AFFORDABLE Budget 4K - EMEET S800 Review and Test

**Setting Up the Stream Cam: A Step-by-Step Guide**

If you want to change the way it's interpreting the scene, you can see that I'm going to leave it here because you can come down and customize it, uh, you can change the brightness, contrast, sharpness, all the standard stuff that you would expect to be able to change on a camera. The thing that I wanted to make sure to show you was the quality of the video that you get from the camera.

One of the things that the eink software doesn't allow for, and I haven't or I haven't found it yet, is the ability for you to be able to record directly from the software. What they suggest is you go ahead and use something else. You can use OBS, but I found that with OBS, you really have to tweak the settings to make sure that your compression and saving of the video are right so that you don't get a lot of pixelation or bad quality.

What I have found is if you just use the simple camera app from Windows, all right, so I've got everything set up here on my other computer. But what I want to show you is how to set this up okay? So you're looking at my screen now and what's happening is you're seeing the camera that's built into my laptop.

In order to use the Stream Cam one here that is on the top of my laptop with this camera app, you're going to want to go up in the top right corner and change camera. I'm going to flip through and there we go! So I'm using the Stream Cam as my camera, and I'm going to come in here to the settings and go down to video settings.

I can now change this to 4K, 30 frames per second, and once I've done that and once that's set up, I'm going to now go ahead and record directly from this camera and give you an example of how it sounds and how it looks. So here I'm going to switch over now!

**Recording with the Stream Cam**

Now I'm recording from the S800. This is the quality that you can experience or expect if I hold this up, you can see how crisp and clear it actually looks on the camera. A lot of times with the webcams that you get, you'll end up seeing a lot of sort of blurriness around text or anything that's sharp.

The one good thing about this is the fact that it takes the settings from the EM Stream Cam software, so if I went in and wanted to turn on HDR or change the saturation or change the brightness, I can do that. I don't normally record in full 4K, but I am recording this in 4k.

So what I'll do is I'll go and export this whole entire video you're watching right now in 4k, so if you wanted to see the full quality of the camera, you could do so! I also want to kind of show you a top-down view of what it would look like if you were using it maybe as a top-down camera.

**Recording from the Top-Down Camera**

This is now recording from the top-down camera, and you can see my desk here like you normally see. In this particular case, I would go ahead and change some of the color settings to make sure that everything looks good and there's the right color.

If I'm showing you something like this Altoids tin here, I can go ahead and bring it up to closely here or bring it down here so again even smaller text if I want to bring this kind of up here, you can kind of see the quality that you're getting there, and bring it back down!

Anyway, I just wanted to kind of have a quick video here to go over this camera because I really do think it is a viable option. The price is very affordable, I'll leave the link down below make sure you check it out if you're looking to get into YouTube or streaming or using this for work for teleconferencing.

The quality that you get is just phenomenal, and I'm very surprised just by the results that I'm seeing here, and the ability to tweak it and get it even better if I want to based on my environment.

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up everybody this is Carl from techel goodies and today we're looking at another streaming webcam from em this is the EM SmartCam s800 now I already did a review of The Stream cam 1 we had a multicam setup and that device is specifically set up for multicam streaming switching between cameras this one here has a couple of really awesome features that I just want to talk to you all about thanks to them for sending this over so I can share this with you because I think it is a really good option for a webcam I've tested out a ton of webcams in the past and just they've all fallen short they've been okay but this one really is a step above and the reason for that is that it has 4K video HDR autofocus and two microphones so the autofocus is a huge thing so you could probably use it in a situation like I have here whether it's a front-facing camera or a top facing camera where you like to hold things up to a camera and have it automatically focus on whatever you're holding in up now I have Canon M200 cameras there and here but I might be able to use this as a third camera in my setup so let's take a look at what's in the box so in the Box you get the camera itself very similar looking to the stream cam 1 and you also get a pack of accessories in the accessories box you have a us usba a to a USBC cable now this is a USB 3.0 or a 3.1 cable it's very important if you want to get the full 4K experience to use either this cable or a fast enough cable to be able to allow it to use the full 4K so the camera itself is actually pretty simple uh you do have a sliding shutter open and close so you have a privacy mode or when you're ready to record on the back you simply have one USBC hookup on the back here to be able to hook it up to computer as well as has a tripod mount and a monitor clamp so that you can clamp it onto your monitor so as far as the software goes you're going to want to download the eem link software not the eem stream software you're going to want the eem link that's for Windows and Mac OS so you can use it on other platform now if we take a look here at the eem link software you can see that once it's initialized you have a lot of different options uh my mouth might not match up to what's showing the preview in real time because my computer here is not super fast but they give you the option to have some framing grids if you like to have that to know where you are in relation to the middle of the frame it has different metering modes for the autofocus so when it's autofocusing it can it can look for face it can look for spot uh Global metering and Mitten beton bit M I guess I don't know what that is I I don't know it's a specific metering mode maybe I'll put it up here on the screen um but you can also choose it to face Focus or Central Area Focus now if I was using it as a top down camera I would use something like the Central Area Focus instead of the face Focus but right now I'm going to leave it on face focus and autofocus is on so if I'm going to go ahead and put my hand up here so if I'm going to show you something like this so see how it focuses in Fairly closely and the quality that you get out of the camera and the back becomes a little blurry and if I pull it back out it's going to immediately start focusing back on my face you do have a zoom ability and then you have a whole set of video settings here you have HDR if you want to use that different filtering modes standard portrait object Vivid bright um you know if I if I change that you'll start to see the way that it changes the way it's interpreting the scene if I want it to be bright in a darker lit area you can see that I'm just going to leave it here because you can come down and customize it uh you can change the brightness contrast sharpness all the standard stuff that you would expect to be able to change on a camera but the thing that I wanted to make sure to show you was the quality of the video
