2017 END OF YEAR READING SURVEY!!!

**Reading Experience 2017**

In 2017, I embarked on a journey to read numerous books that would shape my reading experience. The world itself was a significant aspect of many of these books, with authors like Stephenie Garber crafting immersive worlds that captivated me. However, there were instances where the world-building didn't quite resonate with me.

**Favorite Books**

On the other hand, some books managed to put a smile on my face and transport me to different realms. One such book was "Love & Lies" by Casey Wes, which I found to be an absolute delight. The author's writing style made it impossible for me not to laugh out loud, and the story was engaging and well-paced. Another favorite of mine was "The Names You Give Us" by Emory Lord, which touched my heart in ways I never expected.

**Books that Made Me Cry**

Unfortunately, there were several books that made me cry, often unexpectedly. Authors like Patrick Ness, Robin Ben, and Maggie Stiefvater had a profound impact on me, their stories evoking strong emotions within me. "A Monster Calls" by Patrick Ness was one of those books that truly crushed my soul. The writing was poignant, the characters relatable, and the story hauntingly beautiful.

**Most Unique Book**

When it comes to uniqueness, I'd like to highlight "Illuminate" by Emery Lord. This mixed-media book features a unique format with no actual dialogue in between, relying instead on texts and other formats to tell its story. The result is an engaging and thought-provoking read that's unlike anything else out there.

**Books that Made Me Angry**

While not all books evoke strong emotions, some do leave me feeling angry or disappointed. "The Crooked Saints" by Maggie Stiefvater was one such book that made me feel quite mad. I was expecting a different story from the author and didn't love the ending as much as I had hoped for.

**Reading Challenges**

As for reading challenges, I set a goal of reading between 35 to 40 books in 2017. However, I ended up reading an impressive 103 books instead! While this was certainly a challenging feat, it also allowed me to discover new authors and read more than I ever thought possible.

**Most Anticipated Releases**

When it comes to 2018 releases, there are several titles that have piqued my interest. One of the most anticipated is "Vengeful" by V.E. Schwab, which promises to be a thrilling addition to her Shades of Magic series. Another highly anticipated release is the final book in the Throne of Glass series, as well as the sequel to "Warcross".

**Post-Release Reviewing**

One area I'd like to improve on in 2018 is posting more reviews. While I've been fairly consistent with my blog posts, I feel that I can do better. My goal for 2018 is to ensure that I read at least eight books per month and post thorough, detailed reviews of those titles.

**Reading Schedule**

In terms of reading schedule, I have a few books on my shelf waiting to be devoured. Unfortunately, these books are from the upcoming year, which means they won't get the attention they deserve until 2018.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone today I'm here to do my 2017 reading survey so what this is is every year Jamie over at the Metro page-turner which is a blog which I'll link down below like four pages worth and link her original blog post down below if you're interested in doing this survey every gonna check her out I love her she's a great person so let's get into the survey because there's a lot of questions also my books are literally scattered off to the place so this is gonna be fun too so the first one is just stats and this is the number of books you read I read a hundred and three books and dozens Oh Dean don't ask me how number of rereads I think I read reread - I want to say I reread a couple of the Harry Potter books I listened to them and the last stat is genre read the most from this year it was definitely contemporary coming in with fantasy at second so the first question is the hardest one on the bunch honestly and then is the best book you read in 2017 and looking back on 2017 I don't know how I'm gonna like but there is this is really hard to comprise because there's a lot of books I love but I don't know if there's one in particular that is my sole favorite so I'm gonna show you three of them because we don't know where they're at the range of my favorites you don't know first one is the darker shade of magic trilogy by the Schwab obsessed with this series another favorite I had this year was renegades by Marissa Meyer and another favorite as well is tower of John by Sarah J Maas so those are just three of my favorites because
