The Future of Power: Apple's $6,000 Mac Pro Review
As I stared at the six thousand dollar machine, I couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of what we can expect from this beast of a computer. One terabyte of RAM is like something out of science fiction - I didn't know we were at that age yet. But with Apple's latest creation, the Mac Pro, it seems that the future is now. With 256 gigabytes of storage being thrown around as an afterthought, I couldn't help but laugh. What happened to 512 gigabytes? The price is still steep, and it's hard not to wonder what Apple was thinking when they decided on such a small amount of storage.
But let's move on from the storage debate and talk about the display - the pro display XDR. It sounds amazing on paper: 6k Retina display, 32 inches, and all that jazz. But what really caught my attention was the price tag. $5,000 for just the display? That's a lot of money, especially when you consider that it doesn't come with a stand. And if you want to get the stand, well, that'll be an additional $1,000. I mean, Apple, how about we start with the display and throw in the stand for good measure? It seems like there's a catch every time.
Speaking of catches, let's talk about the price of this entire setup. The Mac Pro comes with a price tag of around $12,000 when you factor in the cost of the display. That's a lot of money, especially for something that's just sitting on your desk. But I have to admit, it looks impressive. It's like something out of a sci-fi movie - a real-life cheese grater or trash can that Apple has cleverly disguised as a professional computer.
But what really matters is who this machine is for. Is it for the average Joe? No way. This machine is for the professionals - the filmmakers, the video editors, the people who need top-of-the-line power to get their work done. And if you're one of those people, then the Mac Pro might be just what you need.
I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical when I first heard about Apple's decision to bring back the Mac Pro. The design didn't exactly win me over - it looked like a cheese grater or trash can that had been repurposed as a computer. But at least Apple gave us an option to configure everything we want on there, which is more than I can say for some other computers out there.
In conclusion, the Mac Pro is a beast of a machine that's sure to impress anyone who sees it. With its 6k Retina display and top-of-the-line power, it's like something out of a sci-fi movie. But at a price tag of $12,000, it's not exactly within reach for the average person. Still, if you're a professional who needs the best, then the Mac Pro might be just what you need.
But let's talk about color options - or lack thereof. The Mac Pro comes in only one color: silver. I mean, come on Apple, can't we get some variety? Maybe something to make this machine stand out from the crowd? But nope, it seems like that's not an option. And besides, who needs a space gray option when you have the all-during power of the Mac Pro?
In any case, I'm happy that Apple brought back the Mac Pro. It shows that they still care about the professional market, even if it means charging an arm and leg for it. So to all the filmmakers, video editors, and professionals out there, keep in mind that this machine is available to you. And who knows, maybe one day it'll be within reach of the average person. But until then, it's a beast of a machine that's sure to turn heads.
Shoutouts to Apple for bringing back the Mac Pro. It may not be perfect, but it's definitely an impressive machine. And hey, at least it doesn't come with a space gray option - that would've been nice.
