Which is Better Huracan STO vs GT Black Series

Driving the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series and Lamborghini Huracan on Public Roads

As I set out to drive these two supercars, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series and Lamborghini Huracan are both high-performance vehicles that are known for their exceptional speed and agility. However, in this particular video, we're not on a racetrack, but rather on public roads. This presented an interesting challenge, as I had to adjust my driving style to accommodate the slower speeds and more traffic.

The GT Black Series is a road-going version of the Mercedes-AMG GT, which is a high-performance variant of the C-Class sedan. The car features a 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 630 horsepower. It also has a unique exhaust system, which I found fascinating to drive. As I downshifted and accelerated, I could feel the exhaust valves opening up and producing a distinctive sound. The car's acceleration is impressive, but it's also surprisingly easy to handle. This made it a great vehicle for driving on public roads, where I had to navigate through traffic and construction.

In contrast, the Lamborghini Huracan is a more traditional supercar. It features a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 640 horsepower. The car's acceleration is truly exceptional, with the ability to go from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. However, driving it on public roads required more finesse and attention. I had to be careful not to get too aggressive, as the car's speed was still quite rapid.

One of the most interesting aspects of these two cars is how they compare to their standard production counterparts. The GT Black Series has a very similar key system to the C-Class, which makes it easy to access and use. However, I found it lacking in terms of excitement. In contrast, the Lamborghini Huracan's key system is more unique, with a distinctive shape and feel.

When driving both cars back-to-back, I was struck by how different they were from each other. The GT Black Series felt much more subdued and refined, while the Huracan was more aggressive and raw. This made for an interesting comparison, as it highlighted the differences between these two high-performance vehicles.

As we drove through the countryside, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and joy. These cars are truly exceptional, with their impressive acceleration and handling. They're also incredibly fun to drive, making them perfect for drivers who want to experience the thrill of supercar driving on public roads.

The Lamborghini Huracan was particularly fascinating to drive. Its V10 engine produced a distinctive sound that was both thrilling and intimidating. As I accelerated, I could feel the car's speed building rapidly, making it an exhilarating experience. However, I had to be careful not to get too carried away, as the car's speed was still quite rapid.

In contrast, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series felt much more accessible and easy to drive. Its 4.0-liter V8 engine produced a more subdued sound, but its acceleration was still impressive. The car handled beautifully on the road, making it an excellent choice for drivers who want to experience supercar performance without the stress of racing.

The video concludes with my thoughts on these two cars and what they represent in terms of performance and driving experience. I hope that you enjoyed watching this video as much as I did, and I'll see you again soon.

Driving these cars was a unique experience, but it also highlighted some interesting points about the world of supercars. While they're designed for speed and agility on the track, they can also be driven on public roads with ease. The key to enjoying these vehicles is finding a balance between performance and practicality. As we'll see in future videos, there are many more cars that will be put through this process, including the Porsche 911 and the Ferrari Portofino.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys i'm shmee hello and welcome back to the channel where today is a bit of a back to back with two of the newest schmie mobiles two cars that serve very similar purposes the lamborghini hurricane sto and the mercedes amg gt black series two cars that cost about the same are both the track focused limited edition derivatives of their base models and two cars that i have now been driving out on track in fact recently i took them both up to donington park it was my first proper track outing with the hurricane sto having previously done a few laps with the gt black series at the nurburgring but this was really quite intriguing having done the laps with this i did a few laps with the gt black afterwards but i didn't film those and lots of you've been asking me how these two cars compare so today we're going to take them out for a drive on the road so they are fundamentally road cars with number plates at the end of the day but there are also a few updates here at this museum more of which you can find out about over on the museum channel but i want to talk about these two a little bit more about them i find this particularly intriguing and i think you probably will as well most of the cars are currently undercover at the moment here at the garage it has to be said we have a few visitors nova tech 812 gts gump the works 993 