A Call with Ian and the Shop

Ian took a call from one of his audience members, and they had some questions about what's been going on with the shop lately. The first question was about the air-cooled motor that Ian had been working on. "It's like a whole stand it all rotates the Pistons fire it's pretty cool dude," the caller said. Ian was excited to share more details about the project, but he also acknowledged that it would take some time to finish and get back to regular operations.

The shop is currently packed with cars, and Ian explained that they were trying to clear out a few vehicles to make room for the 720, which had been stuck in the shop for repairs. The audience member's car was still waiting on a new clutch, which had been sent off to be upgraded by Dawson. "I sent your clutch back out to Dawson to upgrade it and put even bigger stuff in there than what we did previously cuz they had a new setup come out so we did all that," Ian said. Once the 720 is finished, the team would install the new exhaust system and finish up the work on Ian's car.

Ian also mentioned the wrap job he had done on his Ralo, which turned out well despite a few imperfections. "It kind of covers up a few of the little imperfections that were on this car so now it's like super cohesive," Ian said. The team at PFS had done a great job with the design, and the result looked amazing.

The caller also asked about the Gintani exhaust system that Ian was interested in getting for his car. "I have this car called a Ralo yeah I got one too people want to know well by people I mean these guys over here on the other side of this lens they want to know if I can get the infamous gintani exhaust yeah I'll give you the one that's off my car since my car is getting turbos," Ian said. The team had been looking forward to installing this exhaust system, and it would be a great way to show off their skills.

The conversation also touched on Ian's regret about selling his previous car GT. "I was on Gumball and a guy drove one for all of Gumball I was like you're a maniac that's awesome it's awesome," the caller said, recalling an experience with Ian's old car. Ian explained that he had been thinking about buying a new car, specifically a Career GT.

The caller asked about the ETA for the exhaust system and when they could expect to see the 720 go up on the lift. "Hopefully, next week, 720 will go up there hopefully when everything's there and you get those cars out," Ian said. The team was working hard to finish the repairs, but it would take a few more weeks.

Finally, the caller asked about a comment that had been made online regarding Ian bumping a client for them. "I've never asked you to bump a client for me have I no thank you cuz some people some people on the internet like to try to read between the lines and they're like oh that's a dig at DDE because they try to get everything they want whenever they want it and it's like no bro I pay my bills right if you did that then the center would be on the lift and one of these cars would be off of it and that's absolutely not the case so exactly comments just shut the Alex says all the haters can shut the up," Ian said, explaining his side of the situation.

more vibrant in person as well it is yeah what do you think of the Livery Mia it looks crazy I love it cuz I hadn't seen it without the the front end fully on yeah the last time you were here it was kind of in pieces yeah I mean I got the gist cuz you guys were holding it up to the car but all together it looks amazing it does and it's all about the detail so if you remember on the McLaren F1 they have all these little pieces of metallic gray that come down like this and you have to go look at any photos on the internet of either the F1 or you can look at the P1 GTR that they did as a homage to this car right from MSO and this car is kind of a mix of both it has probably more body lines that resemble a P1 than it definitely does an F1 f1's more of a a wedge shape and the p1's got more rounder sleeker lines which this has a lot more of those Jason used a reference of a P1 GTR with the Lark in a photo to kind of like guide where this scalping if you will would go because this is very important that if you get this wrong it can really mess up the whole lines of the car because the angle and then obviously coming down the back quarter panel here and then the two scalloping pieces that come up and then in the end I heard you guys and I 100% agreed with you that the carbon kind of McLaren as Inlet here needed to go from carbon and be wrapped so it Blended in and honestly I love it this makes it look so much more complete in my opinion so shout out to you DD fam who suggested that we go ahead and do that touchup we also did a few other things like we made this a little bigger I think we cleaned up a few things on here this was always nailed this looks so good the McLaren 720 GTR on the wing last but not least this car needs a motor so until we get the motor we're just going to take it right now out of Jason's hair back over the ddhq which means it is a problem to figure out how to get it on a tow truck put on the truck and go on the rally dude I'm telling you that would be hilarious that could be a video next next Gumball Rally we'll bring this on the trailer we'll just do a local like couple of day rally and we'll go with AO and just that'd be actually quite a bit of fun zoom out it's on the tow truck inside you don't know and then you zoom out it's on there you to wrap the tow truck to match the car oh my gosh that would be so sick Jason the next it's very bright yeah I agree it is way more vibrant in person as well it is yeah what do you think of the Livery Mia it looks crazy I love it cuz I hadn't seen it without the the front end fully on yeah the last time you were here it was kind of in pieces yeah I mean I got the gist cuz you guys were holding it up to the car but all together it looks amazing it does and it's all about the detail so if you remember on the McLaren F1 they have all these little pieces of metallic gray that come down like this and you have to go look at any photos on the internet of either the F1 or you can look at the P1 GTR that they did as a homage to this car right from MSO and this car is kind of a mix of both it has probably more body lines that resemble a P1 than it definitely does an F1 f1's more of a a wedge shape and the p1's got more rounder sleeker lines which this has a lot more of those Jason used a reference of a P1 GTR with the Lark in a photo to kind of like guide where this scalping if you will would go because this is very important that if you get this wrong it can really mess up the whole lines of the car because the angle and then obviously coming down the back quarter panel here and then the two scalloping pieces that come up and then in the end I heard you guys and I 100% agreed with you that the carbon kind of McLaren as Inlet here needed to go from carbon and be wrapped so it Blended in and honestly I love it this makes it look so much more complete in my opinion so shout out to you DD fam who suggested that we go ahead and do that touchup we also did a few other things like we made this a little bigger I think we cleaned up a few things on here this was always nailed this looks so good the McLaren 720 GTR on the wing last but not least this car needs a motor so until we get the motor we're just going to take it right now out of Jason's hair back over the ddhq which means it is a problem to figure out how to get it on a tow truck put on the truck and go on the rally dude I'm telling you that would be hilarious that could be a video next next Gumball Rally we'll bring this on the trailer we'll just do a local like couple of day rally and we'll go with AO and just that'd be actually quite a bit of fun zoom out it's on the tow truck inside you don't know and then you zoom out it's on there you to wrap the tow truck to match the car oh my gosh
