without the wireless air transmitter so basically if you want to see your air displayed on your dive computer you want to get the one with a transmitter otherwise forgo that and just stick with your standard gauges on your tank but personally if I'm already doing as much on a dive computer I kind of want to add on that extra air transmitter so I can see that in one spot and I don't have to go between two different sets of instruments for depth as well as air the entire thing comes in a really nice case keeping everything together including the mount additional zip ties instruction manuals the transmitter the charging cable here and of course the computer itself normally when you're throwing this in the bag in this case is a little bit larger than your standard dive computer box but we don't mind and I like that keeps everything protected in such as being tossed around that with other computers that don't come with such a nice case let's take a look at the part individually with the computer itself kicking things off so this is the scuba probe Galileo Hut it really is a very tiny computer which I guess considering that most or wrist-worn it shouldn't be that surprising that it is so small but it does integrate that screen very nicely attach it to this little mount that will attach to the front of your goggles it'll work with a lot of scuba pro goggles so they also sell a frameless model with it already attached when it is connected it just simply swivels up and down just like that so you can get out of your view if you don't want it there or swivel back down when you need it on the right hand side which this is flipped around it's on the left but on the right hand side there is that small button it is the only control for this which can you press down or long-held and it rotates to move through the different interface items here we have the transmitter so this is going to be the wireless transmitter used for your air it's very easy to set ups and we go into the menu on your scubapro Galileo HUD and keep your tank off for at least 45 seconds bring them near each other and start the pairing process from the settings menu and then turn your air on as long as the air goes from off to on while you're in that pairing mode and you're close together it'll connect up we also have the battery cable the charging cable it works over standard USB and connects easily like this with these contacts that are on the underside this will give you about 20 hours of diving thanks to the Power Save mode that'll go in between so it'll really keep you charged up for pretty much most dive trips but it is such a common cable you know USB nothing in not anything fancy that you should have triggers with you already and it goes right there in at the dive case so you shouldn't be forgetting this at home so we've looked at the different computers we've looked at the different mounts let's see how these work actually connected to a pair of goggles as I mentioned you can connect this to existing goggles but we really like the frameless model the scuba pro has so this comes it's actually already screwed into the frameless mask I like the frameless one because they're just a little bit bigger a little it gives you a little bit more field of view when you're down there diving and it's also really comfortable when we dove with this when we had no issues it was a really nice comfortable mask nice I don't the color is kind of boring just a straight-up black but it works out fine as you can see the computer connects really easily and when you're actually looking through that goggle you see it's just a very small thing and it's not nearly as much in your view as you may feel that it is it also seems like it would be obtrusive kind of being up here or weighted down but this is completely buoyancy neutral when you're underwater you're not gonna feel any extra weight or anything we didn't even feel any extra drag as we were swimming with this it felt very natural and we didn't have any issues at all with it you know this big thing kind of being connected to our goggles a little bit wonky you take off you have to make sure you unscrew it all the way but it is slightly adjustable so you can move it up or down depending on your field of view if you want to get a little bit higher depending on your mask or a little bit lower for us we're just all the way at the bottom and we tighten it down and we're still able to adjust it up and down we're with our dive if you do not want to pick up an extra mask to go along with this just use one of the existing scubapro masks that you may already have basically you just have this little mount here use some pliers and make it adjust correctly and then you run a zip tie through that nose piece there and it secures it down pull it really tight and it is not going anywhere it really is on here good it feels as secure as the one that is screwed onto the other mask it definitely seemed weird that we were just zip tie ms into place but after we got into place and we trimmed everything up it felt fine and just as natural so here is our actual screen recording of what the Galileo hood looks like on your vision except for when you're diving it's a little bit more projected into your path in front of you a little bit and it's not as up-close this is going to be your main screen in the top left hand corner we have our time followed by our date we have our micro bubble level and then what kind of air we're using air nitrox or trimix down below in the far bottom left corner you can see our remaining air 978 psi we have our heading there with a compass also near that bottom top right hand corner we have our current ambient pressure followed by our current altitude we have our battery level on there as well as I said this will work for about 20 hours thinks that batteries saved mode now I'm moving on as we go throughout the interface pressing the button brings up the actual menu you can switch the gas that you're using paint there's a ton of different settings in here really it is a very robust computer so you're not getting shorted in any way just because it's a HUD versus a wrist one computer there is diet planners navigation there's everything you could need you can have three different headings for the navigation set in here if you wanted to the computer itself is very fast as we navigate it through all the menus we never felt that it was lagging or anything as we tried to move through a one press is to select in a long press is to move back at menu it was all very easy to use we didn't have to look through a manual to kind of dig through on how to use anything the only thing that was tricky was doing the pairing with the tank for the first time because we weren't sure on how long mean to leave the air off before we turn it on but otherwise it was very simple as I mentioned this does have Bluetooth mode tune sync all of your dives over to your iOS device can also view those dives here on the watch itself so you can actually see your depth graphs how long you went and move through all of those there are two gigs of storage on here which is diving how is it using a HUD instead of using a wrist warrant or a regulator one on your actual you know octopus there and we really were excited to try this out and the first thing you know is because it is on your mask keeping your mask clear is going to be very important so make sure using defogger something it's not going to obfuscate the display so there's trying to be shown to you right now I have a foggy mask and you can't see your computer and that's gonna be a problem if you can't what if you can't see too if you can't see your computer in general so make sure your mask is going to be clear use default if you have to make sure the mask is scrubbed out before you go ahead and use it but as long as your mask is clear we had no issues team computer and it was really cool it wasn't nearly as kind of polarizing as we thought it would be we thought it'd be more obvious in our display but it's very small and shows about a meter ahead of you and it feels very natural so it's just kind of a glance you look at your surroundings you don't notice it's there but you can quickly glance at it and get your air get your pressure get your depth everything that you need from that computer without having to move your arms grab you know your second stage or anything to pull up any of your dive game you don't have to look at your wrist it was all very nice and out of the way to have to strap in your wrist or forego your nice watch because you want to wear your dive watch that doesn't have everything it just really just personal preference and we haven't doped with a HUD before it had to display while diving in it really is a completely different experience it's a really cool computer we love it and we're definitely going to be going down with it again if we had any change that we'd like to see maybe work with other masks like if there's any other way to develop a universal mount that works with other scubapro masks because we did have our own masks before this that we absolutely loved but really that's gonna be hard for scubapro to do because they can't design for everyone else's masks and they're not necessarily going to want to forego you buying their
