I've Been Waiting to Show You This

**The World of Go-Karts and Racing**

When it comes to recreational activities that get your heart racing, few things compare to go-karting. These small, high-speed vehicles are designed for fun and thrills, and they come in all shapes and sizes. From tiny, kid-sized karts to full-size machines that can reach speeds of over 70 miles per hour, there's a go-kart out there for everyone.

**The Evolution of Go-Kart Technology**

One of the most impressive things about modern go-karts is their engineering. Unlike older models, which were often little more than wheels stuck on a rod, today's karts are marvels of precision and performance. Take the Rotex engine, for example, which powers some of the faster go-karts out there. This powerful engine delivers a whopping 70 miles per hour to drivers who are skilled enough to handle it. Other high-tech features include metal drive chains instead of rubber timing belts, making these karts incredibly reliable and long-lasting.

**Wiring Systems: Simple yet Complex**

Despite their simplicity, modern go-karts have some surprisingly complex systems. Take the wiring system on this particular kart, for example. It's a compact, efficient design that includes a kill switch, ignition coil, and other essential components. This level of sophistication is often overlooked by casual observers, who may assume that go-karting is all about simple, unadulterated fun. But beneath the surface lies a world of engineering and technology that requires attention to detail and a deep understanding of how these vehicles work.

**Racing and Competitions**

Go-karting isn't just a hobby for kids; it's also a competitive sport with its own tracks and racing leagues. These karts can reach incredible speeds, making them some of the fastest vehicles on the road. Professional drivers like this young lady take their skills very seriously, practicing and honing their techniques to shave precious seconds off their lap times. Even at younger ages, kids can get involved in go-karting with kid-sized karts that are perfect for learning the ropes.

**The Business of Go-Karting**

While some people view go-karting as a casual, recreational activity, others see it as a serious business. Serious racers and enthusiasts may invest thousands of dollars in high-performance karts and accessories, while others rent out their own tracks and paddocks to host events and competitions. This level of commitment requires a significant investment, but the rewards are well worth it.

**The Details: Roller Bearings and Maintenance**

For those who want to get serious about go-karting, attention to detail is crucial. Take roller bearings, for example – these precision components make or break a kart's performance. Modern karts use advanced materials and designs that minimize wear and tear on the wheels, allowing drivers to reach incredible speeds without sacrificing reliability.

**Real-World Experience: The 60 Version**

If you're new to go-karting, starting with a smaller, more affordable version like the 60 model can be an excellent way to get your feet wet. These karts are designed for beginners and experienced racers alike, offering a fun and thrilling experience that's easy on the wallet. As with any racing activity, there's always room to improve – but with the right kart and the right skills, you'll be hooked from the very start.

**Warranty and Maintenance: A Word of Caution**

If your go-kart has a warranty, don't hesitate to use it if something goes wrong. Modern karts are built to last, but even with proper maintenance, wear and tear can accumulate over time. In some cases, replacing parts like the VTC actuator may be necessary – and in these situations, it's essential to have a reliable repair manual or guidance from an experienced mechanic.

**Honda vs. Other Manufacturers**

When it comes to go-karting, Honda is one of the most respected brands around. Their karts are known for their reliability, durability, and performance – making them a popular choice among serious racers and enthusiasts. While other manufacturers like BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche offer high-quality karts as well, Honda's commitment to simplicity and ease of use sets it apart from the competition.

**The Joy of Go-Karting: A Simple yet Unforgettable Experience**

For those who have never tried go-karting before, the experience can be nothing short of exhilarating. The thrill of speeding around a track, feeling the rush of adrenaline as you push your kart to its limits – it's an experience that's hard to match. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, go-karting is sure to deliver a unique and unforgettable experience that will leave you eager for more.

