FROZEN Stuffed FOODS Taste Test _ Deep-Fried TWINKIES & Oreo Churros

A Tasty Adventure in the Frozen Food Aisle

As I stepped into the frozen food aisle, I was surprised to see a variety of treats that caught my attention. Besides ice cream, which is not typically something I venture into, I found some intriguing options that made me want to try them out. Today, I'm excited to share with you my experience tasting Hostess Deep Fried Twinkies, Oreo Churros, and Totinos Stuffed Nachos.

My journey began with the Hostess Deep Fried Twinkies. As I unwrapped the product, I was struck by its funnel cake battered sponge cake exterior. Holy smokes! The instructions stated that it could be cooked in a conventional oven, toaster oven, or deep fryer. I decided to use my toaster oven for eight minutes, as overbaking might cause the cream filling to melt. As I popped the Twinkie into the oven, I couldn't help but feel excited about the prospect of trying something new. When it emerged, I let it cool slightly before taking a bite.

The moment of truth had finally arrived! The first thing that struck me was the crispy texture, which was not as greasy as I expected. The familiar yellow cake inside was still recognizable, and when I took a bite, I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavors. It tasted fried, but without being overly greasy; in fact, it had a doughnut-y, fried flavor to it that I found quite appealing. If you like those mini doughnuts, you'll love this! The caky texture and nutmeggy flavor reminded me of those tiny treats, and the Twinkie itself was surprisingly light and fluffy, becoming denser as I worked through it in my mouth.

The Oreo Churros were another delightful discovery. As a traditional churro would be more like a doughnut on the outside covered in cinnamon sugar, these had a similar shape but were more vanilla/egg flavored and cream-filled. The separate sugar topping added an extra layer of flavor and texture. I was excited to see if they would live up to their name, so I popped them into my 400-degree oven for seven minutes.

The aroma that filled the air as the Oreo Churros emerged from the oven was incredible – sweet, baked, and reminiscent of chocolate cake. The texture was spot on, with a little bit of chewiness that made me want to sink my teeth in. However, it was missing that essential greasiness that comes with deep-fried churros. Instead, it tasted like deep-fried chocolate cake with a cream filling in the middle. I couldn't help but imagine how much better these would taste if they were deep-fried as well.

As I continued my adventure through the frozen food aisle, I came across Totinos Stuffed Nachos in queso flavor. These had been around for a while, but this was my first time trying them. The large triangles seemed to sizzle away, and when I took a bite, I was greeted by a familiar taste that instantly brought back memories of eating pizza rolls as a child. As kids, my brother and I would often eat Totinos pizza rolls, and it's interesting to note that these have been around for a while.

The inside of the queso-filled triangles had molten hot cheese that was still stretchy and infused with bell pepper chili flavor. The crust was crunchy, fried, and doughy all at once – a texture combination I found both familiar and comforting. As someone who's burnt their roof of mouth from eating pizza rolls in the past, I knew exactly what to expect from this product.

While the Totinos Stuffed Nachos did share some similarities with Pizza Rolls, there was something different about these queso-filled triangles. The crust had a hint of corn flavor that added depth to the experience. Both products were, however, incredibly greasy on both the outside and inside – which is probably what makes them so addictive.

Throughout my journey through the frozen food aisle, I discovered three delightful treats that not only exceeded my expectations but also brought back memories of my childhood. Whether you're a fan of sweet or savory flavors, there's something for everyone in this world of tasty adventures. Who knows what other surprises await us in the frozen food aisle?

