My Current Rig and Peripherals
I know I'm pretty out of date when it comes to my hardware, but hey, that's okay. I work for Newegg TV, so I can get a new video card anytime I want. Just kidding, not really. If you guys are curious about the peripherals I use, I've mentioned them in previous videos. For those who haven't heard yet, that's a CM Storm trigger with Cherry MX Browns, Logitech G500 Mouse, and my DT 880 Pro audio dynamic headphones. They're always awesome, and I've got a fan to do some personal cooling. I also have a Bose Companion 2 speaker system that gets the job done. Usually, I use my GTX 80 Pros when I'm gaming because they sound amazing with the Asus Zonar sence STX sound card that I still have in this system.
My Test Bed
I've got a test bed from work that's what we use for all of our testing at Newegg TV. It's an X79 platform, and it's got a 3970x clocked at 4500 MHz. That's definitely a decent overclock, and it's got a SiI 12 20x from Cooler Master cooling it down. Underneath the card, I've got a GTX 780 which I've been doing some testing on recently. I've also been testing the GTX Titan again to compare it to the newer card that's just beneath it, but I'm not going to tell you what that card is. You guys can go ahead and take a guess, though - most of you will probably know.
High-Resolution Panels
I've got a high-resolution panel that I ordered from work, but I'm actually borrowing it for the weekend to do some more high-resolution testing for you guys. It's a 2560 x 1440 panel, and I just brought it home for the weekend. However, I won't have to be bringing this home because I just ordered a Cix monitor from Newegg believe it or not. Cix is one of those Korean panel monitors that most of you know of, and Newegg now sells a bunch of Korean panels if you guys haven't checked them out already, I highly suggest you do so. I got my monitor for about $350, which is a pretty good deal.
My Room
Let me give you a wider shot of my room, but keep in mind that this isn't actually my full room - it's just a little nook that I operate from. You can see there's a doorway over there, and to your left, you can see the studio softbox light. That's where I spend most of my time doing benchmarking and gaming. Underneath all the crap on my bed, you can see my fan, because I get hot and sweaty at night - yeah, that's me.
There's also a dresser in the corner with a Leap Motion on it that I've never used and don't intend to use - I'm not sure why it's there. To your right, you'll see a copy of Battlefield 4, which is one of my favorite games. And if you look really closely, you can even spot a Flip Minnow, which hasn't been seen in ages. And, of course, I have to give a shoutout to Scotch, because it's always more Scotch - and yeah, that's pretty much my room.
The Roommate Unveiling
I've been talking about doing the roommate unveiling for so long now, but it's kind of been difficult to coordinate with my roommates and their schedules. I'm going to make sure that you guys are in for a real treat when this video comes out - probably the day the card launches, actually. And, yeah, I might have a couple videos coming out soon too.
I didn't want to confirm what's been benchmarking lately because I want you guys to keep guessing until then. But rest assured that the roommate unveiling is coming soon, and it's going to be something special. You guys are probably going to get a kick out of it, so make sure you're subscribed to Awesome Sauce News if you haven't already. That way, you won't miss anything when this video comes out.
