I Spent 30 Days with iOS 18 Messages Here's What's New!

**iPhone Cases from ESR**

As I mentioned earlier, my sponsor for this video is ESR, and they've come out with some amazing iPhone cases that I want to tell you about. The first one is their classic hybrid case. It's a clear shell case, but since it's a hybrid case, it's also a little bit flexible. This is probably the best part of the case, as it provides a good balance between protection and flexibility. The case also comes with a built-in "Do-it all stash stand" that allows you to browse or watch videos at any angle between 15 and 85 degrees. Additionally, the case has super strong magnets up to 1500 G of pool strength.

My personal favorite case from ESR is their soft Cloud case. It's also a hybrid case with a built-in "Do-it all stash stand" that allows for flexibility and convenience. The case also features a very strong magnet, which I think is one of the best parts about it. If you're looking for added protection, don't worry - ESR has got you covered too. They have an Armor Tough case that's designed to provide 360° total phone protection. This case is perfect for those who want extra protection without sacrificing flexibility.

The Armor Tough case features a two-piece design with shock absorbing Air Guard Corners, tough clear acrylic back, and dual layer edges. It also has built-in armorite screen protectors on the back, as well as dust shields and 13 ft of drop protection. As you can see, this case is designed to provide maximum protection for your iPhone. Plus, it comes with a built-in "Do-it all stash stand" and super strong mag safe connection for any accessories.

Even if you're not a case person, I highly recommend using a screen protector. ESR has new armite screen protectors that are super easy to install, thanks to an automatic dust removal tool and a Flawless fit tray. These screen protectors are perfect for those who want to add an extra layer of protection to their iPhone without sacrificing style.

**Tapbacks in iOS 18**

One of the exciting features in iOS 18 is tapbacks with tap packs. While tapbacks have been around for a while, they've been limited to the same few designs lately. However, with iOS 18, Apple has redesigned these tapbacks to be more colorful and visually appealing. The new design features 3D color-designed icons that are sure to brighten up any conversation.

The most significant change with tapbacks in iOS 18 is that any Emoji can now be used for a tapback. This means that users have more flexibility when it comes to choosing the perfect emoji to express themselves. The redesigned tapback images make more sense now, as they'll be sitting alongside other emojis in conversations. Another exciting feature of tapbacks in iOS 18 is the ability to format text with reactions. When you tap on a message with reactions, a popup will appear showing who sent what response.

Furthermore, users can now format their text by selecting the text and swiping to apply different effects. These effects include bolding, italicizing, striking through, and underlining text. Additionally, users can choose from eight animated effects that add an extra layer of personality to their messages. The animated effects include Shake, nod, explode, ripple, bloom, and jitter.

**Sending Messages via Satellite**

One of the most exciting features in iOS 18 is the ability to send messages via satellite. This feature was first introduced with the iPhone 14 series and has now been expanded to other supported devices. With this feature, users can send messages even without Wi-Fi or cellular coverage. The only requirement for this feature is that there needs to be a clear view of the sky.

When sending messages via satellite, the Emoji characters will appear larger than usual because they are displayed in a higher resolution. This makes it easier for users to see and read their messages, especially in low-light conditions. Another exciting feature related to message sending is the ability to create custom emojis using Apple Intelligence. With this feature, users can input an idea or description of the Emoji they want to send, and Apple will generate multiple options based on that.

**Apple Intelligence Features**

Speaking of Apple Intelligence features, one of the most exciting ones in iOS 18 is the creation of custom emojis. Users can now ask Apple Intelligence to create a custom emoji based on their input. This feature is perfect for those who want to add a personal touch to their messages. The new generation emoji characters will be different from standard Emoji characters and come in various artistic styles.

Another exciting feature related to Apple Intelligence is the ability to create whole images using these styles. These images can be used anywhere, including in the Messages app or the image playground app, where users can save and use them as needed. In addition to custom emojis and images, Apple has also made some changes to links sent with messages.

**Customizing Links**

When sending links via Messages, users now have more control over how they appear. The new feature allows users to customize the appearance of their links by selecting different colors and styles. This is perfect for those who want to add a personal touch to their messages without sacrificing professionalism.

Additionally, the new feature makes it easier for users to distinguish between official Apple pages and third-party websites. With this new functionality, users can choose from a range of colors and styles that suit their needs. The customization options for links sent via Messages are sure to make conversations more visually appealing and engaging.

**Conclusion**

Overall, iOS 18 has brought some exciting features that enhance the user experience. From tapbacks with customizable designs to Apple Intelligence features like custom emojis and image creation, there's something for everyone in this update. Whether you're a seasoned iPhone user or just starting out, iOS 18 is sure to bring new life to your conversations and make using an iPhone even more enjoyable.

miss the latest Apple news and rumors with iOS 18 the messages app is getting a big upgrade new ways to express yourself and communicate I want to start with my favorite new feature and something I've seen people asking for in so many of my videos the ability to schedule texts to do so open messages and jump into a text thread type out your message but instead of hitting the send button tap the plus button on the left a blue box will appear above your message with a time and date adjust this to when you want to send your message then you can hit that send button it shows sent like other messages but has a white background in a dotted blue line around it multiple messages can send later and you can edit them while they're still pending and you can send it instantly change the time or just delete it send later is supported for any iMessage thread including groups and users who haven't upgraded to iOS 18 it unfortunately doesn't work for SMS texting though those green bubbles the reason why is because with imessage it's able to upload and schedule the message to send even if your phone doesn't have cellular access but with SMS it can't schedule it for you later if you don't have service speaking of SMS we should talk about RCS if you aren't familiar with the new standard it's essentially the successor to SMS and MMS texting I won't go into the technical side of things if you want that check out my video that I've linked here but it will finally allow better communication with Android devices the messages will still be green but it will say RCS instead of SMS in the compose field RCS messages will have higher resolution images videos and gifs they can send over Wi-Fi in the internet instead of through your cell carrier every time there are even read receipts and typing indicators a lot of improvements maybe biggest of all for me group messages shouldn't have nearly as many issues if you had issue sending messages to Android users sound off about it down below
