The iPad Pro: A Device Not Yet Meant for Professionals
To sell more of the second 3D touch, Apple could have included it in the iPad Pro, and that would have been something to see on a professional scale with the Apple Pencil. However, that was not the case, and even with the inclusion of the Apple Pencil, 3D touch was not an option. This is disappointing for those who were expecting more from the iPad Pro.
When you expect a device like the iPad Pro, which has "Pro" in its name, you would think that it comes with many professional applications tailored specifically to it. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The iPad Air and other iPads already have access to the same applications as the iPad Pro, but now with a larger display. This is evident when you look at the mail application, which is just a blown-up version of the iPad Air 2 app.
The keyboard in most applications on the iPad Pro looks like it was simply scaled up from the standard iOS keyboard. The actual keyboard on the iPad Pro, however, is different and offers a better typing experience. It's clear that Apple didn't put as much thought into creating a professional-grade keyboard for the iPad Pro as they should have.
Another notable omission in the iPad Pro is the Touch ID sensor. Instead of using the second-generation Touch ID sensor found on many other Apple devices, the iPad Pro uses the first-generation Touch ID sensor. This lack of improvement may be done to push sales of the second-generation Touch ID sensor on future devices.
When it comes to cameras, the iPad Pro falls short. The rear camera is an 8-megapixel camera with a 2.4 aperture, making it noisy and unable to capture high-quality images. Even the front-facing camera is subpar, featuring only 720p resolution at 1.2 megapixels. This is particularly disappointing when considering the iPad Pro's price tag.
A Comparison to the Entry-Level MacBook
When comparing the iPad Pro to an entry-level MacBook, it becomes clear that they have similar price points. The iPad Pro in its 128GB configuration comes out to be roughly the same price as a comparable MacBook. However, this is only considering the device itself and does not include additional costs such as Apple Care or the LTE option.
To fully utilize the iPad Pro, you'll need to purchase accessories like the keyboard case and Apple Pencil. These accessories add significantly to the overall cost of the device. The keyboard case costs $169, and the Apple Pencil comes in at $99. When combined with tax, this brings the total cost to approximately $300.
The Accessory Problem
The high price point of these accessories is a major concern for many potential buyers. While they are necessary to truly use the iPad Pro as intended, they are also quite expensive. This is particularly frustrating when considering that you could purchase a MacBook and get access to full-fledged OS 10 applications, not to mention better battery life.
The Speaker Sacrifice
In an effort to improve performance, Apple made some sacrifices in the design of the iPad Pro. The four-speaker setup, while impressive for sound quality, also results in reduced battery life. If Apple had included a larger battery into the device, it would have been more practical. However, this sacrifice seems like it was worth it for the superior audio experience.
Conclusion
While the iPad Pro is a great device, it's clear that Apple has not yet fully grasped its potential as a professional tool. With many omissions and flaws, including the lack of 3D touch and optimized applications, it's difficult to see this device appealing to professionals just yet. However, as with any Apple product, time will likely prove these concerns wrong. Until then, buyers should carefully consider whether or not they want to invest in an iPad Pro that falls short of expectations.

imagine if we got an Apple tablet running OS 10 ELC capiton or maybe not even that maybe OS 10 light version or an iPad OS built on its own for a pro series iPad that would be quite something but instead we just got iOS with a couple slight modifications to the software to accommodate for this larger display why Apple you had such a good chance the Surface tablets man they are a perfect example of why that would be a good idea for Apple now let me tell you something we can fit an entire resolution of the iPhone 3G in between the app icon spaces on the iPad Pro what is this we have a 12.9 in beautiful Retina Display yet we still have 4x5 icons on the iPad Pro that is just a terrible optimization of the space we have I mean this could be fixed in the future Apple's already done something about the space with folders we now have 4x4 icons with iOS 9 but come on Apple we've got a huge iPad here we could definitely fit more icons on One display yet you still give us 5x4 icons all right well that doesn't make much sense hopefully that will be fixed in a future right now to me it just blows my mind now apple is notorious for this they leave out features from the first generation in order to sell more of the second 3D touch wasn't included in the iPad Pro imagine what could have been possible on a professional scale with 3D touch I mean with the apple pencil 3D touch could have been somewhat possible yet even that wasn't an option for the iPad Pro now with a name like iPad Pro you'd expect to find a lot of custom tailored professional apps you know maybe even ported from OS 10 over to the iPad Pro well that's not the case I mean you're pretty much just getting the same applications the iPad Air and any other iPad has just blown up on a larger scale on the iPad Pro you know the severe lack of professional applications right now is really apparent on the iPad Pro now this is a tough one because the iPad Pro represents such a small amount of iPad sales overall you're not going to see a lot of optimization for iPad apps for the larger display they're just going to be blown up even the mail application the stock version is just a blown up version of the iPad air2 app I mean what's that even for Apple that's a little disappointing so the keyboard in most applications is going to look like this which is just a blown up version of the standard iOS keyboard the actual iPad Pro keyboard looks like this and versus this you know there's a huge difference in usage Apple didn't update the touch ID sensor on the iPad Pro it's using the first generation of touch ID again supporting the claim that Apple likes to push more sales for the Second Generation and they're going to do so with Touch ID generation 2 on the iPad Pro I mean keep it low on the first release update those little things on the second release to push more sales disappointing to say the least for a pro iPad with such a steep price tag at least keep the camera on par with the 6s but nope last generation camera 8 megapixels 2.4 aperture making this thing extremely noisy no 4K video just 1080p at 30 frames per second definitely not what I was expecting for Pro iPad front-facing camera even worse 720p and a 1.2 megapixel sensor that's just awful unacceptable and awful the iPad Pro is expensive now hear me out of course we know what we're getting into but I like to compare and when you compare an iPad Pro with a comparable entrylevel MacBook you actually get uh roughly the same price point now the iPad Pro needs accessories to be completely usable the way Apple wants it to be used so considering that you get the Apple keyboard case and apple pencil it comes out to roughly about the same price with a 128 GB option now that's not even including Apple Care or the LTE option just the iPad in 128 GB and the accessories you know to use it the way Apple wants you to use it so you can either get a Macbook that can run fully fledged OS 10 applications or you can get a glorified iPad Air 2 larger display better speakers better speed and that Apple stylus and that ties in with my ninth point is that the accessories are overpriced and they are somewhat required in order to use the iPad to its full potential otherwise you've just got an iPad Air 2 with a larger display so those accessories 169 for the keyboard case 99 for the Apple stylus man that's like $27 about 300 with tax I've already made this point but I wanted to say that this thing to me doesn't appeal as a pro device just yet the lack of applications the lack of software optimization you know it doesn't really seem like Apple's put that much thought into the larger display and making it professional truly professional that will change with time but right now to me this thing isn't aimed at professionals this thing is basically an iPad Air plus now this is a very minor one but when I fix it actually tore down the iPad Pro they found that the four- speaker setup on the iPad Pro made a sacrifice when it comes to battery life you could have fit a 50% larger battery into the iPad Pro had the speakers not been there now to some that's worth the sacrifice but to me it just wasn't
