The Creation of a Unique Lamborghini Interior
A full custom template was chosen from another pole position that I had laced up with Lamborghini leather, which didn't quite make sense at first but felt really nice. The pattern is actually based on a 964 RSC and was created by taking a ruby star 964 and modifying the hue of the seats inside to figure out what gradient would look and feel similar to the original car. This process involved playing with subtle differences in color that made them tie together well, despite not making perfect sense when viewed alone.
The Design Process Was Collaborative
I'd like to give a big shoutout to my buddy Wes who helped me out a lot with figuring out all the little details to get the seat perfect. We worked together to ensure that every aspect of the interior was accurate and period-correct, but also had a nice flair. The goal was to create an OE (original equipment) look while still making it unique. I'm excited to see how everything comes together.
The Seats Are a Highlight
I think this is going to be like the perfect chef's kiss on the entire build. If you have the 964 shirt already, you may have noticed that it already has the seats in it – we knew it was coming and thought it would be a cool little Easter egg if anyone noticed. Despite some speculation, no one actually commented on it.
Shoutouts to Chris and Ultimate Auto E3 Customs
A massive shoutout to Chris over at Ultimate Auto E3 customs who helped me spec out the coolest seats for this build that are still kind of OE period-correct but also have a nice little flare. I'm looking forward to doing the rest of the interior, which will make the car even more special.
The Backseat Brackets
Apparently, you can just mount a slider right to the floor in this car – that would be sick. However, as we know with seats, it's never that easy. I have an hour to do this install before the car needs to leave in the trailer, so we'll see how it goes.
The Seats Are Heavy
I really do like these seats; they're heavy dude, and I bet we're going to save like 40 lbs. That sounds good right? Yeah, yep, back in the C Mo Cosmo's coming back – I'm excited to up my game.
The Mounting Options
I'm on the fence if I like the raw aluminum or not. Ricaro made aluminum side mounts which is kind of cool being a little bit weighty. However, I think I'm going to leave The Branding on it too. I kinda like it; it's a little car look.
The Seats Fit (Mostly)
I find it hard to believe that the seat will be the perfect width for the car because there's no adjustment on this like it slides. Going to have to add spacers to the seat – we'll see how it goes.
Final Touches
This car's got to leave and start heading up North, so I'm stoked to enjoy it. Hope you guys enjoy the progress, and I'll see you with the next one.
The Performance Results
First number's two; it got in the 20s – second number's nine 29; third number zero. It's the fastest car, no way nobody knows you like I do I do\\n
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enit's the fastest car way she really wants Pete to be the first person to Christ all right guys welcome to today's video I got really good news and really bad news the really good news is this is probably the largest transformation we're ever going to see with a 964 in one video it finally has the dream engine and drivetrain set up so now we get to do all the fun suspension interior bits the bad news though is I've been filming this Vlog over the past couple days and there's this stupid button on the top that you press and then the mic stops working so you're going to get a very creative voice over from myself for the first portion of this video what is up guys and welcome to today's video here we got my mint Porsche and it is all hands on deck in preparation during this thing this Smokey Sean how do you like working on a Porsche oh it's not RB but you know it's still good time and what is this a wild Canadian back here two of them bonjour bonjour we are just filling up oil oh it's so good to have all my friends here working on the car but we got a kind of funny story I got to explain why the Canadians are here you know um you want to explain Bud yeah so listen we make a mistake uh and we are very good guys so we will come to Florida and we will fix mistake and what mistake did you make well we put Putin instead of oil in your engine well see it's a common mistake for people in Canada to do this um you want to explain why this happened it's hard to explain but so basically we were FaceTiming there's an oil leak which is very annoying because we drive the car many miles and there was no oil leaks um but uh we wanted to make it right for you and we had a feeling that something happened with the rear main seal so before you were back from Ireland we had the engine out of the car rear main seal replaced and back in but we didn't want to just replace the seal because what if it was something that caused it we actually hooked up the catch can wrong it's a new catch can we haven't worked with that created extra current case pressure and that is what caused rear Me Seal to pop so you're all good now we got taken care of so you can enjoy this thing and have no more issues you know me as a YouTuber I expect everything handled to me on a silver platter uh but I really didn't expect these guys to come in and fly just on literally no notice to come and make good so all jokes aside I'm very very very appreciative that they went out of their way to come down to make this thing right it was definitely critical to get it done and I'm appreciative that they made it happen no no