TIER RANKING_ ALL THE THRILLERS IVE READ

**My Thriller Tier List**

As I sit down to record this video, I must admit that I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of thriller books on my shelf. Over the past couple of years, I've read an impressive amount of thrillers, ranging from mind-bending page-turners to slow-burning mysteries. In this video, I'll be sharing my thoughts on some of these books and categorizing them into three tiers: Amazing, Meh, and Solid.

**The Amazing Tier**

One book that stands out in my mind is Lisa Jewell's "The Night She Disappeared". While it wasn't a complete failure, I felt that it fell short of its full potential. The plot was engaging, but the twist came across as somewhat predictable. Another book that almost made the cut for this tier is Cole St. James' "Cole Cases" series. Simon St. James is one of my favorite authors, and her books are always so close to being amazing, but unfortunately, not quite there.

**The Meh Tier**

For me, some thrillers just don't quite live up to their full potential. A prime example is Lisa Jewell's "The House Across the Lake". I found it to be a complete bore, with a plot that was slow and unengaging. Another book that falls into this category is Kirsten Hubbard's "Before I Go to Sleep", which I just couldn't seem to get excited about despite its intriguing premise. And then there's Sharon Shaw's "A History of Us", which was okay but ultimately failed to leave a lasting impression on me.

**The Solid Tier**

While some thrillers may have fallen short in my opinion, others have consistently impressed me with their engaging plots and well-developed characters. One book that comes to mind is Paula Hawkins' "Into the Water". This one was a real page-turner for me, with a complex and suspenseful plot that kept me guessing until the very end. Another solid thriller that I enjoyed was Tess Gerritsen's "Die Again", which had all the ingredients of a classic whodunit.

**Other Notable Mentions**

There are a few books that didn't quite fit into any of the three tiers, but still deserve mention. For example, I recently re-read Alex Hardy's "The Night Shift" and was surprised to find that it wasn't as bad as I remembered. It had some great moments, but ultimately fell short of its full potential. Similarly, Finley Donovan's "Dead" was a bit of a letdown for me, despite being the sequel to a book that I really enjoyed.

**The Final Word**

Overall, my thriller tier list reflects my personal reading preferences and biases. While I enjoy many types of thrillers, some books are just not up to par in my opinion. That being said, I still think there's something for everyone when it comes to the genre, and I'm always excited to discover new authors and books that will keep me on the edge of my seat.

**A Special Mention**

I want to give a special mention to Lisa Jewell's "The Southern Book Club Guide to Slaying Vampires", which was unfortunately missing from my initial list. This book had all the makings of a great thriller, but somehow didn't quite come together for me. Despite this, I still think it has potential and would recommend it to fans of the genre.