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enGreetings, my lovelies!Hi, it's Emmy.Welcome back!Today I am going to be tasting some things I found in the frozen food aisle.Besides ice cream, I really don't go to the frozen aisle very often,so I was surprised to see some of the things they had thereincluding this! And this is Hostess Deep Fried Twinkies. It's funnel cake battered sponge cake.Holy smokes! And you can cook it in a conventional oven, toaster oven or in a deep fryer....And do not overbake it because it may cause the cream filling to melt.Whoa! And they are indeed fried.I am going to pop this into the toaster oven for eight minutes.Be right back!See you in a little bit...There is our Twinkie.Smells good!Deep fried and sweet --a lot like the smells of a doughnut shop.It feels pretty crispy.Sounds pretty crispy.Let's cut...Whoa! Look at that!So it looks like I didn't overbake itwhich is good. And there is the familiar yellow cake. All right, let's give this a taste. Here we go.That's not too bad.So, first off, I should probably mention that I am not a huge fan of Twinkies in the first place, but this is actually better then a typical Twinkie in the sense that it's warmed upso you really get a lot of those sweet flavorsit definitely tastes fried; it doesn't feel greasy;although it does have that kind of familiar doughnut-y, fried flavor to it.If you like those rolls of mini doughnuts you will really, really, like thisbecause that is exactly what this tastes like.To me it tastes more like those mini doughnuts more than a Twinkie. It has that same caky texture except this is warm, and that same kind of nutmeggy flavor too.The fried coating on the outside is actually quite thinbut it's enough to give it that doughnut-y fried flavor. And the Twinkie itself is actually really light and fluffy, but as you kind of work through it in your mouth it kind of gets subsequently denser. So that was the Deep-Fried Twinkies.I would imagine that if you were to actually deep fry them it would taste more authentic:the crust I would imagine would get a little bit more crisper;it would definitely be greasier, but it would probably taste more like what you would actually get at a fair. And this is Oreo Churros. And this is another classic fair item but this is Oreo-flavored.I've never had one of these before. So, a traditional churro would be more of a, just donut on the outside covered in cinnamon sugar --it has a similar kind of shape, but it's more kind of vanilla/egg flavored, and it's not cream filled.Short...little churros.Sugar topping that's separate, so after you bake them you roll them into that.and these are at a 400 degree oven for seven minutes. All right, be right back! These smell pretty good!Oreo sugar.Roll them while they're hot.So I like this -- this kind of gives an air of kind of authenticity, I think. And, unlike the Twinkies, these don't really smell fried. They actually smell more baked and more like chocolate cake. And you know that's pretty much what I would imagine an Oreo churro to taste like. The texture's actually pretty spot on, it's got a little bit of that chew. This has a cream filling in it which is completely different. It is a little bit dry.And it is missing that kind of greasiness that comes with a churro that's deep fried. So I think in the sense of having a more authentic flavor, these would probably also taste better deep fried as well.Very, very reminiscent of a churro especially with that crunchy, sugary coating on the outside. And, in terms of chocolate flavor, it's not overly intense, it tastes kind of like deep fried chocolate cakewith a little bit of a cream filling in the middle. And because these are a little dry, I really wanna dip these into something. I think it would go really well with maybe coffee --something that's not sweet because these are already so sweet already. So the next item I got are these:and these are Totinos Stuffed Nachos. This is queso flavor. So, as kids my brother and I grew up eating Totinos pizza rolls. We never had these before, so I'm not sure how long these has been around, but it's the first time I've ever seen it before.Wow, these are interesting!Look at those -- they're huge!Big triangles. And they've got this kind of horizontal striped pattern on them.Sizzling away....They're not that crispy. The corners are crispy, but the center part is kinda dough-y -- ooh!And from my days of eating pizza rolls, I know that this filling is molten,so I'm gonna let this cool off a little bit.I can't tell you how many times I've burnt the roof of my mouth from eating pizza rolls. They smell really good -- kind of corny, and cheesy, and chillied? All right, let's give that a go!And those are good. They're a lot like Pizza Roll.Their crust is simultaneously crunchy, fried, and a little bit doughy. And the inside has molten hot cheese that's a little bit stretchy still, and then infused with lots of bell pepper chili flavor in there -- really good actually!Mm-hm.The crust is a little bit different than the Pizza Roll's -- it tastes like there's some corn in there --but like Pizza Rolls, these are both greasy on the outside and on the inside. And I think that's probably what makes them good -- yum!And if you don't know what queso is, queso means \"cheese\" in Spanish, but it's also the name of a very popular cheese dip down in Texas that uses melty cheese, sometimes Velveeta, and Ro-TEL canned peppers, and mixed together to get this really oozy cheese, warm, chili dip.And that was Totinos Stuffed Nachos -- they're pretty great for what they are.I have to admit that I'm probably biased because I did -- like I mentioned -- grow up eating pizza rolls, but yeah, very familiar and nostalgic and delicious.Healthy? Good for you? Not at all. I mean, what do you expect to find from stuffed frozen nachos?Thank you guys so much for watching!
