Improvised Tie Rod: A Lesson Learned
As we set out on our adventure, we decided to take matters into our own hands and improvise a tie rod instead of waiting for parts to arrive. We built a junk tie rod, which was supposed to be a temporary solution until the real thing came along. However, things didn't quite go as planned. The makeshift tie rod kinked forward, and we were left wondering if it would hold up under the stresses of the trail.
The Humble Beginnings of a Bad Tie Rod
I remember thinking that our temporary tie rod was the perfect solution. I was convinced that it would be able to withstand the demands of the trail. However, as soon as we started driving, I realized that my assumption was wrong. The tie rod had kinked forward, and I was left struggling to get it back on track. Tom, who had also built a makeshift tie rod, seemed just as frustrated as I was.
A Lesson in Admitting When You're Wrong
As we sat there trying to figure out what to do next, Tom finally admitted that his tie rod wasn't going to work. He told me that he always hated it and had warned me from the start that it was a bad idea. I have to admit that I didn't listen to him at first, but I'm glad he spoke up when he did. It takes a big man to admit when you're wrong, and Tom certainly fits the bill.
Welding Straps to the Tie Rod
With our makeshift tie rod still malfunctioning, we decided to weld some straps to it in an attempt to stabilize it. This was a last-ditch effort to get us back on the trail without having to go all the way back to town for parts. We worked quickly and efficiently, knowing that time was of the essence.
The UPS Delivery
Just as we were finishing up our repairs, the UPS truck arrived with our much-needed parts. We breathed a collective sigh of relief, knowing that we could finally put our makeshift tie rod behind us. The new parts would allow us to build a sturdy and reliable tie rod, one that wouldn't let us down on the trail.
Trial by Fire
With our new parts in hand, we were eager to test our repair job. We headed out onto the trail, determined to see if our makeshift tie rod had taught us a valuable lesson. As we made our way up the mountain, I couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. Would our repairs hold up? Would we be able to tackle the challenging terrain without any issues?
The Chute: A Test of Endurance
We decided to take our buggy on the famous Chute trail, known for its slippery conditions and steep inclines. As we climbed higher, the snow started to fall, making the trail even more treacherous. We were all a bit apprehensive about taking it on, but we knew that we had to be brave if we wanted to make it through.
A Close Call
As we made our way up the mountain, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The traction was poor, and I could feel myself sliding backwards as I tried to push forward. Suddenly, my buggy started to spin out of control, and I knew that I had to act fast if I wanted to regain traction.
A Missed Opportunity
I remember thinking to Rory that he should have spotted me through the turn so we wouldn't have missed it but unfortunately Rory was not in town that day. This experience taught us a valuable lesson about the importance of having a spotter on a challenging trail like this.
The Trail Rating: Two Thumbs Up
As we finished up our repairs and headed back down the mountain, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. We had faced our fears and overcome them, and we emerged victorious on the other side. Our makeshift tie rod may have been a disaster, but it taught us an important lesson about perseverance and adaptability.
The Drive-Trap: A Success Story
I'm happy to report that my drive-trap is now working perfectly I heard it a tiny bit before this rain started coming down we're doing well Tom thinks so does Jamie's all right thanks for calling I told them that I was going to do the shoot but they said "no no no" that's the only way we were gonna know.
The Weather: A Perfect Day
As we looked out at the beautiful scenery, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the perfect day. The sun was shining, and the air was crisp and clean. It was a great time to be outdoors and enjoy nature. Despite our earlier setbacks, we knew that we had made it through a challenging trial and emerged stronger on the other side.
A Day of Failure: A Story of Resilience
As we looked back on our adventure, we realized that it wasn't just about the tie rod or the drive-trap. It was about how we handled ourselves in the face of adversity. We learned to be patient, adaptable, and resilient, qualities that will serve us well on all our future adventures.