i've uncovered the gt and the center just for a touch of color but of course we are talking about these two two cars that have each recently arrived in the collection the sto i took delivery of a month or two ago it went to topaz had the yellow accents added to contrast against the viola bast the gloss black for the roof and other parts as well and i've had a few outings with it it's just shy of a thousand miles now including that first outing on track the gt black series had arrived a couple of months prior but because of taking it to chartwell to do the full respray to the solar beam it's actually meant that i've owned it and used it for about the same amount of time we did the black series tour with this the sls the c63 which is undercover and with the g63 as well but i've now done nearly 3 000 miles including that nurburgring visit but these are two cars which are similar in so many ways and i want to give you a bit of a rundown of this starting with the price now my specifications for the sto 318 thousand pounds for the gt black series 335 000 pounds pretty similar in the grand scheme of things a couple of percentage points out in terms of what they are built to do they take their base models the hurricane evo for example the evo rear wheel drive i should say and the amg gt or gtr and they dial them up significantly changes in many ways particularly to the aerodynamics the stl actually maintains the same engine so the 5.2 liter naturally aspirated v10 640 horsepower mid-engine 7-speed dual clutch rear-wheel drive both cars in fact with the dual clutches and rear driven for the gt black series they mixed up the engine big time the front mid mounted now flat plane crank twin turbocharged four liter v8 and in the case of this a few modifications from opus which give it a bit more sound and a little bit more power as well but again all of that going to the rear wheels and one thing i really noticed on the track was that this car with the 2r super sticky tires took a lot of time to get some heat in them but when they did they were incredible this car is currently on the regular all-year road tires the bridgestone sport and those need a little bit more i think by way of sticky track focused rubber to really get the most out of the car they both use lots of carbon fiber we've got the full cofango on the sto this full carbon fiber front clam that opens forwards on the gt black series we've got carbon fiber wing panels for example you can see the arrow here and what it does when you've been driving it in bad weather i've actually had this car out a fair bit recently doing some more miles with it and i really and truly enjoy that in many ways as a daily for such a hardcore car and i'll explain more about that later we've got adjustable wings on both cars you can change the positioning and angle of it all they both sound pretty incredible now this straight out of the box but just to show you quickly here you've got the adjustments for the wing settings for this middle panel we've got mad mad mad aero and design all around each of them just massively dialed up from their base models huge huge changes when you start to look around them in a little bit more detail we've got more track focused seats inside more alcantara again here the manually adjustable central section active upper section but i think this is really quite the head to head when it comes to these two cars so i need to decide in a second which it is going to be for the first run out we'll take both perhaps in convoy just because that always makes it a little bit more fun and then hop from one over to the other to do a little bit of a comparison in fact let's start with the black series first up we need to get both of these cars started let's go with the gt black series first now with the opus exhaust sounding much much better although i think we'll have a warm start not exactly bad though pop it into individual could be worse right we'll pull this out in just a moment let's head over to the lamborghini we'll have to open up the fango unplug the ctek smart charger pop that back away in just a moment but inside here we have the v10 and a much more awkward car to climb into but listen to this oh yeah right let's get ready we'll head out in a second thankfully it's a fairly pleasant day as these things go this time of year in the uk we've got some very orange trees these two cars looking superb together out on the road but taking it easy i think is an interesting dynamic about these kind of cars that you don't necessarily consider from the outside but if you're going to own and use something like a gt black series or a hurricane sto in the real world most of your mileage is going to be spent driving on the normal roads as you know i take my cars to the track i do road trips with them and i try and enjoy them as much as possible things like drag races which might be coming up soon and all of this kind of stuff but basically most of the time they are spent driving around on normal roads like this and it's where i find these two genuinely fascinating because they do it really quite differently as we're cruising along in here in comfort mode this is actually a really gentle grand tourer it is a softer car than the gtr pro that i had before i've talked about this a lot because it has the adapted dampers it means that you can just stick it in auto and you can close the valves i've got them opened at the moment