Here is the rewritten article:
**The Tool Party**
Today, we're at Harbor Freight, testing out some screwdrivers to see which one is the most durable. We've got a few different brands lined up, and we'll be hammering away to see how they hold up.
First up, we've got the Doyle. It's been feeling pretty good so far. Let's just... whoa! Yeah, that didn't go as planned. Okay, well that was exciting. We've added a little safety modification - she just bent at the middle. Okay. That got shorter. So this failed kind of two ways. It broke at the handle, and the shaft of the driver drove into the handle, which isn't really what you want, but not a spectacular failure. You know, everybody's safe.
Let's throw that Doyle in there. Ready? (hammering sounds) That didn't take too long. Well, easy break. Let's see if the Klein can beat the Doyle. I don't like where it's already starting to bend towards. Yeah, I think we can kind of call that a failure. Who would you rather have?
Well, you could still use this one (points to a broken screwdriver). This one, you can't do jack diddly with. Yeah... We'll say Klein, it deserves one win. Honestly, I've been feeling bad for it. Alright, Icon, let's see how she breaks. Oh my goodness, what is with you? What do you think the Snap-on is going to do better? I mean, I don't know if it did better last time.
(Snap-on screwdriver being hammered) There she goes! Broke through the handle. Broke the handle. Between the Icon and the Snap-on, I'm going to give this one to the icon. Really? They broke similarly, but at a fraction of the price. Man oh man, what a bummer.
I feel like they all did pretty terrible. We got two that just broke completely, and we just got the angle guys, angle crew. So now it's down to these two guys - you've got your Klein and your Husky. For me, it's the Klein. Because it didn't actually break; the handle just bent. Didn't absorb the shaft at all. It's really not ever going to break the handle like that, just by hammering the back of it.
You know what? I'll agree with you. Klein tools, man - Klein tools, not bad. And honestly, really the only win that I had today. Now let's talk about it with all the knowledge that we've gained today and let's rank them up. Take all that data. Yeah. You distill it within your brain thoughts. Distill it down.
And what tool would you spend your hard-earned money on, that goes in your toolbox? You've got the Doyle... I'm going Doyle, Doyle rules! The overall winner, Doyle.

Not going to lie toyou, I mean, it feels cheap.- It looks very cheap. It almost looks like this one is sideways.Already off with that much better grip.- That's just a nice beefy grip.I like this one better.- Yeah, Harbor freight isclaiming this is comparable.I guess from a quantity standpoint. This set's eight, this set's 22.- So almost three times the price, but still $22 for a setof 10 decent screwdrivers.- Right?- Not a bad price. We've got the Doyles.- Doyles,- Doyle rules.- Doyle rules.- We'll find out.- Oh, that's pretty nice.- We're comparing thoseto these Klein tools.(crinkling)- Our packaging isn't great. But you know, we can't judgea book by its packaging.- That'sliterally this test though.- First of all, they copied them.- Oh yeah. Twiceas much money for those?- Yeah, I see it.- I'm not with it.- Let's move on toour most expensive grouping. So a while back Harbor freightreleased their Icon lineand it's pretty muchlike a Snap-on copy job. This is sort of like thequintessential nice screwdriver.- I gotta tell you,I feel a little bit bad aboutwhat we're gonna do to these things.- Alright Jer,well now that we've opened all the boxesand touched all the drivers, before we move on to, you know, trying to drive any screws with these,I wanna see, you know, these all have their different coatings.- Yeah.- Let's hit themwith a file real quick, and see if we can tell any differences.- All right. For the first test,we're just going to hit eachof these things with a fileand see if we can tell any differencein the durabilityor the hardness of thecoating on each driver.- Nice.- We'll start at the top of the range.See what happens with a Snap-on.Just one good-- Well, youfiled it that's for sure.- Sure did.- Little scuff, mark.- Little scuff mark, gives a little character.- But nothing crazy.- Doesn't seem to have gonethrough the coating or anything.- No.- Now let's see how the Icon holds up.This might be doing better.- Right.- I don't know.It looks like a little moredamage going on in the Snap-on.Honestly, I think the theIcon takes the cake there.- Okay.- Now let's moved downthe range a little bit,see how the Klein versus Doyle fair.- Um, similar results to, I'd say, both the Snap-on and the Icon. Now, let's see about the Klein.Ooh, this feels a little different, sounds a little worse.- Ooh. Ooh. Okay. Okay.- You really don'tlike that that much?- No, when you do it, it hurts.Okay. Alright, you've done it.You've done it.- And it feels softer, but it's really notdoing much more damage.- No, I think it's probably-- It looks aboutthe same about the same.- About the same. But that one gets an F minus for-Stop!- We've got the Huskies$22 set of screwdrivers. It feels softer. It seems to be damaging pretty easily.I'd say so far that's been the worst. Now let's see, this iscoated, I would say.- You can really see the chunksof metal coming off that.