The Artist's Process: A Glimpse into the Creative Mind
As we stepped into the artist's studio, we were immediately struck by the vibrant colors and eclectic mix of materials scattered about. The air was thick with the scent of alcohol fumes, a constant companion to the creative process. "I think you might have had too much alcohol," one of the artists joked, as they examined their latest piece, Caitlyn's abstract masterpiece. The result was a swirling vortex of colors, reminiscent of galaxies in turmoil.
The artist explained that they had been working on this piece for what felt like an eternity, with each new layer building upon the last. "It looks like an energy ball," one of them noted, as they touched up a few stray strands of cat hair that had invaded the artwork. The process was almost meditative, with each stroke of the brush or flick of the pen adding to the overall effect.
As we watched, the artist carefully applied a layer of clear acrylic, sealing in the previous layer of alcohol inks and preventing any unwanted interactions between the different materials. "This is like an anti-cat hair, anti-dust employment system," they quipped, as they carefully coated each piece with a thin layer of protection.
The next step was to add some dark spots to the artwork, creating a sense of depth and dimensionality. The artist worked with a steady hand, as if possessed by the creative spirit. "I feel like I'm channeling my inner glove," they declared, as they began to mix up a special concoction of epoxy and holographic glitter.
As the epoxy dried, we were treated to a stunning reveal – a starry night sky that seemed to pulse with life. The artist had carefully mixed in the glitter, creating a sense of depth and dimensionality that was truly breathtaking. "It's like I'm speaking directly to my inner glove," they mused, as they gazed upon their creation.
But just as we were about to leave, the artist revealed that they had a secret project up their sleeve – a special surprise for clock enthusiasts everywhere. With the help of a diamond bit abrasive hole saw and some epoxy, they began to carve out intricate designs into two porcelain pieces. "We're going to make these clocks sing," they declared, as they worked with precision and care.
As the clock pieces took shape, we couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the artist's skill and creativity. The use of liquid gilding was a bold move, and it seemed to bring out the full potential of the gold paint. "Why didn't we just do this initially?" one of them asked, as they examined their handiwork.
The final result was nothing short of stunning – two clocks that not only kept perfect time but also told a story of creativity and innovation. As we bid farewell to the artist, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the glimpse into their creative process. It was a reminder that art is often about experimentation, taking risks, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
And as we left the studio, we were treated to one final surprise – a pair of socks with a special message scrawled across them. "See you next time," they read, accompanied by a cartoon character that looked suspiciously like a glove. It was a cheeky gesture, but one that only added to our appreciation for this talented artist's unique brand of whimsy.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys we're Avenue Michaela today we're playing with alcohol in the shop no not like that no not like that actually we're gonna be doing alcohol watercolors on these tiles and turning them into clocks this video is brought to you by Squarespace from websites and online stores to marketing tools and analytics Squarespace is the all-in-one platform to build a and then to make the magic water coloring this happen you just add alcohol to it all right so instead of going straight to the expensive tile we're gonna do a few practice runs on this really really cheap tile so are we gonna acknowledge your beard in this video I didn't mean to do this how did I'm close and I just look you just need to shave the rest off let's let's go over the plan yeah we should we should decide what it is before we choose colors also you definitely shouldn't do brown green brown green and red nodes never been those red and green oh I told you we should battle to see who does it better okay let's try the way that everyone else does it which is method wine and alcohol yes ah that was kind of violent oh man alcoholics are just getting all over me it's crusty crusty this doesn't really go anywhere well here can I have it cannabic Oh guys look at this oh my gosh I'm already done I've made art it doesn't look great water coloring this is awesome whoa more alcohol yeah look at my colors just dry superfast which I guess is because it's alcohol yeah it's interesting it's like crustier than I imagined looks like a peachy dish yours is pretty cool the more I work at though the less I like it yeah interesting video vote in the comments who won this or how yours kind of looks like flowers in the field it's like a dirty dice I'll try the next house the alcohol just dried up too fast we're gonna start this one with alcohol first to give ourselves like a nice wet palette like quite liberally okay look at that definitely seems more right yeah okay I like this more I'm gonna tilt mine oh that's bad idea I'm Brown Oh No when you have too much on there and it's all just merging into one yeah I've done messed up oh no we're finding the ways of failing or eliminating I need a paper towel oh wait it's cracking yeah I kind of think you should have left that okay attempt to this is better we want to know what you guys think I think we know who won so what is this test let's do a sharpie test so you can just scribble on with sharpies and then put the alcohol on and it should work the same see if that's true like somewhat given up on this was gonna go for it's kinda hard to get rid of this scribble line Oh drop some really high up Oh soon so interesting that way this looks like a disease maybe the crusties will be good let's show the camera all right so sharpies it does dissolve ink but it just isn't as saturated and it isn't as good but who won he was less bad the straw is on the next one there's our last chance final test the alcohol first spread less ink don't use the heat gun here's a straw all right thank you and this this one's gonna blow oh that was a lot I didn't put the lid on I just dumped it oh whoa oh my gosh what the people do oh that's cool that's so cool I think I can say that these were maybe our best these were our best I feel I feel most happy about these you're slowly dripping use less ink use less air do you feel ready to