BlackBerry Classic Unboxing - A Familiar Face Returns

**Blackberry Classic Review: A Step Back to the Good Old Days**

The Blackberry Classic is a phone that has been making waves among enthusiasts and business users alike, particularly those who swear by the tactile experience of a physical keyboard. With its full physical keyboard, which Blackberry claims has "perfect clickiness," this device is a breath of fresh air in an era dominated by touchscreen interfaces.

**A Tour of the Device**

The Blackberry Classic boasts a full physical keyboard, which is a departure from the more compact and sleek designs that have become the norm. The keyboard itself feels great to type on, with a tactile feedback that's reminiscent of older Blackberry devices. If you've missed having a physical keyboard or are still using an older Blackberry device, this is a nice iteration that offers an upgrade.

On the side of the device, users will find the nano SIM and micro SD card slots, which can be accessed via a semi-ejector tool that comes in the box. The volume up and down buttons sit on the right-hand side, while the power button – which doubles as a volume mute button or play mute button – is located at the top of the device. A long press on this button will pull up Blackberry's assistant, a feature that promises to make life easier for users.

**The Buttons: A New Era for Blackberry**

One of the most significant changes in the Blackberry Classic is the introduction of new buttons, which are designed to provide a more intuitive and interactive experience. The home button, for example, takes you directly into the dialer when tapped, allowing users to make phone calls with ease. Hitting the Blackberry button gives you contextual menus, while the trackpad provides a way to navigate through menus and applications. Back buttons are also present, allowing users to go back and exit from apps or functions.

The new buttons have been designed to work seamlessly throughout the OS, providing an intuitive experience that's easy to learn and use. For example, long pressing the volume up button will give you access to the Blackberry assistant, which can answer questions, set reminders, and perform other tasks. This is a significant improvement over older Blackberry devices, where such features were not as readily available.

**Performance: A Closer Look**

In terms of performance, the Blackberry Classic is a capable device that rivals its competitors in terms of speed and responsiveness. The browser, in particular, has seen a significant upgrade, with claims of being three times faster than previous generations. This means that users can expect a smoother browsing experience, complete with features like live bookmarking and quick access to frequently visited sites.

Battery life is also an area where the Blackberry Classic excels, with users reporting up to 50% longer battery life compared to their previous devices. The screen size has also been increased, making it easier to read and use in various lighting conditions. One notable feature that's missing from this device is motion gestures on the keyboard, which were a highlight of the Blackberry Passport.

**Build Quality: A Premium Feel**

The build quality of the Blackberry Classic is another area where the device excels. The metal ring around the device gives it a premium feel and look, while the unibody design makes it feel solid and durable in the hand. However, the plastic back may not appeal to everyone, as it can be removed without proper authorization.

**Conclusion**

Overall, the Blackberry Classic is a phone that's designed for those who value a tactile experience and a reliable device for business or personal use. With its full physical keyboard, improved performance, and sleek design, this device offers a compelling alternative to other smartphones on the market. While the price point may be higher than some users are willing to pay, the device is certainly worth considering for those who swear by the Blackberry experience.

**Testing the Device**

To put the Blackberry Classic through its paces, we'll be putting it through a series of tests and reviews to see how it performs in real-world scenarios. From everyday use to heavy gaming, this device will undergo rigorous testing to determine whether it's worth your hard-earned cash.

sen key you've got your blackberry menu key which a lot of people are going to be happy about uh you've got a trackpad which can also be clicked which people are really clamoring for I think at least Blackberry purists uh so quick tour of device we've got that full physical keyboard uh which has as Blackberry saying perfect clickiness and just using it for a few minutes it certainly does uh the onscreen keyboard is great I think Blackberry has nailed these uh and it feels really good to type if you've missed a physical keyboard or maybe you're still using uh an older Blackberry device this mute button or play mute button if you're listening to music a long press it will actually pull up a blackberry's assistant and on the top button that's where your power button is going to live and 3.5mm headset Jack um so let me do a quick tour here of the buttons since the buttons are very new to Blackberry OS 10 so if you want to make a phone call just tap that it'll take you right into the dialer and go ahead and make a dial uh if you're in an application hitting the Blackberry button will give you contextual menus if there's one to uh to have there uh you've got your trackpad which is voice it's going to reply back to you uh performance- wise it's pretty close to what You' got uh in the competition so Cortana Siri uh and Google now maybe not as fast as those other options but it is improving and is getting better so as I mentioned the successor to the outgoing Bold 9900 which at this point is many years old uh so what the differences between the two uh first browser is a big one if you want to use a mod smart phone you probably want a browser that's going to be able to perform uh and the classic going give you a browser that is three times faster and my response to hearing that was really only three times uh this thing came out many moons ago but it is a fully capable browser that blackberry's got built in you're going to get way better battery life versus the Bold you can get 50% longer battery life uh the screen is 60% larger also as you can very clearly uh see here uh no more curve to the screen uh one of the features that I loved on a Blackberry Passport was actually motion gestures on the keyboard uh those are not here on the classic so bear that in mind uh build quality feels really nice and really premium I think modern Blackberry devices have felt really nice uh you've got that metal ring around it that unibody design uh feels very very uh high quality uh the back it's a it's a plastic back but it does have a bit of texture to it so it's easy to grip and grab but don't think you're going to be able to remove that battery cuz it is locked in there unless you want to avoid your warranty so non- removable back I'm going to use this guy I'm going to test it I'm going to put it through its paces and see how it performs I'm excited to try another BlackBerry device as I always am when they come out uh if you've been looking or clamoring for
