Peugeot 3008 SUV 2020 in-depth review _ carwow Reviews

**A Closer Look at the Peugeot 308 2008: A Practical and Stylish SUV**

As I sit here, surrounded by the sleek design of the Peugeot 308 2008, I am reminded that this car is all about versatility. With its spacious interior and ample legroom, it's no wonder that this vehicle has become a favorite among those who need a reliable ride for daily commutes or family errands.

One of the standout features of the 308 2008 is its turbocharged engine. While diesel engines may be more efficient, I personally recommend opting for the 1.2L turbo petrol engine. With 130 horsepower and an estimated 41mpg, this engine provides a great balance between performance and fuel economy. Additionally, the automatic gearbox does a commendable job in responding to driver input, although it's worth noting that the manual transmission is nothing to write home about.

Another key aspect of the 308 2008 is its design. With its wind-swept lines and angular silhouette, this car is sure to turn heads on the road. However, some may find that visibility can be a bit compromised, particularly when it comes to blind spots. The rearview window, in particular, can make it difficult to get an optimal view of what's behind you.

In terms of features, the 308 2008 has its fair share of quirks. For instance, some users have noted that the twin tailpipes are a bit on the nose, but thankfully they're just a clever trick designed to deceive enthusiasts into thinking this is a V8 engine. Similarly, the glovebox is smaller than expected, and the cupholders can be a bit finicky if you prefer a manual transmission.

However, these minor complaints aside, there's no denying that the 308 2008 has some fantastic features up its sleeve. Take, for example, the clever door covers that prevent mud from entering the car. Or the LED puddle lighting that illuminates your path when driving at night. These little touches show that Peugeot has put a lot of thought into creating a practical and enjoyable driving experience.

**Cool Features Galore**

One of my personal favorite features in the 308 2008 is the multi-sensory experience system. With just one button press, you can switch between two different modes: Relax or Boost. This alters the ambient lighting and scent released through the car's ventilation system – a subtle but thoughtful touch that adds to the overall sense of luxury.

Additionally, some trim levels come with features like massage functions for the front seats and adjustable lumbar support. And if you're feeling particularly fancy, you can even get isce fix fittings on the front passenger seat to keep your trousers clean when driving through muddy terrain.

**Verdict**

All in all, I think the Peugeot 308 2008 is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a practical and stylish SUV. With its excellent fuel economy, comfortable ride, and generous feature list, it's no wonder this car has become a fan favorite among drivers of all ages.

Of course, there are some minor quibbles to be had – particularly when it comes to visibility and infotainment systems – but overall, I think the 308 2008 is well worth considering. And with the right trim level, you can get an average saving of around £25,000 on a brand-new car.

So if you're in the market for a reliable and enjoyable ride that won't break the bank, be sure to check out the Peugeot 308 2008 – I think you'll find it's a winner.

