The Perfect Engine: A Car That's Been Well-Maintained and Modified
As I take a closer look at this car, I'm impressed by its engine performance. It has been upgraded with a cold air intake, which suggests that whoever installed it knew what they were doing. The engine itself is a great example of how a well-maintained car can be taken to the next level through modifications. With only 30,000 miles on it, the engine shows no signs of wear and tear, thanks to its perfect fuel trim.
The engine's air-fuel ratios are almost perfectly in check, with only tiny fluctuations from one reading to another. This is a testament to the work done by the previous owner, who clearly understood how to keep their car running smoothly. The fact that there are no trouble codes for the emission system is also a good sign, as it indicates that the car's engine is clean and well-maintained.
One of the most impressive things about this car is its performance. It has a racing clutch, which suggests that it's been modified for track use. And yet, despite its high-performance capabilities, it still idles smoothly and quietly. The maintenance requirements are minimal, with only an oil change needed to keep it running at its best.
However, I do have to say that I'm not a fan of the engine type used in this car. As someone who prefers more traditional engines, I find the boxer design of the Subaru engine to be less desirable. It's also worth noting that the car has a cat-back exhaust system, which suggests that it may not produce the smoothest sounds.
Despite my reservations about the engine type, I have to admit that this car is still a fun little ride to drive. And with its modern engine, it's definitely faster than the original engine used in the car before the upgrade. The drag strip test was impressive, and I'm glad to see that the car can handle high speeds without any issues.
Overall, I think this car is an excellent example of how a well-maintained and modified vehicle can be truly enjoyable to drive. And while it may have had some initial misgivings about buying it, I believe that it was worth every penny. The fact that it still runs like a clock after the upgrade is a testament to the work done by the previous owner.
If you're in the market for a new car and are considering purchasing one of these models, be aware that they can be expensive. The original engine alone cost around $2,000, which may not seem like a lot but when added to the price of the car itself, it adds up quickly. However, if you do decide to purchase one of these cars, I would recommend doing your research and test-driving a few models before making a decision.
In conclusion, this car is an excellent example of how modifications can take a vehicle from good to great. With its perfect engine performance, smooth ride, and fun handling, it's definitely worth considering for anyone in the market for a new set of wheels. Just be sure to do your research and test-drive a few models before making a decision.
As I continue to inspect this car, I notice that there are some signs of wear on the exterior paint job. The clear coat has started to fade in some areas, but it's still a relatively minor issue. It may be worth getting the hood painted at some point, as it's the only part of the body that's been exposed to the elements.
In any case, I'm glad to see that the car is still running smoothly and performing well on the track. With its modern engine and racing clutch, it's definitely a vehicle that can handle high speeds without issue. And while I may have some reservations about the engine type used in this car, I think it's clear that whoever installed the modifications knew what they were doing.
If you're looking for a fun little car to drive and enjoy, this might be the perfect vehicle for you. With its performance capabilities and smooth ride, it's definitely worth considering for anyone who loves cars. Just be sure to do your research and test-drive a few models before making a decision.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enrev up your engin today we got a Scion a guy bought it used in April and unfortunately he got ripped off he had to put another engine but smartly he paid 700 bucks for a used one from a car that was in a highspeed Chase hey good idea you know you get in a big wreck you know the engine was going pretty good and he paid 1,200 bucks to have the guy put in so let's look under the hood these are very good engines now he thought that the guy raced I think the guy did racing around cuz he's got this cold air intake system on it no I'm not really a fan of these cuz you got to tune them right a lot of guys don't know how to tune them right we'll see what the data is when we hook everything up to see how it goes that engine is the main problem with these and since the old engine is gone and it was replaced with a modern one that obviously fit cuz he's driving it around and he hasn't any problem with the newer engine because it it's not the one that had the bad piston rings like the 2.4 L one did if you're ever looking at a scon and you look under the hood well in this case you can't because that sticker's gone who knows what this Hood came off of you find out what size engine it has in it you can use a VIN number and if it's a 2.4 liter pull out the spark plugs if they're all covered with burnt carbon it's an oil burner don't buy the car 2.4 bad to really probably buy one unless they have a certificate from Toyota Toyota did rebuild a few of them free if they have the Toyota certificate that says they rebuil them cuz the only thing wrong was the piston rings you could still drive them forever the problem is as the oil burned you had to keep adding it in and if you don't add it in then the engine blows up right this they don't have that problem so have to think about it now we'll look inside and we can see it's a manual transmission the automatics didn't really have any particular problems but it's a lot more performance oriented and he said the guy originally had some kind of tuner kit in that he had taken out by another mechanic so I'm assuming the guy did race it around he don't have to worry about that because the engine that raced around is in a junkyard now this is a completely different engine and manual transmissions can take a lot if it doesn't grind in the gears when I drive it it's perfectly fine they can take a big beating Toyota as make great manual transmissions they're pretty bullet so before we put the computer on let's give it a crank over he put in an H1 racing clutch they're a little on a noisy side but they work so who cares and as you can hear not the stock exhaust system either it's a 10 see car they do any kind of em missions tusting whatsoever so we don't care now I'm hoping this guy has got himself a good car cuz he's had really bad luck he's an army guy and he's being maded out of that cuz he got injured and he's had his last two cars smashed out under him by people running into him so maybe what do they say third times a charm standal on diagnosis it's reading it already read the VIN it's got the new or 2.5 liter and he just told me you can see