as you can see these things are fiberglass they don't weigh that much so when you get an old big old man on these these weigh about 350 pounds so you're adding quite a bit of load when you're sitting on these things compared to the vehicle when you're leaning and stuff you're actually affecting the aerodynamics quite a bit one of these things which makes it even more interesting now they have various setups but you get three 10-minute races for about 60 bucks that's a lot of fun one of my customers happened to be a judge he wanted to get into cheap racing and all of his rich friends had porsches so he decided he was gonna go mazda miata so he bought a mazda miata and i'd work on it for him and i paid five six grand for the thing and he raced it around a little and even that started to bankrupt him he didn't like the cost especially when he took it to the formula one race track in austin when they're having a miata race and he found out that if he smashed into any of those barriers it was going to cost him about 15 000 for them to fix it that's what they charge the guys who mess them up so soon after he sold his miata and didn't race anymore and maybe you've got friends and race italian sports car well this is a burrell it's made in italy too now as you can see here there's two tracks the rental track is about half a mile it's still a pretty big track and for those track and realize that you're coming in over this hill here well the serious race is coming on the other side some of them store their racing carts in there and they're racing on a completely different track so you don't have to worry about being embarrassed by a pro now here's one of the faster carts you can see it's used it's going for 5900 bucks you're not going to get much in a race car for 5 900 you see it's gone well beyond the little bitty honda generator motor zero to 100 and back in 10 seconds now that is speed it's a honda engine it's 125 cc it's a two stroker so man does it have power twice a power four stroke a big old radio on it four hydraulic brakes got a six-speed transmission just like a motorcycle one two three four five six you can learn how to shift those things really fast and it's got chain drive talk about dependability you're not messing with differentials as you can see it's got a live rear axle you can have a lot of fun driving one of these things for people who really want to know how to drive let's say you try it out and you like it you want to go a little further got all racing academy here you get a pro to teach you how to drive get rid of a lot of the danger of you don't know what the heck you're doing by a guy who's been doing it for a long time here he is the master he's been racing stuff for 40 years he was at bondurant racing for 14 years the guy knows what he's doing he loves what he's doing he built this place you know maybe he's a little crazy well aren't we all a little crazy if you want to have some fun now here we are in the back where they fix them now you might think oh that's just a honda generator motor you remove the governor lighting things up these things can go 50 200 rpm and they say that they get about 10 000 miles out of one before they got to rebuild it because really you're running to the public things are going to happen well there's blocks there's heads in there there's crankshafts in there and this man here he claims that he can build one of those in about two hours now as i said these are italian made and they're supposed to have a lifespan of two years this one's four years old it's past its prime but it's still going now imagine if the italians could get rid of that and use it in their cars some of them may not even make it to two years but not too many people are gonna be happy buying a car and then after two years they got to buy another one italian go-karts yeah italian cars now if you're really into spade you can rent these 70 mile an hour carts got a rotex engine on it very good engines you notice instead of a rubber timing belt on the other one this is a metal drive chain it's putting out a lot more horsepower and believe me going 70 miles an hour when you're this far off the ground it really feels like you're going 270 miles an hour and they have different kinds of carts too this is a mid-sized one goes seven to 12 years old they got even smaller ones i'm going to show later so all ages can have fun in these things it isn't just a thing for little kids talk about simplicity this is the entire wiring system of the car there's a kill switch that goes the drive they still have a honda engine so they're very dependable now you might think go-karts how serious are they well guys bring some pretty big rigs to these races these guys are starting to set up you can see they got them stacked up so they can move them around been through a few bashes here and there this particular one is precision work speed concepts racing but if you want it to be small time you can come and rent them and have fun with the family you want to get serious you can buy your own cart you want to really get serious you can buy your own team you might think oh they're just wheels stuck on a rod look at these roller bearings i mean that is a work of art these things are really solid built if you want to get serious and if you're real serious you can rent your own little paddock and being a king of cheap i'm starting out with a 60 version and away i go so if you really want to get a feel of speed you might start with the 60 version of three races you might get hooked buy your own cart soup it up who knows but you can have a lot of fun for a little bit of money now you could spend thousands if you really want to get serious about it but you can start out dirt cheap you who are going to fix it yourself the first thing you want to do you know they just bolt in and out bolt it out and look at it because if you didn't change your all and you were a bad person the oil clogs up the little screens in it you can just get some cleaner and clean the screen and put in a lot of times that fixes it and some of them have a separate area where you on bolt and the filter screen is in there you need to clean that out too now if that doesn't work and it still acts up you could buy an actuator and i found that i get those dorman ones from discount auto parts stores and they work perfectly fine they're a lot cheaper than at the honda dealer and the dorman actuators i've found work perfectly fine and you just bolt it back in and away you go it's not hans it's a nice company you don't have to reprogram anything you just put it in and drive so i like about honda they don't make you like bmw mercedes porsche you change your part you got to reprogram everything no on that you just bolt it in and drive away it's an easy thing you can do yourself so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos remember to ring that bellif you've ever thought