**The Verdict**

And there you have it – my thrilling tier list! While some books may have fallen short in my opinion, others have consistently impressed me with their engaging plots and well-developed characters. If you're a fan of thrillers, I hope you'll find something on this list to enjoy. And if not, don't worry – there are plenty of other great books out there waiting to be discovered.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone and welcome to another tier ranking video i have done a lot of these lately done one for all my 2021 um books i've read i've done one for all of the shows i've completed i've done one of my old favorites like books i loved like seven eight nine years ago um and now here i am doing one of all of the thriller books i've ever read so there's a lot of books so just to be forewarned there i counted them in my folder there's 81 i've read so far in my like lifetime of reading thrillers and horror there's been 81 books which is pretty good i've started them i would say over the past like five no not that i would say like yeah it's been about five years maybe since i've started reading them so i felt really good with that but i thought today i would do a tier ranking video putting them all in categories there we go as you can see my two ranking list i have five categories as usual the first step is thriller rific i don't know why i put that i just did it's just like a five of the five thriller for me it's one of my favorite photos of all time i love it i'm obsessed about it you know not much else to be said then we have so close to amazing this is like where it was four like maybe like four to four and a half stars that i was just so close to being like everything for me but it wasn't quite there but i still really really enjoy it then we have solid thrills this is just kind of a middle of the road thriller for me i didn't hate it nor did i love it it was just like it was a solid one you know it was good that's what i could say it as that's why it's solid thrills good thrills you know it was good and then we have met this is like my two stars pretty much where it wasn't that great i don't really remember a lot about it didn't love it you know nor did i like truly hate it i just did not like it and then we have never ever again and usually i don't put a lot of books in this last category because i don't like doing that but i know for a fact there's gonna be a lot for this one because there have been thrillers in particular that i have read that i have low so these are pretty much where those are gonna go so like i said there's like 81 books so let's get into it i don't want this to be a forever long video she says before she even edits or films this we'll see first up these are no particular order obviously this is whatever they decide to upload we have the good girl by mary kabico is this the first american biker book i've read i don't know i don't remember a ton about it i will say that but i do remember enjoying it so i'm gonna put it in solid throws i'm pretty sure i gave it like a three i couldn't tell you what it's about at all though but uh there's that and then we have one this is like one of the first thrillers i read i would say it's called the silent sister by a diane chamberlain meh i don't hate it but i don't remember literally anything about it like the good girl i can pretty much like i can get a vague remembrance of the real word you know what i mean from that the silent sister no freaking so that's why it's going there you by carolyn kapnis thrillerific i love you stand by you to this day it is for my favorite thrillers i listen to it on audio which i highly recommend doing this is coming from someone that does not listen to a ton of audio books so i feel like when i say this don't i people you know go for it because i don't listen to them a ton but this one is truly made for um uh audiobook and i will say also this is made into a netflix show if you like the show still read the book the book is a lot better as you know most source materials are but you is just a great book the kind worth killing by peter swanson this i read this this year in fact i read this like a couple months ago i put it in thought thrills i didn't love it as much as everyone else did like if when you hear about peter swanson everyone talks about the kind worth killing that's like his everyone's favorite a favorite of books by him for me i didn't love it i didn't hate it it was just kind of like a middle of the road one you know it was it was okay the girl on the train by paula hawkins fun fact this was my first thriller i ever read i was very skeptical of marine thrillers because i'm a scaredy cat i still am but i'm really expanding my boundaries in fact my husband said the other day he's like i don't even know who you are anymore like because you're reading like horror books and other things and i'm just like i guess i'm ex growing and not being as scared a ton i don't know but i think i'll always be a scaredy cat but either way the girl that trained my paul hawkins was my first thriller read which is why it's gonna go to so close to amazing because i just have fond memories of it is a great book you know it's okay i feel like the ending is pretty predictable i've still yet to watch the movie i don't know if i ever will but i just have such a good place for it in my heart because it was the first thriller i ever read and it brought me into the world of thriller reads here we begin my ruth ware journey so if you don't know ruth ware is a very popular solar writer i have read the majority of her books i don't love any of them i in fact i will say this is gonna be the first and never ever again i loathe in a dark dark wood in particular the characters the characters are horrible a lot of times the thrillers if i read books where they're so unlikable characters and they're not written well i do not care what happens to them and that was the exact case with this book i do not like it it's probably my least favorite bruce wearable honestly i just i don't like it um he will be my room by k.a tucker this is like a romance suspense novel i'm going to put it in math i've read k tucker's book before i think i really love her romance books but i don't love the thrilling aspect of this one it was like okay oh another mary kamika book don't you cry i don't remember a single thing about this one that's why it's going to go mad this is going to be hard to do because some of these i still remember a lot about and some of them i have no clue and that's exactly the case of don't you cry mary biko i can't figure out which one i liked more good girl or don't you cry i want to say i gave them both a three out of five i think i don't know woman in cabin 10 by ruth ware i actually do not hate this book i would probably put it in solid thrills i know shocking for like ruth ware for me i did enjoy this book i thought it was very interesting in the fact that it took place like on a cruise ship and it was a very tiny cruise ship so it was very like secluded and like i felt claustrophobic almost while reading it because i'm like this girl cannot escape and there's murderers on this boat like what are you gonna do but i enjoyed it it's one of those roof swears that i actually do like so there's that hidden bodies by carolyn kapnis this is the sequel to you and it is horrible when they they like i said you became a tv show i was very interested to see what they were going to do with the second season because i read the second book hidden bodies and i loved it so much i'm like i don't know what they're gonna do um and they changed it a lot and i thought for the better because the book was so horrible that's just me all this is just my opinion obviously i don't like talking bad about books but i do not love that book at all and it is the reason why i refused to read the third book that came out called you love me i don't see a need for it i really wish it just stayed like the show i'm okay with continuing because they really went off kilter like off from the books but the books i just really wish it stopped at you that would have been great so that's my opinion final course by riley