listen poutine was not put in your engine I just want to clarify all right we like it but we don't like it that much we use 2050 in the engine that's the oil that we like to use believe it or not all right so while they're finishing up the final bits and Bobs I am going to be starting on these beautiful uprights these are BBI uprights they are 993 RS uprights so basically this is a drop knuckle that allows the car to have better suspension geometry at a lower ride height transforming the way that the car drives uh RS uprights got really really expensive from the dealer so then you buy those and then you can also Mount uh big brakes to them so these are 993 actually these aren't 993 these are big black brakes they're like the Big Reds but they're black I forget what car they come on but they just bolt up to the new Knuckles um and everything should hopefully bolt up I'll have better brakes way better geometry and the car will turn in much sharper look at these beautiful OEM rotors I've never seen a finish like that with the checkerboard meados going on uh Canadians showing me how to do things Sean shaking his head because the tie rods are uh like weird they're like FDF TI rods so he was like wow that's crazy I've never seen something like that on the skyline the ep9 boys fixed the leak so fast that I was able to take advantage of them being here to help me a little bit on some of the weird stuff uh that was going on with the little break swap ran into a couple issues and figured out that I needed different parts he was like of course you idiot we do this all the time you should have asked us before ordering the wrong Parts um how many people does it take to do a break job on 964 well are they Canadian or are they Americans cuz it takes two Canadians or like four Americans that's offensive I don't say that again to me guy Bon ptin this is about the moment that we realized I got the wrong Parts because 964 turbo rotors don't work with these uprights because they're 993 uprights uh they just don't bolt and what we wound up doing was getting some of these beautiful 993 rotors uh that are actually Factory floating rotors super cool and um those allowed everything to bolt up nicely to switch up the pace for a little bit I am pretty excited to let you guys know we are getting back to a lot of the BMW builds behind the scenes and a lot of good stuff is coming you guys know the e92 we pulled out of retirement it's actually over at PSI and they're starting to update and go through a lot of stuff on that and then we're going to be given the first car E46 sedan quite a bit of love I don't know if you could tell but I finally got those super rare 9-in style fives in the back to give me a little bit better Tire stretch while still having a 235 instead of it looking square or weird man on camera that rear bumper color definitely needs to be adjusted that's going to drive me nuts add it to the list I had a weird spurt where I put a lot of time and energy into this car and like it's actually really sick the interior's dope um but I kind of lost motivation because I thought it had a bad head gasket and actually I think it just turned out to be a scaven pump issue where it was burning a bunch of oil from the turbo but one thing while I've been diving back into all these old BMW builds that has been super helpful is this Carly device now they are the sponsor of today's video but I want to share with you guys why this thing is so cool and how helpful it is whether you're an Enthusiast that's modifying everything like myself or even if you just have a normal daily driver you just take it plug it into your OBD Port download the app we got the app connected now we'll go to Diagnostics and as you can see this thing's got quite a few issues do a little poking we'll click the engine issue and we'll see we have signal active oil level sensor although on this car because it's been heavily modified we might just not have one hooked up but in the event that it was a normal car let's just say that sensor went bad you could run out of oil and lose your engine the smart mechanic feature is also very cool so we'll click this one that says Central chassis electronics and when we click smart mechanic you get a full guide of really helpful information and avoid having to search through old forums and junk which is what I used to do back in the day before I had something like the Carly device one really cool feature of the Carly is that for specific Vehicles you can unlock a bunch of coding features which is very popular in the BMW Market allowing you to configure everything from lighting features to comfort access features but to be honest the feature that I use the most is checking and clearing codes even on newer cars like when I was building the gr Corolla sometimes you forget to unplug something when you're doing modification you end up with an error code or a check engine light and it puts the car in lit mode which makes it not fun to drive so that Carly device be nice and small and convenient you can keep it in your glove Bo and if you ever run into an issue or you need to clear a code you're covered and you can get your car running back to normal with just one click of a button don't get overcharged by mechanics you can get a lot of information on your car's Health to make informed decisions and save money and you guys can click the link in the description and get 15% off your Carly device it's a great thing to have handy and there's a lot that you can do with it I appreciate Carly sponsoring this video and I appreciate you guys supporting the brands that support me all right