Unbelievably Useful iPhone Video Accessories

**The Art of iPhone Videography: Tips and Tricks**

In today's world of smartphone videography, having the right gear can make all the difference between producing high-quality videos and mediocre ones. As someone who has invested heavily in their iPhone videography setup, I'm excited to share my knowledge with you on how to take your mobile filmmaking skills to the next level.

When it comes to stabilizing footage, I swear by my Osmo Mobile or Movi stabilizer. These devices offer unparalleled smoothness and control, allowing me to capture ultra-steady shots that would be impossible to achieve without them. Whether I'm using an iPhone or a bigger camera, these stabilizers have become an essential part of my workflow. While they may come with a higher price tag than other options, the difference in quality is well worth it.

For those on a tighter budget, fluid video heads for tripods can also provide silky-smooth panning shots. It's a more affordable option, but still offers impressive results. I should mention that there are plenty of resources available to help you achieve smooth shots without breaking the bank – just be sure to check out the links in the description below.

Lens Quality: The Key to Unlocking Your iPhone's Potential

Lenses can revolutionize your iPhone's capabilities and open up new creative possibilities. For my GH5, I use a variety of lenses to capture different shots depending on what I'm after. My favorite lens is undoubtedly the 42.5mm, which has become an extension of my arm. Art lenses like the macro lens are also incredible, offering unparalleled depth and detail. And then there's the legendary moment anamorphic – the look this lens gives your footage is simply stunning.

If you're planning to invest in a cinema robot with lenses like these, don't forget to balance it out with some counterweights. They may be a bit of a pain to use, but trust me, they make all the difference. Now, if you're looking for a more affordable way to upgrade your iPhone's video capabilities, consider investing in a tripod adapter. I've found that these adapters can make all the difference between shaky footage and smooth, steady shots.

Audio Quality: The Final Piece of the Puzzle

When it comes to capturing high-quality audio, there's no substitute for a good external mic. My go-to mic is the Rode Videomicro, which requires an adapter to use but offers results that are simply night and day compared to using the iPhone's internal mic.

**Additional Tips and Gear**

One of my favorite accessories for filming with my iPhone is the Verse video grip. This comes equipped with everything I need to shoot high-quality video, including a grip, phone mount, mini tripod, and even a mic. While it may seem like overkill, this accessory has become an essential part of my setup. Plus, its compact design makes it perfect for on-the-go filming.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out with iPhone videography, I encourage you to explore the world of mobile filmmaking. With the right gear and knowledge, you can create stunning content that rivals even the most expensive cameras.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enHeys Chris you know a lot of people don't realize that I shoot a lot of content for this channel on iPhones the one video where I did point out I got some comments saying that the shots looked better than my normal camera but here's the thing you can shoot amazing video on your iPhone whoever you are and if you're not super into video then you can just consider this video like a behind-the-scenes look at some of the gear that I use when I shoot on iPhones I'm mostly gonna be talking about some video accessories that you want to pick up if you want to start flexing your video skills but the first thing you want to do is pick up a great video app like filmic Pro that's the one I prefer there's mathis Pro or there's also the moment app which is getting better and better to my all-time favorite video accessory for the iPhone is the freefly movi which is described as a cinema robot by the company that makes it which sounds really cool but it's really just a gimbal or a stabilizer that makes your footage look ridiculously and I mean ridiculously smooth so I use this extensively for the iPhone 10 our review that I shot a while back using nothing but an iPhone and I got lots of questions from people saying what was that and how does it work well without going too in-depth because I know this isn't a video focus Channel it's got several different modes which help to set it apart from other stabilizers but what I really love the most is its form factor it's just the best I mean you can set it down without a tripod and you can use two hands for extra control and it just looks cooler - I also have the DJI Osmo mobile - and I really don't have anything against it but to me it's like a night and day difference using the movi and the Osmo mobile - like it's just that much better I know there's a price difference - but it's worth saving up and getting that movie something else that I use a lot to get ultra smooth shots whether I'm using an iPhone or a bigger camera is a slider like the slider one from edelkrone this thing is motorized and it's app controlled and above all it's super portable I can literally stash it in my back bag and just take it with me wherever on the other hand if you're just looking for a smooth shot you could always just use a fluid video head for your tripod and get some ultra slick pans I should have mentioned this already but I'll be sure to link all this gear up down in the description so you can check it out and I'll also link up some good accessory that are related to this on my sliced Apple comm lenses are a big deal for any video production for my GH 5 I use a variety of lenses to get different shots depending on what it is that I'm after I have my favorite zoom lens I use a macro lens extensively I've got some art lenses that can practically see in the dark and produce some nice blurry backgrounds and then there's my favorite gh 5 lens of all time that knocked a crown 42 and a half well it's no different if you also want to upgrade your iPhones videography game as well lenses can really change what you're capable of capturing I'm pretty heavily invested into the moment lens ecosystem right now so I've got the wide angle which really lets you capture a lot more I've got the telephoto for getting a bit closer I've got the macro which honestly I don't use all that much but it's still super dope and the beast the legendary moment anamorphic the look this anamorphic lens gives your footage is just amazing the lens flares at night those are incredible the ultra wide-angle is also incredible it's not a lens for every situation but if you can figure out how to put it to good use then you're gonna be able to get some really cool shots now if you're using a cinema robot with lenses like this then you can also want to grab some counter ways to balance things out which can be a little bit of a pain to use but it's certainly worth figuring out one of the simplest and cheapest things that you can do to upgrade your iPhone a video is to get a tripod adapter so you can use something like the pixie or a gorilla pod or just a regular tripod if you want to like just to get rid of that handshake just to have a smooth steady shot that's super underrated something that would definitely help you out I like shoulder pods and Retta cams tripod adapters pretty well the glyph used to be my absolute favorite because it has a quarter inch adapter right on top and on the bottom but the handle broke so unfortunately I feel like I can't recommend that one of the best upgrades you can make is to increase the quality of your audio which is as simple as using a better mic to capture sound the mic I prefer when I'm building an iPhone video rig is the rode videomicro which you will need an adapter to use but that's alright I'll link it up down in the description for you the difference between using a devices internal mic and using an external mic is night and day an absolutely massive difference the final thing that I want to mention today is a video grip from podcaster called the verse this comes with basically everything that you need to shoot video including a grip a phone mount a mini tripod and even a mic you can also configure this with just the phone mount and the tripod together with the mic on top to go super light and maybe do some vlogging or something to be super honest I've contemplated several times you're switching over completely to filming with nothing but iPhones and these kinds of accessories because honestly you can make amazing content with this kind of stuff I mean apples proved that if you go look at the YouTube channel of course they got professionals running things but look at the quality of some of those videos there's Hollywood producers out there making stuff with just iPhones in these kinds of accessories it's pretty crazy so probably something in the future I don't know I could see myself doing that I haven't been able to quite make the switch right now but I'm thinking about it so that's it for this video thank you so much for watching all the way to the end I see exactly how many people make it to this point so to you I just want to say thanks thanks for watching leave me a comment down below let me know what questions you have let me know what your favorite piece of gear is let me