sager my first realized sacred book i did really enjoy this it was so close to amazing for me i know a lot of people are on the fence about riley sacred books with me as well there's some that i love by him and there's some that are like uh this one was a good one i really remember enjoying it a time it was the first kind of foray into a book about final girl as the final last girl and i've read a few since then but i do really enjoy it another ruth ware book the lion game meh i don't remember much about this one other than was this the one that had like a great atmosphere like they were like on an island or something i think i don't know don't know much about it i mean if you're here to like hear me talk amazing about ruth weir i'm sorry you're at the wrong video i've given up on her books into the water for paul hawkins again meh i was really looking forward to um a book another book by her since i love the girl on the train this one sadly was just let me down couldn't tell you what happened didn't enjoy it then we have a stranger in the house this by cheryl pena i did really enjoy this one actually i would put a solid throws i did not expect the ending i don't think any of us if you've read the book could not see where the ending was coming from like i think it was like what it was a very bizarre ending but it kept me guessing i'll tell you that didn't see it coming for miles but i enjoyed it i think it's my first cherie lepenia book the last miss parish never ever again who is this by liz constantine maybe i don't remember i don't i remember not enjoying it it was like i think about a wife replacing another wife it was just boring much like why she told i don't remember hating this one but i'll put it in matt i believe this is like an author that was writing a thriller book and she started to get confused about um what was actually in her book versus real life and it sounded really cool but sadly the execution was not there for me kill creek ah i mean i didn't put it in 5x5 but i'll put it in through the river i think this was the first horror book i've ever read it was interesting i would really love to see this being made into a movie it's about five thriller authors that get invited this interview at this like old haunted house they have to spend the night there and then you get to see what happens in them after they spend the night how this house has affected them in each ways and the first half of the book's kind of slow but the second half whoa like it was my first introduction into thrillers and i did really enjoy it the wife between us by gruyere hendrix and sarah peckinen saw thrills was my first read by them and still my favorite by them i did really enjoy it i think the twist in this there's a couple twists were very obvious but i still like them every other book i've read by them i haven't enjoyed it so it might be time for me to hang my hat up on them and just kind of move on sometimes i lied about alex feeney again i'm putting solid thrills i did enjoy it i didn't love it but the ending was very interesting i still don't understand the ending to this day i know but it was it was pretty good woman in the window by a.g finn i did not like it i know a lot of people love this book this is such a polarizing book you're either going to love or hate it i don't think a lot of people would put it inside through this it's either going to be in thrillerific or never ever again for you for me obviously you can see where it is i did not enjoy it at all have not watched the adaptation probably will never watch the adaptation moving on things that i could tell by i think this is by jessica strasser i don't know anything about it i don't hate it though so a little bit meh i'm trying to go through these quickly because as you can see we got a lot left um the chalk man by cj tudor this was solid it was interesting i'll say that um it was kind of creepy as well um but i enjoyed it the broken girl by simone st james so close to amazing i really have come to love simone st james i believe i've read three of her books now writes a lot of dual timelines in her book where one will be currently and one will be in the past and this one is exactly like that so i really enjoyed it you have karen slaughter pieces of her the only thriller i've read by karen slaughter and i'm gonna put it so close to amazing i really enjoyed it this is the only karen slaughter book i've read because she writes really i've heard really intense very kind of graphic thriller books did i like the show because i did watch the show no i did not like the show at all i know there's a sequel coming out to this book next month so i plan to read it jar of hearts by jennifer hiller loved it it was dark it was creepy i really liked it i read this recently and really enjoyed it the death of mrs west way by ruth ware i'm gonna put it in meh and the reason i'm not putting it never ever again because the um ruth ware really can write some atmospheric books like she is good about settings this one was kind of set in a gothic manner i remember that it was about this girl that um got a letter saying that she um is part of a family she could inherit you know what i'm going to move to solid because i actually do remember a lot about it and i do enjoy it i did not love the ending as much but the setting the overall plot i did enjoy so i'm going to put it in that one something in the water by catherine said i oh my gosh i love this book this is a book that i thought like the cover it looks like oh what a perfect summer thriller it's about a couple that gets married and they go like on their honeymoon to like this like exotic place and then they find this item and then they make every wrong decision possible like oh they were so stupid like that's why the books i'm like you could have solved all these problems by just not doing x y and z and you know none of this would happen but did they no um watching you by lisa jewell another author i have a love hate relationship there's been a couple books by hers that i really enjoyed and there's been some that haven't this one i actually think is one of my favorites of hers so i'm going to put in solid thrills i did really enjoy it i don't remember a time about it um last time i lied about riley sager this is not one of my favorites by him which is you know polarizing or the unpopular opinion i should say because a lot of people love this one it's set in a summer camp it's actually a great book to read for the summer but i just didn't love it as much as i wanted to maybe i need to reread it i want to guess by sharia la pena again i'm gonna put it in solid thrills i didn't love it um she's this was kind of like a agatha christie ass novel where it's set in the snow or in the snow in the winter and there's a snowstorm it's all about the um this murder that happens at this hotel or like a bed and breakfast and you have to guess who it is i liked it the setting was really good my lovely wife my samantha downing thrillerific like i think this might have been my first after you i should say my first five out of five thriller read i loved it it's basically about a married couple that decides hey you know we're bored our kids are grown let's murder some people there's your tagline an anonymous girl by greer hinters and sarah peckingham meh i didn't hate it wasn't good did enjoy it couldn't tell you a single thing about it the one by john mars thrillerific i love it this one is it's classified as a thriller but just bear with me here it almost reads like a soap opera you have so many characters and it's about like this dna test that can determine who your soulmate is and you follow a slew of people there's also a serial killer in the mix and it was so addicting it is long don't let that dodge you it reads very quickly i loved it so it's kind of got that soap operas to it but it's still classified as a thriller so here we are the silent patient by alice by alex i forget the last name this is one people loved i think it even won the goodreads award for me it was meh i didn't hate it didn't like love it it was just kind of like i didn't think it was that great to take part by lucy foley i is one