but even still it's not particularly noisy it's not crazy it's not loud it's pretty compliant and fairly easy to drive they did away with rear wheel steering for the gt black series to save some weight on the rear axle whereas the added rear wheel steering to the evo rear wheel drive on the sto so completely different approaches in that perspective and there are many things between these two cars where you can clearly see that the engineers and the teams behind the cars had quite different ideas with what exactly they were going to do and obviously this is designed to be a nurburgring record holder that is designed a bit more for grand prix style circuit circuits where the hurricane super trofeo race cars have their various race series events so a very different thing from the outset now in here if i press this and it goes into my beloved individual mode everything gets a little bit noisier we get the pops and crackles that we talked a little bit about when doing all of the upgrades at opus and it just feels a little bit wild and a little bit more you know you get it from the downshifts it just starts to wake up a little bit more and i really think that that was one thing the gt black series missed a lot directly from factory it was without enough excitement from the noise and the feel the emotion and obviously modern cars are losing a lot of that and you'll see what i mean by this when we drive in the sto very shortly we're just going up through the power band in here despite the fact it's the flat plane crank engine with twin turbos which always means that you get this slightly more muted sound out of it it does a pretty nice job of sounding good you have to be very conscious of these cup2r tyres i'm not joking the hard compound needs temperature before it begins to work and i'm sure if you're racing professionally or something like formula one for example it makes even more difference but the amount of difference these tires make in the sense of how happy they would be to completely break loose to understeer or to snap a bit it makes this a very different car to the regular gtr or the gtr roadster which are much more predictable in terms of when they're going to escape and loosen grip but as the road opens up it's ballistically fast 850 horsepower hey 850 horsepower i mean the standard car at 730 or the standard as we dine out of my car at 775. those are big numbers this is an insane thing but what i've particularly liked about it so far is its breadth of capability i honestly thought it would be a harder car to live with use and drive and just generally get around with than it actually has turned out to be because on paper you think it's wow that sounded cool on paper you think it's going to be more hardcore than the gtr pro but it has a decent amount of luggage space at the back i've had suitcases in the back already it's comfortable i love these seats they're really really supportive it's well equipped in terms of technology it's a car that's completely ready for a road trip when we took it on the black series tour and when i did the drive to bring it back from opus afterwards it just felt good it felt right it feels like a car that i could happily do a hundred thousand miles with i would have absolutely no complaints and it's so fast as we pull up on the sto and look at that thing in front you can actually see the glowing red when the valves open on the exhaust you can see how it's glowing red inside it's actually quite fun to watch that opening and closing i'm not sure how much of it you can see on the camera but obviously big wings shark fin aggressive design aggressive diffuser these two together are just two very very very wild machines out of the country lanes together and i think i'll be able to give you more kind of substance to my thoughts when we hop into the sto in a moment kind of annoying to be stuck in a little bit of traffic down the lanes here 30 miles an hour and a 60. never exactly what you want but it is what it is and it's a beautiful day as i said considering maybe not the most spirited drive in the world there is of course traffic to have to contend with but we will now swap to the hurricane sto although the two cars parked here side by side look insane together the colours of these and particularly going with the yellow accent on the sto i know it's not to everyone's taste but the whole point behind this is that it's a lamborghini it's one of the wildest lamborghinis that has ever been made and it deserves to wear a wild color scheme that fits right in with the schmiema wheels and i think the gt black series with all of its carbon fiber suits solar beam very well the original launch color of the two predecessors the sls black series and the c63 black series so i'm very happy with the color schemes of both of these very happy with their massive wings that sit on the back and you can see quite how gigantic they are when they're parked up here but hopefully we'll now have slightly more of an open run in the sto so let's hop on board get that out onto the road and go have a few more thoughts about how exactly they stack up back out on the road then in the sto now currently in super troffeo or mologato mode the sto mode you can't pop it up into trofeo but one of the first things you notice in here is that it's not crazy loud everything is very track focused the ride especially in trafalgar because there's no customizable mode like individual