- Yeah. And I mean, it feels soft.Honestly, I think I might stillput the Husky in last place.I would put these in the same category. These probably as athree pack did the best.I mean, it's a little bit subjective.- Yeah.- But I'd say I feel pretty goodabout the coating on these.- Right.- Now, let's get a little bit moreinto what these things are meant for.Let's drive a bunch ofscrews with these thingsand see how they hold upafter doing a bunch of screws. To drive a bunch of screws with these,it's either going to be a workout for us,or we should cut themand put them in a drill.- Let's cut them andshow some sparky footage.(intense music plays)- All right, so a big waythat screwdrivers can failis by rounding off.So to figure out whichone of these is the bestand the worst and everything in between,we're going to drive a bunchof screws into this wood, then we're going to try to take them out.- I will start withthe old Harbor Freight.- The Pittsburgh. Now Jerry, it's time to doone of my favorite things.Fricking screw it, dude.- Drilling some screws. Here we go.Oops.(drilling)- You're not getting themall the way in anymore. There's no more tip.We look closely,we can see there ain't much left.Well now let's put itup against that Huskyand see who wins.Let's see if it can do more than 13.(drilling)- It's got a little bit of twist in there.(drilling)- Pretty dang good.- Still driving screws. This handily beats the Pittsburgh.- But you know, this is only a $22 set.So as we keep going, they should get even better, you'd think.Alright, we got the Doyleout of a $25 set from Harbor Freight.(drilling)- It's got some wear for sure. The flutes have twisted a tiny bit.Let's see if we can pull them out.- Do you guys do this?Do you wet it?- You do that?- Yeah.- Like for real.- Yeah.(drilling)- That's still atotally usable screwdriver. So far as we move up withprice, we move up with quality.- But now we have the Klein.Oh that thing looks good.(drilling)It's definitely feeling worse.- That seemed honestly kindalike the least fun one yet. It's still a total usable screwdriver.- The Doyle looks pretty goodcompared to it.- They're yeah, they're really close.- They're really close, right.- I'd probably go with the Doyle.Doyle does rule.- Now let's move onto the expensivest category. How are they going to look after50 screws in 50 screws out?(drilling)- Not a problem.- Not bad. That's a usable bit.- Right, you ready?- Yeah, let's test this Snap-on.- You gave the Snap-on such a tiny tip.Oh you (beep). What the (beep)- I mean, holy (beep)- Second probably are twisted, and that ain't gonna get any better.- I think thatone looks pretty bad.- It does.It looks beat up.I mean, I don't know, man,I think Snap-on might beresting on their laurels.- Two outta threehave compared very well,if not better, to what theytell you to compare it to.- Honestly,Harbor Freight's doingpretty well in my book.- Thus far forme, Icon's in the lead.- Okay. For our next test,Jerry's gonna throw a weight on the handleand turn the screw with a torque wrenchand see how much torque it takesbefore either the screw driver breaks, the screw breaks,or it just skips over to the next one.- All right, ready?- Yeah. I'm ready.Let's see how thisPittsburgh grips the tip.Oh, very, very poorly.Yeah, she's fully twisted.- Seven footpounds twisted that tip?Really just sad.Holy crap.- Well, it can only get better from here.- Let's see if the Husky canfair a little bit better.- Sure, and there she goes.Starting to jump. All right. What'd you get to.- Eight point three.- You got a littletwist on the tip there, but it didn't break, stilla usable screwdriver.- Better than Harbor Freight?- Yeah, much better.Husky wins again.- Now we loaded up the old Doyle.- See how she does?- Six, seven, eight, eight point five.Okay, well that means thathad a little bit better grip in there.- This looks great.- That is a usablescrewdriver, for sure.- Right.- Let's see if the Klein does any better.- Eight pointeight, eight point eight.Kicking up.- Kicking up?Eight point eight? Whatdid the last one get, eight point five?- Yeah.- Tiny bit of twist.I mean tiny.- Now remember the Kleins aretwice as much as the Doyles.Because of that, I'm justgoing to factor in the price, and I gotta say Doyle wins.- Yeah, I'm with you.- Yep.- Okay. Now we've got the Icon.- Seven, eight point five- Oh, same asthe last one a minute.Did that twist?- Yeah, that'sa twisted driver bit.Oh wow.Now I'm really interested tosee how the Snap-on works.- I cannot wait for the Snap-on.- Two, three, four, five, six, seven, seven point seven.- No way. Whoa.No way what the.- It broke off.- It broke immediately. Are you kidding me?- The onlyother one that broke,it was a Pittsburgh.- So then between ourwinners, what would you take? You got the twist on the Icon. You got a little bit oftwist and wear on the Huskyand just a slight twist on the Doyle.- I think the Doyle takes it.- A hundred percent, 25 bucks.Right? Even more durablethan the Icon in the test, which, for half the price?- I know it's pretty good.- So oftentimes you use screw driversin ways that they'renot supposed to be used, like as a pry bar, especially when you're working on cars.- Yeah, we have our hydraulic press here.We have a nice little setup towhere this Ram will push downon the handle screwdriver, and we're going to measurehow much pressure it takesto get that tip to snap.