of my least favorite thrillers of all time like you want to talk about some unlikable characters that you do not care about this is that book this book i could not care less about the characters that's yeah that's how it is moving on the escape room by megan who's this by megan golden i did enjoy this one it kind of inspired um i think the movies i have not watched them i don't think they're anywhere like the book at all but i think it kind of inspired them not really maybe like every doorway riley sager this is one of my least favorite riley sager books and this is another one that people love this and i think the reason why i tell people that i don't love it is because the big twist that happens it was very much like a show that i was currently watching like and they had the same like almost exact twist and i was like what that is so bizarre and so i think that kind of muddled my feelings for it so i don't know if that has a lot to do with it it does i think it does but if i wasn't watching that show which i don't watch the show anymore um spoiler warning it's riverdale which season it is i'll never tell you but i don't watch it anymore but i think that kind of messed up my rating for that the whisper man crap was the spy forget the author's name i don't know do i remember liking it or not it was kind of meh for me i didn't love it um so i'm gonna put it there the turn of the keyboard with where never ever again this is some people's favorite ruth ware book it's a um adaptation is the turn of the screw i think i could be hundred percent wrong i didn't like it i didn't i didn't um the family upstairs i think this is also at least the jewel meh was not a really good one couldn't tell you what it's about and then it was family upstairs i don't know um the wise by tyrion fisher oh my gosh i love this i thought this was so interesting because it sounded like a polygamy thriller where it was a guy that had multiple wives they use this one trope for explaining why a person does certain things and i hate that trope so much so they did it and i hated that so you know by sharing the pina this is when we put met i don't remember anything about this one with the other share of the penas i could remember what they were about this one i do not his and hers by alice feeny again i'm gonna put meh i don't remember much about this one either um a lot of people love this one i don't remember like crazy fond feelings over it so it's gonna go there so i'm going quick we still have three whole freaking roasts the sundown motel so close to amazing another simone st james books that i really enjoyed went like a spooky kind of hotel atmospheric book this is great for lisa unger's confession on the 745 i have no recollection of this whatsoever i think i got on netgalley don't know anything about it the end of her by sheryl opinion again another book i have no clue what it's about here's the thing i share the opinion i do enjoy them but at the end of the book i'm either going to remember a lot about it or i don't and these the last two i put on here i have no clue what they were about at all so there's my reasoning in my dreams i hold a knife thrillerific love it one of my favorite thrillers from red this is a book about unlikable characters which obviously you can tell by now you think i would hate because i'm not obviously like that but it was written so well that i loved it so i think it's all about how you rate it lisa jewell invisible girl again meh i mean i think lisa jewell i'm gonna have to like say goodbye to her soon because this is not working out for me much like someone's listening by sarah fina nova glass couldn't tell you anything about it again it was another neck galley book don't remember it home before dark by riley sager my favorite riley saver book if you're looking for a haunted house book check it out like i love it some people don't like it i love it one i wearing my wristwear never ever again this was my last ruth ware book that i read that i decided to be like i am done and again again great setting very agatha christie's where it's kind of in the winter they're stuck in this cabin there's a murder you only have a selected number of people so it's got to be one of them but again unlikable characters that i could care less about she does so good with that that at the end of the book you like i don't even care that's exactly what this one was um the night swim with megan golden love this one if you're looking for a great summer thriller that's about podcast check this one out you'll really enjoy it i think the wife who knew too much i think by michelle campbell didn't love it i remember about it but i didn't love it samantha downes he started it so close to amazing it's about siblings that are on a road trip and the ending is like it's like a wtf-15 you're like what it came out of left field you didn't know what happened but i enjoyed it a ton um the guest list by lucy foley i love it this is one that a lot of people i thought a lot of people loved but the worst time goes on people are like why people love this book so much i still love it for your own good by samantha downing i remember not enjoying this this one you figure out the villain early on in the book and you kind of follow their trajectory and it sounded interesting and it's set in a private school and again it was unlikable characters that i did not care anything about so i don't know i just didn't really love it girl from little hills i have a lot of meh i'm feeling really bad about this this is one that i was so excited to read it's about a girl that kind of survives like as she's like a traumatic thing that happens to her when she's like a baby and it sounded like amazing and she's an adult and things are happening again but the ending was such a lame payoff i was like oh this could have been so good but it wasn't much like if i disappear i'm actually going to put this one in there or never ever again i again this is another one that sounded really good but the execution was horrible every last fear by alex finlay i'm gonna put it inside the rules it was okay finley donovan is killing it i'm gonna put it in through horrific i really enjoyed it if you want like a satiri thriller book this is perfect for you especially if you're like 18 and thrillers but you're really scared this is a great one to get started with what lies between us by john mars meh i did not enjoy this one as much honestly because it's so depressing like it is depressing on depressing like i did not enjoy it um so mexican gothic i'm gonna put in solid thrills i think i would i wanted to put in so close to amazing but as time goes on i learned that it was okay it wasn't amazing or not the setting i think really takes the place in this like takes the cake for this book so there's that um that's on the nail bag at the christie so close to amazing this is my second agatha christie book i loved it can you read more local women missing by american bika put a put in solid it was a good one it wasn't i don't know which one was my favorite american pika book might be this one actually the maid by um neeta pros i believe i'm gonna put again in solid this is another one in case you're like um wanting to get thrillers this is a really easy one not too scary one kind of a locked door mystery one if you will it was good the hot ticket beatrix screen this is solid i'd this was like three short stories in one if i'm not mistaken i do really enjoy it it was set like in the gothic era in a very haunted house i thought it was really fun i haven't heard a lot of people talk about it but i liked it survive the night by riley sager this is when a lot of people hate this one i don't i'm gonna put it in solid it was not i didn't love it but i didn't loathe it so i'm putting it right there in the middle um i liked it it was set in the 90s about the squirrel that kind of gets in the car with maybe a killer there you go um i'm sorry i'm moving fast because i realize that this video is getting really long final girl support group again solid this is one that a lot of people load this is by brady hendricks i liked it i thought it was good it was real is it over the top