The Holidays are Upon Us: A Guide to Perfect Prime Rib
Hey guys, how you doing? Dave here, welcome back to Cooking Chair! The holidays are fast around the corner, and I decided to do this gorgeous prime rib. It doesn't have to be the holidays as tender it's juicy just incredibly delicious you're gonna love it so let me walk you through.
So, what I have here is a three-pound prime rib, and I asked the butcher to cut the bone off and tie it back on so it gives it that extra flavor. You know, butchering a meat can be intimidating, but trust me, it's worth it. It's a fairly price you can cut a meat but you know it's the holidays so let's go for it.
Moving on to our broth, I've got three cloves of garlic chopped but not too finely. You want to leave some texture, right? A teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of pepper, and a teaspoon of rosemary. Now, you can add your own flavors to this, but this is what I like. And sub olive oil, I'm just going to kind of eyeball this now.
We're gonna put the rub on to the meat and rub it on all sides so it's in nice and yummy. Mm-hmm, smells so good! So, I've gone ahead and slipped us back onto the rack bone side down and I'm gonna slip this into a 450-degree F, 230 Celsius preheated oven for about 15 minutes after about 15 minutes, I'm gonna reduce the heat to 325 degrees Fahrenheit that's about 160 Celsius and leave it about 45 to 50 minutes. That's about 15 minutes 70 minutes per pound. After 45 to 50 minutes, look how gorgeous this is! Guys!
So, I'm just gonna cover this up with some aluminum foil and let it rest for about 30 minutes after about 30 minutes, it's time to carve our primary mmm doesn't this look good? You might want to remove the string first. I'm gonna remove the bone from the bottom, isn't that look delicious? Wow! And we're gonna carve into this, I'm gonna do it about a quarter of an inch thick.
Let's see here well be God and look at this guy's how beautiful and juicy it is! Perfect prime rib and there you have a guy. Our prime rib roast beef absolutely delicious! So, I'm going to serve this up as some mashed potatoes and if you want to find out how to make perfect mashed potatoes we have a recipe for that too, I'll put the link below.
Of course, roast beef wouldn't be roast beef without some horseradish. This is actually a horseradish mustard, some beef gravy over the top. You're good to go! So, let's give this a taste test so tender hmm. Oh guys it was juicy it's tender it's well spiced I just love it hmm. I'm gonna have to have more for this recipe. Head on over to Cook and Share calm all kinds of cool stuff over there you're gonna love it!