so to kind of recap in case my voice over didn't really explain the situation the best basically when the car got here we started to notice a little drip in the rear we suspected it was coming from a rear main seal and both Emil and Patrick from ep9 flew down here literally with a days notice because they're like look we stand behind our work we want to make sure we give you the best end product and I thought it was a really standup thing to do as a shop I also spoke with him was like do you want me to not include this in the video he's like no show it like I think it sets a better example of how we stand behind our work than to just hide a mistake that we made so it was a really really easy thing to do basically two the catch can lines were flipped and it wasn't allowing the engine to breathe which caused excess crank Cas pressure which pushed out the main so I'm glad they came down they got it all sorted so we can have full confidence no Leakes we now have the BBI uprights installed which in addition to being a drop knuckle allowing better suspension geometry it also flattens out the tie rod which gives us less bump steer I got the new Big brakes which are actually the stock rear calipers with upgraded rotors and then the front is a it's essentially a big red it's just the factory version that's black so it steps up the front brake size a little bit with all the upgraded Ren line bushings now on the car the front is all reinforced the transmount is now reinforced since we had the engine out it was a good time to do that we got the RS way bar is now on full stiff which should make the car feel a lot better now one other thing that happened with the car while I was in Ireland was ppf so this car uh I don't know if I've said it in a video but we have checked it with a paint meter it is literally all original paint except for one door appears to have been resprayed because the paint's a little bit thicker and then obviously the front bumper if you remember uh did I show it in the video how it got damaged in the trailer but anyway that's repainted now so I took it over to the Boys At Ultimate Auto uh they're my go-to for any sort of tint ppf needs um they have an amazing shop over in Orlando and they do a lot of really high-end work so I know they're going to take care of me we were time limited so I just had them do the main impact areas but they basically Decon the car and they did St Dino shield on pretty much all the impact areas of the car so like front bumper hood fenders mirrors Rockers are all now protected the thing that I love about st's film it has a really nice built-in top coat to it that is super easy to clean Super hydrophobic really really easy to maintain but the biggest thing is the level of clarity in the film it's not like some films where you get like a crazy orange peel I would say it looks like factory paint if I didn't say anything you guys probably wouldn't have even noticed um I do want to add though they wanted me to add a disclaimer that they did this car super in a rush just to meet the timeline since the engine needed to come out go back in so there's a few little things that they would like to do better but this is all zero templates all custom work and I think it looks amazing I don't even see any seams um I'm absolutely stoked the big thing was going up to the Smoky Mountains with a car with Virgin paint I did not want to be scared to follow people and get a rock chip and be bummed uh and one other thing I want to emphasize if you didn't catch my last video we are doing a charity drive for Hurricane Relief on Sunday at MPC Motorsport in Knoxville we're only going to be there for an hour and a half the idea is not to have a big car meet but to collect supplies for all of the families that were in the areas that were absolutely devastated by the hurricane uh we want to emphasize also not to come if you're on the east side because we don't want to cause traffic on any of the roads that could interfere with rescue oper ations we are going to be enjoying most of the West Side Of The Smokies where there's still some good roads just to stay far away from all that's going on but we wanted to get as close as we could and that's in Knoxville where we can meet up collect a bunch of stuff I'll show you guys later this video but we got a bunch of supplies everyone of the compounds been coming together to load this trailer up and bring as much as we can to support those guys up there I feel like a lot of what I'm doing is compensating for what in my opinion are too soft of spring rates on this car so I probably should change the shocks on it to something else but with time purposes we've obviously put the sway bars on full stiff I'm also going to reinforce the strut Towers I got this beautiful strut brace from Ren line so this will kind of pop in tie down right about here and then if there is some flexing which I know these cars do Flex a lot that should prevent it so I'm going to pop this in real quick and then I think before I do the seats which is like my my icing on the cake of what I'm excited to do and show with you guys because it's probably the coolest thing I'm going to be doing to this car uh I'm going to do this and I want to do a lap time I know before we did it with the car automatic with the original engine so it's going to be a huge difference come on come on see if I can get a little rotation here nope oh we're moving but I'm also using it as my Shakedown of the car before I go and take it on some spirited roads I want to find out if anything's going to be rubbing if there's anything weird going on because it