yes but i think it was meant to be like that but that's just me um and as i'm seeing this now i do not see his other book um the southern book club guide to slaying vampires that should be in here imagine it is and imagine i'm putting it in so close to amazing so there's the two great hendrix books i've read let's just picture that um then we have these lisa duels the night she disappeared it wasn't that great i think i need to be done with lisa joel and the last thing he told me about laura dave this is not a mystery book it is really not but it's marketed and labeled as that i've said my feelings time and time again about this book hi by um kirsten white it was okay i'm gonna put it in solid i really wish it could have been more it's a horror book but i wanted so much more of it it's about a game of hide and seek with deadly consequences and it could have been so good if they would have went a different route but they didn't it wasn't as suspenseful as i think it should have been and that's coming from somebody like me that gets scared easily so take without what you will share the opinion not a happy family this was math for me honestly this it's about a family where like the mom dies and you think one of the family members did it it was okay it wasn't a great history of all places by sharon shaw solid this one is like can i do this if you want a book kind of similar to the village by m night shyamalan check out this book a flicker in the dark this was actually my first thriller i read was it this year no it wasn't this year it was last year meh this one again was so interesting it's about like a father serial killer and you could see the twist coming from five miles away dead silence by essay barnes i'm gonna put it in solid i i wanted to love this one more it's a sci-fi horror and the first half was amazing it was like five out of five for me i was getting so excited then the second half came and it was just like meh so that's why i'm putting it in solid because if i kind of combine those two like i would give the first half a five out of five in the second half like a two and a half we're going to split it at like a three so there you go the night shift by alex family again i'm gonna put it in solid it was okay this one again had so much potential but sadly fell short for me um likewise i'm gonna put finley donovan oxen dead i did not enjoy it nearly as much as um her first book um i don't think it really needed to be a sequel to be honest with you i think it could have been it could have just been a one and done story like it doesn't need more added on to it but it wasn't horrible but it just wasn't amazing cole cases by simon st james again so close so close to amazing i've put all of her books on here i really enjoy them if you can't tell the house across the lake where i sticker meh i did not enjoy this at all like it was so boring that's just how it is for me um and then we have before i go to sleep again met is this i feel like i'm missing some i tried to download them all from goodreads but maybe i didn't so there you have my thriller tier list obviously i'm missing some the one i noticed from particular was um the southern book club guide to slaying vampires and i'm probably missing a couple more but i've got the majority of them on there but i wanted to film this so you could see a really big sense of books that i've loved and books that i haven't loved obviously you can tell from this list that the majority of the thrillers i read are kind of in the meh solid thrills category majority of them being kind of meh so i don't know i still really enjoy thrillers but i've noticed now over the past couple years i've been more selective about picking ones because as you can tell i've read a lot that are kind of the meh genre so i don't know i just want to share this with you to show you the kind of scope of the thriller books i enjoy i hope you enjoy this tear raking video a lot of you guys have been asking for this particular one i hope you enjoyed it and if you want any more in the future please let me know because i always love doing these videos they're very fun they're time-consuming because i talk even more than i usually do but still regardless they are fun as always thank you so much for watching and i will see you in my next video byehello everyone and welcome to another tier ranking video i have done a lot of these lately done one for all my 2021 um books i've read i've done one for all of the shows i've completed i've done one of my old favorites like books i loved like seven eight nine years ago um and now here i am doing one of all of the thriller books i've ever read so there's a lot of books so just to be forewarned there i counted them in my folder there's 81 i've read so far in my like lifetime of reading thrillers and horror there's been 81 books which is pretty good i've started them i would say over the past like five no not that i would say like yeah it's been about five years maybe since i've started reading them so i felt really good with that but i thought today i would do a tier ranking video putting them all in categories there we go as you can see my two ranking list i have five categories as usual the first step is thriller rific i don't know why i put that i just did it's just like a five of the five thriller for me it's one of my favorite photos of all time i love it i'm obsessed about it you know not much else to be said then we have so close to amazing this is like where it was four like maybe like four to four and a half stars that i was just so close to being like everything for me but it wasn't quite there but i still really really enjoy it then we have solid thrills this is just kind of a middle of the road thriller for me i didn't hate it nor did i love it it was just like it was a solid one you know it was good that's what i could say it as that's why it's solid thrills good thrills you know it was good and then we have met this is like my two stars pretty much where it wasn't that great i don't really remember a lot about it didn't love it you know nor did i like truly hate it i just did not like it and then we have never ever again and usually i don't put a lot of books in this last category because i don't like doing that but i know for a fact there's gonna be a lot for this one because there have been thrillers in particular that i have read that i have low so these are pretty much where those are gonna go so like i said there's like 81 books so let's get into it i don't want this to be a forever long video she says before she even edits or films this we'll see first up these are no particular order obviously this is whatever they decide to upload we have the good girl by mary kabico is this the first american biker book i've read i don't know i don't remember a ton about it i will say that but i do remember enjoying it so i'm gonna put it in solid throws i'm pretty sure i gave it like a three i couldn't tell you what it's about at all though but uh there's that and then we have one this is like one of the first thrillers i read i would say it's called the silent sister by a diane chamberlain meh i don't hate it but i don't remember literally anything about it like the good girl i can pretty much like i can get a vague remembrance of the real word you know what i mean from that the silent sister no freaking so that's why it's going there you by carolyn kapnis thrillerific i love you stand by you to this day it is for my favorite thrillers i listen to it on audio which i highly recommend doing this is coming from someone that does not listen to a ton of audio books so i feel like when i say this don't i people you know go for it because i don't listen to them a ton but this one is truly made for um uh audiobook and i will say also this is made into a netflix show if you like the show still read the book the book is a lot better as you know most source materials are but you is just a great book the kind worth killing by peter swanson this i read this this year in fact i read this like a couple months ago i put it in thought thrills i didn't love it as much as everyone else did like if when you hear about peter swanson everyone