M3 16-Inch MacBook Pro -- EVERYTHING New!

The 16-in MacBook Pro: A New Era of Performance and Features

Apple's latest addition to its MacBook lineup is the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which boasts an upgraded M3 Pro or M3 Max chipset on the inside. The starting price for this new model is $2,499, which gets you a 12-core CPU on the M3 Pro and an 18-core GPU. This is a significant upgrade from the previous M2 Pro, which offered a 12-core CPU and a 19-core GPU. Although the GPU has been reduced to 18 cores, it's still faster than its predecessor.

The new M3 series chips bring several exciting features beyond just being faster. One notable feature is AV1 video decoding, which allows for smoother playback of high-quality video content. Additionally, these chips have a new hardware-accelerated RAGE tracing system, dynamic caching to improve GPU performance, and a new GPU architecture that enhances graphics capabilities.

However, there is one downside to the M3 Pro - Apple has reduced the memory bandwidth to 150 GB per second, compared to the 200 GB per second offered by the M2 Pro. This may be a concern for users who rely heavily on their MacBook Pros for demanding tasks. Fortunately, Apple offers several new memory options available on the new MacBook Pros, including 18GB, 36GB, 48GB, 96GB, and 128GB of unified memory.

For those who want to go all out, the M3 Max is an option that offers significant performance gains over the M2 Max. The M3 Max boasts a 16-core CPU, compared to the 12-core CPU on the M3 Pro. Additionally, the GPU has been upgraded to 40 cores, offering even more impressive graphics capabilities.

Storage has also remained largely unchanged, with Apple starting at 512GB and going up to 8TB. However, there is one notable exception - the M3 Max can only be outfitted with 8TB of storage, whereas before, an M2 Pro could have had 8TB as well.

In terms of hardware changes, Apple has made several tweaks to improve the overall user experience. The screen has been boosted in brightness by 20%, making it even more vibrant and eye-catching. This new brightness level is matched only by the Studio Display, making it an attractive option for those who already own a Studio Display.

Finally, Apple has introduced a new space black color option on the M3 Pro and M3 Max versions of the MacBook Pro. According to Apple, this new finishing process will help reduce fingerprints, making it easier to keep your laptop clean and smudge-free. While only available in silver and space black, this new color option is sure to appeal to those looking for a sleek and modern design.

scary fast late night Halloween's Eve event Apple introduced new versions of the MacBook Pro sporting the M3 series of chips in this video I'm going to go through every single feature that Apple introduced on this 16-in MacBook Pro there are changes with the 14-in MacBook Pro and many of them are similar but Apple has two versions of the 14in MacBook Pro so we're going to give that its own dedicated video here I'm going to focus on the 16in version so let's go ahead and dive into it starting off the 16-in MacBook Pro of course has been upgraded to the new M3 Pro or M3 Max chipset on the inside the 16-in MacBook Pro still starts off at $24.99 and that gets you a 124 CP CPU on the M3 Pro and an 18 core GPU previously it still started off with a 12 core of the M2 Pro but you had a 19 core GPU and don't worry there's definitely a performance increase on the M3 Pro in multiple ways so to start the actual CPU 12 core to 12 core not only are they faster per core than they were on the M2 series but apple is also improving it so now we're getting six high efficiency cores and six high performance cores whereas the M2 Pro only had four high performance cores and it had eight high efficiency cores on the GPU side yes we're going from 19 to 18 on that base model but the gpus are all faster than they were before and have a new architecture so we should still see Graphics improvements on this base model the new M3 series chips have a lot of new features going for them Beyond just being faster they feature av1 video decoding they have new hardware accelerated raate tracing there's Dynamic caching to improve the GPU a new GPU architecture the only downside with the M3 Pro is that Apple has lowered the memory bandwidth it's now only 150 GB per second whereas on the M2 Pro it was 200 GB per second if you want to get crazy you can out this thing with the M3 Max on the inside and the M3 Max has a lot of benefits over the M2 Max there's a big jump here in terms of performance for the CPU Apple's actually gone from a 12 core to a 16 core on that high end and for the GPU it's gone from a 38 to a 40 core GPU Apple has several new memory options available on the new Macbook Pros it starts off with 18 gigs of unified memory but there are 36 48 96 or 128a options but that will depend on the CPU or the chipset that you are choosing some of these are locked to like the M3 Pro versus the M3 Max Base memory was increased so the last generation started off at 16 gigs and there were 32 64 and 96 gig options available depending on your configuration also to to note the M3 Pro while it has slower memory band that does have a slight increase in the amount of unified memory they can have it now goes all the way up to 36 again before it was only 32 storage has largely remained the same here Apple starts you off at 512 gigs goes all the way up to 8 tab but one thing that has been slightly tweaked for whatever reason is now only the M3 Max can be outfitted with the 8 terab uh storage before you could get an M2 Pro with 8 terab of storage so Apple has now made that a exclusive to the M3 Max version as far as other Hardware changes Apple has improved the screen here Apple has boosted the brightness by 20% and that's not just your Peak brightness for HDR content no that's just for your standard your SDR content so your regular screen as you're looking at it that has been boosted 20% going from 500 nits to 600 that actually matches the studio display so now when you have your MacBook Pro next to Studio display the brightness levels can be this the same for both of those when you're looking at regular SDR content so that's going to be really nice for anyone who has a studio display finally the last change and the one you may care about most for whatever reason apple has a new space black color option Apple says they're using a new finishing process that will actually help cut down on fingerprints which if you have seen the midnight version of the MacBook airs you will know is a great concern so it's very interesting was promising reduced fingerprints on this new space black option of the MacBook Pros uh only the M3 Pro and M3 Max versions can have this but since we're talking about the 16-in it only comes in that silver and space back option there is no longer a space gray for any of the M3 Pro or M3 Max machines so that's it Apple has the new Macbook Pros up available for order now there are links for them down below in the description we've already started collecting deals that we spotted around the internet let me know