in the gt black series is very firm and down a road like this i'm being shaken apart you don't really want to travel the other thing is the noise even in this mode is pretty non-existent until you've opened up the valves or driven it down some gears where it starts to be a little bit ridiculous and it just feels wild the more miles i've done in the sto the more i've kind of got used to what this car is about it's a little bit it's just a little bit wild i don't know how better to explain it other than it feels imperfect and that's what makes it exciting it's not the most practical it's not the most usable in fact when it comes to luggage space it's pretty hopeless it's a car that isn't as fast as that one for sure not on a race track not in a straight line not anywhere really but that's not what it's about it looks insane and i can tell you even just having the two of these parts beside one another just then multiple people are commenting on this not that this is the car that draws the attention this is the car that i can tell you as well from driving around town turns all of the heads and sounds like that this engine is just glorious it's an absolute kind of masterpiece of an engine obviously this v10 has been refined numerous times over the years and when you drive it it just makes it the whole thing just feels so good listen to those down shifts now let's go back into sto mode let's pop it back into auto because when you're in trafeo it automatically goes into manual and then you have to put it back into auto because you can't drive in trafeo in automatic which is quite unusual as well that's how much it's set up basically to be a track car to be a track tool and this is what i found when i had it on track is that it's a great machine but it needs the tires and there is a bridgestone potenza race option that you could order from new you had to pay quite a lot of money for it as an upgrade i think about two and a half thousand pounds but i wouldn't be surprised if a set of traffic ours or support cup twos or cup two rs would actually do the job on here really very very well that's something i would certainly be inclined to try at some point obviously both cars have pretty incredible brakes both cars have a great feel to them the steering in this i prefer on the road at sto i preferred it on the track in trafeo i found it quite interesting how that almost artificial weight at low speeds in trofeo became much more real and dynamic and gave much more feedback out on racetrack speeds obviously going significantly faster but the thing with this is it's a really hard car to drive in these situations gently the brakes aren't particularly smooth the throttle isn't particularly smooth it's a little bit awkward i mean you're sat right up towards the nose there's barely any overhang over the front wheels it's totally impractical so as a car to actually use and live with let's say it doesn't take very many boxes but it is that wow factor that wow factor that even the gt black series and following it looks insane to me on the road it's still at the end of the day a mercedes and you know you see that from other people because they look at this and think wow what is that mad machine inside here no comfy seat these seats aren't particularly great i'm a little bit more familiar with them now that i've done a few miles there's no yeah there's just carbon on the doors which looks cool but again isn't particularly comfortable the sound system and there's no upgrade sound system is shocking in here uh might but well be one that needs to be upgraded because the default system that we have um yeah not particularly good countryside lane though back into trafeo drop some gears because this is where it gets fun so we pounced down this very very bumpy lane and this is where yeah you'd like a slightly softer ride than we have it's just kind of funny how much louder it gets when the valves do actually open obviously it's four and a half thousand rpm all the time whatever key you're in that's exactly where it's set or when you're idling when you come to a standstill the car actually sits with the exhaust valves open which is slightly surprising drop some gears before the road opens up in front of us it's definitely a car that takes a little bit more time to get comfortable with than the gt black series that's the car you just jump straight into and immediately you feel basically at home with it you kind of know what it's doing you know what it's about you know how it works this is a car where you need to do some miles to learn it you need to get to grips with what it wants and yes i've done a lot more miles in amg gts than i have in different lamborghinis as you can tell even here it just makes me think that little bit more it's not necessarily a bad thing it's just an observation a comment about it two very very different cars as i said despite the fact that both track cars both rear driven both dual clutches but with engines in completely different places and very different objectives that is brute track performance but still with quite a lot of road comfort this is brute track for performance slightly less of it but with much more wow factor and you know different people are always looking for different things in these cars and it's why i think i enjoy being lucky enough to own various different cars and experience the various different cars as a customer i find this quite