This Smartphone Is All You Need

**Affordable Smartphones: A Comparison**

As someone who's passionate about affordable smartphones, I was thrilled when my friends at MetroPCS approached me to sponsor a video featuring cheap smartphones. The first thing that came to mind was the power of being able to get a smartphone for a fraction of the price of a flagship device.

In this article, we'll be comparing three affordable smartphones: the Samsung Galaxy On5, the LG K10, and the HTC Desire 530. These phones offer similar specs, including quad-core processors and one-and-a-half gigabytes of RAM. However, there are some notable differences between them.

**The Samsung Galaxy On5**

Starting with the Samsung Galaxy On5, which costs just $60, we found that it's a decent phone for its price. The removable back allows you to access the MicroSD card slot and SIM card, making it easy to swap out the battery if needed. The phone also comes with unlimited talk, text, and one gigabyte of uncapped data on MetroPCS' network.

The Samsung Galaxy On5 has an 8-megapixel camera, which performed reasonably well in good lighting conditions. However, it struggled with capturing detail in low-light environments.

**The LG K10**

Next up is the LG K10, which costs $80. This phone offers a slightly larger 5.3-inch 720p display and has a textured finish on its back, giving it a unique look. The removable back allows you to access the battery, MicroSD card slot, and SIM card.

The LG K10's camera performed similarly to the Samsung Galaxy On5, with good results in well-lit conditions but struggling in low-light environments.

**The HTC Desire 530**

Last but not least is the HTC Desire 530, which also costs $80. This phone has a unique design, with colorful buttons on its side and a white back with a speckled finish. It also comes with a front-firing speaker that actually sounds better than most other phones.

The HTC Desire 530's camera performed well in good lighting conditions and handled video recording decently. However, it struggled with capturing detail in low-light environments.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, all three smartphones offer similar specs and performance. The Samsung Galaxy On5 is the cheapest option at $60, while the LG K10 and HTC Desire 530 cost $80 each. While none of these phones are perfect, they're definitely worth considering if you're looking for an affordable smartphone.

If you switch to MetroPCS, you can even get two free Samsung Galaxy On5 smartphones running on the T-Mobile network. So, which phone would you go for? Let us know in the comments below!

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- Ken is judging me so hardright now, for the record.Hey guys, this is Austin. And you are probably payingtoo much for your phone. So when my friends overat MetroPCS reached outand wanted to sponsor a video, the first thing I thought ofwere cheap smartphones. So if you guys been watchingthe channel for a while, you know I love these things. It's such a powerfulthing to be able to geta smartphone for a tenth of the priceof a full flagship, andit's almost as good.So I paid over $800 for my iPhone 7 Plus, now don't get me wrong, this is a great phone. However, when you considerthat the Galaxy On5 only costs $60,it is really hard tojustify that price premium. So, let's see what youactually get in the boxof a $60 phone. I need a knife (laughing).(plastic pulling)(exhaling) Oh, that wasa weak, that was weak.It starts down low, right? And just like (exhaling).Don't judge me.Something else that you don't findon a lot of phones thesedays, is a removable back. So, not only can you get at the MicroSDas well as the SIM slot, but,if you wanna swap out abattery, it's super easy to do.And we also have the SIM card.So that's actually one of the nice thingsabout MetroPCS, not onlyare there no contracts, but for $30 a month, you're getting unlimitedtalk, text, and onegigabyte of uncapped data. And the cool thing is, you get that, regardless of what smartphone you're usingwhether it's the On5, or the iPhone 7.I like the feel of this. It's a nice light phone, but more importantly, it's the right size.I feel like so many smartphones these daysare just too big. This actually feels good in the hands. And if you want to raiseyour budget to a whopping $80,you can pick up the LGK10, or the HTC Desire 530.So one of the advantages of the K10is it's rocking a slightlylarger 5.3 inch 720p display. And just like the Samsung,we can take off the back of the K10to get access to thebattery, MicroSD, SIM,the whole deal.I've gotta say, the lookof the K10 is interesting. So it's got this sort oftextured finish on the back.I can't say I've ever seena phone that looks like it.Now we have the Desire 530.So this is actually a phoneI'm really curious to try.I have not actually--oh, this is such a cool looking phone, see you've got the sort ofcolorful buttons on the side, and you have, it's a white back, but it has a sort of speckled finish,it looks like someone just like, spilled a little bit of paint on it.That's fun, that's just areally cool, unique look. You also have the blue bezels herewith the front firing speaker.I'm way more impressed withthis than I thought I was.Especially considering it's $80.Like, man.It comes with a lanyard?Drop everything, stop thevideo, stop the music. It's lanyard time.So I hereby nominate thisthe coolest phone of 2016.Dropped the phone, no I didn't.Dropped the phone, no I didn't.Okay, I could get a little less clumsy, but, no big deal.To be fair, is just has thelittle loop on the bottomso you can take the lanyardoff if you don't want it,but I mean, this is kindof the package right here.So with all three of these phones, you're getting very similar specs. So there are quad coreprocessors across the board, one and a half gigabytes of RAM,the biggest difference really,is the fact that the LG and the HTChave 16 gigabytes of memoryand the Samsung has eight. However, since all threehave a MicroSD card slot,it's really not that big of a deal. All three phones havesurprisingly decent screenshowever one thing I didnotice with the Desire,is it seems like it's alittle bit over sharpened. So, especially when you look at black texton a white background, it just lookslike it's got a littlebit of a halo around it.Not a deal breaker, butit's definitely noticeablecompared to the other two.The Desire does do a goodjob with video though. So, even though it looks like it hasdual front firing speakers, only this one is an actual speaker, however, because it's pointing at you,it actually sounds a lotbetter than most other phones. So even though the K10feels a little bit plasticyas you (knocking) might be able to tell,it has the fundamentals down. The screen is great, performance is solid, especially with the fairly light LG UI,and the cool thing is, ithas some extra featuressuch as having NFC support.Of course, being smartphones, the cameras are incredibly importantso we'll see how they match up.So this is about as goodas light is gonna get. And, at least the HTC handles it well. There's a surprising amount of detail, even all the way over in the mountains. So with eight megapixels to work with,it actually does a solid job,as long as you have light.Of course, I have to makesure I have the lanyard onat all times, because safety. Not bad, it's a little soft, but that's totally usable. So the K10 actually looks really nice.So even though this is avery brightly lit shot,it completely holds the detail no problem.Ken, looking A1.Quality on the LG looksto be fairly similar. We're getting a little bit of softness, but it handles it well. You know, something I realized, the more I spend time with the LG,it's snappier than the other two, everything just seems tohappen really quickly. The other two, they're not slow, but you can definitely noticea little bit of lag sometimes. Now with the Samsung,we're actually workingwith a lower resolution, five megapixel camera, and if this anything to go by,it's not quite as nice, definitely not as fast to take a shot. With good lighting, youcan get decent results, however, especially whenyou look at the details,it just can't compare to the other two.Now you can get an okay shot with the On5,however in this comparison it's just outgunned. There are legit reasons topick up any of these phones. The Samsung is the cheapest, the LG, while it's a littlebit on the boring side, absolutely nails the fundamentals, however if it's my money,I'm picking up the HTC.You're getting a phone with unique design, solid performance, a good camera, and most importantly, it's $80,it's hard to argue with that. You know what's even harder to argue with?Free phones. So, if you switch to MetroPCS,you can actually get two freeSamsung Galaxy On5 smartphonesrunning on the T-Mobile network. So which phone would you guys go for?Definitely be sure to let meknow in the comments below, and I will catch you on the next one.(laughing)