- Up first, we of course haveour cheapest screwdrivers, the Pittsburgh.Give me a break baby.Give me a break.Just break.Broken at the handle.Because she don't gotno full fricking tang.Kind of figured that the tip would break, sort of impressed that it didn't.All right, Husky. What do you got for me?Ooh. We're at a hundred PSI right there.Well, that definitelybeats the Pittsburgh.- 100 percent. Intact.- Still intact. You can still use this.- Okay, up next is the Doyle.- I feel like youshould have this face mask on.- Yeah, I mean, that would make sense.- Before I do.- And I think itjust bent enough to pop out.- It's Klein time, baby.- We better break a fricking tip.- (cheering)- We got doublebreak, double break.- And south of a hundred.- Whoa.- Klein, you fools. You've been bested by Harbor Freight.- And now for the Icon.Push her down.Bend for me baby, bend.- Clean breakat a pretty thick part.- Now we gotta see-- Will the Snap-on snap off?- Can I hold the camera, and you say it?- Will the snap on snap off?- If the last test is an indicator,I think this thing's gonna break.- Seven five.- Oh boy. Coming up on a hundred. That's a bendy, that's a pass.- That's a pass.- Eh, so it beat the Iconfor the first time, I guess.- I guess it has.Okay, so here are three champions.- Yep.I'm going Doyle. They're red.You get to say Doyle rulesevery time you use 'em.- All right, youknow what Doyle, Doyle is.- I hate to keep saying it,but maybe Doyle does rule.- The other thing thatyou're not supposed to dothat you'll often do ishammer 'em from the backside.None of these are meant to be hammered.- That's right.- But we're gonna hammer 'em anywayand see what happens.- And we're ready topump, pump that screwdriver.- Holy crap.Yeah so now we have a little hook,we're way calmer than we should be.Okay, well that was exciting.- Yeah, we've added aslight safety modification. She just bended at the middle.Okay. That got shorter. So this failed kind of two ways.It broke at the handle, and the shaft of the driverdrove into the handle, which isn't really what you want, but not a spectacular failure. You know, everybody's safe.Let's throw that Doyle in there.Ready?- Ready.- That didn't take too long.Well, easy break.Let's see if the Kleinscan best the Doyle.- I don't likewhere it's alreadystarting to bend toward.- Yeah I think we can kindof call that a failure.Who would you rather have?- Well, youcould still use this. This, you can't do jack diddly with.- Yeah.- We'll say Klein, it deserves one win.- Honestly, I've been feeling bad for it.All right.- Icon.- Icon, let's see how she breaks.- Oh my goodness. What is with you?- What do you think is theSnap-on gonna do better?- I mean, I don'tknow it did better last time. There she go.Broke through the handle.- Broke the handle.Between the Icon and the Snap-on,I'm going to give this one to the icon.- Really?- They broke similarly, but at a fraction of the price.- Man oh man, what a bummer.- I feel like theyall did pretty terrible.- We got twothat just broke completely. And we just got theangle guys, angle crew.- So now it'sdown to these two guys. You got your Klein and your Husky. For me, it's the Klein.Because it didn't actually break, the handle just bent.Didn't absorb the shaft at all. It's really not ever gonnabreak the handle like that, just by hammering the back of it.But you can send the shaft inand this thing sucked right in.- You know what?I'll agree with you.- Klein tools, man.Klein tools, not bad.And honestly, really theonly win that I had today. Now let's talk about itwith all the knowledgethat we've gained today, and let's rank them up.- Take all that data.- Yeah. You distill itwithin your brain thoughts.- Distill it down. And what tool would you spendyour hard earned money onthat goes in your toolbox.- You've got the Doyle.I'm going Doyle, Doyle rules,- Doyle rules, dude.I honestly hadn't even heard of this brandfrom Harbor Freight, and these throughout thetesting today, honestly,I would say did the best.So I think we're prettymuch in agreement here.- Yeah.- The overall winner, Doyle.(upbeat music)- So, Jer, isexpensive more better?- No way, Jose.Nope, not even close.- I'm happy that we did this.I think it's a fun little thing.Checking what Harbor freighttells us to compare to.- Right?- Maybe we'll do this againin the future with some other stuff.- What's up guys?Today is our National Donut Day Sale. You can go on donutmedia.comand get 25% off everything store wide.We also have some verylimited addition items, including a new Donutlogo tee in butter color.Look at this thing. This thing is creamy, dude.We also have partnered withSee See Coffee up in Portland. They're a really cool coffee company, and we have our very ownlimited edition Donut coffeethat we partner with See See,and to go with it a See See coffee mug.Look at that.So go to donutmedia.com,get 25% off site wide.Get yourself some gear andget yourself some coffee.- Well, that was fun, Jobe.- It's been a lot of fun. Thanks for hanging outwith us on the Tool Party.Follow us here at donutmediaon Instagram at donut media, follow Jobe at Zach Jobe, follow me at Jeremia Burton. And, and if you want,we're actually going to be giving awaysome of these wonderfullybroken screwdrivers.- Oh, think about it.- But to do that, you've got to be a partof the Donut Underground. You gotta be on the Discord. So hit that join button below.- J- j- j- join.- Hey, nobody got hurt today.- No, Jimmy almost lost his face.- Did it get you, causeit almost got Jimmy.- It bounced off my stomach.