interesting this different league compared to the gt black series while i very much like mercedes and buying the cars that did feel like i was just picking up any new mercedes at the end of the day there's very little involvement you can't spec it couldn't even choose the color that i wanted um nothing came with the car not nothing particularly really to discuss you know turn up at the dealer get the keys off you go whereas this was the whole involvement with dealers around the world putting together the spec calls with that persona working with the dealer a few gifts that came along the way gifts that will still arrive as well like a matching model car and the display piece that goes with the engine firing order a whole lot of memorabilia and that's a big part of the experience to me and while i don't think in performance terms you can say that this is up there with the gt black in an experienced term i think it's probably further ahead now ice is on the middle as to which you know which i would say is more important i think it's variety that makes the spice of life you know having these different opportunities these different types of experiences from the cars is absolutely critical and getting a feel and being able to share all of that with you so i find it really interesting to have driven them that was solid you could probably tell how much that was shaking me oh my goodness that's basically the problem with this car if you're in trofeo because you want the more exciting powertrain settings you have to put up with being shaken to your core there's no alternative way around that i don't even know where we are right now but it's interesting to say the least some proper country lanes thank you to the uh navigation systems oh this is better it opens up properly and i find those noises when you downshift really strange as well but i guess here we're gonna have the opportunity to properly open it up so follow the gt black series just a little bit silly anyway i think we're gonna head back a little bit more towards base i know a lot of you will say well you're driving them more aggressively we're out on public roads there's traffic around as you can see i apologize for driving cars on roads within the legal limits and sometimes it's a little bit boring but that's why i like going to racetracks and i like going to the autobahn and finding the right places to let these things be properly unleashed as much as possible for now though let's get them back to the barn we're back at this museum then with the cars parked up and one thing i'd like to show you which you might find quite amusing is to take a look at the keys for these cars one of them for the mercedes is effectively the same key as your standard c-class in recent years the lambo key is effectively your standard audi key from recent years albeit with a slightly different end on it neither are particularly exciting because these are cars that take the manufacturer's entry models of the supercar scene if you could say the amg gt and the lamborghini hurricane and make them into something significantly wilder and that's i suppose the biggest takeaway for a road car a practical comfortable but savagely fast car when you want it to be that's going to win every time for taking around town causing a scene and grabbing a lot of attention not much is going to beat that and being pink and yellow certainly helps achieve that objective in terms of driving out on the track that did feel pretty mental i'm not going to lie this feels insanely fast but also very easy to drive to that level of performance which makes it a little bit different this is certainly more towards the raw end feels a little bit more like you need to be on your a-game to really make the most of it it's quite interesting the way modern cars are actually becoming very easy to drive exceptionally fast if you turn traction off in that thing it's a snappy little beast you need to watch out exactly what you're doing with it and i imagine putting on the track tires will make that even more so i love when you're following this how you see in the exhaust tailpipes the valves which are somewhere lurking in there opening up and you see it glowing red hot inside which is extra cool this well it's got a longer pipe of course running from the front engine towards the back so we're not going to be seeing all that much fire out of it unless you fully decatured it or something like that but i'm not going down that path what i might do is try and get a switch to control the valve just to make this a little bit more of a dramatic car to drive out on some nice roads to have the option to go full quiet or fall loud depending where exactly and what exactly is being done i find it fascinating though how those two cars like i said can cost about the same amount of money i don't know exactly what the production numbers will be the rumors are somewhere just over a thousand gt black series and if i had to guess probably about 2 000 stos but that is a guess don't know the number exactly i've heard rumors of 150 uk cars and these are only about 60 uk cars so relatively speaking here at least for this market quite different but we love our lambos and amg's tend to go more to the usa and to other markets as well so it varies depending around the world when it comes to these topics also but for today pretty fun to drive them back to back to think a little bit more about this so i hope you