Everything is One Year Sink a Swim: A Personal and Professional Journey

As I sit here reflecting on my journey, I'm reminded that everything is interconnected. We're all just trying to figure things out and make sense of our place in this world. It's like we're sinking, but at the same time, we're learning to swim. Or rather, we're learning to adapt and navigate through life's challenges. For me, this journey began with a realization that I needed to take control of my finances. I started by assessing where my money was going and making conscious decisions about how I wanted to allocate it.

I've come to understand that having a clear plan and a solid foundation is essential for achieving my goals. This means not just having the right mindset, but also being intentional with how I spend my resources. In this sense, the concept of "everything is one year sink a swim" becomes a mantra for me - everything is interconnected, and every decision has a ripple effect on our lives. By acknowledging this, I can focus on making choices that align with my values and goals.

One of the key areas where I've had to adapt and learn is in terms of finances. With the help of IndieGoGo, I was able to raise $7,000 for my project - but it's essential to note that IndieGoGo takes a percentage of the funds raised. Additionally, there are other expenses associated with running a platform, such as buying perks for backers and contributors. These costs can be significant, and it's crucial to have a clear understanding of where our money is going.

As I look back on this journey so far, I'm reminded that it's not just about the money - it's also about offering value to others. Now, I'd like to address some "elephants in the room." One of these is Angela, a flood bill from Texas that I've been struggling to resolve. With no time to devote to it, I'm currently unable to provide updates or make progress on this issue. I want to assure my backers and contributors that I'm doing everything I can to address this situation as soon as possible.

Another challenge I'm facing is my lack of time for social media management. My Instagram account has been blowing up with messages from people asking for help, ranging from fixing their cars to building them new ones. While I want to be more available and responsive, I need to prioritize my time and focus on the projects that will have the most significant impact.

I'd also like to give a shoutout to my friend Lee, who has been working hard as a full-time mechanic. His dedication is truly inspiring, and I'm grateful for his support and guidance throughout this journey. Unfortunately, I've been taking up too much of his time with non-project-related tasks, which can be frustrating for both of us.

As I move forward, my goal is to create more engaging content that showcases the projects I have in the works. One of these projects involves filming every car that comes into the shop, showcasing how they're restored and what makes them unique. This will not only provide valuable insights into the process but also give my audience a better sense of what's happening behind the scenes.

can hear curse words and use his judgment to know whether or not to say them but I doubt it because no one raises their kids like that anymore they would rather someone else do it and then complain about it alright let's get started I lost my damn laptop bag yes all my footage I is gone I don't know where it is can't find my laptop that's the first out all right and that's why you're looking at footage of me fixing a hot water heater because it the content it's I know what you guys want you want more builds more crazy Tesla antics more shenanigans but I told you guys already I need to open my own space to do my creative work so I can't really set lease shop on fire again remember the dayz video right I can't I can't keep doing that opening a shop will allow that it's getting cold outside and most of the work has been done indoors and I don't have a space so I'm literally working 40 hours at a regular job take money from YouTube running the IndieGoGo running sponsored ads to try to make things work so bear with me I know you want more dedicated builds but I don't think there's a build channel of this size that doesn't have dedicated space to build things or at least doing it full-time so this is this is a big struggle for me this is like to ramp up until I get the funding to make all that stuff happen so if the consistency isn't enough or it's too fragmented that's okay to unsubscribe I won't take it personally I won't be offended but uh let's go to the chase here the juiciest fattest ell after literally years of whining complaining ranting raving jumping up and down and screaming come by with a three million plus view video from vice Tesla finally said hey you know what um maybe we should work on savage cars yes people you heard that right they will work on savage cars now you are welcome thank you uncle rich alright a buddy of mine sent me an internal memo about what they're willing and not willing to do they'll make keys and they'll work on them and I'll be damned that they haven't publicized this yet they probably don't want everyone the mothers knowing this for two reasons one they can't handle fixing their existing fleet of cars never mind adding salvage cars in the mix and number two they don't want to admit that they changed their way because of rich rebuilds okay they didn't want to admit that a black man haha yeah you see you see what I did you thought I chose them to a race thing huh but I stopped I got you angry for a minute I'm just kidding no but little did I know I was dig my own grave because now that Tesla is willing to at least entertain the idea of working on rebuild cars which is you know actually they probably won't but what's the point of this channel that you know now they're willing to fix it there's really no 10 bucks but he wanted a full business plan as to when his ten dollars was gonna be spent how was going where we're gonna go and I'm like you know you're literally giving me ten dollars in exchange for condoms with my face on them you want a business plan but but again we aren't asking for anyone to have a percentage of the company or any return investment we're simply saying hey I'm opening up a shop if you want to throw us a few bucks in exchange for some perks or just throw us a couple bucks in general that's cool man I know that you may or may not have the means that's okay to know we're not forcing anyone to do anything you know it's it's almost like you see a homeless person right and he's asking for spare change he may or may not have a reason on a piece of cardboard in front of you it might say hey I'm homeless with three kids or I need money for karate you know and you look at that and you look at your cup holder and you can determine how much you're gonna give him right but are you gonna say yeah hey before I give you the 75 cents pull out my ashtray how are you gonna spend this Oh that question we need the basics to open a shop we need to lease a space which is gonna cost us about three three grand a month a little over three grand a month we in the linemen track which is about $30,000 we need lifts we need money from making a waiting area for people and we need the money to pay a person to work there full-time so everything is one year sink a swim you know we also need tools I have a bunch of parts to sell to service cars but we'll have to purchase another salvage car to get parts off of to get everything started so that's kind of like a basic overview of the money that we need and number one we're going to film every gonna literally see how the money's spent number two we raised seven grand so far but not really because IndieGoGo takes a percentage but we also have to buy the perks don't forget that as well you gotta buy the perks for this whole thing the next thing is that's the reason why we did a platform that had perks said we didn't straight-up just ask for money so people would fit they're getting something in return I don't want video and they're mad as hell but that's kind of I want to talk about I think the main point is the projects I can't consistently put out a project lated video every week because well I can't work on them every week so I have to do non project related videos the goal of the shop is to have Angela in the new shop and I could have other cars in there as well almost like a guess what's in the shop