do this no how do you feel after yesterday's attempts not at all ready but I have a strategy they're really excited to partner with Squarespace to bring you this video because websites are really important the Squarespace is a one-stop shop to create your own website whether you want to sell online share your portfolio communicate with your community we know a lot of you guys have side hustles where you want to make and solve things and you know what would really help with that a website that lets you manage all of your inventory and processes and orders Squarespace sounds awesome templates and if you ever hit any snags we have 24/7 support to help you out check it out over at squarespace.com for a free trial and when you're ready to launch it over to squarespace.com slash Evan and Caleb for 10% off your website or domain squarespace.com slash everything kaitlyn thanks guys bye we'll see a little bit the thing I didn't like about the last few attempts was all like the little bits that were left behind the crusty bit so I'm just gonna cover it up with a whole bunch of alcohol angel and that make it crustier the crustiness will combine and it will be okay so so what's your plan how many do alcohol inks in alcohol but this is all watered-down stuff so you're going extra heavy you're gonna go extra life all right ready all right you have read for me that's art at the same time so you're not doing alcohol first crows our degrees are crazy so much surface area Oh should we have cleaned us nope I'm just gonna go for like just something very abstract oh oh no I didn't like that Oh No a lot of ground to cover its kind of intimidating this just dries so fast yeah I'm bad I'm gonna put a block of wood in the Trina it will protect you from me I just got really excited because this is going well for me yeah it's just really stressful doing something this large you should just let me you're this 100 percent different from mine I'm going for this like light watercolor look and yours is like inky inky don't know what looks like a galaxy galaxy or like you're right I'm gonna try no work the word for me but not for you like combine one graph of yellow a lot of it are you gonna know when you're done I don't okay right now I'm done go a guy should just step away Oh you feel like you're on track no can you get drunk off of alcohol fumes I think that you might have like too much alcohol I want it very watered down not done that's not a dry eye just like tilt it all off a bad oh no no any more gold any more sex what is happening that purple spot oh that's cool oh that is cool I'm gonna again do some more gold let's let it dry and we can do another layer if you want all right guys let's give you a little tour here's Caitlyn's it's abstract she she can't stop messing with it we thought we were gonna stop so Caitlyn's is very subtle mine is is very much not it's quite intense it looks like an energy ball it looks like galaxies that are fighting and exploding Caitlyn decided that she needs to remove this cat hair I feel like it's random so I feel like I need to touch it again and then create more spots it's like a little cluster now's the time to decide if it is actually done or if I need to mess with it more right my finger prints roll is tomorrow ok we have to coat it with a layer of clear acrylic first something to seal off the previous layer of alcohol inks cuz if I just add more stuff to it it's gonna dissolve everything below so yeah that's it glaze it up I don't know what it'd be but I feel like we need some sort of like anti cat hair anti dust employment system that we can put over everything that we do here's the reason to do spots or or beard hair it could have been the beard okay perfectionism have at it because I can't leave this alone good so far so you do some dark spots it sounds exciting it's not regret please don't regret okay that's cool well we have that direction yeah looking pretty nice so what do you think so far I do like it it's hard because like it looks so much different when it dries everything you don't know I don't wanna stop you can always stop now I think we'll see you soon if Caitlin changes for my but now is the most stressful part because we have to cut holes in them yeah so our clock hit came in but in order to install this we need a hole in our arts so we're gonna be using this a diamond bit abrasive hole saws to cut through these because these are porcelain and they're really hard I've never used these before so I'm gonna practice on these even though these are ceramic it should give me a good idea of what to expect can you hold that camera with one hand because I need you to squirt water while I drill like there's no centering on this okay so we made a little drill guide let's keep it centered that work hey okay even though the porcelain is a little bit harder I should experiment on my own just in case I could break this you don't want to push too hard you can snap this we use the right tool for the job but still but still the next one yay Oh some nice okay so next we're going to steal these with some epoxy and I get to be claps I'm gonna do something special though I'm gonna mix in this holographic glitter into the epoxy so the whole thing look like a star scape I'm just separating out a little bit of this epoxy to combine it with the glitter now I'm gonna try to be very conscious of how much better I use because a little bit goes a long way well geez I'm already contaminated oh that's probably enough maybe too much you ready I'm ready oh you're just gonna like dual wield them huh kind of wants the pattern to be random for the stars oh wow I like it a lot it like bring some purpose to your chaos haha it really does look like a galaxy just like I planned we need the fire reveal my inner glove your glove that's been inside me the whole time alrighty so while the epoxy dries we are actually going to spray-paint our clock parts cuz I'm gonna sure if the black really goes it definitely won't show up on Evans so we are thinking about painting it gold we're taping them you want them to blow away oh no oh oh there's a plastic protective coating on it I got it I got it I wasn't super crazy about this gold anyway it looks kind of matte so we're gonna try liquid gilding we've used it in a bunch of projects I don't know why we didn't just do this initially we go into montage mode for this mode you're ticking it sounds like they're working oh my god they look so good they look so good you even set the time correctly I dipped at the time correctly thank you guys so much for the time you spent with us see you next time bye time see you next time Oh soon to win sockshey guys we're Avenue Michaela today we're playing with
