quite a while since I had not done a realme smartphone review because their offerings recently more specifically the realme 12 Pro and the Pro Plus were quite average so I thought that realme could do with a little change and they came up with this phone uh actually there are two phones the realme P1 and the realme P1 Pro P1 Pro will launch sometime later but today we're talking about the P1 which I expect it to launch for around 15,000 Indian rupees for its 61 128b variant so without wasting any further time let's just get into the unboxing right the phone is here with standard realme packaging the yellow box and everything so I'm just going to keep this here we have a cover we have some paperwork we also have a SIM ejector tool and then the phone all right looks quite nice I like the boxy form factor but these days all the phones have started coming with such kind of boxy F Factor so it's nothing new I like the texture here you can't feel it but I think you can see the little textures here so nice color option besides this you can also get it in green by the way and your choice again this is a plastic bag and uh then we have a 40 5 wat charger and USBC cables to go with it all right so real me claims that the p in PCD stands for performance so let's start with the performance side of things here we get the diamond City 750 chipset which I would say is a very competitive s so in this price segment in this uh price range we usually get the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 or the Snapdragon 695 and the dam City 750 actually has better benchmark scores than both of those chipsets so as I said competitive enough in the 15,000 price segment even in real life usage I found no hiccups no starters at all while using this phone and I am really happy about that I found the gaming performance on the realme P1 to be good enough too and by good enough what I mean is you can get around 60 FPS in pubg playing at smooth graphics and extreme frame rates which is commendable in this price range I did have a little bit of trouble while playing genin impact because it did not run well even at the lowest settings and 30 FPS but it's a budget phone so I will not complain much uh good news is that real me has actually included Vapor chamber cooling system here so while I played pubg for more than an hour this phone did not go beyond 40° but at the same time when I played genin impact for around 30 minutes the temperature here climbed up to 43° so I guess the vapor chamber cooling system does have its limitation but at this price again I am not going to make real me sweat about it also something that I appreciate a lot is it's form factor because this boxy form factor really helps with the grip and playing games on it or using it for longer hours is not a problem uh this design does resemble real me's 12 Pro Series but uh this is not as premium when you hold it since this is a budget phone it's not a glass bag as I said it's a plastic bag but um it's not heavy it's comfortable to use so I do not mind that also there are a little bit of additional perks here like this is an aqua touch display which means that even if your hands are wet there is not going to be any kind of touch response issues here now personally I don't see a lot of instances when this feature could be extremely useful to a lot of people except for two number one if you have extremely sweaty hands and if you use your phone for longer hours this feature might come handy and number two if you have to use your phone while it's raining by the way this phone also has ip54 rating so it can take in minus flashes every now and then even on the front you get minimal bezels here so this phone does not look outdated like phones from some other brands Samsung uh anyways you get a nice quality amulet screen here so this is a 6.67 in amulet screen with a full HD resolution and 120 HZ refresh rate that switches between 60 to 120 HZ depending on what's running on the screen and this is actually a good quality display it has nice contrast and the color reproduction is great too although I have to tell you that this is not a 10bit display it's an 8bit display and it does not have Asia video playback in Netflix but for uh generally using your smartphone or w while watching contents on YouTube this is a great screen I have to say so like with most budget real me phones you also get this Notch that mimics Apple's Dynamic Island uh real calls it mini capsule and it's not as functional as Dynamic Island but it can do a little like few tricks of its own while playing music or while charging the phone so that is there and the toss response on the screen is good as well as you can see no touch issues at all it has 240 hzz of touch sampling rate and the indisplay fingerprint sensor that is here Works fast and accurately as well and lastly this is a bright enough display too it has 2,000 nits of peak brightness uh but it's typical brightness hovers around 600 nits so in indoor conditions visibility is not a problem but with extremely hard sunlight visibility could be a little Bleak so that is something you need to keep in mind but I do appreciate the fact that realme has provided a stereo speaker setup here the speakers here are good enough they're loud but sometimes they can distort at the highest volume so my advice to you is to listen to songs or watch movies at around 80 to 90% volume for the best experience anyway the battery life on the realme P1 is awesome you get a 5,000 Milah battery here and realme's Battery optimization is pretty stiff so I was able to get around 7 hours of screen on time with my kind of usage which involves a lot of um clicking photos a lot of social media and also gaming every now and then um as I showed before you get a 45 W charger inside the Box which takes the realme P1 from 0 to 100% in around 1 hour and 30 minutes on the software side of things you get Android 14 here out of the box with real me UI 5.0 and I am pretty used to using realme phone so it did not take me a lot of time to uh you know get along with this phone realme UI is pretty easy to get along with but there are a few things in realme's UI that absolutely suck and one of the things definitely has to be the bloatware the sheer number of bloatware apps that you get on this phone is ridiculous so whenever I boot up a real me phone the first thing I do is disable or uninstall all the bloww apps and also when you do this to access the app this uh keyboard pops up which I don't like so I just go to the settings and make a few changes here in there before using a realme phone and I would recommend you do so as well uh but anyways the good thing is that realme has promised 2 years of software and 3 years of security updates on this phone which is commendable for a budget phone it's not as good as what Samsung provides but this is good enough for a realme 4one and here you also get nine 5G bands in total so that's nice all right let's talk about the cameras and in my opinion cameras are the weakest point of the realme P1 you get a dual camera setup here consisting of a 50 megapixel primary and a 2 megapixel almost useless black and white sensor and uh why do I say it's the weakest aspect is because you need really good lighting to get uh good images from the realm P1 especially if you're taking pictures of human subjects even if the lighting is just a little bit messy you are not going to get a good image from the back cameras as well as the front cameras so I think it's really weak in that aspect but when you're in good lighting conditions you can get a few good images from the realme P1 that has really nice and Punchy colors nighttime images from this phone are nothing extra either you don't have ois here so sometimes the images can come off a bit shaky uh if you turn on the night mode you can get good exposure and decent details but again the nighttime performance on this phone is nothing extra as I said uh videography is also quite average you can shoot 4K 30 FPS videos from the rear camera but they come out extremely shaky and from the front camera you can shoot up to 1080p 30 FPS and again the output is shaky and nothing to write home about so if you want better camera performance at this similar price range you can consider going with the Naro 70 Pro or the realme P1 Pro that come with a Sony sensor and there you will get a better camera experience so overall I think the real stands in the good category phone for around 15,000 rupees in India this phone actually delivers in almost all the aspects except for the cameras the cameras are very average here so I really wish its cameras get a few updates in the future and I'm hopeful for that because real me did push a lot of updates for the realme 12 Pro and the realme 12 Pro Plus and uh later the optimization became very good on those phones so I'm hopeful for that um but overall I think this is a decent phone for around 15,000