talks about the kind worth killing that's like his everyone's favorite a favorite of books by him for me i didn't love it i didn't hate it it was just kind of like a middle of the road one you know it was it was okay the girl on the train by paula hawkins fun fact this was my first thriller i ever read i was very skeptical of marine thrillers because i'm a scaredy cat i still am but i'm really expanding my boundaries in fact my husband said the other day he's like i don't even know who you are anymore like because you're reading like horror books and other things and i'm just like i guess i'm ex growing and not being as scared a ton i don't know but i think i'll always be a scaredy cat but either way the girl that trained my paul hawkins was my first thriller read which is why it's gonna go to so close to amazing because i just have fond memories of it is a great book you know it's okay i feel like the ending is pretty predictable i've still yet to watch the movie i don't know if i ever will but i just have such a good place for it in my heart because it was the first thriller i ever read and it brought me into the world of thriller reads here we begin my ruth ware journey so if you don't know ruth ware is a very popular solar writer i have read the majority of her books i don't love any of them i in fact i will say this is gonna be the first and never ever again i loathe in a dark dark wood in particular the characters the characters are horrible a lot of times the thrillers if i read books where they're so unlikable characters and they're not written well i do not care what happens to them and that was the exact case with this book i do not like it it's probably my least favorite bruce wearable honestly i just i don't like it um he will be my room by k.a tucker this is like a romance suspense novel i'm going to put it in math i've read k tucker's book before i think i really love her romance books but i don't love the thrilling aspect of this one it was like okay oh another mary kamika book don't you cry i don't remember a single thing about this one that's why it's going to go mad this is going to be hard to do because some of these i still remember a lot about and some of them i have no clue and that's exactly the case of don't you cry mary biko i can't figure out which one i liked more good girl or don't you cry i want to say i gave them both a three out of five i think i don't know woman in cabin 10 by ruth ware i actually do not hate this book i would probably put it in solid thrills i know shocking for like ruth ware for me i did enjoy this book i thought it was very interesting in the fact that it took place like on a cruise ship and it was a very tiny cruise ship so it was very like secluded and like i felt claustrophobic almost while reading it because i'm like this girl cannot escape and there's murderers on this boat like what are you gonna do but i enjoyed it it's one of those roof swears that i actually do like so there's that hidden bodies by carolyn kapnis this is the sequel to you and it is horrible when they they like i said you became a tv show i was very interested to see what they were going to do with the second season because i read the second book hidden bodies and i loved it so much i'm like i don't know what they're gonna do um and they changed it a lot and i thought for the better because the book was so horrible that's just me all this is just my opinion obviously i don't like talking bad about books but i do not love that book at all and it is the reason why i refused to read the third book that came out called you love me i don't see a need for it i really wish it just stayed like the show i'm okay with continuing because they really went off kilter like off from the books but the books i just really wish it stopped at you that would have been great so that's my opinion final course by riley sager my first realized sacred book i did really enjoy this it was so close to amazing for me i know a lot of people are on the fence about riley sacred books with me as well there's some that i love by him and there's some that are like uh this one was a good one i really remember enjoying it a time it was the first kind of foray into a book about final girl as the final last girl and i've read a few since then but i do really enjoy it another ruth ware book the lion game meh i don't remember much about this one other than was this the one that had like a great atmosphere like they were like on an island or something i think i don't know don't know much about it i mean if you're here to like hear me talk amazing about ruth weir i'm sorry you're at the wrong video i've given up on her books into the water for paul hawkins again meh i was really looking forward to um a book another book by her since i love the girl on the train this one sadly was just let me down couldn't tell you what happened didn't enjoy it then we have a stranger in the house this by cheryl pena i did really enjoy this one actually i would put a solid throws i did not expect the ending i don't think any of us if you've read the book could not see where the ending was coming from like i think it was like what it was a very bizarre ending but it kept me guessing i'll tell you that didn't see it coming for miles but i enjoyed it i think it's my first cherie lepenia book the last miss parish never ever again who is this by liz constantine maybe i don't remember i don't i remember not enjoying it it was like i think about a wife replacing another wife it was just boring much like why she told i don't remember hating this one but i'll put it in matt i believe this is like an author that was writing a thriller book and she started to get confused about um what was actually in her book versus real life and it sounded really cool but sadly the execution was not there for me kill creek ah i mean i didn't put it in 5x5 but i'll put it in through the river i think this was the first horror book i've ever read it was interesting i would really love to see this being made into a movie it's about five thriller authors that get invited this interview at this like old haunted house they have to spend the night there and then you get to see what happens in them after they spend the night how this house has affected them in each ways and the first half of the book's kind of slow but the second half whoa like it was my first introduction into thrillers and i did really enjoy it the wife between us by gruyere hendrix and sarah peckinen saw thrills was my first read by them and still my favorite by them i did really enjoy it i think the twist in this there's a couple twists were very obvious but i still like them every other book i've read by them i haven't enjoyed it so it might be time for me to hang my hat up on them and just kind of move on sometimes i lied about alex feeney again i'm putting solid thrills i did enjoy it i didn't love it but the ending was very interesting i still don't understand the ending to this day i know but it was it was pretty good woman in the window by a.g finn i did not like it i know a lot of people love this book this is such a polarizing book you're either going to love or hate it i don't think a lot of people would put it inside through this it's either going to be in thrillerific or never ever again for you for me obviously you can see where it is i did not enjoy it at all have not watched the adaptation probably will never watch the adaptation moving on things that i could tell by i think this is by jessica strasser i don't know anything about it i don't hate it though so a little bit meh i'm trying to go through these quickly because as you can see we got a lot left um the chalk man by cj tudor this was solid it was interesting i'll say that um it was kind of creepy as well um but i enjoyed it the broken girl by simone st james so close to amazing i really have come to love simone st james i believe i've read three of her books now writes a lot of dual timelines in her book where one will be currently and one will be in the past and this one is exactly like that so i really enjoyed it you have karen slaughter pieces of her the only thriller i've read by karen slaughter