The Art of Being a Pit Boy: A Conversation with Jesus Murphy and Smokey Joe
As we stepped into the kitchen, we were greeted by the aroma of delicious barbecue and the sound of sizzling meat. Jesus Murphy, the pit master, was hard at work seasoning up some ribs with his trusty blend of spices. "Yeah, let's take a look," he said with a smile, as he expertly applied the seasoning. "J's too busy cooking." But later on, they would be taking part in the Royal Rumble - a high-flying, over-the-top event that was sure to be a thrill.
As we wrapped up our conversation with Jesus Murphy and Smokey Joe, they shared one final joke. "Jermaine would just pick us all up and throw us up in the air like get out of here," Smokey Joe said, laughing. Jesus Murphy chuckled in agreement, adding, "I got him, I got him."
