I was standing there, you know, kind of not impatiently but I always just forgot how much of a hassle it is to get rental stuff after you've had your own board and so the entire day we're struggling because you know Steve's re-learning how to snowboard and I'm trying not to go too fast and all that sort of stuff. But that is not where the story shines, ladies and gentlemen, the story shines where it started actually snowing but we don't get it that much so it was like oh crap we're getting a lot of snow and we took the Mustang, we took the Mustang to the ski resort, was that such a good idea? So then after a whole day of snowboarding for about eight hours, it was a while, we ended up running into some friends from my school too, which was kind of interesting. So we all started snowboarding together and I started doing the terrain park and the rails and all that fun stuff.
So we go all right let's get something to eat and we'll set sail back home. Well, there were two problems; one, already said we took the Mustang; second, we made it there on one tank but it was pushing it. We thought you know, we'll just fill up after we finish snowboarding whatever there's not too many gas stations too far away so basically our tank was low. Now going back to what I said earlier, it snowed very very hard and so me and Steve are going is it gonna be hard to get down the hi down the mountain like how to get home? You know, I just kind of imagined my brain, it's gonna be okay, it's gonna be all right. We get in the car and as soon as we get in the car we start spinning like this, just hydroplaning and uh just sliding all over the place and Steve's face is just like this is gonna be terrifying.
Steve's from Michigan so driving in the snow for him, it's it's gravy, it's like he can do it in his sleep but here's the problem I had never driven the Mustang in the snow, and he didn't know that so we're starting to descend down the mountain and you know we're sliding and it's you know very scary cliffs whatnot and Steve's face is like this, you know he's kind of backseat driving the whole time going do this do that do this do that. And I go Steve; he goes yeah they say I need to tell you something, and he goes what I go I've never driven in the snow before and he looks at me with these scared-ass eyes and goes you're telling me this now as we go down a very steep mountain.
We could fall to our deaths and you decided not to tell me that you'd never driven in the snow before so after very carefully going down the mountain, we made it to the bottom, and I had 15 miles left on my gas tank without a gas station in sight. So basically we thought we were screwed, we thought we were gonna have to call for help, all this stuff. Then finally, we see an Exxon in the distance; I swear it had like a halo above it like an angel it was like oh my god, I've never been so excited to spend money we pull in we go please let the pumps be on and they were. The gas was stupid expensive because you know it's the middle of nowhere and the demand is high but we had to just do it and we filled up.
Then we started our drive home, and it wasn't that bad; we ended up just staying the night at Richmond so about halfway drive back just to take a deep breather from what we went through. Lesson learned if you ever have the feeling that you're gonna run out of gas even if it's 50 miles, 60 miles, fill up early don't hesitate now. I know I didn't talk about anything wonderful today in this vlog but one of the most common questions I get is what's a Mustang like in snow; well right now I can't demonstrate and I don't plan on it but it's pretty rough if you have street tires on it.
I'm turning, gotta do this like 16-point turn hope nobody's coming and back to the back road but here in Virginia, the roads are nice and dry and there's snow all over my windshield and on that lovely note I hope you guys take it easy driving on the back road. Going to get my wah wah cuz it's gonna be delicious; it's gonna be so delicious and thank god I don't have to drive in the snow today because that would suck, suck going around this S turn no man, don't you wish you could just like be like invincible and just be a fast furious character and drift every corner you could right. You break even though it doesn't work every time okay; I'm done
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso uh there's a little bit of snow wait we got this wall of snow like a boss good old car what is up guys david here for a short little vlog and uh i woke up to a little bit of surprise there was randomly a bunch of snow it's like this uh powdery stuff i never see it i don't think i've ever seen it before but whatever it is it's all over my car and it it's going all over my windshield snow where i live as i have mentioned before is a very rare occasion where i live but this doesn't really count because the roads are dry you want to know why virginia's weather is so bipolar that yesterday i was driving with my windows down 60 degrees outside you know and that's the kind of weather i want to live with not even remotely closely to snow especially for a car like this you do not want to drive this in the snow that was kind of funny sounding i'm such a stickler when it comes to wipers but there's like one little streak in it i'm like yup time for new ones big truck as for you guys who live up in the north and have a car like a sports car like rear wheel drive and not snow tires i don't know how y'all do it i i just don't get it because i'm going to tell a story and it's a snowboarding story but it's not the one i told last time about how i accidentally ran into a mentally challenged skier i'm not joking so last year as always i was the only one that wanted to go snowboarding except one fellow the guy named steve wilkinson you might remember him from blood sweat and gears my senior project video that i did back last april so steve goes i haven't gone snowboard in a really long time it's probably been like eight years but i really want to go so i'm like all right why not let's go so he doesn't have snow pants or anything so we go to walmart and all these places to try and find them of course you don't find any we just needed something on the spot which we didn't have i took a wrong turn i'm distracted from my story hold on gotta do a u-turn because this is a dead end and you don't want to drive your car into a dead end because that is bad because your end will be dead that was lame let's move on so anyway we decided to go to the ski resort and just find them stuff there so this is coming from virginia beach so to get to wintergreen that's where we're going small little ski resort small little one they have to make most of the snow anyway and so it's about four hours and we made great time we made it there in like three and a half hours we get there we're all hyped up we get steve's rental gear and his snowboard and the whole nine yards while i'm standing there you know kind of not impatiently but i always just forgot how much of a hassle it is to get rental stuff after you've had your own board and so the entire day we're struggling because you know steve's re-learning how to snowboard and i'm trying not to go too fast and all that sort of stuff but that is not where the story shines ladies and gentlemen the