and i'm gonna put it so close to amazing i really enjoyed it this is the only karen slaughter book i've read because she writes really i've heard really intense very kind of graphic thriller books did i like the show because i did watch the show no i did not like the show at all i know there's a sequel coming out to this book next month so i plan to read it jar of hearts by jennifer hiller loved it it was dark it was creepy i really liked it i read this recently and really enjoyed it the death of mrs west way by ruth ware i'm gonna put it in meh and the reason i'm not putting it never ever again because the um ruth ware really can write some atmospheric books like she is good about settings this one was kind of set in a gothic manner i remember that it was about this girl that um got a letter saying that she um is part of a family she could inherit you know what i'm going to move to solid because i actually do remember a lot about it and i do enjoy it i did not love the ending as much but the setting the overall plot i did enjoy so i'm going to put it in that one something in the water by catherine said i oh my gosh i love this book this is a book that i thought like the cover it looks like oh what a perfect summer thriller it's about a couple that gets married and they go like on their honeymoon to like this like exotic place and then they find this item and then they make every wrong decision possible like oh they were so stupid like that's why the books i'm like you could have solved all these problems by just not doing x y and z and you know none of this would happen but did they no um watching you by lisa jewell another author i have a love hate relationship there's been a couple books by hers that i really enjoyed and there's been some that haven't this one i actually think is one of my favorites of hers so i'm going to put in solid thrills i did really enjoy it i don't remember a time about it um last time i lied about riley sager this is not one of my favorites by him which is you know polarizing or the unpopular opinion i should say because a lot of people love this one it's set in a summer camp it's actually a great book to read for the summer but i just didn't love it as much as i wanted to maybe i need to reread it i want to guess by sharia la pena again i'm gonna put it in solid thrills i didn't love it um she's this was kind of like a agatha christie ass novel where it's set in the snow or in the snow in the winter and there's a snowstorm it's all about the um this murder that happens at this hotel or like a bed and breakfast and you have to guess who it is i liked it the setting was really good my lovely wife my samantha downing thrillerific like i think this might have been my first after you i should say my first five out of five thriller read i loved it it's basically about a married couple that decides hey you know we're bored our kids are grown let's murder some people there's your tagline an anonymous girl by greer hinters and sarah peckingham meh i didn't hate it wasn't good did enjoy it couldn't tell you a single thing about it the one by john mars thrillerific i love it this one is it's classified as a thriller but just bear with me here it almost reads like a soap opera you have so many characters and it's about like this dna test that can determine who your soulmate is and you follow a slew of people there's also a serial killer in the mix and it was so addicting it is long don't let that dodge you it reads very quickly i loved it so it's kind of got that soap operas to it but it's still classified as a thriller so here we are the silent patient by alice by alex i forget the last name this is one people loved i think it even won the goodreads award for me it was meh i didn't hate it didn't like love it it was just kind of like i didn't think it was that great to take part by lucy foley i is one of my least favorite thrillers of all time like you want to talk about some unlikable characters that you do not care about this is that book this book i could not care less about the characters that's yeah that's how it is moving on the escape room by megan who's this by megan golden i did enjoy this one it kind of inspired um i think the movies i have not watched them i don't think they're anywhere like the book at all but i think it kind of inspired them not really maybe like every doorway riley sager this is one of my least favorite riley sager books and this is another one that people love this and i think the reason why i tell people that i don't love it is because the big twist that happens it was very much like a show that i was currently watching like and they had the same like almost exact twist and i was like what that is so bizarre and so i think that kind of muddled my feelings for it so i don't know if that has a lot to do with it it does i think it does but if i wasn't watching that show which i don't watch the show anymore um spoiler warning it's riverdale which season it is i'll never tell you but i don't watch it anymore but i think that kind of messed up my rating for that the whisper man crap was the spy forget the author's name i don't know do i remember liking it or not it was kind of meh for me i didn't love it um so i'm gonna put it there the turn of the keyboard with where never ever again this is some people's favorite ruth ware book it's a um adaptation is the turn of the screw i think i could be hundred percent wrong i didn't like it i didn't i didn't um the family upstairs i think this is also at least the jewel meh was not a really good one couldn't tell you what it's about and then it was family upstairs i don't know um the wise by tyrion fisher oh my gosh i love this i thought this was so interesting because it sounded like a polygamy thriller where it was a guy that had multiple wives they use this one trope for explaining why a person does certain things and i hate that trope so much so they did it and i hated that so you know by sharing the pina this is when we put met i don't remember anything about this one with the other share of the penas i could remember what they were about this one i do not his and hers by alice feeny again i'm gonna put meh i don't remember much about this one either um a lot of people love this one i don't remember like crazy fond feelings over it so it's gonna go there so i'm going quick we still have three whole freaking roasts the sundown motel so close to amazing another simone st james books that i really enjoyed went like a spooky kind of hotel atmospheric book this is great for lisa unger's confession on the 745 i have no recollection of this whatsoever i think i got on netgalley don't know anything about it the end of her by sheryl opinion again another book i have no clue what it's about here's the thing i share the opinion i do enjoy them but at the end of the book i'm either going to remember a lot about it or i don't and these the last two i put on here i have no clue what they were about at all so there's my reasoning in my dreams i hold a knife thrillerific love it one of my favorite thrillers from red this is a book about unlikable characters which obviously you can tell by now you think i would hate because i'm not obviously like that but it was written so well that i loved it so i think it's all about how you rate it lisa jewell invisible girl again meh i mean i think lisa jewell i'm gonna have to like say goodbye to her soon because this is not working out for me much like someone's listening by sarah fina nova glass couldn't tell you anything about it again it was another neck galley book don't remember it home before dark by riley sager my favorite riley saver book if you're looking for a haunted house book check it out like i love it some people don't like it i love it one i wearing my wristwear never ever again this was my last ruth ware book that i read that i decided to be like i am done and again again great setting very agatha christie's where it's kind of in the winter they're stuck in this cabin there's a murder you only have a selected number of people so it's got to be one of them but again unlikable characters that i could care less about she does so good with that