**Testing the Fractal Design Meshify C Case**
The first one I wanted to test was God of War Ragnarok so this can definitely give some of the higher-end systems a run for its money at ultra settings and right now we're at Ultra 1440p with dlss set to Quality. I'll tell you with dlss completely off I was seeing an average of around 64 but there were a couple cases where I saw it drop down to around 58. But just enabling that dlss brings it up from an average of 64 to an average of 98 FPS. Doom Eternal I know it's an older one but it's still a lot of fun to play in recently I've been kind of going back through the game so I figured I'd throw it in here 1440p Ultra nightmare. I knew we'd be able to run this just fine but I wasn't sure how well we're seeing an average of 231 FPS.
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra 1440p is another one that's definitely within our capabilities. I'm not a huge fan of raid tracing and of course we could enable it using some dlss or even frame generation, but with it setup like this I'm seeing an average of 87 FPS and I don't mind playing this at medium 60 FPS heck even on igpus I'll go down to low as long as I can get 60. So at Ultra 1440p over 60 is perfectly fine with me when it comes to Esports games. On something like this, I mean Fortnite, Pubg, all of those games are going to run just fine here's Overwatch 2 ultra 1440p getting an average over 250 FPS.
Could your back in? I still like throwing this one in Shad up the Tomb Raider just using the built-in Benchmark highest 1440p no dlss averaged 184. Horizon Forbidden West very high 1440 with dlss set to Quality and with dlss off you're seeing averages right there in the mid 60s as we saw with God of War Ragnarok. We can really up those frame rates with dlss setic quality that's a big storm it's only over that Island I've never seen that before I could get a closer look from the sky and finally we've got Starfield Ultra 1440p.
**Performance Testing**
And with all of the updates that Bethesda has done with this game, we're seeing good performance on most systems out there. With higher end GPUs all of the technologies that we have we can enable here so if you wanted to use frame gen to get more out of it you could but at 1440p dlss set to Quality Ultra preset getting an average of 90 FPS overall. Seeing some amazing performance out of this machine and personally I love the form factor and look of this case.
But one of the main things I was really concerned about were the temps now we do have some nice ventilation here but it's a very compact setup and while running all of my test I did have Hardware info running in the background on average we're seeing temps around 64° C while gaming our average was 71. But while running some benchmarks and through some of my testing it did hit 92 now I actually never saw it with afterburner but Hardware info does run in the background and kind of gives me that information by the time I'm done so it did get up there at least in one case.
But while gaming and using this as an everyday PC never saw those kind of temps. And as for GPU temps we averaged 68 maximum I saw was 79 in my opinion this is by far one of the best looking PC cases out on the market and fractal does offer a few color variance they've got a white kind of gray I opted for the blue and it was kind of a tossup between blue and gray but you don't see many blue PCS so I kind of wanted something that was a bit different and this checked all the boxes for me.
**Hardware Components**
We're using a 280 mm AIO liquid cooler which we've paired up with an 8 core, 16 thread Ryzen 9000 CPU in here paired up with that RTX 470 super. And it did an amazing job while gaming. There are a bunch of different CPU and GPU combos you could go with in a case like this uh this is what I opted to use and it's more than enough for my needs but I would love to install a Radeon GPU and run something like Steam OS on this.
I think this is small enough to kind of sit inside of the living room and you know just have a couple controllers connected to it have a really nice console style interface running on it so if you want to see a video like that let me know in the comments below.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enin my opinion this is one of the best looking small form factor PC cases on the market right now and with the parts we're going to be putting inside of this we're going to be able to play anything at 1440p what's going on everybody it's ETA Prime back here again today we're going to be putting together a powerful gaming PC using the new fractal design era 2 PC case now this is something I've been waiting on for a while now they do offer a few different colors but as you can see I mean this is an absolutely beautiful case and it is coming in at a relatively small form factor it's actually a mini ITX case but don't let the size fool you because we can fit a 280 mm AIO up top and a GPU with a max length of 326 mm so we can shove a lot of power inside of this small form factor case I love the way this thing comes apart and I have built inside of a lot of the newer fractal design cases this one's turning out to be one of my favorites they have right now down here does come with two pre-installed 120 millimeter fans plus we've got our PCI ER Riser so we don't have to worry about that and when it comes to the parts I'm going to be using in this I will go over everything as we're putting it together and I'll leave links in the description so getting right down to it when it comes to the motherboard I opted for one of my favorite miniitx B 650s on the market right now this is the MSI Edge Wi-Fi and with their latest bios update they do claim that we will get better performance at a rise of 9000 so for the CPU I went with the AMD ryzen 9700x but to tell you the truth with all of my testing so far you're going to see really good performance out of something like the 7700x and you can save quite a bit of money off the top Ram is going to be handled by 32 GB of Viper gaming ddr5 running at 7,000 mahz and for storage I went with the 2 tbte m.2 SSD from Kingston it's actually a Kingston Fury now that we've got the motherboard together it's time to install it inside of the case and it's actually really simple here they've done a great job designing this thing the case does have an adjustable spine so if you're going to go with an AIO and you've got a thicker GP you can set it up that way or vice vers if you want to go air cooled with a thinner GPU you can just slide it over that way really nice little setup here but that motherboard just kind of Falls right into place now I need to wire everything up I've also plugged in my PCI Eiser we're going to need a power supply for this thing and it only supports an sfx and I would highly recommend getting a shorter sfx something like the newer cooler Masters this is a 700 WT fully modular that I had laying around but it is one of the longer versions now everything will fit it just makes it a bit easier going with a shorter sfx PSU to keep that 9700x cool I opted to use the fractal Lumen s24 RGB so we've got a 240 mm AIO from fractal should fit in here quite nicely but remember you can do their 280 so the fractal Lumen 28 will also fit that ryzen 9700x does have an igpu buil in but we're not going to get much 1440p gaming done on that so for this build I'm going with the Asus Prime RTX 470 super I may swap out for something like a Radeon 7800x that way I can run Linux and Steam OS on this machine but for now since we're going to be running Windows 11 I'm going to be using this Nvidia RTX 470 super which should offer some really good 1440p gaming performance so I've basically got everything finished up and to tell you the truth with this build if I could change one thing would be that power supply I'd just go with the shorter sfx makes it a bit easier for everything to but the way it is it actually goes together pretty nicely and I thought that cable management would be such a pain with this unit here there's not a lot of room to work with but what they've done here does allow you to kind of Route everything really nicely up front here we've got a couple USB ports and USB type-c plus our power button we'll go ahead and boot this up for the first time little bit of RGB on that Viper Ram internally and both of those fans for that aiio also have some rgp so it is throwing a a little bit of light out it's definitely not Overkill I've gone through installed Windows 11 Pro I've also updated the bios for that MSI Motherboard and I am seeing a gain in performance on this 9700x with geekbench 6 single core coming in with a 3,366 multi 1 7,634 and just to give you an idea when this chip first launched on the same exact board single core was 2,800 multi was a little over 16,000 and that was running at around an 85 watt TDP this can now boost up to 140 Watts with that bios update I also ran a couple 3D Mark benches here we have steel Nomad 4,516 and of course we had a runtime spine coming in with an 18, 573 so just taking a look at these synthetic benchmarks yeah I mean we've got a pretty powerful setup here with that RTX 470 super but these are synthetics and now we need to check out some real world gaming and the first one I wanted to test was God of War Ragnarok so this can definitely give some of the higher-end systems a run for its money at ultra settings and right now we're at Ultra 1440p with dlss set to Quality I'll tell you with dlss completely off I was seeing an average of around 64 but there were a couple cases where
