a soft release for $149 and it is available for Android and iOS we did use an iPad here but they did have an Android tablet as well and it worked just fine on that too so you can find this later in the fall and have some fun with the Drone in an augmented reality state so so keep it tune to Android Authority for even more about the AirHog connect and other little toys like this you can also go to VR source to find even more types of content like this of course we've got to see augmented reality here at E3 2016 so make sure you stick around for even more because we are your source for all things Androidthat's really fun hey it's Joshua gar from Android authority what's going on everybody and we're taking a look at an AR
