$1,000,000 Custom 1965 Ford Mustang

**A 1,000 Horsepower, $1,000,000 Custom Mustang: The Ultimate Resto-Mod Creation**

Welcome to "Seen Through Glass" and a special episode filmed at Auto Topia LA, a car storage facility housing an incredible collection of vehicles. Among the many amazing cars stored here is a 1965 Mustang that has been transformed into a high-performance machine known as the "Vicious Mustang." This car is not just a modified classic—it's a resto-mod, a unique blend of restoration and modern performance enhancements.

The Vicious Mustang is officially classified as a resto-mod, which combines elements of restoration with significant modifications. Unlike traditional restorations that aim to return cars to their original condition, this build took the concept further by incorporating high-end components and advanced engineering. The result is a car that is barely recognizable as a 1965 Mustang. In fact, the only original parts remaining are the A-pillars. Everything else has been completely reimagined and rebuilt.

To discuss this incredible creation, we brought in Sean from Auto Topia LA, an expert on American Pro Touring cars and restomod builds. Sean walked us through the car's features, starting with its foundation: an Art Morrison chassis with an independent rear suspension. This provides a solid base for the custom build. The front clip is sourced from a Corvette, paired with Ridetech triple adjustable coilovers, offering precise tuning capabilities.

The transmission system is equally impressive. It uses a 6-speed sequential gearbox from Emanuali, similar to those found in high-performance vehicles like the Nissan GT3 and Mercedes-AMG GT. What makes this transmission special is its air-shift feature. A small air tank located in the trunk powers the paddle shifters, allowing for aggressive and precise gear changes.

Under the hood lies a supercharged and twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing an astounding 1,000 horsepower. The engine starts with a coyote motor, which was later upgraded to the Voodoo configuration. To handle the extreme power output, the builder opted for a flat-plane crankshaft. The engine is equipped with a Magnuson supercharger upfront and hidden turbos running along each side, cooled by custom fabricated plumbing. These details highlight the builder's focus on functionality over form.

The car's exterior design combines iconic Mustang lines with modern performance enhancements. Features like carbon ceramic brakes require cooling, which is achieved through strategically placed vents. Many enthusiasts initially thought these vents were for the supercharger or turbos, but they serve a purely functional purpose—cooling the brakes during high-performance driving.

The Vicious Mustang is more than just a car; it's a labor of love and a testament to the builder's vision. Chris, the owner, aimed to create his ultimate dream car, pushing boundaries and not sparing any expense. The build took less than 10 months, which is remarkable given the complexity of the project. The attention to detail and high-quality components used in its construction make it a million-dollar machine.

Sean mentioned that while the car was designed primarily as a race car with just 10% street usability, it still manages to look stunning. The combination of classic Mustang styling and modern performance elements creates a unique visual appeal. Even though the car is meant for racing, its presence commands attention wherever it goes.

For those interested in learning more about this incredible build and other amazing cars like it, Sean has his own YouTube channel where he showcases similar projects. We highly recommend checking it out for a deeper dive into the world of restomod builds and high-performance vehicles.