xil Vidal now you're probably thinking I don't recognize him is he a french actor well no he's not he's actually the head of design at pers he's the guy responsible for the look of this car so yeah it is a smart looking thing but it's not all that expensive it starts from just over 21,000 if you click up there to get a carat. co.uk you can compare offers from dealers and buy a price you're confident in and if you think the outside looks good you should see the inside but I'm going to show you that in a bit because I want to talk about practicality first so this car is available with one of those automated tailgates you have to wave your foot underneath and then it opens automatically then you're greeted by one of the biggest boots in this class it's absolutely huge now you might be thinking oh no you got a bit of a lift to lift stuff over but no I'll just take this out and show you that I can raise this there we go I can raise the fce floor up so there's no load lip left now I just hide this under there to keep it out of the way put it next to the space saver spare wheel there's some other features I want to show you in this boot so you got tethering points there you got a 12vt socket there there's a couple of pockets for storing things there and then if you want to remove the parle Shelf one of the good things about this car is that as well as your iPad it too will fit under the false floor there we go so another feature is this you can fold down the r seats using levers here you got ski hatch there if you need it I'll just do this one as well and then with the seats folded youve got a continuous boot floor so it's easy to slide things to the front now in the back seats can be asked to do the foot wavy thing there just push it down it's quicker now head in the back the first thing you got to notice if you got the seats folded down yeah you have to first do this with a seat belt otherwise you're going to snag it completely I'll just put this one back as I'm going to to do that over here as well otherwise it's going to snag it's a bit annoying okay so there we go we're all right now so in terms of space here in the back now if I sit up straight you'll see that there isn't all that much head room and that's because this car has the panoramic sunroof it eats into head space people over 6ot will just about be able to squeeze in with it here but if you don't have it on the car then you've got more head room it's a shame because knee room is really good on the whole it's quite a comfy car to sit in kids will like it as well cuz you got massive back windows for them to see out of it's also pretty good for carrying three in the back at once as well so this seat is nice and soft also you got a flat floor and there's plenty of foot space so yeah when you're in the middle it's actually all right now if you want to see what it's like with three adults in the back of this car just click up there to watch my detail practicality video review of this car and as well as that you'll be able to see how easy it is to fit a chart seat in here and just how much stuff you can cram into this car's boot speaking of practicality the door bins in this car are a decent size and those in the front are actually lined with felt to stop stuff rattling about I mean that's the kind of thing that VW do it's very very thoughtful of PUO and that brings us on to this car's interior which is way better than anything by Volkswagen I mean I'm going give you a moment to just look at it and take it all in as far as I'm concerned there is no car that has an interior as interesting at this especially not this price point I mean really is incredible and the quality is there as well so the materials feel nice and plush and I really like the fact you got fabric up here on the dash and of course there's plenty of silvery bits of trim about the place but the PS resistance it's my best French accent I'm afraid is this this huge digital drivers's display now on an Audi you'd have to pay extra for that but no you get it a standard on all perso 3008 and you can swipe through different menus and displays As You Wish also on this car as standard you get reverse parking sensors you also get an 8in touchscreen and yeah it's all right and if you click up there you can get my full in-depth video review of the entertainment system however it doesn't come with satnav on the entry card but it does come with apple carplay and mirror link for your mobile phone so you can just use satnav off your phone like I say step up and you do get the satinav which is based on TomTom and it is okay and this car actually is towards the top of the range it's the GT line so it's got quite a lot of kit on it but then perso has added an extra £5,000 worth of options to it such as these lovely leather seats and all this adds up to make a car that just feels way more expensive than the price suggests now though it's time to hit the road this Perse little steering wheel may suggest that it's sporty to drive but yeah it's not really it's not bad so it does go around corners well enough there's enough grip it doesn't roll about but it never describe it as being fun in the same way that a sayka can be however the flip side is that it's really quite comfortable so the suspension it deals well with bumps even if you got big wheels it doesn't seem to impact on the right Comfort at all it's it's nice enough you do feel the imperfections occasionally but it's never ever annoying it's quite a nice car to just cruise around in terms of noise there's not too much Tire raw you maybe get a bit of wind whistle from the wing mirrors that's about it it's quite a nice car to just zip up and down the motorway now if you are one of those people that does lots of Miles you'll probably want one of the Diesels and there's quite a few to choose from a choice of 1,600 or 2 L engines and the want to go for is the higher power 1.6 with 120 horsepower but I say if you can avoid it don't get a diesel get the engine in this car it's a 1.2 L turbo petrol and it's lovely it's got about 130 horsepower hour and pero says it'll do 55 m per gallon the trick computer on this car saying saying 41 which isn't too bad considering this is quite a big car and it's quite a small engine this one's got the automatic gearbox made to it and the auto does quite a good job it responds when you want it to and the manual it's all right you know it's not one of the best but it's not one of the worst and I think yeah it's it's not bad this car if there is one issue it's some of the blind spots so on the whole visibility is good cuz you're jacked up and you feel like you've got an imperial driving position but there's quite a thick pillar there but the worst thing is the view out the back it's got quite a small back window and if you click up there you can see for yourself by joining me for a 360° passenger Ride video now a few people might have a complaint with this car because even though it may claim to be an SUV you can't get any model of 2008 with all-wheel drive they're all front-wheel drive only though you can get something called grip control which is like a clever version of electronic stability program which maximize your traction from the Wheels in low grip conditions and really for most people that's going to be good enough for the amount of off-roading you're ever going to do now then it's time for the carre five annoying things about the pjo 3 2008 oh look you get huge twin tail pipes like you find on a V8 only these are fake cuz this car is just a 1.2 pers didn't bother to move the fuse box across when converting this car to right hand drive so the glove box is only big enough for a small meal that's never going to fill me up the position of the cup holders means that if you've got a manual car you'll be constantly hitting your arm on your drink operating the climate control is one button press too many so you first have to press that before you can do things like change the temperature there's no adjustment in the headrest for the rear Central seat you can either have it down or out thankfully there's still plenty to like about this car and so here's the carw top five cool things about the pjo 2008 it doesn't matter if you drive through some mud because the door covers the sill to keep it clean so you don't get your trousers grubby when you climb up the puddle lighting illuminates your foot path as you walk into the car at night look you can see it there and it's even got a little lion logo in it yeah you can't be showing something off that involves light in the middle of the day you can get the car with something called a multi- sensory experience and at the Press of a button you can choose between two different modes there's relax or boost and that alters the cause ambient lighting and the perfume sprayed through the car's ventilation system which is come handy if you've been eating onions there's isce fix fittings on the front passenger seat and you can get the front passenger seat backed to fold all the way down which is Handy if you want to carry long items you can get the car with a
