Wago Comes Out Of Hibernation and Razzle Dazzle Blew All The Way Up

The Crankshaft Conundrum: A Prelude's Troubles Continue

As we sit here in our Colorado workshop, surrounded by the familiar sounds of machinery and the faint scent of motor oil, our mind turns to the latest development in the ongoing saga of our beloved prelude. It seems that while driving around California recently, disaster struck. The flywheel, a component essential for powering the vehicle's engine, became loose and began to wobble ominously. This wobbling led to the scoring up of the end of the crankshaft, a critical part of the engine's internal workings.

The extent of the damage was soon revealed, as our mechanic expertly examined the affected areas. The flywheel, it turns out, had become detached from its mounting system and was now free to spin about, causing irreparable harm to the surrounding components. The crankshaft, meanwhile, was left scarred and weakened by the scoring incident.

With the prelude's engine no longer in working order, we are forced to confront the harsh reality that this part of our project may be beyond repair. Replacing the flywheel and, indeed, the entire crankshaft is now a must if we hope to restore our vehicle to its former glory. The added stress of finding suitable replacement parts has only exacerbated our frustration, as we struggle to come to terms with the magnitude of the task ahead.

The Flywheel: A Critical Component

For those unfamiliar with the intricacies of automotive engineering, let us take a moment to explain the significance of the flywheel in this context. The flywheel is a critical component that plays a vital role in the functioning of the vehicle's engine. Its primary function is to store energy during periods of deceleration or coasting, allowing the engine to continue running smoothly and efficiently.

In our prelude project, the flywheel has proven itself to be particularly problematic. Despite its seemingly straightforward design, it has managed to become loose, scoring up the surface of both the flywheel and the crankshaft in the process. This incident highlights the importance of regular maintenance and inspection when working with complex mechanical systems.

The Importance of Quality Clutches

As we ponder the fate of our prelude's engine, another pressing concern comes to mind: the clutch. A crucial component responsible for transferring power from the engine to the transmission, a poor-quality clutch can quickly lead to costly repairs down the line. In this instance, we are faced with an old and worn-out clutch that has seen better days.

