**The Atlas Overlander: A Revolutionary Recreational Vehicle**
Wouldn't a vehicle like this be a great recreational vehicle, similar to an Overlander? Yeah, this would be a fantastic overlander! You could climb over a bunch of stuff and this would be a great place to sleep. Speaking of Overlanding, we've got new Overlanding-themed shirts - get these shirts Overland until I'm underland! That means I'll drive trucks on the trails till I die.
**What Makes the Atlas Unique**
This isn't just a shirt; it's a vehicle that actually has wheels and can steer. A shirt works like a skid loader, where one side spins backwards and the other spins forward for turning, which means you can't turn it at speed. In contrast, the atlas has a steering wheel and two levers like a skid steer.
**Performance and Capabilities**
The Atlas is pretty quick for what it is on paper, going about 60 kilometers an hour (approximately 37 miles per hour). More importantly, it goes four and a half miles per hour in the water. The Sherp can climb at a 35-degree angle, while this vehicle can climb at a 45-degree angle - that's 10 degrees more! All these features add up to the main advantage of the Atlas: just all-around drivability.
**Driving Experience**
We have a steering wheel and three pedals, which I'm used to. This allows you to do more, and someone can hop in an atlas like we did and drive it straight off the go. The Sherp is also fatter than this thing; the Sherp weighs 5100 pounds, while this one weighs only 4800 pounds - practically a race car! It's only as much as a Ford F-150.
**Real-World Testing**
Normally when driving something this big, you really have to put your foot in it to slow it down. But not the Atlas; we're in fifth gear, going 24 kilometers an hour (approximately 15 miles per hour). We're in Salt Lake City, and it's rush hour - people want to get home. Sorry I'm late, honey! I was stuck behind a tank.
**Water Testing**
Yep, water button pressed... I mean, he didn't tell me any guidelines for speed. Yeah, second or third gear and don't go past the yellow. That's weird feeling... This thing is buoyant, but Justin, get behind me, okay? In the middle, guys - be very conscious of where we are and where our weight is doing. Not a very stable boat.
**Conclusion**
I wouldn't say this thing is the most capable off-road vehicle on the planet, nor would I daily drive it... But it does make a better boat than any car I've ever been in, and definitely a better dock! There we are - we're on dry land, dude. Thank you for watching this video and everything else on Donuts. WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is the most capable off-road vehicle in the world it's called The Atlas and it can conquer sand mud Rock and even water and it'll cost you a cool 200 000 but is it really that capable and is it actually worth a six-figure price tag well today we're going to be breaking down all the futuristic elements of this crazy off-roader and maybe even see what it's like as a daily driver I don't know what situation I would need this for but it would be perfect for that situation are you saying that you want an apocalypse I think I might be an atlas man I'm Justin I'm James welcome donut this is the Atlas ATV manufactured by Ukrainian company Atlas industry and soon to be available in the US from off-grid Motors it's also one of the most bizarre and impressive vehicles that I've ever seen in person the first thing you might notice are the five and a half feet tall tires this is ultimately the secret to the atlas his incredible capability their sheer size and extremely durable compound give you a crazy amount of grip in any off-road condition with most mud and all-terrain tires do you have to get out of the car set up all kinds of Palms get like a gauge or whatever just if you want to inflate or deflate your tires according to the driving conditions that's kid stuff because with the atlas all you got to do is pull a really sick lever and it can deflate its tires for increased traction you pull another lever and they re-inflate using air from the exhaust to get to a safe driving pressure of 2 PSI two it only takes 20 seconds two PSI sounds absolutely insane that's more than 15 times lower than your standard car tire pressure it makes sense for grips sure but you take a look under the vehicle and you realize why they designed it this way there's no suspension in this thing the low pressure and flex of the tires around obstacles means that these balloons can stretch around any rocks or debris in your path all of these tires are connected to each other if you go to an obstacle and you go over with one tire it'll push air out of this one fill the other ones so you can get more traction anywhere it's all one unit it's all one unit dude just like you and that's why this produces up to a thousand pound feet of torque at the wheel coming from just 140 from the drive shaft those tires are designed to provide traction on any surface including water this tread works like a bunch of tiny paddles because this thing isn't just a car it's a boat and we're going to take this thing out on the water a little bit later it's sitting up super high it's got 22 inches of clearance which is a lot but you can bash the crap out of the bottom of this thing also you can see where the exhaust comes in and feeds into this tire because the wheel isn't just a wheel it's an air tank so it's a differential