does need to get loaded in the trailer today so what's crazy is in Ren Lin's instructions they say to put slight inward pressure on this bar um I guess that's to hold everything in Spec but what's crazy is I can literally turn this with one hand and I can hear the strut Towers flexing kind of ridiculous slight inward pressure hear it yeah I don't like that cracking the car's back we just lock it down and she good to go I will have not have driven anything this tight with this car yet um I'm on the fence cuz I feel like first gear would almost be better cuz second gear is kind of a little long in this car this car is going to be really fast off the line too cuz it Doesn't spin I change the tires on it so it's going to hook like an all wheeel drive car yeah so I I think it's going to be a pretty good time I think I don't really know how this car is going to handle pushing it like this so I'm going to take it easy on the first lap get the tires warm and uh who knows sometimes that ends up being the fastest time but sometimes it doesn't so fast o rub a little bit there trying to drive around the rubbing way this thing bites around corners is insane brakes are really good too this is a fast car that's for sure I know the numbers don't translate well to this car being as fast as it is like horsepower wise tire size weight but the way that this thing just moved around this tiny little compound course mind-blowing I think this could be up there with some of the fastest cars that have lap this place I'm torn because it looks so cool but I do get a little bit of rubbing on the fender well so it's like do I raise it or can I still buy Fender Wells you know it's not that annoying it's only like when you hit a bump while you're turning like most real life Corners don't have corners as tight right so maybe I raise at like two spins of the shot you know just enough yeah this thing was incredible though like it's a little rocket ship I think second gear is a little long for this course but it feels so like not even just loose but fast yeah like it's it's going to be fast that I'm usually a guy that gets a lot of I don't I think the proper term for it is like post-p purchase dissatisfaction I usually spend a lot of money on something and then I'm disappointed in the end this is one of the few projects builds where I've been very satisfied post purchase with all the things that I've done to the car the suspension mods the power mods and it feels really good it feels really good even getting it from Japan I expected this thing to not be nice and it came out so nice good times all right I guess let's see if we can go faster little over steer there ah they saying you just touch the gas and it just plants through rear end little Dancy on this one nice and smooth there how you feel the car do so much but how you use the gas good car good good car now I technically shouldn't try to drift this thing but I feel like also I kind of have to let's see if Mike knows if it's coming this is kind of like my ritual after a lap I don't want to smoke the tires before the it's a thought that counts dude it this thing moves around a lot it's fast it's going to be fast I'm excited to see the lap timer does a all right before you tell me the time I feel like I do need to explain something pretty much all of these cars in the 29's are on like an AR comp 100 tread wear borderline slick everything 31 and up is like a comparable Tire to what's on that okay so what did it do first number's two it got in the 20s second number's N9 29 third number is zero so it's the fastest car it's the fastest car way 2905 2905 I can't imagine that thing on slicks right what this so just for reference the turbos s was on cup twos like 335 in the rear like 285 in the front crazy car this thing's on PS4 s's which is like uh a street rain sporty All Season yeah and it just beat the entire leaderboard every single one of them with 350 horsepower this car makes 700 horsepower yeah I I think what it is is like the balance of the car mhm and the way that it allows you to get on the throttle and plan through your end yep and if it was a rubbing I feel like I could go it really was the fastest car yep that's incredible your favorite car is also your fastest car I would not expect that I wasn't expecting that either I was expecting like 31 it was just so smooth like all the other cars felt like I was going to die the whole time yeah this one was just like yep I can't believe that little rocket ship what do you know I guess there's a reason why people like these things H yeah number zero baby 964 4.0 we got to come up with a name for it cuz like they've got like the rsr I'm going to call it the lzr 29 05 let's go you could tell that most of the other handwriting isn't mine and by most I mean all I can't believe that I'm shook you're shooketh congrats dude now I got to put slicks on the EVO I feel like that's wrong dude the Evo's got to be up in the top I don't know dude I'm telling you D that launch has got to be a huge part of it the standing start and the fact that that thing just hooks probably yeah all right you could probably tell I was moving around in the car a little bit and that leads me to probably the most exciting thing that I've been I say that about every single thing with this car I've been really looking forward to this day the seats that are going in this car now I kind of need to give a little bit of a backstory to this cuz I actually bought a full spare interior for this car on eBay ultimate was going to be doing a crazy interior on the car and I made a special request of my buddy Chris and I was