Adam Savage Talks Comic Con 2016 Experience with Jon Hodgman
Comic Con 2016 was an unforgettable experience for Adam Savage, and he couldn't wait to share his stories with us. As he sat down with Jon Hodgman, they dived into a conversation about their shared passion for Marvel and the art of cosplay.
Modok, a Marvel supervillain, was on the mind of both Adam and Jon as they chatted. "I've been pushing the Hodgman for MODOK campaign for a couple of years," Adam revealed, "so I think I would have to do that." He joked about the logistics of creating his own MODOK costume, saying "my little hands would you ever consider coming to one of the cons in costume and if so what would that costume be?" Jon Hodgman, known for his impressive cosplay skills, was more than happy to offer his support. "I would help you if you were that," he said with a smile.
Adam Savage's love for comics and pop culture is evident as he talked about his recent appearance on John Blazer's new TV show, where he played the role of Curie in an adaptation of the classic manga series. "It was all that floats it is so I had it I had the right bag and I saw the line to get in it's Comic Con," he said, recalling the experience of walking into Comic Con for the first time. He joked about not wanting to get "thrown in comic-con jail" but instead walked in with confidence, like a "full human being." The crowd roared with laughter at his clever anecdote.
As they continued their conversation, Adam Savage revealed that he had an unexpected encounter with Jonathan Ross, Paul Duddridge, and Storm during the con. "Jonathan was going to be here but of course he is," Adam said, "and I ran into him and Paul and they were all so cool." The group also stumbled upon Jean Grae, who was signing copies of her work as part of a Marvel event. "It's amazing how super spy I just was because I happened to have been here yesterday talking on a panel," Adam exclaimed.
The conversation took an interesting turn when Jon Hodgman quipped about the pros and cons of attending Comic Con. "Sometimes you that there's too many shows yeah I don't recognize most yeah I don't know who it was I just went along with it and got the elevator and they let me right on through," Adam said, chuckling about his own experience navigating the con. Jon added his own thoughts on the matter, saying "it's my world show floors my tinnitus." The lighthearted banter between the two continued as they wrapped up their conversation.
Comic Con 2016 was a truly unforgettable experience for Adam Savage, and he credits it with bringing him face-to-face with some of his favorite celebrities and cosplayers. From MODOK to Marvel TV shows, Adam's passion for pop culture is evident throughout our conversation. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this enthusiastic fan and his fellow comic book enthusiasts.
