**DIY Pink Hair Tips: A Step-by-Step Guide Using Clip-In Extensions**

---

I’m here today because I really want to dye my hair pink. You guys probably know that the half-tip thing has been making the rounds, where the tips of people’s hair are dyed a different color. I talked to my colorist about it, and he said absolutely not. Instead, I decided to go the DIY route and create my own extensions with pink tips.

I have these extensions that I got when I did a movie where I played a porn star—insert really embarrassing photo here. So, yeah, they had a whole bunch of fake hair in my head during that movie, and they let me keep it as a souvenir. This is the perfect stuff to do the pink tips! As you can see, I have them in my hair right now. They come in longer strips like this. If you don’t have blonde hair and you don’t have extensions, you can definitely buy them. If you have dark hair, I would recommend getting an extension in your color and then bleaching the tip of it before dying it a different color.

**Let’s Get Started**

Here are my supplies:

- Rubber gloves (to protect my hands)

- Punky color flamingo pink number 1412 (the dye I’m using)

- A brush to paint the color on

- A comb to make sure the color goes through evenly

- My extensions (these are clip-in extensions, which are wonderful because I can wear my pink hair whenever I want and take them out whenever I want).

So, let’s do it. Thumbs up! Okay, here we go.

I have a plastic bag down to try not to make a mess. I’m just going to get started and paint away. I want to try layering the color on darker at the bottom and more thickly, then sort of a little bit lighter and fade up to the top so I can achieve that fade thing. The big decision is where to stop the color—I’m just going to let the brush kind of run out rather than using the brush like this (demonstrates). Instead, I’m using it vertically and kind of feathering it up so that it gets that fade thing.

**After Half an Hour**

Thumbs up! All right, y’all. It’s been about a half-hour, and I’m going to shampoo this out and see how it looks all dry.

Oh my gosh—I’m really, really happy with how they turned out! I dried them, put them in… I actually had to trim them a little bit, but I think they turned out really cool. My hair is a lot neater than I usually wear it, so I think when I wear it messy and wavy a little bit more rather than straight, they’ll blend in better. But I think it’s pretty cool. The color is really bright—I think I might wash them a couple more times to kind of dull it up a little bit because it’s a little too bright pink. I want a little bit more pale pink, but yeah, I think it turned out really cool.

---

**The Best Part**

The best thing is, I can wear them and enjoy them and then take them out whenever I want. Plus, I have more of this hair because it came in a whole package. So, I might do a turquoise set next—cool, yay! Thumbs up. We’ll see when things come to us. I’m now tired of being C so go forever.