inside you mirror there's broken well the Tado a few weeks ago there was half a mile down there it didn't get his car but debris knocked his window out so I guess Small Miracle there you know he could have had two of his cars destroyed by people and a third one by a tornado here we go we can do a topology scan while it's doing it we'll look around there's a nice little sporty cars you know there's a little bit of room in the back seat but it's mainly a ziparound little sports car not that many family people mess with manual transmissions it's held up it's not melted or anything and other than the tornado knocking off the side your mirror okay it's done it's got four trouble cards we'll take a look at them they probably aren't that big of a deal it's got an AC code we'll check it out ambient temperature sensor circuit well you said the AC B called what that is is there's stupid sensors in here to measure the temperature inside and all that blah blah blah so when you set the temperature it's whatever temperature you want to set it down I've tested them out I just get a left cuz if you put it on heat it's heat and if you put it on cold it's cold but a lot of times if you start fiddling and you put it at like 71° it'll put out heat but if you put it at 70° it'll start blowing air conditioning no matter what the temperature is so it blows cold when he want it we'll just leave it at that so we turn the car off and'll eras that stupid thing but it's permanent so it knows we don't care it's also got a code for the ABS traction control system let's see what that is left front speed sensor circuit open or sharded out he said he had that replace recently and there's an engine control system malfunction which is the same thing so let's try something we're going to erase the code and as we see got rid of those codes so either the guy that replace the sensor didn't reset the code or it wasn't the sensor instead it was the wiring or even the main computer these traction control systems are extremely complex and if you get a problem say in the computer module in the wiring all it does is revert to normal non-abs brakes is a manual transmission people that drive them generally know how to drive cars n of the reck he was in were his fault people hit him so we'll see what happens where we R test him but for now what kind of overall shape everything's in by starting the engine and we'll go to the engine data now I do have to say whoever put that cold air intake must have done a pretty good job because it didn't trip any engine codes a lot of times it'll trip running to Rich running to lean stuff like that and it didn't so whoever put that on must have had it programmed correctly this isn't just some kid buying it on Amazon and bolting it on so remember black SC rest B and the their flow sensors good are going through all this data now the shortterm fuel term it isn't really bad 0.78 now it's zero Zero's perfect and 11556 mil on it the engine doesn't and it came out of a wreck that only had 35,000 Mi so it doesn't surprise me that the fuel trim is Practically Perfect the whole time because the engine it's only got 30 something, miles you can see the targeted air fuel ratios almost perfect I mean look 1.0 is perfect so it's off 1 1,000 so you know we really don't care I mean look at it well now it's one this is perfect oh now it's awful little oh it's perfect one should never quibble about 1 1,000 of a percent I mean that's really nothing and even though it's had a lot of stuff ged's got a catback exhaust you can see it's got no trouble codes for the emission system so hey not that it matters in Tennessee the part injector's working fine monitor voltage 13.4 that's fine 12 timing is fine and as you can see it has zero misfires which isn't surprising consider that the used engine only had like 35,000 Mi it's nothing those engines can go three 400,000 Mi now he's got longer legs than me so that's coming up a little bit clutch is a little stiff because hey it's a racing clutch check it out look how smooth this thing idles the maintenance requires on cuz it needs the oil change and the tire pressure monitoring system is never going to work I'm sure half of the sensors don't even have batteries in them anymore the newer little Toyota sports cars are aren't Toyotas they're really Subarus and I don't like Subaru boxer engines I am not a fan they're kind of cheaply made they do not hold up like a Toyota the engine in this thing might go 3 400,000 more miles unless somebody runs into them again and you can hear it's got that catb exhaust but you don't hear something that you don't want to hear it's not backfiring that means it's running perfect whoever set this thing up with that cold air intake they knew what they were doing we're coming toy a little drag strip I'm looking from behind there's nobody behind us we'll come to a stop nobody's there and hey it's a fun little car to drive and of course realize he has more modern engine that not only doesn't have bad piston rings it's also faster this is a fun little car to drive around in even though he got ripped off in the original engine blue hey it's actually better and for what he put into the car Couple Grand something hey he's better off with this this thing might last forever so there we have it it still runs really good sure he kind of got ripped off but he kind of didn't cuz he likes going fast I mean it's a fun little car and I got to say I'm not a cold air intake fan but whoever did this programmed it right cuz it didn't make it rich or lean and it didn't backfire when we went hard so the rest of the paint is good if he wants to get it painted and stuff he can get the hood painted you just pull it off and paint it that's all you don't do it on a car it just bolts off and you can see here the clear Co kind of faded who knows maybe he'll paint the whole thing maybe he won't but running wise it's an excellent vehicle it's not a Subaru I just don't care for those Subaru boxer engines which the little Toyota sports car is now and you know it's a Scion and yeah they don't make Scions anymore s's just Toyota they put a name in I don't know why Toyota did it Toyota had a great name why would you say let's sell cars to people but we won't call them Toyotas we'll call them science Toyota had a good name I could understand if it was Fiat and they said hm let's call them something besides Fiat and then people won't realize they're pieces of crap Fiat everybody knows Toyota's good that was a mistake Toyota lost a lot of money on a deal there are no longer Scion dealers but the same basic cars are still out there you can get parts form it's not like you can't get parts form he got a whole engine and had it put in and now it runs like a clock so just thinking about buying one of these remember what I said if it's an oil burner stay away from it he didn't know and his engine blew up anyways and he's got the new one that doesn't burn oil so it worked out okay in the long run he's still only in the car for peanut money compared to what new ones cost so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos remember to ring that Bell n\n"
