The thrill of Goodwood Members Meeting

As I stepped out of my robe and half shop, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions about being out of the race. The snow had made things interesting, with cars taking to the track in heavy conditions. I had never seen anything like it before, and I was excited to see how the drivers would handle the slippery surface.

The crowd was buzzing with excitement as they watched the cars take their places on the grid. The air was electric with anticipation, and I couldn't wait to get started. The first car to take to the track was Grayson's 66, followed closely by Megan's 72 revival. The sound of revving engines and screeching tires filled the air as they took their positions for qualifying.

As I watched from the pit wall, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the skill and bravery of the drivers. They were pushing themselves to the limit, taking risks that would make even the most seasoned driver nervous. The adrenaline was palpable, and I found myself on the edge of my seat as they took their first turns.

But it wasn't just the driving that made this event special – it was the cars themselves. We had a fantastic selection of McLaren cars on display, including the 650S, 720S, and even a rare silver 12C. The attention to detail was impressive, with subtle touches like black brake callipers adding a touch of elegance to each car.

As I wandered around the products area, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at the noise levels. The sound of revving engines and screeching tires was almost deafening, but it was also strangely exhilarating. And then there was the smell – a pungent mix of petrol fumes, oil, and two-stroke that seemed to reverberate through every cell in my body.

But despite the cold temperatures and heavy snow, the atmosphere at Goodwood Members Meeting was warm and welcoming. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, and I couldn't help but feel like I was part of something special. As I watched the group 5 demo take to the track, I had a feeling that these cars were going to be rather spectacular.

And then, just as we were getting started, Moby Dick appeared in the background – a legendary figure from McLaren's history who seemed to embody the very spirit of the event. It was the perfect ending to an already fantastic day, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience of being at Goodwood Members Meeting.

But even with all the excitement of the event, there were moments when it was hard not to think about the weather conditions. The snow had made things rather tricky, and I wasn't sure how the drivers would handle it. But as I watched them take their turns, I realized that they were more than capable of handling anything that came their way.

As I left Goodwood Members Meeting, I couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness that the event was over for this year. But at the same time, I knew that I would be back again next year, ready to experience it all once again. After all, as they say, "it's not just about racing – it's about the community."

he's the guy who does all the commentary and he's just a legend here and sadly he was taken from us about a week ago now in a motorcycle accident and that was a tribute to him and with an awful lot of the guys here from Goodwood and very very moving what a what a fitting tribute but it's it's it's really cold and snowing and stuff but everyone's just thinking of him right now that was lovely so after that lovely tribute I believe these guys are actually gonna go out on track and it's snowing Lily wouldn't wanna be fat if one of those it's quite a few of them we've got slick tyres on as well so you can I have to be really careful with the old rifle goes around in these conditions that's for sure so unsurprisingly there are quite a few of the driver CD seller come on slick ties it's snowing I'm not going out so there's probably only about half of does some cars even even attempted to go out and have to say hats off to the guys drive-in for doing that to be fair sorry chaps what do you think of the good weather we've laid it on firstly lovely Christmas just about full support it's long I started first as an owner what what are your thoughts about you know 70 cars out the snow you've got be without tomorrow back the race is tomorrow this is a long scar tuner and regardez racing yeah if it's like this I guess I guess the minis are gonna be up the front out there parties that we in the middle of all the big ones would be on the back yeah yeah and what are you guys I'm not now styling my robe is done a half shop so we're out and I'm kind of mixed feelings but I've never been less unhappy about being out of the race be spoken of any snowing I'm heading to the warm tent where there's fizzy drinks just warmth at all and you can have the right kind of physically we can now I think it's great I think those good spirit means that Grayson will go on and this I think this is tech meant to happen I think it's Megan that sounded will turn up and weird if you're maybe asking evades there's more cars here that resonate with I like this because I was finding 72 revival past of the 66 so you can walk around and see cars I mean the group five cars I'm hoping it does in what we do so it just didn't do something about yourself move I wish start saying that's one of my dreams very freely go 1.5 million that's a great event well this is a bit different so I've been too good with in many conditions for motor racing but I have to say I can't remember being at Goodwood in heavy snow this is going to absolutely play havoc to the whole schedule today I mean we're on Saturday today so most of today is qualifying and getting ready for the races that take place tomorrow there are a few races today for this this really isn't the kind of thing that the guys here a good one will have wanted from a from a weather point of view not great at all stand there on the pit wall of course these guys okay Sonny lets out sideways you can either stop Merson to stop and on the middle horseys cop this is the adrenaline a motorsport it's close I mean this is just a time practice for the races tomorrow but it's absolutely brilliant here we go you can kind of hear them coming through that chicane getting on the power fully sideways then as they come down there straight you can just hear them they type absolutely now they're mentally the rear tires up Wow honestly I've been coming to good with a very long time and I've never seen cars a great line on wheel spinning all the way down the stuff mr. main so impressive to watch the skill the balls that I have today unbelievable so clearly there's a very special selection of McLaren cars here today this obviously star the show that P 1 has the 650s is a 720 s there's a 570 but if you look really really carefully actually this silver 12-feet is potentially the most special car here and you need to kind of have a really close look follow me so if you zoom in here I'll try and get this alone get this on camera see that 0:01 that's the first 12c ever made and behold they have a McLaren Center here it's like bumping into an old friend after Geneva that's a really cool spec black red brake callipers very subtle well as subtle as a McLaren Center can be so it's day two here at members meeting and as you can see we had a little bit of snow overnight and the heroes that are the motor racing drivers that compete at members meeting racing beauty impressive a little bit of snow doesn't stop members meeting but it is bitterly cold today I think the ambient air temperatures just hovering around zero you stick a bit of windchill in ton on top of that and it's easy sleep sort of five or six below very cold but that's not gonna stop members meeting so wandering round the products one of the things I can't bring you is the noise these cops knocked up it reverberates through your chest that is so noisy is fantastic but I can't bring you it's the smell you get this wonderful smell of the fumes of you know petrol fumes and oil and two-stroke it just nice fantastic love everything you can kind of walk around get really close to the cars very very special price great to see the legend that is you Moby Dick so now on track next we've got the group 5 demo I've been looking forward to this from most of the day I have a feeling these are going to be rather spectacular the Lord said no Harvard five