enjoyed the video i like to do this with various of the schmie mobiles i know they're all covered up we've done it before with the likes of the center and the ford gt with the aston gt8 and the vanquish back at the time and with plenty of the others as well so let me know if there are any interesting heads if i can call it that you would like to see coming up soon though i do want to get these two up against one another for a bit of a drag race and possibly some of the others as well it'd be fascinating to see what the tycan would do against each of those maybe stay tuned maybe we can make that happen for now though that is all thank you very much for watching as always guys your support is hugely appreciated and i'll see you again very soon cheers youhi guys i'm shmee hello and which always means that you get this slightly more muted sound out of it it does a pretty nice job of sounding good you have to be very conscious of these cup2r tyres i'm not joking the hard compound needs temperature before it begins to work and i'm sure if you're racing professionally or something like formula one for example it makes even more difference but the amount of difference these tires make in the sense of how happy they would be to completely break loose to understeer or to snap a bit it makes this a very different car to the regular gtr or the gtr roadster which are much more predictable in terms of when they're going to escape and loosen grip but as the road opens up it's ballistically fast 850 horsepower hey 850 horsepower i mean the standard car at 730 or the standard as we dine out of my car at 775. those are big numbers this is an insane thing but what i've particularly liked about it so far is its breadth of capability i honestly thought it would be a harder car to live with use and drive and just generally get around with than it actually has turned out to be because on paper you think it's wow that sounded cool on paper you think it's going to be more hardcore than the gtr pro but it has a decent amount of luggage space at the back i've had suitcases in the back already it's comfortable i love these seats they're really really supportive it's well equipped in terms of technology it's a car that's completely ready for a road trip when we took it on the black series tour and when i did the drive to bring it back from opus afterwards it just felt good it felt right it feels like a car that i could happily do a hundred thousand miles with i would have absolutely no complaints and it's so fast as we pull up on the sto and look at that thing in front you can actually see the glowing red when the valves open on the exhaust you can see how it's glowing red inside it's actually quite fun to watch that opening and closing i'm not sure how much of it you can see on the camera but obviously big wings shark fin aggressive design aggressive diffuser these two together are just two very very very wild machines out of the country lanes together and i think i'll be able to give you more kind of substance to my thoughts when we hop into the sto in a moment kind of annoying to be stuck in a little bit of traffic down the lanes here 30 miles an hour and a 60. never exactly what you want but it is what it is and it's a beautiful day as i said considering maybe not the most spirited drive in the world there is of course traffic to have to contend with but we will now swap to the hurricane sto although the two cars parked here side by side look insane together the colours of these and particularly going with the yellow accent on the sto i know it's not to everyone's taste but the whole point behind this is that it's a lamborghini it's one of the wildest lamborghinis that has ever been made and it deserves to wear a wild color scheme that fits right in with the schmiema wheels and i think the gt black series with all of its carbon fiber suits solar beam very well the original launch color of the two predecessors the sls black series and the c63 black series so i'm very happy with the color schemes of both of these very happy with their massive wings that sit on the back and you can see quite how gigantic they are when they're parked up here but hopefully we'll now have slightly more of an open run in the sto so let's hop on board get that out onto the road and go have a few more thoughts about how exactly they stack up back out on the road then in the sto now currently in super troffeo or mologato mode the sto mode you can't pop it up into trofeo but one of the first things you notice in here is that it's not crazy loud everything is very track focused the ride especially in trafalgar because there's no customizable mode like individual in the gt black series is very firm and down a road like this i'm being shaken apart you don't really want to travel the other thing is the noise even in this mode is pretty non-existent until you've opened up the valves or driven it down some gears where it starts to be a little bit ridiculous and it just feels wild the more miles i've done in the sto the more i've kind of got used to what this car is about it's a little bit it's just a little bit wild i don't know how better to explain it other than it feels imperfect and that's what makes it exciting it's not the most practical it's not the most usable in fact when it comes to luggage space it's pretty hopeless it's a car that isn't as fast as that one for sure not on a race track not in a straight