that at the end of the book you like i don't even care that's exactly what this one was um the night swim with megan golden love this one if you're looking for a great summer thriller that's about podcast check this one out you'll really enjoy it i think the wife who knew too much i think by michelle campbell didn't love it i remember about it but i didn't love it samantha downes he started it so close to amazing it's about siblings that are on a road trip and the ending is like it's like a wtf-15 you're like what it came out of left field you didn't know what happened but i enjoyed it a ton um the guest list by lucy foley i love it this is one that a lot of people i thought a lot of people loved but the worst time goes on people are like why people love this book so much i still love it for your own good by samantha downing i remember not enjoying this this one you figure out the villain early on in the book and you kind of follow their trajectory and it sounded interesting and it's set in a private school and again it was unlikable characters that i did not care anything about so i don't know i just didn't really love it girl from little hills i have a lot of meh i'm feeling really bad about this this is one that i was so excited to read it's about a girl that kind of survives like as she's like a traumatic thing that happens to her when she's like a baby and it sounded like amazing and she's an adult and things are happening again but the ending was such a lame payoff i was like oh this could have been so good but it wasn't much like if i disappear i'm actually going to put this one in there or never ever again i again this is another one that sounded really good but the execution was horrible every last fear by alex finlay i'm gonna put it inside the rules it was okay finley donovan is killing it i'm gonna put it in through horrific i really enjoyed it if you want like a satiri thriller book this is perfect for you especially if you're like 18 and thrillers but you're really scared this is a great one to get started with what lies between us by john mars meh i did not enjoy this one as much honestly because it's so depressing like it is depressing on depressing like i did not enjoy it um so mexican gothic i'm gonna put in solid thrills i think i would i wanted to put in so close to amazing but as time goes on i learned that it was okay it wasn't amazing or not the setting i think really takes the place in this like takes the cake for this book so there's that um that's on the nail bag at the christie so close to amazing this is my second agatha christie book i loved it can you read more local women missing by american bika put a put in solid it was a good one it wasn't i don't know which one was my favorite american pika book might be this one actually the maid by um neeta pros i believe i'm gonna put again in solid this is another one in case you're like um wanting to get thrillers this is a really easy one not too scary one kind of a locked door mystery one if you will it was good the hot ticket beatrix screen this is solid i'd this was like three short stories in one if i'm not mistaken i do really enjoy it it was set like in the gothic era in a very haunted house i thought it was really fun i haven't heard a lot of people talk about it but i liked it survive the night by riley sager this is when a lot of people hate this one i don't i'm gonna put it in solid it was not i didn't love it but i didn't loathe it so i'm putting it right there in the middle um i liked it it was set in the 90s about the squirrel that kind of gets in the car with maybe a killer there you go um i'm sorry i'm moving fast because i realize that this video is getting really long final girl support group again solid this is one that a lot of people load this is by brady hendricks i liked it i thought it was good it was real is it over the top yes but i think it was meant to be like that but that's just me um and as i'm seeing this now i do not see his other book um the southern book club guide to slaying vampires that should be in here imagine it is and imagine i'm putting it in so close to amazing so there's the two great hendrix books i've read let's just picture that um then we have these lisa duels the night she disappeared it wasn't that great i think i need to be done with lisa joel and the last thing he told me about laura dave this is not a mystery book it is really not but it's marketed and labeled as that i've said my feelings time and time again about this book hi by um kirsten white it was okay i'm gonna put it in solid i really wish it could have been more it's a horror book but i wanted so much more of it it's about a game of hide and seek with deadly consequences and it could have been so good if they would have went a different route but they didn't it wasn't as suspenseful as i think it should have been and that's coming from somebody like me that gets scared easily so take without what you will share the opinion not a happy family this was math for me honestly this it's about a family where like the mom dies and you think one of the family members did it it was okay it wasn't a great history of all places by sharon shaw solid this one is like can i do this if you want a book kind of similar to the village by m night shyamalan check out this book a flicker in the dark this was actually my first thriller i read was it this year no it wasn't this year it was last year meh this one again was so interesting it's about like a father serial killer and you could see the twist coming from five miles away dead silence by essay barnes i'm gonna put it in solid i i wanted to love this one more it's a sci-fi horror and the first half was amazing it was like five out of five for me i was getting so excited then the second half came and it was just like meh so that's why i'm putting it in solid because if i kind of combine those two like i would give the first half a five out of five in the second half like a two and a half we're going to split it at like a three so there you go the night shift by alex family again i'm gonna put it in solid it was okay this one again had so much potential but sadly fell short for me um likewise i'm gonna put finley donovan oxen dead i did not enjoy it nearly as much as um her first book um i don't think it really needed to be a sequel to be honest with you i think it could have been it could have just been a one and done story like it doesn't need more added on to it but it wasn't horrible but it just wasn't amazing cole cases by simon st james again so close so close to amazing i've put all of her books on here i really enjoy them if you can't tell the house across the lake where i sticker meh i did not enjoy this at all like it was so boring that's just how it is for me um and then we have before i go to sleep again met is this i feel like i'm missing some i tried to download them all from goodreads but maybe i didn't so there you have my thriller tier list obviously i'm missing some the one i noticed from particular was um the southern book club guide to slaying vampires and i'm probably missing a couple more but i've got the majority of them on there but i wanted to film this so you could see a really big sense of books that i've loved and books that i haven't loved obviously you can tell from this list that the majority of the thrillers i read are kind of in the meh solid thrills category majority of them being kind of meh so i don't know i still really enjoy thrillers but i've noticed now over the past couple years i've been more selective about picking ones because as you can tell i've read a lot that are kind of the meh genre so i don't know i just want to share this with you to show you the kind of scope of the thriller books i enjoy i hope you enjoy this tear raking video a lot of you guys have been asking for this particular one i hope you enjoyed it and if you want any more in the future please let me know because i always love doing these videos they're very fun they're time-consuming because i talk even more than i usually do but still regardless they are fun as always thank you so much for watching and i will see you in my next video bye\n"
