Emmy Eats United Arab Emirates - tasting Emirati Sweets

My First Taste of Emirati Treats: A Delicious Journey from Little Miss Em

I am thrilled to share with you my first taste of Emirati treats, carefully curated by little Miss Em and shipped all the way from her little museum. This package was a delightful surprise, filled with an assortment of sweets that I had never tried before.

The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful packaging of Anasma, a camel milk chocolate. The surface of the box was slightly fuzzy, which added to its charm. Inside, I found nine chocolates that were wrapped in gold foil. Unfortunately, some of them had melted during shipping, but I was eager to give them a try nonetheless.

As I unwrapped the first chocolate, I was greeted by the enticing aroma of hazelnuts. The texture was slightly crumbly, and I detected a subtle filling made of nougat and hazelnut cream. The milk chocolate on the outside was sweet but not overly so, and the camel milk flavor added a unique twist that I couldn't quite detect. It tasted like a lovely milk chocolate, but with a hint of something more.

The next chocolate had a different color foil, which hinted at its coffee flavor. As I took a bite, I was surprised by the rich, smooth taste of dark chocolate infused with a subtle bitterness from the coffee. This one was definitely a favorite of mine, and I couldn't help but think that it was even better than the hazelnut-flavored chocolate.

The gold-colored chocolate was shrouded in mystery, with only a hint of chocolate aroma. When I finally opened it, I found a pistachio-flavored filling surrounded by a delicate green paste. The saffron and rock salt added a beautiful yellow hue to the chocolate, which looked like a sprinkle of gold dust. As I took a bite, I was struck by the subtle yet distinct flavor of pistachios, which were somehow enhanced by the sweetness of the chocolate.

Next up were some delicious chocolate dates, with eight beautiful dates nestled inside each one. The natural sweetness of the date was perfectly balanced by the richness of the chocolate, and the addition of an almond lens added a delightful crunchiness to the texture. I couldn't help but wonder if this was actually made with camel's milk, as hinted at by Miss Em.

Finally, there were two little candies that looked like they belonged in a Persian bazaar. Wrapped in red, they smelled like condensed milk and tasted like butterscotch. Unfortunately, their origin remained a mystery, but I was too caught up in enjoying them to worry about the details.

Last but not least, I had the pleasure of trying some chocolate candy coins, each wrapped in two halves of blue foil. Despite the texture having changed slightly due to blooming, the flavor was still rich and smooth, with a good amount of chocolatey goodness. It was definitely better quality than some advent calendar chocolates I've had in the past.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to little Miss Em for sending me this package of Emirati treats. It was an absolute delight to try these new flavors, and I'm so grateful for her generosity and thoughtfulness. I hope you guys enjoyed watching me taste-test these goodies, and I'd love to hear from you in the comments below if you've ever tried camel's milk chocolate or other Emirati treats before!