line not anywhere really but that's not what it's about it looks insane and i can tell you even just having the two of these parts beside one another just then multiple people are commenting on this not that this is the car that draws the attention this is the car that i can tell you as well from driving around town turns all of the heads and sounds like that this engine is just glorious it's an absolute kind of masterpiece of an engine obviously this v10 has been refined numerous times over the years and when you drive it it just makes it the whole thing just feels so good listen to those down shifts now let's go back into sto mode let's pop it back into auto because when you're in trafeo it automatically goes into manual and then you have to put it back into auto because you can't drive in trafeo in automatic which is quite unusual as well that's how much it's set up basically to be a track car to be a track tool and this is what i found when i had it on track is that it's a great machine but it needs the tires and there is a bridgestone potenza race option that you could order from new you had to pay quite a lot of money for it as an upgrade i think about two and a half thousand pounds but i wouldn't be surprised if a set of traffic ours or support cup twos or cup two rs would actually do the job on here really very very well that's something i would certainly be inclined to try at some point obviously both cars have pretty incredible brakes both cars have a great feel to them the steering in this i prefer on the road at sto i preferred it on the track in trafeo i found it quite interesting how that almost artificial weight at low speeds in trofeo became much more real and dynamic and gave much more feedback out on racetrack speeds obviously going significantly faster but the thing with this is it's a really hard car to drive in these situations gently the brakes aren't particularly smooth the throttle isn't particularly smooth it's a little bit awkward i mean you're sat right up towards the nose there's barely any overhang over the front wheels it's totally impractical so as a car to actually use and live with let's say it doesn't take very many boxes but it is that wow factor that wow factor that even the gt black series and following it looks insane to me on the road it's still at the end of the day a mercedes and you know you see that from other people because they look at this and think wow what is that mad machine inside here no comfy seat these seats aren't particularly great i'm a little bit more familiar with them now that i've done a few miles there's no yeah there's just carbon on the doors which looks cool but again isn't particularly comfortable the sound system and there's no upgrade sound system is shocking in here uh might but well be one that needs to be upgraded because the default system that we have um yeah not particularly good countryside lane though back into trafeo drop some gears because this is where it gets fun so we pounced down this very very bumpy lane and this is where yeah you'd like a slightly softer ride than we have it's just kind of funny how much louder it gets when the valves do actually open obviously it's four and a half thousand rpm all the time whatever key you're in that's exactly where it's set or when you're idling when you come to a standstill the car actually sits with the exhaust valves open which is slightly surprising drop some gears before the road opens up in front of us it's definitely a car that takes a little bit more time to get comfortable with than the gt black series that's the car you just jump straight into and immediately you feel basically at home with it you kind of know what it's doing you know what it's about you know how it works this is a car where you need to do some miles to learn it you need to get to grips with what it wants and yes i've done a lot more miles in amg gts than i have in different lamborghinis as you can tell even here it just makes me think that little bit more it's not necessarily a bad thing it's just an observation a comment about it two very very different cars as i said despite the fact that both track cars both rear driven both dual clutches but with engines in completely different places and very different objectives that is brute track performance but still with quite a lot of road comfort this is brute track for performance slightly less of it but with much more wow factor and you know different people are always looking for different things in these cars and it's why i think i enjoy being lucky enough to own various different cars and experience the various different cars as a customer i find this quite interesting this different league compared to the gt black series while i very much like mercedes and buying the cars that did feel like i was just picking up any new mercedes at the end of the day there's very little involvement you can't spec it couldn't even choose the color that i wanted um nothing came with the car not nothing particularly really to discuss you know turn up at the dealer get the keys off you go whereas this was the whole involvement with dealers around the world putting together the spec calls with that persona working with the dealer a few gifts that came along the way gifts that will still arrive as well like a matching model car and the display piece that goes with the engine firing order a whole lot of memorabilia and that's a big part