like hey look I know we got the whole interior slated down the road but if there's any way to get the seats done I would really love them for the Smoky Mountains I know Colette would be really upset if I'm just flailing her body all around the car rather than her being held in place look at her face so um they weren't able to fit it into their schedule but they connected me with another shop that does amazing upholstery work called E3 customs and they took my vision for what I wanted to do with these seats and they knocked it out of the park so Behold a very very very special seat and it's not only special because it has really nice upholstery but believe it or not the shell of this seat is actually recycled carbon fiber and this is an unreleased pull position from ricaro now I wanted to do something really special for this car I didn't want to do carbon or carbon Kevlar because I'm trying to keep it like kind of period correct with you know respect to a couple things like a 4 liter but this I thought was awesome cuz it was a nice little subtle detail I don't know when these seats are going to be available on the market but since the seats aren't released yet I was actually able to get the shells without covers and that's where E3 Customs stepped in so they made a full custom template off another pole position I had laced me up with Lamborghini leather I don't know what that means but it feels really nice and then this pattern is actually based on a 964 RSC what I did is I took a ruby star 964 I put it in Photoshop and I played with the Hue of the seats inside to figure out what gradient would look and feel the same way that that car did because it doesn't really make sense when you look at it none of the colors really go together but at the same time they have like just subtle differences that make them tie in really well I got to give a big shout out to my buddy Wes uh Wes helped me a lot as well with kind of figuring out all the little details to get the seat perfect like having no branding on it and even down to the stitching the perforation and everything looking right now end game I would like to do a deviated Stitch interor ior in the full car with mint stitching but I actually opted to keep black stitching on the seat because I didn't want to be too over the top with the seats and I think this is going to be like the perfect chef's kiss on the uh the entire build so if you have the 964 shirt already you may have noticed that it already has the seats in it we knew it was coming and uh kind of like a cool little Easter egg if you noticed but no one really said anything so maybe they didn't notice she really wants Pete to be the first person to sit in it Pete please Chris in the seat inspect the Feats okay approved has Pete ever been on Lamborghini leather before few times massive massive shout out to Chris over at Ultimate Auto E3 customs and of course uh my buddy Wes everyone kind of working together to help me spec out the coolest seats for this build that are still kind of OE period correct but also have a nice little flare um I'm looking forward to doing the rest of the interior being able to step it all up but uh right now just having the seats in there will be great for the mountains and we'll uh make the interior a little bit more spicy shout out Pete too yeah shout out Pete cool is these brackets allegedly you can just mount a slider right to the floor in this car that would be sick but as we know with seats it's never that easy nope I have an hour to do this install before the car needs to leave in the trailer so doesn't sound like anything new yep it's always times a tick in here yeah the back the back the back back don't hurt your back before a trip bud I really do like these seats I really hope I don't regret taking them out before a road trip but they're heavy dude I bet we're going to save like 40 lbs probably that's your intake right no the the sauce little up pipe teaser what car is that huh that's weird sounds good right yeah yep back in the C Mo Cosmo's coming back I'm going to up I think by the way you're holding that that looks a good 45 lb it might even be 60 I think I've read people saying you save like 50 lb or so and pulling them out so that'll be cool yeah I'm excited to see how everything mounts up in there it's going to look sick I'm on the fence if I like the raw aluminum or not I didn't know ricaro made aluminum side mounts which I think is kind of cool being a little bit of a weight weeny I actually think I'm going to leave The Branding on it too yeah I kind of like it it's a little car look I don't know everyone told me and by everyone I mean Wes said that I can just bolt everything up and it just fits but I find that hard to believe that the seat's going to be the perfect width for the car because there's no adjustment on this like it slides so I going to have to add spacers to the seat I don't know it could be just one of those moments where it just works that'd be crazy any minute now this car's got to leave and start heading up North so uh yeah that's it the seats came out absolutely beautiful I do think I'm going to need to do some final things to get them to be mount a little bit lower I'm going like flip the brackets and stuff but for time purposes I think they're going to stay where they're at uh a couple little last things but I'm stoked to enjoy this car hope you guys enjoy the progress and I'll see you with the next one what did it do first number's two it got in the 20s second number's nine 29 third number zero so it's the fastest car it's the fastest car no way nobody knows you like I do I do\n"
