**A Love Letter to Scarlet: Why This Book is My Favorite in the Series**
I just want to say it first thing foremost - I like Scarlet better than Cinder, and I love Cinder but I love Scarlet far more. I've been hearing a lot lately that a lot of people love Scarlet way more than Cinder, which is good because sometimes the second book in the series can be a bit of a letdown or it just isn't as great as the first one, but not in this case. This series keeps getting better and better, and so far, this is my favorite book in the series. I'm excited to see where the next book takes us, and I think you should definitely read Scarlet if you haven't already.
**Scarlet: The Main Character**
This book is called Scarlet, and it's about Scarlet herself. I love Scarlet - I love her feistiness, her determination, and just everything about her. I didn't like some of the choices she made, but that's with every character - not everyone's going to make every choice that you want as a reader. But overall, I really love Scarlet. I loved learning more about her, wanting to know more about her, and seeing her adventure unfold. She's a great main character, and I think that's one of the reasons why this book is so successful.
**The Book's Plot**
So, pretty much this takes place right after Cinder left off, and it's told from Scarlet's point of view - mostly. Yes, you get Cinder's view, too, but I'd say that about 80% of the book is from Scarlet's perspective. You also get Kai's view, which is great, and Wolf's view, although I'm not entirely sure how much of his view we see (but that's okay - it doesn't matter!). What matters is that Scarlet gets us a lot of insight into her thoughts and feelings, which makes the book so engaging.
**New Characters: Captain Thorne**
One of my favorite things about this book is the introduction of new characters. One of those characters is Captain Thorne, who I absolutely love. He's sarcastic, funny, and has a great sense of humor, which is perfect for this kind of thrilling adventure book. I loved watching him develop and learn more about him throughout the story. Marissa Meyer does an amazing job of introducing new characters that fit perfectly into the puzzle.
**Cinder: The Original Protagonist**
But what's even better than Captain Thorne is seeing Cinder in this book, too. We get to see her struggles and her decisions, which was really interesting to me. I love how Marissa Meyer ties everything together - it feels so organic and natural. You can tell that she puts a lot of thought into the characters' interactions and relationships.
**Wolf: The Mysterious Love Interest**
And then there's Wolf... Oh wolf, you had me tricked! Wolf is such a complex character, and I love how Marissa Meyer writes him. He's got this whole "bad boy" vibe going on, but he's also so much more than that. I loved watching his interactions with Scarlet, seeing the way they connect, and just wanting to know more about them.
**The Series: A Phenomenal Experience**
Overall, I think Scarlet is an amazing book - and series. The pacing is incredible, and this book will keep you turning pages until the very end. It took me about 3 days to finish it (I don't always read quickly!), and I was just so engrossed in the story. This series is definitely one of my favorites, and if you haven't already, you should totally check it out.
**Conclusion**
That's pretty much all I have to say about Scarlet. If you're looking for a great adventure book with complex characters and a thrilling plot, then this series is for you. Trust me when I say that you won't be disappointed. Marissa Meyer has done an incredible job of creating this world, these characters, and this story - and I just can't wait to see what's next in the series.