of the experience to me and while i don't think in performance terms you can say that this is up there with the gt black in an experienced term i think it's probably further ahead now ice is on the middle as to which you know which i would say is more important i think it's variety that makes the spice of life you know having these different opportunities these different types of experiences from the cars is absolutely critical and getting a feel and being able to share all of that with you so i find it really interesting to have driven them that was solid you could probably tell how much that was shaking me oh my goodness that's basically the problem with this car if you're in trofeo because you want the more exciting powertrain settings you have to put up with being shaken to your core there's no alternative way around that i don't even know where we are right now but it's interesting to say the least some proper country lanes thank you to the uh navigation systems oh this is better it opens up properly and i find those noises when you downshift really strange as well but i guess here we're gonna have the opportunity to properly open it up so follow the gt black series just a little bit silly anyway i think we're gonna head back a little bit more towards base i know a lot of you will say well you're driving them more aggressively we're out on public roads there's traffic around as you can see i apologize for driving cars on roads within the legal limits and sometimes it's a little bit boring but that's why i like going to racetracks and i like going to the autobahn and finding the right places to let these things be properly unleashed as much as possible for now though let's get them back to the barn we're back at this museum then with the cars parked up and one thing i'd like to show you which you might find quite amusing is to take a look at the keys for these cars one of them for the mercedes is effectively the same key as your standard c-class in recent years the lambo key is effectively your standard audi key from recent years albeit with a slightly different end on it neither are particularly exciting because these are cars that take the manufacturer's entry models of the supercar scene if you could say the amg gt and the lamborghini hurricane and make them into something significantly wilder and that's i suppose the biggest takeaway for a road car a practical comfortable but savagely fast car when you want it to be that's going to win every time for taking around town causing a scene and grabbing a lot of attention not much is going to beat that and being pink and yellow certainly helps achieve that objective in terms of driving out on the track that did feel pretty mental i'm not going to lie this feels insanely fast but also very easy to drive to that level of performance which makes it a little bit different this is certainly more towards the raw end feels a little bit more like you need to be on your a-game to really make the most of it it's quite interesting the way modern cars are actually becoming very easy to drive exceptionally fast if you turn traction off in that thing it's a snappy little beast you need to watch out exactly what you're doing with it and i imagine putting on the track tires will make that even more so i love when you're following this how you see in the exhaust tailpipes the valves which are somewhere lurking in there opening up and you see it glowing red hot inside which is extra cool this well it's got a longer pipe of course running from the front engine towards the back so we're not going to be seeing all that much fire out of it unless you fully decatured it or something like that but i'm not going down that path what i might do is try and get a switch to control the valve just to make this a little bit more of a dramatic car to drive out on some nice roads to have the option to go full quiet or fall loud depending where exactly and what exactly is being done i find it fascinating though how those two cars like i said can cost about the same amount of money i don't know exactly what the production numbers will be the rumors are somewhere just over a thousand gt black series and if i had to guess probably about 2 000 stos but that is a guess don't know the number exactly i've heard rumors of 150 uk cars and these are only about 60 uk cars so relatively speaking here at least for this market quite different but we love our lambos and amg's tend to go more to the usa and to other markets as well so it varies depending around the world when it comes to these topics also but for today pretty fun to drive them back to back to think a little bit more about this so i hope you enjoyed the video i like to do this with various of the schmie mobiles i know they're all covered up we've done it before with the likes of the center and the ford gt with the aston gt8 and the vanquish back at the time and with plenty of the others as well so let me know if there are any interesting heads if i can call it that you would like to see coming up soon though i do want to get these two up against one another for a bit of a drag race and possibly some of the others as well it'd be fascinating to see what the tycan would do against each of those maybe stay tuned maybe we can make that happen for now though that is all thank you very much for watching as always guys your support is hugely appreciated and i'll see you again very soon cheers you\n"