a wheel a tire and an air tank and a paddle and uh transfer case transfer case and a float yes things got more jobs than Nolan but that's not the only thing special about the atlas's wheels and tires this thing has three steering modes front wheel steering like a normal car it's also got two different rear wheel steering settings first the rear wheels will counter steer so the rear wheels will go in the opposite direction of the front wheels this reduces the atlas's turning radius to about 19 feet to put that into perspective a normal car which is much smaller than this takes about 30 feet on average to do a U-turn you can also point the rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels for crabbing this gives you you a huge advantage while trying to find traction because the rear wheels are following a totally separate track than the front wheels if there's any traction the atlas is going to find it this thing looks absolutely sick from the outside let's see what it looks like on the inside what the heck well that doesn't fit at all hold on I think I can fix it give me a second if only this was as easy as shopping with today's sponsor eBay Motors you know they got a feature called eBay guaranteed fit that eliminates all the guesswork of ordering parts online check it out you don't have to sit here wasting time stressing about whether or not you'll get it to fit with eBay's guaranteed fit you'll find parts for your exact make and model or you get your money back it's that simple just add your vehicle year the make the model the trim and the engine to my garage and then look for the green check mark When shopping there fits perfectly to find your guarantee fit start shopping at ebaymotors.com or just click the link below enjoy the show all right that's a step I would ride in this forever it's really nice but not overtly luxurious I love the Quilted pattern on the seats but I also wouldn't feel weird getting this all muddy exactly it's all very cleanable like this is like outdoor carpet so you vacuum this I mean it's definitely roomy and there's like seating surfaces everywhere it is Center driven like a McLaren F1 yeah this thing is a manual yeah it's manual it's five minutes so this this is your rear view mirror but it's a camera your left mirror is also a camera in your right mirror and then this is all your like tilts and yaw gauges and then this is your flip gauge I don't know what situation I would need this for but it would be perfect for that situation exactly you know what I mean like I want to create a situation in my life that this would fill are you saying that you want an apocalypse that yeah I mean I only want an apocalypse to happen it dude this suits you you might be an atlas man I think I might be an atlas man let's see how this thing runs over rocks I mean this is a pretty big rock see what it does dude are you kidding me what what what dude no way clearly found that this feels like a hovercraft yeah yeah the brakes are pretty sticky barely felt that yeah not at all it's a pretty rough terrain that we just went over and we didn't feel it at this thing has no spension but those tires it's a big old fat airbag big balloons if we were in another truck going 25 miles an hour like we are right now we'd be bouncing our heads off the ceiling this would be extremely bumpy I mean right now my head is what two not even two inches from the ceiling I haven't hit it once okay the brakes are very sticky we're gonna see what kind of incline this thing can handle so I've gone from next to Justin to behind Justin dude from back here it feels like a spaceship yeah it's like oh she's got some I'm gonna try to make that turn yeah that's why I put it in four-wheel steer yes we got four wheel steering on boy oh boy oh boy oh boy so all of the tires being connected in the same system can be used to your advantage but it's also something that you have to take into account when you're making sharp turns or if you're at a pretty steep grade going sideways you're gonna smush one half of the truck and that was a very sharp turn so that probably it just didn't like that right this is the most Batman vehicle I've ever seen in person this thing was designed to be a work vehicle yeah you know like getting people out of avalanches you're supposed to fit two stretchers in the back but I think it would also be a pretty good recreational vehicle like an Overlander yeah this would be a great overlayer I mean you could climb over a bunch of stuff and this would be a great place to sleep yeah speaking of over Landing yeah we've got new over Landing themed shirts you can get these shirts Overland until I'm underland that means I'm gonna drive trucks on the trails till I die go to go to media.com get yourself some yeah so a lot of you are obviously thinking hey isn't that a shirt well guy that's like saying isn't that Ford Explorer or a Jeep no it's not for a number of reasons this is actually better than a shirt because the wheels actually steer a shirt works like a skid loader where for a we're in The Waterboy all right it is buoyant but Justin maybe get behind me okay in the middle okay guys let's be very conscious of where we are and where what our weight is doing not a very left it's going left the dogs should make me a little nervous I am not putting my weight on the edge of anything all right so I don't know if I would daily drive this thing I wouldn't say that