Our plan is to replace the existing clutch with a brand-new one, ensuring that our prelude will be equipped with the best possible components for optimal performance. This upgrade not only enhances the overall driving experience but also provides peace of mind knowing that our vehicle's engine is protected from potential wear and tear.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enall right guys we are back in colorado we just got the outer seat unloaded we're over here at the shop you guys saw unfortunately the razzle dazzle blew up put a hole in the block but when it did blow up it still did run and i had to shut it off it sounded like crap but it ran and uh we're gonna see if this thing will fire up on five cylinders with a rod hanging out the block and see if it can back off the trailer under its own power it's probably not a good idea but you know this motor is junk anyways and it'd be kind of interesting to hear how it sounds so uh i guess we'll see let's be real i'm just too lazy to push it off so i talked him into this thinks he's gonna run shane and the window doesn't look too big i think it'll hang i think she'll be all right yeah we're gonna try it we're gonna send it either way i'm sorry dazzle come on baby might not run dude it will run it's just cold oh watch your front tire honestly sounds great why are we even going to mess with it it sounds perfect we got the we got the goat cam in there oh there she goes that actually ran for a while great dude poor girl that was hard to watch honestly guys i feel bad there's oil all over the ground all right let's try a fireball you it ran for like a solid minute though this thing just fell long enough to hold it all stuck god look at all that oil bro poor razzle dazzle man i think it made the hole bigger oh it's definitely bigger is the hole bigger yep can confirm hole was enlarged oh yeah dude there's like two holes now there's another one right there behind the header i'm gonna fire it back up bit i'm not gonna stand right here oh dude there is two holes dude that hold on don't fire it yet dude it's hard to see on camera that back hole is huge poor thing you ready yes i don't think are you just pulling it in oh no oh it sounded like a rotary it sounded like the vargas brothers were here for a second lifts on them yeah i think it's ready to go on the dyno retuner i'm down yeah so much power i'm surprised it's still running i think it has we two stepped it like this i did i told him let's two step but he shook my head no get back in there wyatt that's two step no wait one when when brent gets here i'm down yeah dude there's two holes in the block now look at all the extra metal look at all the extra metal down there i mean what's one two step gonna do i just wanna say the whole motor is trash anyhow i might as well finish it off with a final hurrah we'll get brent's thought on this once you're out of oil though it's not going to fire back up guys we can put more oil in it scoop it up off the ground yep recycling hey i mean it's for how much is splattering everywhere we still got great oil pressure guys you got to hear it no dude i think i think it took i think there's two rods done now there's two big holes in the block oh my god that's terrible he didn't see us pull it in oh you pulled it in we drove it off the trailer the back hole got a little work look at all the chunks i i get all the chunks right sounds sounds great oh that's it nope she done she done she was done already you'll see the video i made it in oh yeah she's locked poor razzle dazzle that's right i think that's all she wrote get that motor out get another one in it we'll be back in business we'll build it this time though yeah look at all those gooses hey guys i'm back over at the colorado house and i do want to ask you guys something i'm sure a lot of you have noticed that we've actually been using the dslr in the last couple videos you know we got the zoomy zoom going on uh when we were in glamis uh our g7x got completely filled with sand it's pretty much done camera won't even turn on anymore and then the gopros got completely caked with sand a couple of them have some cracked screens on them from just everything being flung up but we've been using the dslr uh pretty much the whole time we were out in cali and i was wondering if you guys like the style of videos that uh this thing puts out because while editing i have been really enjoying this kind of style so i thought about doing it more full time wanted to get your guys's input on that this thing is kind of a pain to carry around and stuff and i know a lot of vloggers use dslrs i usually use this thing just for like the cinematic shots and the edits and stuff like that but i know the gopro can also feel a little more raw and authentic so that's why i just wanted to ask but right now this is what we are rolling with i'm actually over here because i'm getting ready to fire the old wagon up go to waggo i just got a new battery put in this thing and let's see if he wants to fire up for us it has been a minute so this is going to be a cold start on e85 i'm sure we are neutral let's go oh what what the heck that was not neutral i could have swore we were in neutral right there but the whole car just lunged forward let's try that again on waggo it is cold in here oh come on come on girl come on you got it you got it you got it there she is so definitely missed waggle while we were gone but figured i'd fire this thing up take her for a drive today i didn't get to drive the car at all before we left to california so while we're here in colorado for a bit i want to take this thing drive it around i've missed this thing so much we might just have to bring it back with us when we go to florida i don't know yet but i freaking love this car we still need to fix the fender on this side over here because uh that guy's still missing i think the last video i did with this thing i fixed the control arm and stuff like that because if you guys do or don't remember i kind of wrecked this thing into a curve and it messed some stuff up but it's been still running good it's just been sitting so let's let her stretch her legs a little bit today while i'm over at the shop i figured i would give you guys an update on the prelude it is up on the lift right now and you guys have not seen this thing in quite some time for those of you that may not know about this car because it has been several months since the last video on this thing this is our 1000 horsepower prelude it is currently the second fastest one in the world it has a built aluminum rod h22 motor and uh she gets down pretty good we did a 96 at 161 i believe is our best et so far the record sitting at a 933 which i don't think anyone is going to go for soon so i would like to get this car up and going again to go after the prelude record that would be awesome but in the last video uh we brought it to the track and i made one pass we felt a vibration and it kind of seemed like the clutch or something was coming loose or the flywheel so we didn't want to make any other passes we ended up loading the car up and heading back the car sat forever and while we were gone in florida we uh had todd over here get this thing up on the lift and pull the transmission for us and take a look at what happened and it's a little little worse than we thought so grab a light real quick and show you guys what we got going on under here so if you look up under here that is the end of our crankshaft right there and it is completely beat up so yeah that crank is no good we're gonna have to replace that uh the flywheel did end up coming loose and it wobbled quite a bit and then kind of scored up the end of the crankshaft there and then it also scored up the surface on the flywheel so we're gonna have to get a new flywheel made as well and while we're at it i'm probably just gonna throw a whole brand new clutch into the prelude because the one that was in there was pretty old and beat up it did have a twin disc but i do want to get the prelude back up and going i know people have asked about it before in the comments it's been kind of been put on the back burner just because we've been busy with so many of the other projects and it has sat over here in colorado but we will return to the prelude at some point i just don't know when that is just yet well we really don't have too much else going on at the shop right now we're gonna be hanging out for the next few days we just got back from california which was a super long trip we have been driving like crazy and it is the holiday so we're just gonna kind of chill for a little bit while we are here in colorado with our friends and family and stuff like that uh but we will be heading back to florida here pretty soon i think we're gonna be here for about another week but i figured now would be a good time just to let you guys know how much we appreciate each and every one of you 2020 is almost over and i know it has been a horrible year for many people and so many just awful things have happened this year it's been a roller coaster of all kinds of stuff going on and we've just done our best to keep our head up and keep doing what we do and i'm just really hoping all this cobit stuff can come to an end i know you guys are probably thinking the same it has been just a wild year for sure but despite all of the craziness going on i'm still pretty proud of some of the accomplishments we have made over this last year and like i said i want to just thank every one of you guys for watching the channel without you guys we would be able to do what we're doing we are at right about 945 000 subscribers right now which is just insane i was you know hoping we could have hit a million by the end of this year but i knew realistically it probably wouldn't happen and with how bad 2020 has kind of been for most people i feel like i didn't want that accomplishment to even happen this year so we're hoping early 2021 we will be at a million subscribers so if you guys aren't subscribed already be sure to do that i didn't want to shove it down your guys's throats and be like oh go tell your friends to subscribe do all that because i probably could have pushed it and made that a million but i wanted it to be real genuine subscribers i don't like to push it if you guys like the content then you subscribe and that's how youtube i think should be just wanted to take a second and let you guys know how much we appreciate all of you really means a lot we have a lot of goals and plans for 2021 hopefully it will be a year to look forward to and we're going to do our best to accomplish our goals and as long as you guys are along for the ride we will keep pumping out the content and yeah i don't know what else to say so thank you guys should we see if he revs back able to give him a little rev see if he's wack ran into a corvette at the taco bell drive through in waggo he ain't trying to take that l i mean why goes only on 300 horse right now we'd probably get smoked but uh i'm down dude come on do it back this is why we always need to bring the laptop in case we need to give her a couple we just need to hook the moon tune to a switch in every car anyway you just flip the switch it'll up the boost go to a different map i think you should just always be on the moon tune yeah just always be on kill i like that idea we just need to always be on kill in case we have opportunities like this show up i don't like that you didn't rev back though it ain't ribbon back so i don't think he's about it this dude's probably like these kids are so annoying so i'm just trying to get my damn taco bell man oh yeah all right screw the drive through let's go chase them youall right guys we are back in colorado we just got the outer seat unloaded we're over here at the shop you guys saw unfortunately the razzle dazzle blew up put a hole in the block but when it did blow up it still did run and i had to shut it off it sounded like crap but it ran and uh we're gonna see if this thing will fire up on
