**My Middle Grade Bookshelf Tour**
I'm sitting here surrounded by my favorite books from my childhood, and I just can't help but feel nostalgic. As I look around at this shelf, filled with memories of my younger self, I'm reminded of all the amazing stories that have shaped me into the book lover I am today.
Starting off with the first book on my shelf is "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Sword of Summer". This was one of my first loves when it came to fantasy novels, and reading this series in my younger years holds a special place in my heart. I remember devouring the entire series, and it's funny that it still stands out to me more than my beloved Percy Jackson series.
Moving on from Magnus Chase, I have the first two books in the Heroes of Olympus series: "The Lost Hero" and "The Son of Neptune". Again, this series was a favorite of mine during my younger years, and I cherish the memories of reading it for hours on end. The Heroes of Olympus series is an amazing continuation of the Percy Jackson universe, and I'm so glad that Rick Riordan created such an incredible world.
Next up, I have the next two books in the Heroes of Olympus series: "The Mark of Athena" and "The House of Hades". These two books are just as special to me as the first two, and I love how they expanded on the characters and storylines that I fell in love with in the previous books. This series truly is one of my favorites, and I feel so lucky to have discovered it when I did.
Now, let's move on to another favorite series of mine: Percy Jackson. Starting off with the first three books in the series, "The Lightning Thief", "Sea of Monsters" (in its movie tie-in edition), and "The Titan's Curse", these books hold a special place in my heart. I love how they introduced me to the world of Greek mythology, and I'm so grateful for the adventures that Percy Jackson took me on.
Moving on from Percy Jackson, I have two more books that are close to my heart: "The Battle of the Labyrinth" and "The Last Olympian". These final books in the series were just as exciting as the first three, and I love how they wrapped up the storylines of all the beloved characters. The covers on these old editions of the Percy Jackson books hold a special place in my heart β unfortunately, they're no longer available, but I'm happy to display them proudly in my bookshelf.
Next up, I have "The Jumbies" by Tracy Baptiste, which is an incredibly short and sweet read. This book was one of my first tastes of the supernatural and fantasy genres, and it left me wanting more. It's a great introduction to Baptiste's writing style, and I'm excited to explore more of her work in the future.
On the same shelf as "The Jumbies" is another favorite series: The King Chronicles by Rick Riordan. Specifically, I have "The Red Pyramid", which is an amazing book that really explores the world of Egyptian mythology. I love how Riordan weaves together the different mythologies and creates a richly detailed world for his characters to inhabit.
Another middle-grade book on my shelf is "Furthermore" by Tahereh Mafi. This was actually her first attempt at writing in this genre, and I'm so impressed with her growth as a writer. The story itself is unique and captivating, and I loved reading it from start to finish.
Moving on from Mafi's work, I have "Frostheart" by Danielle Littier, which has some beautiful illustrations throughout the book. This was one of my favorite discoveries in recent years, and I love how it combines fantasy and adventure with a strong focus on friendship and loyalty.
Next up is another exciting read: "Nevermore: The Trials of Morrigan Crow" by Jessica Townsend. This series caught my eye because people had compared it to Percy Jackson, which was a huge draw for me. I loved the magical world-building in this book, and I'm excited to dive back into the series.
Last but not least, I have two more books on my shelf that are particularly special: "Wanderers" by Anna James and "A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning". While I didn't read any of the other books in the A Series of Unfortunate Events when I was younger, this one is a must-read. It's such a unique and imaginative story that has captured my heart, and I'm so glad that I get to experience it for the first time.
**My Bookshelf**
In addition to these books on display, I have one other decorative piece on my bookshelf β an apple. This apple used to live in my bedside table but now takes pride of place at the end of this shelf, where it can be admired alongside all the other beautiful books on display. It's a small touch that adds a personal touch to this bookshelf, and I love how it brings me back to happy memories of reading as a child.
Overall, this middle-grade bookshelf tour is a reminder of the incredible stories and worlds that have shaped my life as a reader. Each book has its own unique charm and magic, and I feel so lucky to be able to display them on my shelf for all to see.
