The Art of Creating the Perfect Brownie: A Journey to Salty Sweet Bliss
Who doesn't love brownies? Today, we're going to make one that's extra special with salted caramel and chocolate ganache. Let's get started!
For the base of my brownie, I'm going to start off at the stove melting my ingredients. I have margarine and then just going to turn on the heat getting that melted and then I have also a square baking pan ready to go with parchment to get our brownie batter right in there. Just stir up the margarine until it melts, it's almost fully melted. Now, let's add in our sugar - lots and lots of sugar in a brownie. Vanilla extract next, and dairy-free coconut milk we'll start this on the stove and then we're going to add our dry ingredients off of the heat.
All right so we're nice and mixed up over here and I have a bowl ready to go let's pour the base of our brownie in all. Here's our wet mixture - time to add everything that will really turn this into a brownie and thicken it up. Flour just going to get that mixed in here with a spatula, this is a really rich brownie we're going to add lots of dark cocoa powder right into the mixture and get that all Incorporated.
This is a dessert that is salty and sweet - a really nice balance of flavors to satisfy every palette at your table. As you can see it's getting nice and dark. We're also going to add in baking powder to help with the rise and salt so our baking pan is prepared and ready to go. We'll get everything right in and press the brownie into an even layer. It's cooled down enough to kind of work it through with your hands, definitely the richest brownie that I've had for those cool winter days.
All right let's get this brownie right in the oven - the brownie is baking in the oven and we're going to get our toppings ready to really take this brownie to the next level. We have caramel here that's ready to go, and we're going to make a quick ganache right over a double boiler with our chocolate chips and this is cream of coconut can get them mixing right together - turn up the heat and we're just going to stir this until it's combined.
The brownies all baked and we're going to go back to our ganache, it's combining really nicely and it's going going to be more texture and a really tasty smooth topping on a brownie because you always need a little bit more chocolate - it's nice and heated now. I'm going to finish mixing it up just on the counter top, we're getting all of our ingredients ready to tap off this very special brownie.
We've got a nice smooth Rich chocy ganache here, we have our caramel our salt is time to put this all together before it sets in the fridge before slicing up brownies nice and baked up. I'm going to pour a nice layer of ganache right over the top till the brownie is completely hidden underneath next time to drizzle on caramel all over the ganach to have a really nice salty sweet flavor here - there's um salty sweet here now with every bite.
And we're going to add on course salt at the end before we get this into chill. So let's swirl up our caramel and our ganache before it sets in the fridge and we'll get nice and firm before we cut it up into individual brownies - time to put this brownie right into the fridge, our brownie has been chilling so the weight is over. It's time to take it out of the fridge and see how it came out.
Let's take a look just going to peel off one side here and you can see all the layers that we have to make this no ordinary brownie. Just going to start to cut it up and get through the caramel, get through the ganache straight to the bottom so you have all those layers and all that texture in there. All you need now is just a nice cup of hot chocolate to go with it - just going to keep slicing up my Brownie and getting ready to take a bite.