In conclusion, the Vicious Mustang is a marvel of engineering and creativity. It pushes the boundaries of what a classic car can be, blending timeless design with cutting-edge technology. This build not only represents the pinnacle of automotive engineering but also serves as an inspiration to those who dare to dream big in their own projects.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhell I wanna know welcome to seen through glass and welcome back to LA today I'm down at Auto topia LA which is essentially a car storage place you can probably see there's a ton of amazing cars behind me I can't show them all to you because as its cost storage they need to be relatively a secret with some of the stuff that they have here the main thing I want to talk about is this this is the 1,000 horsepower $1,000,000 completely custom timeless customs vicious Mustang now this insane car is officially classed as a resto mod which is essentially a modified restoration the reason I'm experienced you like your all three-year-olds I don't really think in Europe we're doing a lot of this any sort of restorations are kind of nut and bolt things cars being remade - exactly how they were decades before however out here in the US and West Coast America they are modifying their restorations and the Mustang behind me I mean isn't really a Mustang anymore the only original part of the car are the a-pillars everything else is essentially new and when you hear the details about this build I think you're going to be blown away but there's some other amazing ones in here and it's it's a whole culture that I'm super intrigued by because take this idea and move it across to Europe and do it on a pagoda or a little alpha spider and could you imagine the things that we could do with old 60s Italian cars modifying restoration builds it's got to be done anyway as you can tell I'm a little bit naive to this whole culture so to talk us through this car I'm going to bring in Sean from auto Tokyo LA ladies and gentlemen meet Sean down here this place is incredible and this cars even better so yes you are now my scene free blast expert on restomod about American Pro Touring cars deal so please just go talk me through this unbelievable creation absolutely and it is an unbelievable one you know this one Jason the Builder timeless Kustoms just went ballistic on this and the owner of the car kept saying yes yes yes to all the concepts so it you said it earlier but the only I find this fascinating that the only thing left from 1965 on this car is the a-pillars and everything else is within the last few years because the intent of this car although it's a street-legal car the intent was to make it 9/10 race car one tenth Street car and Jason definitely accomplished that so what you have you start the base of the car is an Art Morrison chassis Art Morrison independent rear so you've got a solid foundation to see seven front clip which is from a Corvette Ridetech triple adjustable coilovers so you've got all the adjustment you possibly need that's your platform and then it starts going really crazy from there not like that's not crazy it's the shifting on it I mean the transmission you're taking a 6-speed M Co sequential six Missy sense new a lacing table it's a full racing gearbox and it's the same thing we run in our gt3 Nissan GTR s same exact transmission the Emeco 6-speed sequential how its shifted is what makes it even more extraordinary as it takes air so there's a small air tank in the in the trunk of the car which it makes your paddle shifts work so it's actually air shifting via the paddle so your shifts are really really aggressive I think one of the one of the things that was done on this car that's that's I'm sure there's other cars that have done this I haven't heard of them which is a compound charged car so we started with a with a coyote motor same one that's in the 350 R before they started calling it the Voodoo motor but all the internals on this motor were rebuilt they pulled the flat plane crank out and the reason they did that is because they were gonna push a lot of power through this motor so you have the obvious is the Magnuson supercharger up front but what you don't see and it was one the Builder wanted to be a little secretive a little you know sneaking sneaking to us and so you see these bubbles running down the defenders here which borders on being ugly but it's purpose-built and everything about this car is purpose-built he kept saying the Builder kept saying for a function over form the form is gonna follow the functionality of the car so these bubbles hide the plumbing for turbos that run down each side so this car is not only supercharged but it's also twin-turbo it's just a beam with creation of I mean it's mad that's why I mean the name of this car is perfect it's called vicious Mustang and it's you're gonna see a dude this cars I know you've driven some outrageous stuff this cars a freak show I mean it's a total freak show vehicle it absolute sense like it is also stunning I mean you said function over form but I have to say I love the way it looks because it's still it's still iconic 60s Mustang yeah but it looks modern and it looks powerful just the stance of it yeah sat here now not moving no engine on it looks quick but oh yeah everything you're saying is absolutely crazy in it dude the details keep going I mean weekend you could spend literally an hour on this car just talking through details like like you'll see these these vents here a lot of people thought this might be for the turbos or possibly for the supercharger but it's not you'll see this pipe here that bends I mean the amount of cutting and welding that it took to get this Bend to drop down it cools the front brakes because you got carbon ceramic so you need air hitting those things you know it's kind like a dream build now surely it you know about that was what Chris set out to do was when when he decided to Chris is the owner of the car when Chris decided to kind of for lack of better terms blow the wad on it it was his idea wasn't about spending a million dollars although he did yeah I mean you know that wasn't the intent was to show everybody how much money I can blow on a car his intent was to build his ultimate dream 65 Mustang like I'm gonna make the coolest Mustang on the planet and you mentioned there that this is a 1 million dollar build for people like me her a bit naive to this whole West owe more thing how on earth do we get 2 million dollars I mean obviously there's been absolute genius creativity in the bodywork and the powertrain and everything but you were saying said carbon ceramics those are going to be what 15 greatness rates alone on this car you've got a little over $20,000 in breaks well think about this the man-hours to fabricate everything and produce this car was you got 10,000 hours and actually adding up more but 10,000 hours into this car at 105 bucks an hour adds up but see it was the length of build so I just didn't want me they say how long did this cost you take to mate well that's the kind of crazy part was typically a build of this nature would be a two to three year process they did this car and just shy of 10 months Wow but you know the how do you add up that much money into a car like this you put things like a Nemco transmission in it and not you know that and the controlling for it that was $40,000 to control the the motek system on it what's that another 40k the best of the best stuff right I mean I got resent no expense spared spirit oh well this is absolutely amazing I'm learning so much and I'm completely enamored with this car I think it's stunning but all I can ask now is coming garden it we're gonna go for a ride yes my buzz that might go right Antonio how do you describe this burrito Wow Wow the seating position is the first thing to get used to we're very low very far back you know this massive bonnet reaching out in front of us yeah I like how bear is in here I can see everything that's going on as driving position - it's a pro-rated right hey let's play system roll on we're at 3,800 I've gotta get me one supercharged yeah well your supercharger takes off Oh George about the person and it kicks over to the turbo talk menzies gun yeah I mean the shifts are harsh and that's but that's the cacti you kind of wanted you do manatees because the trip is dude it's a streetcar like jason said initially it is his goal was to make it nine tenths race car one tenth Street car and for me personally that's what do you call those yeah I think I'm almost having a heart attack I'm not entirely sure that was okay so a few weeks ago I drove an Aventador SV and I thought it was one of the most visceral experiences I've had a car and the whole time I was like my heart is beating so fast this dispute on that experience still feel like a like a Ford Fiesta yeah unbelievable thank you so much your work I've enjoyed it I mean it's just this day has been incredible so Shawn actually has his own YouTube channel or Toto PLA is that that sure that's the handle is yeah I'll put a link below but you should check it out because there are some incredible cars in here and he's always doing cool stuff and that's a prime example right who you're making so please go over and check that out again a huge thanks for having me down more than welcome honestly no time you actually dude I promise you will disapprove it the video thumbs up you've enjoyed it then make sure to subscribe for plenty more videos to come\n"
